- What is up guys?
Welcome to my favorite time of year.
It's finally summer!
Summer.
I wan't to give a big thanks to Google
for sponsoring this video.
So I hope that you are having an awesome summer so far,
spending it outside, doing fun things,
jumping on the trampoline, but I'm sure a lot of you
are spending time on the internet also,
so it's a perfect time to talk about internet safety,
Being Internet Awesome, and so Google sent us a challenge
last night that was actually super fun
about being Internet Smart. (laughs)
Enjoy what happened last night,
because we had a really fun time with it,
and I hope that you enjoy it,
because it's something that we've never done
on our channel before, so enjoy.
(clapping and chanting)
- We partnered up with Google,
and they challenged us to Be Internet Awesome.
What does that mean?
That is one of Google's new initiatives that is helping
parents, kids, and teachers to have some resources
to help navigate through the world of the internet,
because the internet is a pretty awesome place, right?
Today, we're gonna Be Internet Awesome.
- The Be Internet Awesome challenge
is a celebration of being your best self online.
It's important to be careful about
what you're posting online, and to Be Internet Smart.
We challenge you to think of some of your past
online behavior, and what you might have done differently.
- Our online behavior and what we might
have done differently.
How about we go through and find some things?
- Oh no no no no no no.
(screams)
- You'll just see. (laughing)
Okay, the first one that I'd like to point to
goes back to our very first video.
Lincoln has the flu, but look how interested he is.
- He's not even blinking!
- I don't know what kind of medicine I gave him,
but whatever it was, he's focused.
Got some weird stuff on it so far.
And somebody pointed out something,
they did a timestahp...timestamp and they're like, "Lincoln, that face!"
Do you know the face I'm talking about?
It's coming.
(laughing)
What is that?
Did you see that?
It's great because this is like a memory
we can go back and watch.
But when it comes to being Internet Awesome,
when you put something on the internet,
be careful about what you post, and review things
and edit things, because sometimes things slip through.
Embarrassing moment number two.
This one goes out to Mama; are you ready for this?
This is the bowling ball video.
- Oh, I remember now!
- Let's just watch this part, hashtag grammar alert.
(saw revving)
That last part.
- [Mom] If you drop it-- - Oh man, if I put
my fingers in there, it would go so easy.
Okay, we need something to hold it from in the finger.
- [Mom] What does he need?
- Right there, that one little tiny piece.
- [Mom] There's a little tiny section?
- Hey guys, it's just London here, and we're just kinda...
It's really cool inside, if we can just see the tiny bit.
And we have another ball.
(cracking)
- Oh! - Got it.
- [Mom] Lincoln, what just happened?
- [Dan] Hey, did you break it open?
- [Mom] Yes, he just breaked it open!
- Breaked it open.
- He just breaked it open!
- Breaked is not a word.
- It's not.
So many people, I would say hundreds
and potentially thousands of people,
they are saying I needed to go back to school,
and that I wasn't smart.
- The reason why I thought it was funny
is because Leslie has a degree in Communications.
- She was only four at the time.
She continually did say breaked.
It was something that she said all the time,
and I told her not to say it,
and in that moment I was so excited and surprised
that it had happened, that I did say, "breaked it open".
- 'Cause I said, "Did it break open?"
and the first thing that came to your mind
with the stress, and she had the camera,
I'm sure it was just, naturally you were like,
"Breaked it open."
Honey, you're super smart.
- Thanks. (laughs)
- So again, Be Internet Awesome,
be nice to people on the internet.
My moment--
- I know what this is.
- is the boosted board moment.
- Hello, and welcome to New York City.
What's up, Lincoln?
- [Dan] Haha, we found him!
- This place is so cool.
- Feel free to touch anything, except for the sharp stuff.
- [Dan] All right, so we've gotta get out of here.
We're gonna go cruise on the boosted board.
- [Casey] Boosted board down!
It was you!
That boosted board fell in the river thanks to me.
I used the wrong remote, and it's gone.
Oh, man.
I took Casey's boosted board, it was not ours.
I had the wrong remote.
I thought that it was my remote, but it was Lincoln's,
because he was holding that Gold Play Button,
and so I pulled on it, 'cause there was some people,
my boosted board was way at the other end of the pier.
And so I was trying to get it to come over,
and it wasn't moving at all.
I'm like, "What is going on?"
So I pull it all the way down,
and I hear this (imitates toy engine),
and I'm looking at it, and it's still just sitting there,
but then I hear that noise, and the second that I look over
is right at the second I see Lincoln's boosted board go
underneath and (breath whooshes), out into the Hudson River.
The East River.
It was bad.
As if I wasn't nervous enough,
let's just go and take Casey's boosted board
and throw it in the river.
That didn't help.
And this is the thing about the internet.
Behind the scenes, you don't see -
I have text messages from Casey from that night.
Dan, just so you know, I'm throwing you under the bus
for the boosted board in the river,
but don't worry, it's super funny.
And I'm like, "Oh well, he's the filmmaker."
But to look through the comments, especially on his channel,
the people who didn't know who I was,
they were just lighting me up.
Everything you see in a video isn't everything that actually
happens in life, so.
We ended up sending him a new boosted board,
he didn't even ask for it.
Share with care.
- Be thoughtful about what you put on the internet.
- You've gotta be careful
about what you put on the internet.
(screaming)
- When you're trying to apply for a job in the future,
that's one of the very first things companies do,
is they go look on your online presence
and see what's out there.
- Sometimes, if you feel like maybe you shouldn't post it,
maybe wait until the next day
and then see how your feelings are,
'cause sometimes people will go on social media
and they're really upset about something,
or they're really fired up about something,
and then they'll just go and throw it out there,
and then it's out there forever,
and things can go viral these days that are crazy.
Let us know in the comments how you are Internet Awesome,
and what you do to be smart about what you share.
Let us know your tips.
There's also a link to the Google site
that talks about all the different areas
of Being Internet Awesome.
Thanks for watching, guys.
- Bye. - Thanks, guys.
