Dr Zakir Naik || Amazing Benefits of Fasting !! With Q & A || Ramadan Special !! Episode-10 - Duration: 47:52.

you

dear brothers and sisters in Islam and humanity assalamualaikum warahmatullahi

wabarakatuh may peace mercy and blessings of allah subhana WA Ta'ala be

on all of you welcome to the show Ramadan a date with dr. Zakia I am your

host use of chambers and today we will be discussing the topic benefits of

fasting dr. Zakir once again I greet you with Salaam's assalamualaikum

warahmatullahi wabarakatuh walaikum asalam bottom of the labor

gather the benefits of fasting dr. Zakir in the previous episode we discussed the

objectives of fasting and within the objectives of fasting we mentioned these

spiritual religious benefits are there any other benefits that you need to tell

the audience about al hamdulillah what's the loudest Allah Allah a fully

level and you establish me I'm my bad I also below him in the shaytani regime

with me layer of man Raheem rubbish charitably

- liam li walakum between lasagnas cock only as far as benefits besides

religious and spiritual benefits there are various benefits of fasting and as

where he mentioned in the last interview discussed about religion spiritual there

are other benefits which can be categorized into three different

categories physical benefits of fasting there are psychological benefits fasting

as well as there are social benefits of fasting I see

let's move on to the first category the physical benefits what exactly are the

physical benefits of fasting since fasting mainly involves in abstaining

from food drink and sex from dawn to sunset

they realized that the stomach is the main organ of the body which has the

maximum degrees maximum yield that's our beloved posture mindful

attention it's mentioned in every miser while number four how did number three

three four nine upload profit said that there is nothing better that a son of

Adam can fill in the container with more evil than the stomach it is sufficient

for a man to be on his feet with a few muscles but if yes tree is more you can

divide the summer in three parts one-third for the food one-third for the

drink and one-third for his breath one-third for the air so what we realize

that the maximum disease is originated in the stomach regardless house for

bacteria and the food that we eat it enters the stomach from the stomach it

gets there just goes into the intestinal tract then the food nutrients enter the

bloodstream and then goes to almost all the different organs of the body and we

realize that the stomach is working continuously throughout the life it now

gets any rest then we fast this stomach which is a

very delicate organ dodo a delicate it is a very complicated organ it's

delicate at the same time it's very important it keeps on working through

the day this organ mildly fast when no food enters for several as it

gets rest and the toxins that are there in the body they are removed they are

pushed out so fasting is a very good way but physically it's beneficial for the

body it removes all the toxins and it helps when very easy desist what about

the psychological impacts upon the human psyche regarding fasting I think that's

very important as far as the psychological dimension of concerned

fasting helps in patient forbearance and but event it helps the person to

increase his self-control health self-worth it helps them to increase the

self reflexivity also the first training and discipline is improved the main

psychological benefit of fasting is the increase in patience and perseverance

and it can make a person who says I cannot do again we can say I can do and

fasting helps in the conditioning of the heart body mind and soul it improves the

overall dimension of the u.e.b and fasting in a sort of film it even helps

in behavioral change and changing a behavior is very difficult a person

who's used to a particularly severe very difficult it is as we say that the best

type of jazz is jazz enough that is striving against your own soul so the

change the habits is one of the thing which is most difficult which fasting

can do and since jihad that is run in the

battlefield is of utmost important when required if you cannot do jihad

if you cannot strive against you all soul how can you strive against enemy so

therefore fasting helps in that dimension that's the reason fasting was

made first before jihad fasting was made for 15 years after prophet in the second

degree and next year one year later jihad MidFirst so Allah - Allah first

wanted to train and make the Muslims fit psychologically with the help of fasting

and then the cattle part was made first so psychologically variant food and

normally a human being we eat three meals a day in a week about 21 weeks now

that it changed that behavioral pattern of eating is changed to 2 means lightly

late in the evening or early night and before dawn so the whole pattern is

changed and this helps in various psychological aspects the

cleaning and today's back already tell us that if you can control your hunger

we can control almost all your desires actually from the psychological aspect

myself just to add something there it was the fasting in the last week and

a half of Ramadan which changed it for me

it changed my mind totally and that's what actually led me to taking the

Shahada a little basically some deluxe and I know that's why I mentioned the

psychological aspects very important on to the next question

regarding the social impact of fasting there are any specific areas that you

can shed light on for as far as the social impact of concern in fasting the

person realizes about the other human beings who are poor who don't let food

around a shelter and it makes us realize that how does it feel when a person is

hungry many of us were rich who has no problem of eating food then we first

realized how does it feel when a person is hungry so our loved and have a care

for the poor people increases and furthermore even we realize the bondage

of Allah subhanAllah how many times do we really tank allah

subhanaw taala for the food you have given us for the water imagine the air

that we get that we breathe how many and we thank Allah for that so the food the

water with Allah provides us Village People hardly the mind goes towards it

but while fasting the DLF that it helps them to care for the poor people it also

helps them in being generous to the other human beings in sharing with other

human beings it also helps in forgiving other people's fault so fasting helps

Society in various ways and furthermore a beloved form of colostrum said it's

mentioned in sale JAMA point number one I did number eight nine

sticks the blood prophet said that if you

mercy on those on the earth then those were in the heaven they will have mercy

on you that miracle most people to the original

beings last man on earth Allah Allah bikini so this fasting it helps us in

building the society better it helps us in being generous helps us be loving in

carrying the other human beings and besides not only the poor people it

helps us in being good with all the human beings it helps us in be good with

the family help selves in the Guru society and many a time we don't realize

that we don't give enough time to our family especially in the Western world

at least in fasting go with the family twice and people make it a point that in

fasting it leaves they should do the for the family and it least break the faster

the family so at least they are with the family twice in the day so the bonding

in the family increases there's a family get together the parents get more

provincial especially in the Western world where just neglected as far the

society is concerned it is very helpful in getting up side together we many a

time go to our neighbours during it start we call our friends call our

neighbours and the beloved portion of solution state it's mentioned in say

Muslim one number three have this number five three seven nine the Prophet said

whenever you are invited do not refuse so people invite each other during his

path in the month of Ramadan so it helps in getting the human beings closer to

one another whether these neighbors whether the society at large and it's

also a very good time for self-improvement as well as doing a flaw

and Dawa we meet people in the mosque many people don't go to the mosque again

number one become the mosque we meet them we can chat with them we go for

toffee and this is the time we can do s la we're going to download the

non-muslim and as you rightly said from nun was the month the time we change a

heart and Allah gave is daya it is very important and that's why the beloved

portion of Silicon said mission Samantha moody I did number one

nine to four that Allah bestows his mercy on those would themselves show

mercy to others again a perfect test and it came to melodies that if you show

mercy to those or not those in the heavens will show mercy to it so fasting

helps in building on the society and getting people to the dominant physical

ahead dear brothers and sisters inshallah we'll meet soon after a short

break Salaam walekum last metal ye or better

god-fearing law-abiding dear brothers and sisters and Islam and humanity

assalamu alaikum welcome back to the show ramadan they

were dr. Zakia I'm your host used of chambers and today

we are discussing the benefits of fasting dr. Zakir let's move on to the

next question I want to come back to some of the points you were mentioning

under the physical changes and benefits of the fast what are the medical

implications of fasting there are innumerable medical benefits than a

person passed I'll just mention a few of them it organizes the heartbeat and

elected it it reduces the pressure on the heart arteries and it reduces the

fat the cholesterol as well as the acids it releases the pressure on the liver

fasting also decreases the secretion of the digestive glands which normally

cause disaster the less time stress of having kidney stones in the person fast

fasting is also helpful in non instrument dependent diabetes and

fasting you've also helpful inducing of it fasting as a whole it is beneficial

for the whole digestive system as a central nervous system

fasting helps in removing the toxins from the body

fasting increases the immunity of the body fasting also reverses the aging

process it increases the longevity life span of a human being

fasting also helps in creation of more of t-cells which turn on killer cells

and fasting as a whole it rejuvenates and overall the complete body and there

are various diseases which helped when a person passed for example a person who's

suffering from certain diseases and have a person fast a title for it for example

in cardiovascular disease a person suffering from Optima from arthritis

from digestive disorders if he's suffering from lupus from skin disorders

it is suffering from non-neutral dependability

there are various so this can go on and go on and it is even helpful in removing

a person who's addicted to things which are Haram and it'll basically damn good

for example smoking a person who is an alcoholic or a person who the chain

smoker fasting helps them in breaking this wrong habit

in addition let's move on to the next question relates to the science behind

the benefits of fasting there are some people and I want to know whether

they're right or not we say that fasting actually has some harmful effects on a

person psychological social physical etc is that correct several approaches have

been done many find this at first after is confront and what effect does it have

in various aspects of living body and scientists will tell us that when a

person takes in food it increases the metabolism of the body when the food

intake is reduced or in a person fast the body metabolism rate goes down by

about 80 percent and if you fast continuously for

several days per month then this stabilizes at a lower rate the body

metabolism rate is released by fasting further the research done on various

groups of male and female Muslims word fasted and it showed that there was a

slight reduction in the body weight but those increase in the glucose level as

far as all the other things are concerned it remained constant whether

it was the testosterone of the cottage cell whether it was sodium potassium

urea whether of cholesterol whether it was HDL high links and Aleppo protein

whether it was LDL low density lipoprotein whether it was T G the

Tigris ride all these the body levels remain the same the fasting did not have

any effect on them except it increased the glucose levels and there was a

slight duction bit when another official conduct in Iran where some men fasted

for about 17 hours for 30 days in the month of Ramadan it showed that it had

no effect on the male reproductive hormone on the desktops alone and it had

no effect on the HP TA as well as on the thyroid hormones there were several

researches conducted the also research though the study made which was called

as increase in oxidation month of ramadhan on healthy woman away from

maintaining the weight weight maintenance and it showed that during

fasting there was no change as far as the physiology of the body was concerned

the weight was same and all the function were the same fasting increases the fat

oxidation and decreases the carbohydrate oxidation and you have to realize that

we have to let the physician of the Western world they should know that they

should note the levels of bilirubin and glucose while fasting

the Forrestal is conducted that fasting increases the mucosa developed B

lymphocyte cells responsiveness but if not sure I change in the beam for the

responsiveness of the rheumatoid arthritis and the help volunteers but in

fasting it increases the longevity of the life increases like Spanier of many

researches conducted animals it increases lifespan further research was

conducted on the lactating women when they fasted the fasting did not increase

or decrease there was no change in the middle column however content of the

milk the glucose level was the same the fat concentration of the same the

lactose contained all the same there was no change per se as far as the lactating

mothers were concerned the research is done regarding fastings effect on

menstruating women as well as the reproductive cycle and when the research

was done there's no change whatsoever there wasn't any change in the menstrual

cycle in fasting or there was no negative effect no positive effect so it

is wrong to say that fasting as an ill-effect there are many benefits which

we discussed earlier but there are certain positive points that fasting has

helped in certain diseases for example rheumatoid arthritis osteoarthritis it

helps and what we realized that we researchers were done that on animals

when they are sick they don't before having any food same thing with the

children when children get sick they don't prefer having food it is the

family members who fought them draft food and research has shown that when

food is taken when a person is sick it prevents them from getting well early it

hampers the immune system so when a person fast when you seriously ill it

helps them to recover faster that is a reason now we find that there are many

treatments within good fasting for very diseases which

ballistamon because when a person fast in body get stressed and the toxins are

removed from the body so it helps them to recover faster and fasting is also

good to change the behavior pattern and if a person is addicted or a person is i

colic as I mentioned earlier or is a chain smoker if you fast it's a good

point that he can stop it for the life and people who have betrayed it to

things like tea coffee junk food when they fast and they stay

away from it when they taste buds they don't have for the full month the taste

buds don't crave for that and when they're healthy food they start liking

it that's a good time to stay away from junk food if you can do it for one month

you can good for your life yes and there are certain diseases for example insulin

dependent diabetes a person who's suffering from insulin dependent

diabetes we should not fast because yes ketosis normally the ketones are used as

a source of energy but if a person has insulin dependent diabetes he is unable

to use this so therefore person where insulin dependent ability should not

fast but naturally if you take insulin and fast and with the medical advice

it's fine but the other type of diabetes which is more common non

insulin-dependent diabetes fasting helpful for that another mentioned

earlier it's helpful in very diseases like Tara Webster disease Optima

arthritis digestive tight diseases in lupus and skin disease can name a list

of diseases in which fasting is of big benefit

brothers and sisters in shala we'll meet soon after the short break

Salam alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh hearings over there dear brothers and

sisters and islam and humanity assalamualaikum

welcome back to the show and they were dr. Zakia I'm your host

use of chambers and today we are discussing the benefits of fasting

salaam aleikum walekum apollo Monica lubricant dr. Zakia

I think it would be really interesting to know I mean this research has it been

done by Muslims or non-muslims this is the first you have been done by both

Muslim and non-muslim and there are hundreds of non-muslim scientists who

have done research on fasting so it's not only the Muslim more non-muslims do

default on fasting but the IVA Muslims for example if you read the book fasting

a way of life Milan cut he write that fasting is altogether it gives a rest to

the digestive tract as well as a central nervous system to the whole body and

here's a non Muslim there was a refreshing mind in doctor by the name of

dr. Shankar and money and she says that when a person is fast there is no intake

of food so the toxins are created by the food that you eat so no new toxin have

created and whatever toxin is there present in the body from before it gets

excused from the body so fasting is a very good method of educating all the

toxins from the body and it purifies the body system as well my non-muslim very

first isn't even a Muslim he so it's done we're out of a lemon in the

University Hospital in Amman in Jordan and he did a research on a group of men

and women they were 42 men and anything's woman and the first person

that they fasted and the changes in the body was noted and they found out that

there was a slight reduction in weight and there's an increase in the glucose

level but as far as the other components are concerned testosterone cortisol

sodium potassium yuria all of them remain the same

there's no change as per in the body count except it was an increase and the

reduction in the weight of the movie there were several research is done by

non-muslims those a group of non-muslim scientists who did research in Africa in

areas where they were family and they realized that people Mendel

research that people who were starving because of famine and they lived in the

same village ECAM some people who had food and some people were starving but

those who were starving that less chances of having tuberculosis as well

as malaria so fasting increase the defense mechanism against tuberculosis

and malaria so it's a last verse fear hamdulillah

can you believe because they were starving it prevented them from having

tuberculosis and malaria Allahu Akbar the research is done the non-muslims a

show that fasting increases the longevity increase the life span and it

has a reversal on the aging process those who searched then by a Muslim

scientist by the name of dr. ossama candle in the how olicity Muslim mother

in a non-muslim can take down the community and he did a research on

patient suffering from cancer and he tried to find out what they do the cells

function especially the killer cells which attack the cancer cells and he did

accounting just before they started fasting and then he again do the

counting on the Beneful there from them they're going to end there from that and

he found that there was a marked difference after 21 days and 28 days the

number of cells the killer cells they increased and these cells they attack

the cancer cells and it shows that even the immunity increased the difference

mechanism of the human being because of fasting it increased and the renewal

research again done in the same tissues and it found out that the t-cells which

are normally required for the defense ability of the human being they

christow gate length and p says the minute is possible when anyone has a

disease they are mainly the soldiers or they are called the Major General of the

army that you have they are the t-cells and they go when they see to it

any disease is there it goes and try and destroy the disease and age of the

disease which mainly attacks these peoples therefore it is known as

acquired immune deficiency syndrome so when you fast these cells increase and

immunity of the win means increased I'd like to mention one research done by a

European non Muslim by the name of dr. Jeffrey and what it is that fasting is

not only done by human beings fasting is even done by the animals and

the plants and you give the example the animals that live in cold countries

during heavy snowfalls they stay separately and they don't eat and they

will hibernation and there are examples of animals like frog which were in

hibernation and here's it only in a first and again the example it is book

that even the trees in winter as they don't get water they're fasting but the

moment they don't spring comes you'll find that the tree is filled up the

colorful leaves with flowers with fruits and he suggested that every human being

every year should at least fast for 40 days and you know that it first probably

Muslim through fasting month or month and the proximal candidate and further

if we keep the fixed days of fasting ensure while that makes is an addictive

so allah subhanaw taala and our prophet has only given us this guidance with the

non-muslim european have given us recently so the many refer children may

non-muslims on fasting and very beneficial in body dr. zakir most of the

research that you've mentioned i suspect a lot of the other research we haven't

had time to mention today was done relatively recently um was this

knowledge this scientific knowledge available for the Muslims in history fi

the earlier Muslims were confirmed some of the facts the moon some were not

known not in the same way as we have come to know by the first today and are

you the reason why later now the main question is confirmed that were they

aware what these aspects of fasting in a different way not been the same as we

know today that reminds me I did a book by Moran Abul Hasan that we are gamma

larvae where mana Burlison not we he writes in the book are gamma larvae and

he gives an incident at the time of California sheet and then he gives a

dialogue between the Christian position of Kali partnership and a Muslim by the

name of Ali bin Hussein bin rocket and this Christian position of caliph harun

Russia he says that the Quran is considered to be a book of Sciences and

we know that two types of Sciences science of the body signs of the soul so

what does your Quran speak about medical science so Ali bin Hussein ben wocken

he said that Allah subhana WA Ta'ala in half of us of the Quran he combines both

these senses when he says yes we are of chap number seven was not even eat and

drink but do not waste in excess fall of a note Allah likes not the people wished

indications and the face but what did you have prophet normal assalam say

about medicine so he said that he is mentioned that the stomach is the main

house of diseases and prevention is the best thing for ailment

information they breathe and cure and as I mentioned a beloved Portman silicium

said it's mentioning it mamaaaaa wrong number for habit number three three four

nine the Prophet said the son of Adam does not fill a vessel more words more

evil than the stomach a few muscles are sufficient to give him on a feat the

quest to eat more one-third of the stomach can be a food one-third link and

one-third should be for his breath so then that a Christian physician said

that means when you had the guidance of your Allah and Prophet Muhammad we did

not require Gallinas journalist he was really famous non-muslim physician of

that name so what the preferred analysts say is an telegraphic message which we

had done research today but the Prophet also already has given a nutshell the

message before and in the same book argan larvae mana boon offended we he

mentioned and give the example of another non Muslim scientists who are

American he says that every human being with the poor or rich he should fast for

some days every year if we keep him healthy and then he says that it's clamp

is the best religion which had made it completely on the follows too fast

and he said that Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him was the best position to

have prescribed fasting and he said that there's no better healthy way and

fasting and after that kirari in which you have to do some extra files

around him which helps in digestion so if you realize that the non-muslim

appreciated the region of Islam after the lipids do many of the Muslims are

aware about the medical benefits are fasting but the Muslims we don't fast

for these medical benefits we fast for sake of allah subhanaw taala for the

play of allah subhanaw taala we don't pass for the

Vince these medical benefits are ancillary yeah or they may be the maybe

three dishes maybe the different our main biryani a main meal cost if a

pleasure for las manos ala which we discussed in the objective of fasting we

don't file for medical benefit even is this molecular benefit one out there we

muslim would have fasted for las manos allah but and what do we do for last -

allah i will i give this back in return so all that that we do it actually

benefits us in various ways in this world

evelyn Ihara but we muslims don't pass for these medical benefits these are

just bonus so that we get it respectable that we get so not yet with fasting

zakat la ventana yeah that's good so when you listen to

the commandments of allah subhanho wa taala rasul allah salallahu alayhi

wasalam look at his life and implement those things immediately you get some

benefit in this world and subhanAllah dear brothers and sisters inshallah

we'll meet soon after the short break Salam aleikum laughs metal IE or butter

cut is my dear dear brothers and sisters in Islam and humanity assalamu aleikum

welcome back to the show ramadan they were dr. Zakia

I'm your host use of chambers and today we are discussing the benefits of

fasting Salam aleikum walekum : Monica lubricant

dr. Zakir may Allah give us great benefits through the fasting we've

discussed so many benefits there's so many to discuss dr. Zakir I think we

could have three programs on this just on this subject alone

but alas okay we can't spend that much more time in the interview stage because

it's come to an end and we need now to take some questions from the audience

from the people watching peace Evie so let's move on now the first question we

have from one of our viewers is many Muslims

fast during the day could overeat in the nighttime during the month of ramadhan

many eat more food in the month of Ramadan during the nights then they do

during non Ramadan time will they be in a position to derive the medical

benefits that a person who doesn't need too much will get as far as deriving the

medical benefits those people awaiting the night

and we know there are many Muslims unfortunately we eat a lot during star

they'd mix it and many of them keep on eating most part of the night and then

the past this is against the manual of marbella allah says in surah Araf

chapter 7 verse 31 eat and drink but waste not Bikefest

last panel Allah does not like the vistas here we know people buy food they

have start parties that they make a variety of dishes it goes in based and

not lost of lot of money which can benefit the poor people surely this is

not the way of Islam and as I mention earlier beloved performer from assalam

it's mentioned in the hadith Ostrow techni miser or number four and it

number three three four nine that the fund of Adam does not fill a vessel more

worse than the stomach to Mosul sufficient to keep in one feet it's

mostly it more you should divide this among the three parts one-third for food

one-third for drink and 135 spread I want to play based on this but natural

overeating is again vicuna again the commander las manos allah and even he

will not get the benefit of fasting fasting with a person abstain from food

and then has normal there's no weight so most of the benefits that are mentioned

in the medical benefits most of them he will not get some you

negate sometimes it's toh excessively it may cause a damage to health it's like I

give the example in the last episode person it then it puts a finger in the

throat and vomits out the food you eat will not make him healthy

so here the fasting will not benefit if he always it goes again is the principle

of fasting good I think that's a very concise answer and that's what we need

there's lots of questions to get through dr. zakir second question from one of

our viewers again if a Muslim fast with an intention of reducing his or her

weight or dieting will he get the reward of fasting yochi if you're talking about

reward in general Islamic the talking about John a forgiveness at kadra a

beloved prophet said in fermented midi book of fasting added number two three

three one that there's no fast for a person who does not intend to fast the

night before intention is a must intention is for the sake of allah

subhanaw taala for the pledge of Alaska mountain a person does not have this

intention surely he will not get the religious benefit you will not get the

spiritual benefit the reason why we fast that is tough one what we discussed in

the last episode as far as the other medical benefit the person does for

dieting or aap leaders for weight loss he may get those benefits like there are

people who fast maybe political even people do hunger strike people they fast

for the pressure some people fast as we mentioned for

weight loss for dieting so that part of the medical benefit the midget but not

the benefit completely of a slam I never laugh it in the Quran in surah hood chap

number 11 worse than 1660 anyone who does any deed

for this world Allah they sure give him the reward without diminution from this

world but he will have no reward in the hereafter except for Hellfire and he's

really the person who does such did a really misguided

so fasting only for weight loss diet thing is just it is

Pennywise pound-foolish what I realized that we have to mainly

first ethical left panel pala then we get the overall benefit okay I preferred

to get a little bit fat and then but go to paradise actually wouldn't you become

10 indeed guru birthday yes if you passed the complete right really the

spoon of the profit on solutely not lawson was in fact alhamdulillah

yes I get your point dr. Zakir next question the prophet muhammad salallahu

alaihe salam we've heard in previous episodes of the series used to break

fast with the date and it's therefore highly recommended to break fast with

the date and can you inform us about the medical benefits of dates big is the

wholesome food dates contain high level of carbohydrates 44 - is it perfect it

has a low fat content going to the point 5 percent there are about 15 noodles and

salts in date toxic vitamins the protein level is 2 point 3 to 5 point 6 percent

it has a high fiber content 6.4 11.5% depending upon the different types of

date and if you realized that because of the high carbohydrate content it is a

very good source of energy the moment we update immediately gives

the energy it is far better than any other whether at the glucose powder etc

the date gives instant energy and a person can survive only on dates and

water for days are much together and our prophet of Allah solemn there should be

no food for days and weeks togetherness how when you subscribe only on date and

water sometime on date and coming miss so they do wholesome food the fat

content doesn't increase the weight hardly any so there is no risk a person

who's in afraid oh the weight will increase

that's not day as far as the minions are concerned it contains

about 15 different millions it even contains fluoride which prevents the

tooth decay it contains selenium which fights

against cancer and increases the immune system of the human body it contains

about 6 vitamins go to a less degree less content it can be vitamin C vitamin

b1 vitamin b2 niacin it can be vitamin E it has proteins which have 23 different

amino acids and this flow date has amino acids which are not contained in other

fruits which normally people have it's not present in apples oranges banana but

if they're in the date and day it also has a very high content of fiber it is a

fibrous type so it good for digestion and you have date the digestion gets

cleared it can cure constipation and the system is clear it has various benefits

and it is the wholesome food and we realized the rahamtullah in the last 40

years the production of date has increased by 2.9 times and the

population of the world has increased twice so the dead population is much

more than the population of the human beings because it's very wholesome food

and instant energy next question somebody wants to know how does fasting

differ from anorexia anorexia by definition means loss of appetite it's a

particular word use philosophy tight and many times this happens in certain

people those who dieting it's coming in young ladies it's a sort of a disease

that those who diet they abstain from food and then that becomes habit and

they don't want of anything and sometimes when we are going to end or

excel nervosa that psychological disorder that this fear eating thinking

that if they eat then you clear it and that becomes a psychological disorder

so Android clear in a theme but loss of appetite and dieting is not preferred

though most of the people that that the moment they come of the diet they either

go into anorectal nervosa that psychological dimension which if you are

eating anything includes of it and then they lose weight the health goes down or

they go into a binge of or it in a bulimic you know they eat excessive food

and never certain research is conducted on this including in Michigan in 1985

where about five hundred and fifty seven young ladies and all the University out

of which 86% were dieting only 2% of them they still eat excessively when six

months time 19 percent added into the bulimic category deciding move because

the moment you stop dieting you tend to eat excessively and we can move fat or

you go way further on the other side and Roseville nervosa where you don't eat at

all and that damages your body oh and I hope us not to get into that next

question what is the scientific difference between fasting and salvation

fasting scientifically start somewhere close to within 12 us properly called

and when the carbohydrate reserves of the body I used as a source of energy

it's called a fasting moment it starts after maybe a few us initially the food

is utilize and the food intake reduces and when the carbureted reserves of the

body is used for energy source is called a fasting but after the carbohydrate

source in the body deplete gets completely used up then the protein is

used when protein is used as a force of energy is called a starvation then you

find that the muscle mass keeps on reducing the person becomes pin and it

becomes unhealthy scientifically when the corroborated

Souls get depleted and the protein source is used it's called a starvation

which is not good for the body at all fasting you value for the body

starvation is on him well just a holic hair once again dr. Zakia we've heard

many benefits of fasting tonight and I hope and I pray lost panowitz Allah

enables us to take those benefits those benefits and the instructions you've

given tonight and utilize them during this wonderful month of fasting is a

clock I refer to you dear relatives diskless miele span Allah Tala is still

benefits for a whole of this month regarding the fasting especially as now

you've got no excuse because you've heard all the medical raised on detrás

and all the spiritual religious physical psychological medical reasons you've got

absolutely no excuse so please take benefit of dr. Zakir nights advice in

this show and in the preceding shows and we will join you same time tomorrow and

we will be discussing Ramadan the month of repentance salaam aleikum rock/metal

ANTOINETTE: YOU WOULD HAVE TO TO

RISK DOING THAT.

NO GEAR, NO ROPE, NO NOTHING.

ERIKA: TOO MUCH.

KELLY ANN: THAT'S A LOT OF

INFORMATION.

SPEAKING OF A LOT, WE HAVE BEEN

SEEING A LOT OF RAINFALL LATELY

AND THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WILL

HAVE MORE OF AN IMPACT.

WE ACTUALLY HAVE HEVIER SHOWERS

MOVING IN.

WHAT WE SAW THIS MORNING WAS NOT

THE END OF IT, ALTHOUGH WE DO

HAVE A NICE LITTLE LULL OUT

THERE.

WE HAVE A LOT OF CLOUDS IN

PLACE.

THE MAIN RAINFALL IS SOUND TO

OUR SOUTH.

WE ARE TRACKING AREAS OF

THUNDERSTORMS MOVING OUT OF NEW

YORK.

WE WILL HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON

TH.

WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS COULD SEE

A RUMBLE OF THUNDER OR TWO.

LET'S MOVE IT -- LET'S BREAK IT

DOWN WITH THE FUTURE CAST.

WIDESPREAD CLOUDS.

THE EVENING COMMUTE IS LOOKING

DRIVE.

WE JUST HAVE A FEW SPOTTY

SHOWERS.

NOTHING COMPARED TO THE MORNING

COMMUTE.

BE PREPARED TO PUT THE

WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON FOR A

MOMENT OR TWO.

IT WILL NOT BE A COMPLETE

WASHOUT.

HEAVIER DOWNPOURS LOOKING TO

PUSH THROUGH AND IF WE ARE GOING

TO SEE THUNDERSTORMS, THAT IS

SOMETHING WE WILL HAVE TO TRACK

AT THIS TIME OF NIGHT, MAINLY AS

WE MOVE INTO WESTERN

MASSACHUSETTS.

TEMPERATURES ARE REALLY STAYING

RATHER STEADY.

WE WERE IN THE 50'S ALL MORNING

LONG, STAYING IN THE 50'S

THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AND WE

WILL DROP A DEGREE OR TWO.

MANY OF US WILL BE FALLING IN

THE LOW TO MID 50'S AND THAT IS

QUITE OF THE COOLER THAN WHERE

WE SHOULD BE THIS TIME OF YEAR.

AT WHEN MOVE INTO TOMORROW

MORNING.

SHOWERS FULLBACK IN.

IT WILL BE ANOTHER WET MORNING

COMMUTE.

SHOWERS WILL STICK AROUND

TOMORROW AFTERNOON, EVEN INTO

TOMORROW NIGHT.

HEAVIER RAINFALL PUSHING INTO

THE AREA.

WE DO SEE SOME HEAVIER SHOWERS

LOOKING TO DEVELOP.

WITH ALL OF THE RAINFALL AND THE

CLOUDS, KEEPING OUR TEMPERATURES

VERY COOL AND TOMORROW IS

LOOKING EVEN COOLER.

THAT WILL BRING THE POSSIBILITY

OF NEAR RECORD COLD HIGH

TEMPERATURES.

BOSTON, THE FORECAST IS 54

DEGREES.

THE RECORD WAS SET BACK IN 1926.

WE ARE VERY CLOSE.

WE ARE FLIRTING WITH THAT RECORD

COLD.

THAT'S ALSO THE CASE IN

WORCESTER.

THE RECORD COLD WAS 51.

THE SEVEN-DAY FORECAST, MORE

SHOWERS TOMORROW.

CHECK THIS OUT.

WE LOOK TO SEE OVER AN INCH OF

RAINFALL FOR MANY LOCATIONS.

THAT'S A WHOLE LOT OF RAIN.

MANY LOCATIONS HAVE SEEN AN INCH

OF RAIN FROM LAST NIGHT MOVING

THROUGH THIS MORNING.

WE HEAD INTO THE LATER PORTION

OF THE WORK WEEK AND WE SEE THAT

SON BREAKOUTS.

WE HAVE THE SOUTHWEST WIND

KICKING IN.

THAT WILL GET THE TEMPERATURES

CLOSER TO WHERE THEY SHOULD BE.

EVENTUALLY BY THIS WEEKEND,

THERE ARE THOSE 70'S AND THAT IS

WHERE WE SHOULD BE.

WE WILL HAVE THAT SUNSHINE IN

PLACE.

THE ONLY THING WE WILL HAVE TO

WATCH FOR WITH THE HEAT AND

shipping <3

ohhh ohmygosh ;O

i'm so excited for this free expedited shipping service

kev: 3 2 1 GO

*rossini's semiramide overture plays*

umu: so we're starting our marathon of BTS WINGS album which is the latest album that the group BTS put out

so what we're doing is we're going to be watching first seven videos

that are individual teasers for each solo song in the album

each member heavily participated in writing/producing their own solo song and the rest of the songs in the album

each film uses lots of imagry and quotes from the book Damian

have you guys read that? by any chance? no? ok

so we're starting with Jungkook's short film

and his song in the album is called Begin

nao: so we're just watching solos?

umu: teasers for the solos and then the whole song we'll be watching next year

haVE FUN it's SO CONFUSING!

lets go kev: i love it yun: ok

jar: lift off

pey: *clears throat*

shi: music and artist for healing

hen: the...realms

kev: words

yun: they're trying c'mon

fio: *whistles along*

hen: you don't even know what he whistles :OO

linds: that instrument was just playing the same pitch that he whistled (talking bout a person practicing in the next room)

kev: *gasp*

oh gosh

yun: aaHHHH piano on fire

hugo: mistreatment of musical instruments

1-800

save-that

piano

LOL

shi: *reading* "because the dawn right before the sun rises is the clearest"

nao: darkest

shi: darkest

"15 year old me..."

pey: aw this is not getting off to a good start

nao: you can hear the suspense.. shi: "I had...nothing"

hugo: there's a really low bass going on right now oH f****

shi: oh

nao: i don't like horror films

is this going to turn into a horror?

there's gna be like a jumpscare shi: if something pops up i'm gna-

hugo: i'm really curious as to what the music is going to be like

hen: soo good and so terrifying

fio: it's artsy

pencil?

what

*gasp* the pianer

jar: it's like a spacial...kind of experience type of sound which is like

jar: like a music kind of sound pey: yeah

pey: going back from rain and being underwater

linds: i feel like i'm gna cry

i don't know why...already

it's-it's affecting me

jar: it's very kind of...

sensual experience you know playing at everything

nao: that's creepy shi: yeah

kev: that's a D!

guys

fio: hashtag aestheticcc

nao: hes gna get......

stabbed

hen: bird

da birb *gasp* da birb is on his shirt

!birb!

<3 birbs <3

<<33 i love birbs <<333

jar: whaatt pey: woah

gwen: i'm gna guess this motif is gna be birds

yun: are those all Ds? kev: yes

wo-well some of them with Cs

yun: yeah the grace(note)- kev: and some with Es

linds: is it over?

jar: wait what?

is that-

is that it?

davis: yo what the heck was that

pey: wow

jar: wow that's-

ouh

mm!

umu: and that is the name of the album shi: birds have wings!

nao: REALLY!

umu: there you go hen: so far

this was not a music video xD (i dID TELL YOU IN THE BEGINNING, SIR, WE WERE WATCHING TEASERS-)

exactly they took like 2 samples...he has lots of synth in his song so they took like 2 samples of the synth

the other ones are more musical but this one was a little bit less. this was one was more 'sound effects!' and 'lets confuse the f*** out of you!'

fio: it was like tone-

like it's the equivalent of a tone poem

in classical music

hen *sarcastically* wOW

fio: but not at all because it's not...but...

umu: true fio: it's like mood music

linds: i liked the rain

umu: uh huh dav: yeah

davis: it was- it was a very interesting ambiant effect linds: that was cool

linds: *ambiance

davis: anyways

the rain and the birds and uh...

linds: I liked the little, the-

the the like

shimmery kind of music that was playing? do you know what I mean?

there was some chime-y kind of things

just like- it was like background music of a horror movie almost...you know what I mean? umu: uh huh

like when they show the face dripping on the painting and they've got like this- the creepy kind of like chime-y type music going on? that's what i'm talking about

umu: well it just gets better from here on out davis: oh good

kev: you know I actually didn't notice that was a piano on fire until you mentioned it and then I didn't-

i was l-i didn't catch it

yun: yeah it was like a...

like one of those flash images like a calimanel signal?

and it was just a flash of a piano on fire and it was like- I had to take some time to process it umu: it shows up again kev: i'm sure yunyi: GOOD

YUN: THAT'S WHAT I LOVE TO SEE

nao: that was- that was interesting

i was expecting more- like- i

I kinda wanna- yeah I see why they released those i was like what the f*** was that

umu: now are you like 'i wanna hear him sing'?

umu: what this actual song- nao: well I don't care about him singing I want to see how it resolves

umu: ok. and that's what you'll be able to hear- shi: half cadence... xD

nao: yeah they always do i'm like

godammit shi: ohhhhh maaan

i didn't even realize it was music it was so sparse

umu: yeah exactly shi: was there- was there music???

nao: there was like- some like

sound effects with like

shi: is that music?

what is music?

both: it's John Cage 4:33 XDDD

umu: so in the- each song,

or in each video they use samples, so there was musical samples in there jar: mm hm cuz

there was like hints of it but it was all kinda mashed together pey: yeah

umu: is it working, is it making you curious to see more? or is it just confusing

a little bit of both pey: yeah umu: ok

it's like, you wonder what's going on and at points its' like ohh*noises*

but

*more noises*

like no words but there's like- ya know there's

question marks

umu: so the next one

this is the short film for Jimin who was the dude in the tub (in I Need U)

and this is the one that's in compound meter (stigma is too cmon umu)

but idk whether the sample they use if-

like if it's very obvious or not

yun: ok

alright

*bros being bros*

yunyi: realm ahhh

yun: he's- they're trying kev: oh is this the parents house

sister? no different

umu: this is rap mon speaking

fio: i love rap mon!

hugo: lie. what was the first one's name? gwen: begin hugo: begin. k lets start

yunyi: begin lie kev: man that doesnt look real

kev: oh yun: THAT'S BECAUSE IT'S NOT

NAO: except it's a painting as opposed to a closet

nao: the lion the witch & the wardrobe?

jar: he's vlogging!

linds: wow

davis: yeah I really like the contrast their doing with the whole negative and then the....regular

jar: you know it's kinda ya know on your way to your classes

how you look calm, but you're dying on the inside? pey: basically

and then you actually are dying

kev: I want to screen these

yun: these are so artsy what the heck kev: yeah

yun: wow kev: I wanna screen these on a big projector

pey: mm get it boi

nao: actual music!!

kev: man he's so pretty (:O kev your bias is showing)

and.....artsy

aesthetically

fio: sounded like a gun shot

gwen: this is awesome hugo: this is so cool

dav: compound meter indeed linds: it feels like duple compound

hen: yo this music's like good tho

pey: you like get groovin and then they're like NO we taken the groove away

kev: man so much rewind-

awh

jar: whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat pey: woooooooooooaaaaaahhh

cinematography at it's finest

oh wait it's like

the things are lifting like he's getting out of the lie and realizing the truth

pey: yeah jar: that is reality

that sucks

yunyi: those are such kev: HOLY SHIT yun: colors

shi: "please stop me"

nao: "please guide me"

shi: save me

nao: from my demons (naoki what's that voice)

hen: woah

nao: also he's wearing crosses in his ears

he's also wearing PJs

fio: that was cool hen: pls stop me pls guide me pls let me breathe

like the sound, when it went out of focus

nao:...because he's in a mental asylum

hugo: f*** they're doing such a good job of deprayiing- uh

not depraying uh

displaying...depression

nao: naw i'm liking these

hugo: OH look and see now they've got 1 out of 4 now done

btoh: OHHHHHHH

YUN: THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL (god i hate caps lock)

yun: WHAT

shi: it kinda reminds me of- nao: they're really engaging

reminds me of modern art

yun: it was just...

so gorgeous, so artsy, so beautifully done all around

kev: so there's a part near the beginning where clearly sounds like something being rewinded

kev: has anyone-

re-winded that?

to hear what

it sounds like? umu: it's the

i believ- it sounded like music right?

like *dadadaddada*

but it's re-winded it's eeeehhhrrrreeeerrr

umu: yeah it's the guitar kev: ooh i did a good impression

there's like a hispanic guitar or like salsa- not salsa

almost salsa-y (dont quote me i suck at genres)

and so they took that clip and re-winded it so it sounds even more frantic

kev: ook umu: so it is...that's guitar form the main track

cool

jarod: i think the first thing we saw was that thing that was on fire that was hard to make out- kind of just like the music was and it just like stopped and then this thing on fire and then it went back. It was only there for like

like maybe a second at the most

it was like....hm

umu: what's cool is they do reuse the imagery and the sound effects

jar: mhm umu: listen for those- used in every single one it's just like

whatdoesit meeean

jar: exactly

umu: oh yeah what do you think of that song the little clip that you heard of it?

nao: there was one really cool uhh

resolution umu: mhm

i wasn't sure if it was a modulation, but it just came out of nowhere and that was pretty cool

umu: now we're on to the

3rd film

so this one's stigma this is Taehyung

jar: alright

321go

*noises*

pey: big hit- music and artist for healing

(cuuuuute)

hugo: *mind blown* holy crap

davis: this is gna be deep

i can already tell

hen: to live and bleed fio: that's awesome like-

idk

hen: what is he doing?

fio: he's carving his name into it

pey: i know I would fall all over my tongue trying to recreate-

pey: woah jar: what the heck

yun: colors in each shot are so beautifully done kev: very distinctive color palettes for each of the characters

hugo: i like thier use of sound bits, not just music hut like gwen: yeah

shi: are they playing chess?

yun: WHO DESIGNED THE SETS

WHO DESIGNED THEM!!!! ;A;

THEY'RE SO PRETTY

kev: oh yeay i love this

fio: nervous he's a nervous person

yun: it's that chord again

hen: p nice chords just kind of 1 - 5 but they're kind of like spacey

pey: ohmyg jar: pop chooords

jar: woahhh deceptiive

hugo: ooh

hen: that bass

yun: was that the virgin mary in his eyes?

kev: i couldnt tell

shi: so he's getting beat rn

i see

fio: i like this

pey: such contrast between the funky beat and the dark images Ah

jar: i know

hen: this 12/8 like- minor jam <3

well 6/8 i should say

jar: oh! she's got lil- some bruising pey: man...somebody f****ed her up

jar: oh!

both: "why were you like that to me?"

fio: this is such a mystery hen: fiona why were you like that to me fio: i'm so confused

nao: aww shi: DOOOOOGGGGGGGG

HEN: PUPPERS DOGGO MMMMMMM

both: AWWWW (etc)

hen: OHMYGOD THAT DOG IS SO CUTE

nao: aww<3 (look @ shimon's face tho)

fio: i miss doggos

hen: *dying* i do too

*still dying* noo pupper

yun: oh that high note holy shit

nao: i'm liking the music tho

shi: DOGG

jar: i feel bad for bumpin

pey: yeah jar:but this beat is killin

pey: cant help it

yun: I want more music cmon I want more music! kevin: nonono this is perfect

yun: ohhmygod!

umu: WHAT DOES THE DOG SYMBOLIZE

SHI: love

nao: innocence because it's a puppy

shi: dammmn

and it's white nao: yeah, innocence

purity

davis: i kinda liked...that one...it was a little bit different

the arrested thing looked like cuz he was doing stuff with grafitti

davis: in the other 2 like you notice like it would start off with a lot of like stark like black and white and then it would transfer into a lot of color

and this one did the opposite

linds: yeah I like that too davis: it started off really like- linds: (STOP INTURRUPTING EACHOTHER) especially with the grafitti

and then there were only a couple shots in there that really had color like the one of him

with his

sister and davis: mhm exactly

so i think it was kind of

reversed...it was it was different

i liked that beat

that was a nice bass-y

linds: i definitely paid more attention to the video than the music on that one just because his story I feel like

is the one i remember the most from

the like...short films that we watched (HYYH)

umu: you guys liked the music in that? fio: m hm

are you wanting to hear the full songs for these?

eventually hen: yeah

umu: i think i'll be showing all their singles (next year)

naoki:...... HE K ILLED A MAN

because he ta- it had a bohemian rhapsody reference cuz he was like 'pls forgive me for that crime'

yes, bohemian rhapsody shi: i don't think they referenced bohemian rhapsody nao: that was definitely bohemian rhapsody

shi: but i don't think they referenced that- naoki: it was an homage

shi: i don't think so nao: it is definitely

but he did kill someone, he killed his dad

so you're right but it's not from bohemian rhapsody naoki: because they said 'mama, just killed a man'

it's- that's what it is shi: but i don't think it's an homage

jar: this probably has nothing to do with

the actual storyline but I feel like because that guy was a killer, they had to give him a killer beat

*lol* jar: you know

im just sittin there like

yaa his life is screwed but

pey: we gotta give him a sick beat! jar: dank tuunes

woBBLE like that's all I wanted to do i'd have to like almost watch it again just to like not focus on the beat, but the problem is i'm just gna be focusing on the beat

that's probably one of the most- tightest groove i've heard in like in a kpop song

ya know?

like some other stuff is head bangin but that was just like

thiqq

yun: wow that track was amazing kev: i think i think the way- well idk if that's what the final track sounds like but the fact that the piano comes first and then dut

and then it gets build and builds and you get some fancy chords in there

and then, and then it's great

yun: no but just the falsetto vocals like (umu now you gotta stop interrupting...)

all the way through

and uhh umu: piano first (GODAMMIT UMU LET YUNYI TALK)

yun: yeah the falsetto vocals and like

the R&B grooves = WOW X2

umu: do you guys also want to hear this full one yun: YES

that track was so hot! ok? we needa hear this one

hugo: ohh mna that was so good and his singing was so good right in there

but oh man just the oh gwen: wow this was so amazing (idk what's wrong with the audio sorry)

hugo: like I - that's one of the few songs where like

you have a moment of silence with just vocals

Fight Over Land In Florida Between Church Of Scientology And City | NBC Nightly News - Duration: 2:20.

WE GET MORE FROM NBC'S KERRY SANDERS. >> Reporter: JUST A

SHORT DISTANCE FROM THIS PICTURESQUE WATERFRONT SITS A 1.4

ACRE PATCH OF DIRT, A FLASH POINT IN A FIGHT BETWEEN CHURCH AND

STATE. THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY OFFERED

$15 MILLION TO BUY THE LAND. INSTEAD THE OWNER SOLD

IT FOR A FRACTION, $4.25 MILLION. THE BUYER, THE CITY OF

CLEARWATER. >> I THINK THERE WAS RELIGIOUS

DISCRIMINATION WITH RESPECT TO THE CHURCH, AND THAT THE CITY

SOMEHOW MADE THIS INTO A SCIENTOLOGY ISSUE, WHEN IT DID NOT NEED

TO BE. >> WAS THE SALE TO THE CITY RELIGIOUS

DISCRIMINATION? >> OH MY GOSH, NO. THAT IS SUCH A SILLY

ARGUMENT. IT'S OFFENSIVE. >> Reporter: SUSPICION

AND DISTRUST BETWEEN LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND THE CHURCH DATES BACK

TO THE 1970s, WHEN THE CONTROVERSIAL CHURCH QUIETLY BOUGHT LAND

HERE, ESTABLISHING ITS SPIRITUAL HEADQUARTERS.

CHURCH LEADERSHIP SAYS THE LAND WAS PART OF A $60 MILLION EXPANSION

THAT WAS TO BE BUILT WITH THE CITY AS A PARTNER.

THE CHURCH PRODUCED AN ANIMATION SHOWING HOW IT FIT INTO A MASSIVE

RETAIL AND ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX, BUT NOW, WITHOUT THE

LAND -- >> IT'S DEAD, BECAUSE IT WAS PART OF A

PARTNERSHIP, AND THE CITY REJECTED THE PARTNERSHIP.

>> IF THEY DON'T WANT TO GO FORWARD, THAT'S UP TO THEM.

WE ARE COMMITTED TO REDEVELOPING OUR DOWNTOWN, AND THAT

WHOLE RETAIL PICTURE IMPROVING IT. >> Reporter: THE OWNER

THAT SOLD THE PROPERTY TO THE CITY, THE CLEARWATER MARINA

AQUARIUM, A NON-PROFIT MADE FAMOUS BY THAT GAL OVER

THERE, WINTER, THE DOLPHIN. TWO HOLLYWOOD MOVIES

LATER, THE 1.4 ACRES HAD BEEN PART OF A TENTATIVE AQUARIUM

EXPANSION. THE AQUARIUM COMPLETED THE SALE OF THE LOT TO

THE CITY IN APRIL, ARGUING IT WAS THE BEST USE OF PUBLIC

SPACE. >> WE WERE GOING TO GO WITH THE CITY BECAUSE

THEY WANTED TO BUY THE PROPERTY. WE'RE A COMMUNITY

PARTNER ALSO AND THEY

Woman Helping Lead Charge Against Elephant Tusk Poaching In Africa | Megyn Kelly | NBC News - Duration: 10:32.

FEELS PASSIONATELY ABOUT SAVING THESE ANIMALS, SHE'S MOVED HER

FAMILY TO KENYA. HARRY SMITH REPORTS.

>> Reporter: IN KENYA'S SAVO NATIONAL PARK, SPRING RAINS HAVE

FINALLY COME, THE GRASS TURNED GREEN ALMOST OVERNIGHT, AND JUST

AS QUICKLY, THERE ARE ELEPHANTS, MORE THAN A HUNDRED THIS DAY,

DRAWN BY INSTINCT AND MEMORY, ACROSS THE LANDSCAPE.

YES, THEY LOOK RED, FOR RED IS THE COLOR OF THE EARTH IN THIS

PART OF AFRICA, BUT THE SIGHT OF HEALTHY HERDS CAN BE DECEIVING.

THE ELEPHANT'S EXISTENCE IS THREATENED AND MANY FEAR THE

ELEPHANT IS NEARING A TIPPING POINT.

THE MOMENT IN THE LIFE OF A SPECIES WHEN NUMBERS CAN'T

SUSTAIN SURVIVAL. THERE'S AN ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE IN

NAIROBI. HERE THERE ARE DOZENS OF ORPHANS

WHOSE MOTHER HAVE BEEN KILLED. THE CHILDREN, COLLATERAL DAMAGE.

>> WE'RE HERE TODAY AND WE SEE SOME OF THE WOUNDS, THE DWUN

SHOT WOUNDS, THE SNARE WOUNDS, BUT HUMAN INFLICTED WOUNDS AND

THESE YOUNG INNOCENT BABY ELEPHANTS ARE THE VICTIMS OF

THAT. IT DEFINITELY DRIVES THE

IMPORTANCE OF IT HOME. >> Reporter: FAY QUAFEIS IS AN

EXTRAORDINARY WOMAN, AN AMERICAN WORKING FOR THE INTERNATIONAL

FUND FOR ANIMAL WELFARE. IFAW.

>> ONCE THEY'RE RELEASED INTO THE WILD, THERE ARE MANY MORE

THREATS, AND VARIABLES, BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, THE ELEPHANT

HAS TO SURVIVE. >> Reporter: TENS OF THOUSANDS

OF ELEPHANTS ARE KILLED EVERY YEAR FOR THEIR TUSKS.

IT'S THE IVORY THEY'RE AFTER. THE POACHERS ARE USUALLY LOCALS

WHO KNOW THE TERRITORY, HIRED BY OTHER AFRICANS, CONNECTED TO A

CRIME SYNDICATE THAT REACHES ALL THE WAY BACK TO ASIA.

FAY BRINGS A UNIQUE SKILL SET TO KENYA.

SHE'S A LAWYER AND A LIEUTENANT COLONEL IN THE UNITED STATES AIR

FORCE RESERVE, AN INTELLIGENCE OFFICER WHOSE STOCK IN TRADE IS

FIGHTING TERRORISM AND FINDING BAD GUYS.

TOGETHER WE WALK PATROL WITH A UNIT OF THE KENYAN WILDLIFE

SERVICE, STATIONED DEEP IN THE BUSH.

THEIR COMMANDER HAD BEEN KILLED BY POACHERS JUST WEEKS BEFORE.

>> WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PATROL?

>> VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE PATROL.

IT'S A REMOTE OUTPOST FOR SURE. THESE GUYS ARE LIVING IN TENT

CONDITIONS, BUT WE HAVE A FINE SENIOR NCO WHO IS LEADING THEM

TODAY. WHICH IS FANTASTIC.

EVERYBODY'S SHINY BOOTS, CLEAN WEAPONS, FULL CLIPS, READY TO

GO. >> HOW DO YOU MAKE THE LEAP FROM

I'M DOING THIS INTELLIGENCE WORK, TO I'M GOING TO MOVE TO

KENYA AND WORK TO FIGHT ELEPHANT POACHING?

>> WELL, IT WAS TWO YEARS AGO TODAY, ALMOST NEARLY TO THE DAY

THAT I SAW MY FIRST ELEPHANT IN THE WILD, AND IT'S NOT AN

EXAGGERATION TO SAY IT CHANGED MY LIFE.

>> I'VE WATCHED YOU WATCH ELEPHANTS.

WHAT DO YOU SEE WHEN YOU SEE THESE ANIMALS?

>> WELL, YOU KNOW, ELEPHANTS ARE A MATRIARCHAL SOCIETY.

AS THE MARK YARK, SHE HAS BEN-OF-MANY RESPONSIBILITIES,

SOME WE WOULD CONSIDER TO BE TRADITIONALLY FEMALE.

SHE'S A MOTHER, BUT SHE'S ALSO A TEACHER IN THAT IT'S HER JOB TO

TEACH ALL THE ELEPHANTS IN THE HERD SKILLS.

SHE TEACHES THEM CHARACTER. THERE'S A PRIDE AND A CONFIDENCE

BALANCED AGAINST A COMPASSION AND EMPATHY AMONG ELEPHANT HERDS

THAT'S JUST ASTOUNDING. >> WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO

KNOW THAT THIS ANIMAL IS UNDER ASSAULT?

>> IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME THAT I'VE RELOCATED MY FAMILY TO

NAIROBI, KENYA, IN HOPES THAT WE CAN BE PART OF MUCH BROADER

EFFORT TO SAVE THEM. BECAUSE TO LOSE THE ELEPHANTS,

WHICH ARE ON A PATH TO EXTINCTION, YOU KNOW, WE HAVE

NOTHING BUT HUMAN APATHY AND GREED TO BLAME FOR IT.

AND THAT TO ME IS AN INESCAPABLE TRUTH.

>> FAY IS CONVINCED MILITARY TACTICS AND TECHNOLOGY WILL MAKE

A BIG DIFFERENCE HERE. AT EVERY STOP SHE WAS LIKE A

SPONGE, SOAKING UP LOCAL INTEL. >> THE QUICKER WE CAN COLLECT IT

AND DEPICT THE DOTS ON THE MAP, AND KNOW WHO TO ATTRIBUTE THE

CRIME TO. >> Reporter: DETAILS AND DATA

THAT BUILD INTO ELF FANT-SAVING STRATEGIES.

THE COLONEL IS ON A MISSION. WHILE HER MILITARY BACKGROUND IS

HIGHLY VALUED, EQUALLY VALUED ARE HER DIPLOMATIC SKILLS.

AT AN HONORED GUEST NEAR THE MASAI MARA PARK.

THE MASAI ARE A KEY ALLY IN THE FIGHT AGAINST POACHING.

FAY ENVISIONS A DAY WHEN A MASAI HERDSMAN WILL BE ABLE TO GIVE A

HEADS-UP IF POACHERS COME INTO THE AREA.

WE TOOK THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED FOR A FIVE-HOUR JOURNEY.

IN TRUTH, LITTLE MORE THAN A DIRT TRAIL, THAT WITH AN

OVERNIGHT TRAIL TURNED INTO A STICKY TRAP FOR OUR VEHICLES.

GETTING STUCK IN THE MUD WAS NOT GOING TO STOP FAY.

OUR DESTINATION, THE MASAI'S SACRED FOREST, HOME TO THE

TRIBE'S HIGH HOLY MAN. >> THANK YOU, SIR.

AND WE APPRECIATE YOUR LEADERSHIP ON THIS ISSUE.

[ SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE ] >> HE'S ON BOARD TOO.

>> THAT WAS INTENSE. FOR HIM TO ENDORSE A COMMITMENT

TO STOPPING POACHING, IT WAS THE ULTIMATE SUCCESS.

>> Reporter: AS ONE OF THE OLDEST SURVIVING CULTURES ON THE

PLANET, THERE IS LITTLE THEY DON'T NOTICE.

>> THAT WARRIOR KNOWS THAT AREA BETTER THAN ANYBODY.

HE KNOWS, YOU KNOW, EVERY BEND IN THE RIVER.

HE KNOWS WHERE VEGETATION IS. HE KNOWS BY LOOKING AT A RAIN

CLOUD WHICH DIRECTION THE RAIN WILL MOVE AND HOW LONG IT WILL

LAST. >> Reporter: FAY IS NOT ALONE IN

HER FIGHT TO SAVE THE ELEPHANTS. IN OUR TWO-WEEK TRAVELS ACROSS

KENYA, WE WERE OFTEN AWED AND WE FOUND OTHER WOMEN, LOCAL WOMEN,

WHO ARE MAKING A DRAMATIC DIFFERENCE.

IN KENYA'S NORTH COUNTRY, WE MET A KIND OF COMMUNITY

ORGANIZER/MIRACLE WORKER, THIS

AREA, INFAMOUS AS A HOTBED FOR SMUGGLING AND POACHING.

HER JOB TO, PERSUADE LOCALS IT'S IN THEIR LONG-TERM INTEREST TO

PROTECT WILDLIFE. AUDACIOUS IN THAT IT'S A WOMAN

DELIVERING THE MESSAGE. COURAGEOUS BECAUSE IT'S A GOOD

WAY TO GET KILLED. >> I DECIDED TO SIT DOWN WITH

THEM DIRECTLY. >> EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME.

YOU HAVE THIS IDEA TO COME FACE THE POACHERS, FACE TO FACE.

>> WEREN'T YOU AFRAID? >> I WASN'T AFRAID BECAUSE I

KNOW IF YOU ARE FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHT THING, YOU SHOULD NOT BE

AFRAID. >> Reporter: SHE'S CONVINCED

LOCAL TRIBESMEN TO STOP FIGHTING AND POACHING, TO TRADE THEIR

LIFE OF CRIME FOR JOBS AS RANGERS.

THESE TWO FORMER POACHERS WERE MORTAL ENEMIES, ONE FROM A

CHRISTIAN TRIBE, THE OTHER, MUSLIM.

AND NOW? >> THIS IS YOUR BROTHER?

>> THIS IS MY BROTHER. >> IN THE SAFETY OF THE RESERVE

TO THE SOUTH, WE MET WITH MANIRA BASH IR, THE KENYA DIRECTOR OF

THE NATURE CONSERVANCY. SHE REMEMBERS A KENYA WHERE

ELEPHANTS WERE EVERYWHERE, AND SHE SAID IT CAN BE LIKE THAT

AGAIN. >> IF YOU OWN SOMETHING, THEN

YOU TAKE CARE OF IT. >> IT'S BOTTOM UP, INSTEAD OF

TOP DOWN. >> BOTTOM UP AND THE WAY TO GO.

>> Reporter: THE IDEA THAT RURAL FOLKS ARE IN CHARGE OF THEIR OWN

LIVES AND ARE IN CHARGE OF THEIR OWN SPACE, HOW IMPORTANT IS

THAT? >> MAKES ME VERY PROUD AND IT

MAKES ME BELIEVE THAT THE WILDLIFE THAT IS HERE TODAY, TEN

YEARS, 20 YEARS, IT'S GOING TO BE THERE.

BECAUSE IT'S IN THE HANDS OF THE RURAL PEOPLE.

>> Reporter: KENYA IS MAKING CLEAR POACHERS ARE NOT WELCOME

IN THEIR COUNTRY. CONVICTED POACHERS RECEIVE A

MANDATORY 20-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE.

AND LAST YEAR, THIS. A CLEAR AND EMPHATIC MESSAGE TO

THE WORLD. THE KENYAN GOVERNMENT SET FIRE

ON A 100-TON PILE OF IVORY. ELEPHANT TUSKS CONFISCATED OFF

THE BLK MARKET. STREET VALUE, A STAGGERING $100

MILLION. >> WE IDENTIFY WITH THE

ELEPHANTS. >> Reporter: JUDY IS KENYA'S

SECRETARY OF THE ENVIRONMENT. >> THIS IS THE ASH?

>> THESE ARE THE ASHES. THIS IS TO COMMEMORATE THAT

IVORY HAS NO VALUE UNLESS IT'S ON A LIVE ELEPHANT.

>> Reporter: WE WISH WE COULD WRAP UP HERE WITH AN ALL IS WELL

IN AFRICA MOMENT. BUT THE NUMBER OF YOUNG

ELEPHANTS IN THE ORPHANAGE IN NAIROBI CONTINUES TO GROW, WHICH

SHOWS THE FIGHT AGAINST POACHERS IS FAR FROM OVER.

THE HOPE HERE IS COMMUNITY-BASED CONSERVATION LIKE THE EFFORTS WE

WITNESSED, WILL BE THE STRATEGY THAT ULTIMATELY SLOWS AND STOPS

THE SLAUGHTER. EFFORTS THAT SEEM PARTICULARLY

EFFECTIVE WHEN WOMEN ARE INVOLVED.

IS IT MY IMAGINE OR ARE WOMEN REALLY HAVING A DRAMATIC EFFECT

ON WHAT'S GOING ON HERE? >> IT'S NOT YOUR IMAGINATION.

I THINK THERE'S A FEMALENESS THAT'S NECESSARY.

BECAUSE WE'RE WILLING TO LISTEN. WE AS WOMEN, WE FEEL DEEPLY.

AND I THINK IT'S FROM THAT

How to stamp t-shirts - Duration: 5:22.

Hello, welcome to my channel

Today we are going to stamp

Mandalas

On t-shirts

in a manner

very easy

We started

The materials we are going to use are

Cotton t-shirts

Color fabric paint black

Silver and gold spray fabric paint

Scotch tape and masking tape

stencils

And a makeup sponge

t-shirt 1

Place the stencil in the place that we want to stamp the drawing

And fasten it to the T-shirt with tape

So he does not move while we paint

Now let's place a piece of cardboard

Inside the t-shirt

To avoid staining the back of paint

We wet the sponge in the paint

And we remove the excess by tapping a piece of paper

Let's apply the paint on the shirt by tapping softly

And be careful not to stain the part of the t-shirt that is outside the stencil

When it is completely painted let it dry 2 hours

Now that the paint is dry

We remove the template very carefully

To be the first I've done the truth is that it has been pretty good

Now we turn around

To iron it

Iron at medium temperature

For about 3 minutes

To fix the paint

t-shirt 2

Place the stencil in the place that we want to stamp the drawing

With masking tape

Let's stick strips

Around forming a hexagon

So we will delimit the part to be painted

We put sheets of paper around

To protect the area

Which is not going to be painted

For this t-shirt we use spray paint

let's spraying paint on our t-shirt

very carefully

The top with silver paint

and the bottom with gold paint

when finish let dry 2 hours

Now that the paint is dry

We remove the stencil

And the strips of masking tape

With this shirt I had my doubts as it would be

But the result the truth is that I love

Now we turn around

To iron it

Iron at medium temperature

For about 3 minutes

To fix the paint

Well guys, after ironing, we already have them ready

You can wash them in the washing machine without any problem

The only thing is that you have to be careful

Not to wash at a temperature above 40º C

And that will last you

A lot of time

I hope you guys really liked the t-shirts

That you try to do it at home that is very easy

and nothing more

Thank you so much for watching my videos.

And see you next time

see you soon

bye
