In fact, from the very first time you saw the Omni King, you knew there was something
strange about him.
Somehow, he didn't act like he was just some little kid.
In only a second, everything changed with this:
So it turns out neither the Omni Kings nor the Grand Priest were ever evil!
With this huge plot twist being thrown at us, it makes you wonder:
Why did we think the Zenos and Grand Priest were evil in the first place?
Well, #ANIFAM, think about how you felt after seeing this:
The thoughts going on in your mind were easily reflected onto the faces of all the characters
in the show.
Everyone already knew this was coming.
It's not like this was a surprise or anything.
But seeing it actually happen.
Even though we were seeing it through an animation, something clearly not real,
this moment was very unsettling.
Not only did the 2 Zenos appear to be enjoying this horrifying act,
but the Grand Priest just stood there and let it happen.
After that, it was impossible for us to look at any 3 of these powerful beings in a positive
light.
But let me ask you an important question.
Was it simply the nature of erasing billions of innocent people without a care in the world
that threw up red flags?
That told our subconscious, "Hey these people are evil masterminds"?
Or was there more to it?
Soon after the life-changing one hour special containing Dragon Ball Super Episodes 109
and 110, I spent some time browsing through the past
episodes to see if the amazing Ultra Instinct power had ever been foreshadowed.
Ok, let's be honest, I spent hours practically binge-watching the entire show again.
But imagine my surprise when I found a clue hidden all the way back in Dragon Ball Super
Episode 5!!
Why am I telling you this?
Because that was the moment that I realized the Dragon Ball Super creators are some sneaky,
sneaky people.
And as soon as the terrifying Grand Priest announced the not so evil plan the young Omni
Kings had been hiding, my thoughts instantly went back to Episode 5.
There were signs pointing to Ultra Instinct for such a long time.
That meant there had to be signs that the Dragon Ball Super writers
were tricking us about the real meaning for the Tournament of Power as well.
There had to be a reason why it was so easy for us to just let them fool us for so long,
leading us into what was probably the biggest plot twist of the entire series.
And guess what, #ANIFAM?
There were definitely signs.
One of the easiest way the DBS creators were able to so easily make Zeno's power fearsome
was by making him a child.
I mean who would you rather trust to, I don't know, drive you around in heavy traffic?
You're little 5 year old brother, or you're calm, mature mother?
As you can see, being a child and having the power to do something reckless doesn't really
mix well.
But something happened in this next scene that I bet you don't remember:
Have you ever had to babysit before?
If not, then I can guarantee you the way you just saw Zeno react to this
is not the normal response a child would've given Goku.
This scene proves that there's more to him than just being overly excited to see some
cool powers.
Matching what Whis said after the real reason for the Tournament of Power was revealed.
He might have some childish tendencies, but the Omni King is definitely a lot smarter
than we've been giving him credit for.
But this is only a taste of the clues the Dragon Ball Super creators had thrown into
the show.
In fact, from the very first time you saw the Omni King, you knew there was something
strange about him.
Somehow, he didn't act like he was just some little kid.
It was quickly made clear to us that, even though Zeno looked like a child, he held unimaginable
power.
At that time the most powerful beings we had met were the Gods of Destruction and their
teachers, Vados and Whis.
Those were the days that the characters and us viewers alike were amazed by Champa and
Beerus' ability to snap their fingers and poof!
An entire planet was destroyed.
So why in the world were they bowing down, shaking, and making pools of sweat just by
the sight of this kid?
Of course, now we all understand the reasoning behind this.
But as I was rewatching this episode, looking for any clues tricking us into believing Zeno
and the Grand Priest were evil, I found a scene that I had almost forgotten
all about.
After months and months of watching the Omni Kings change their own rules for the Tournament
of Power on the basis of a power being cool, and therefore it was now allowed, I think
we all lost our respect for Zeno as a leader.
So much so, that I personally had forgotten he actually had a job.
Being the King of All wasn't just some title.
It was his duty to make sure those under him were doing their jobs.
So not only did he have the power to erase entire universes, but also the power of reigning
over so many other people.
This is a power that has easily gotten to the heads of many rulers.
Yet, Zeno didn't seem cocky at all.
He even cracked a joke.
There was nothing giving me the vibe of someone who actually enjoyed having everyone around
him fearing him and bowing down to him.
Hence the reason he was very open to the way Goku approached him.
Not a single sign of him being evil was present.
And now that the Grand Priest leaked the Tournament of Power's true meaning in Episode 131,
you can easily see the sneaky tactic the Dragon Ball Super creators were using here.
This was our first easter egg that the Zenos' evil tournament actually wasn't so evil
at all.
But trust me, #ANIFAM, I understand the criticism you might have with this.
Details as small as these are hard to believe they're actually clues.
So let me show you this:
Do you remember the first time you saw Zeno erase an entire universe?
I'll give you a hint.
It was long before this ever happened.
It was right after Future Trunks had successfully defeated the merged Zamasu.
But their joyful smiles of victory and peace were suddenly ended.
Zamasu's laugh rang out around the entire planet.
And worse, it started seeping out across the entire universe!
Why was nothing working?!
Due to a stupid mistake, Master Roshi's Evil Containment Wave was a failure.
The multiplied Saiyan power of Vegito wasn't able to win.
And now, even after his body had completed dissipated into nothing,
Zamasu's spirit proved to everyone that the unstoppable power of immortality was something
very real.
After Future Trunks realized he could no longer sense a single soul left from this planet
other than his own and Future Mai's, they realized they had been fighting an unwinnable
battle.
But thankfully, Goku had a way to contact the one person who could override Zamasu's
invincible spirit.
Just like that, the entire Universe had been erased.
Did you think Zeno was evil after seeing this?
I know I didn't.
And the Dragon Ball Super characters certainly didn't seem bothered by it.
They even went back to pick up the Future Zeno so they could give the present Omni King
a friend.
So what's the difference?
Why was this universe erasure totally fine, yet this one was terrifyingly sad?
And does this difference hold a clue as to how the DBS creators tricked us into thinking
the Zenos were evil?
Well consider the circumstances surrounding both erasures.
Although they had become enemies of Universe 7, the other fighters in the Tournament of
Power weren't really evil opponents.
Just like Goku and his friends, they were simply fighting against others to protect
innocent people.
By the simple act of ending these innocent lives, there was no other way for us to look
at the Omni Kings except as an evil being.
With Zamasu, on the other hand, even Future Zeno realized how corrupted that universe
had become.
It was infected with a pure evil spirit and it was something not even he wanted to stay
in existence.
In this case, the Omni King was closer to a hero.
He had just done the same thing Goku had done to Frieza and Majin Buu.
Seems like the King of All actually had morals, doesn't it?
Oh, you say he has morals, ItsAnimeGirl?
Then explain this!
This is around the time rumors started going viral all around the internet about the Grand
Priest's evil plot against Zeno.
Ever heard of King Edward VI?
He became the King of England at only the age of 9.
You really think they let him dictate how the entire country was gonna be ran?
Exactly.
They formed a council who would help him rule the country until he turned 18.
And in the same way, someone who's both powerful enough and immature enough to play
a game using real life planets like marbles probably needs a wiser person helping them
to make the right decisions.
Enter the Grand Priest.
It's not like they ever state it right out in Dragon Ball Super, but it definitely appeared
that the Grand Priest was playing this role for the young rulers.
Leading so many of us to have such high suspicions of him.
Can you imagine how easy it would be for the Grand Priest to manipulate Zeno?
Here's an important scene I want you to pay close attention to:
