Google Sheets has several date functions built-in that just extract

different parts from a date. They go in order. They're pretty obvious once you

see the first few. YEAR, MONTH, DAY, HOUR, MINUTE, SECOND. A date and a time in

Google sheets can have all of these elements or just a few and they're

represented by a number. Let's use this chart to figure out exactly what's going

on behind the scenes when Google sheets is getting a date. The first example

is just regular date typed in with slashes. Sheets sees this just like you

would expect it would to, July 30th 2016. Underneath, it's really just 42,581

which is the way sheets stores numbers so that it can do arithmetic on them.

If you format it as a date you're going to see July 30th. The next one shows

that if you use dashes it still recognizes it. The third example is the

way that you type in an exact date and time into sheets. I did it by using

slashes like what's in row 7 and then just typing in the time. It's able to

extract all of that and if, for example, you just want the hour, it gives you the

hour in military time. It's 1400 hours. There's no AM and PM so it has to use a 24

hour day. The next example shows that you can type it in in English and

it'll recognize it in the exact same way that it does in rows 7 & 8.

Row 11 is going to show you how it does times without a date. When it

does a time, it puts it at 1899. This is a starting point for Google sheets where

it starts its serial number for a date. If you go before this, it uses negative

numbers. If you use no date, and just a time, it puts you in 1899, at December 30th,

1899. This function is kind of interesting because I'm combining things.

Here I use the NOW function which returns what it is right now. You can

tell I'm doing this on a Sunday afternoon and it's splitting

that apart. If I were to refresh this and come in later, that second value would

change. Actually, let me refresh this right now and see what happens. 14 16 33 I hit

F5 to refresh it, 14 16 28. I think we just traveled back

in time. Oh, there we go. It refreshed. The NOW function - you're

watching it live, how it works. Pretty cool. This is the TODAY function and it

returns just today's date. If you look, the hour, minute, and second are blank.

For 8, it's purposely blank and that shows you that if it's blank it's the

same as typing a zero. Let me type in a zero - still December 30th 1899. If you

just move that up by one it moves you to December 31st of the same year. If you do a

quarter, this will just help you understand how it stores time a little

bit better. It's still that 1899 date but if

you format this as time. If you made 6:00 a.m., which is a quarter of a day, you

can see that here as well - 6 a.m. Also, I thought it was interesting if I

just type in a number because underneath it's actually working in

numbers. We type in 43,000 and Sheets can tell you, if this was a day, it would be

September 22nd, 2017.

Google Sheets – Using Dates and Times in Formulas - Duration: 5:34.

If you use the Google Sheets and you're trying to work with dates or times in

formulas, you're probably noticing that it doesn't really work the way numbers

would. Oftentimes, you'll get an error in the formula or it'll give you a result

that doesn't make any sense. We're gonna go over three ways that you can use

dates and times in formulas and it will work every time. Each one of them is a

little bit different and you can use them in different situations. Each

one of the solutions is easy so whichever one works for you. You could

start using right after you watch this video. For the first one, I'll just give

you an example what doesn't work. Hey December 31st 2017, let's just

stick without and show it doesn't work. If you hit enter, it thinks that you wanted to

divide 12 by 31 by 17. It doesn't even have to be much of a formula. This is

just a one value formula and it already breaks down. But, you can see what

happened. What you have to do, use the equal sign again to say I'm using a

formula, just put it in quotes. "12/ 31/17", close the quote off, hit enter, and then

you have a date. You'll notice it also shifted the value to left. Sheets will do

that with a date as opposed to a number that it will put to the right. Let me

throw in a time as well. I'll make that formula just a little bit more

complicated. Let's do 12/20/14 at 1:00 p.m. If you put

quotes around that, oops I forgot something, and I could I could tell

something was wrong because it wasn't all green. I forgot the quote at the

beginning. Let me erase a little bit I of this and I'll just keep

typing. You see, it's telling me everything's good right now because it's

green. It recognizes everything and the little value that's in the pop-up here

is telling you what's going to happen if you hit enter right now - 1:00 p.m. I

hit enter there it is, valid time.

I'm gonna go to the right of the quote and subtract another date or time

value. I'm just gonna do this one, just with a date, so it's gonna make it

midnight and a hit enter. That worked. You can see the amount of time between

these two is about a year so 345 you know is probably the right value.

Using quotes is the first way. The second way to work with dates and times in a

spreadsheet is to type them into a cell or have them in a cell already first and

then reference them with your formula. If I start the formula here and I just

subtract these two, it knows it's 365 days. It's not going to say 1 because the

default format is to display number of days and, underneath, these two

dates are just stored as numbers of days. So, when you subtract the two, the result is

naturally 365. You can also do this with time. If you do 12/31/17

at midnight, which will be the same as the value above, and you go into this

formula you change it to B5, the result will be the same. The third and final way

to use dates in spreadsheets or times is to use a date

function. Let's act like you have dates listed in a table in a large

spreadsheet and say this is the month this is the day and this

is the year. You can turn those into a date by using the DATE function.

The DATE function looks for a year, looks for the month, and the day. When you close

it off with parentheses and hit enter you get March 4th 2017. If I copy and

paste that formula below, it's gonna figure out the May as well.

You can embed that DATE function within a longer

formula to work with two dates. Another thing that we can do, let's go

into this, and you can really use any date function. We're going to use the

NOW function. Let's subtract the amount of time between March 4, 2017

and now. NOW needs an opening and a closing parenthesis because it is a

function, but you don't need anything in there. If you hit Enter, that's the result

of that. NOW gives you the date and time. If you just want the date do TODAY. Boom! This

gives you three different ways to work with dates and times in your formulas. You

have using parentheses if you want to type it in, you have using cell references,

and you have using date functions. So I hope that was helpful. If you want to

see written instructions on it, just go to the website that's in the upper right

hand corner and you can follow it through on there.

No major foreign policy change made through N. Korea's parliamentary meeting - Duration: 2:33.

North Korea's latest grand parliamentary meeting was looked to provide some clues on possible

changes on foreign policy or nuclear program, as it followed Kim Jong-un's remarks on summits

with Seoul and Washington.

But that wasn't the case, in fact the regime's leader didn't even show up at the event.

Oh Jung-hee delves deeper to find out why.

This year's North Korean Supreme People's Assembly meeting came only two days after

the ruling Workers' Party politburo meeting where,... for the first time,... North Korean

leader Kim Jong-un, officially mentioned scheduled summit talks with Seoul... and the possibility

of dialogue with Washington.

So much attention fell on whether Pyongyang could, through Wednesday's Supreme People's

Assembly meeting, stipulate changes in its foreign policy or stance on nuclear weapons,

as the parliamentary body rubber-stamps decisions made by the Workers' Party.

But rather than that,...

Wednesday's Supreme People's Assembly session ended just as a simple, customary meeting.

And North Korean leader Kim Jong-un did not attend the event.

In the past, he has missed only two such sessions out of eight.

"Kim has already confirmed his summits with Seoul and Washington at the party meeting

two days before the parliamentary meeting.

So he rather chose not to show up... and display that he's pouring all his efforts on preparing

for the summits.

There are strategic reasons as well."

Also, unlike how Pyongyang used to make constitutional or organizational changes that could hint

at the regime's foreign policy stances,... no such moves were made this year.

In the case of last year,... the regime formed a foreign affairs commission to improve external

ties.

"The North may have thought that it could seem like it's succumbing to outside pressure

if it makes a noticeable message through the parliamentary meeting.

But it wants to show that situational changes on the Korean Peninsula occurred thanks to

its own policy, not international economic and military pressure."

The expert added that Pyongyang may want to stay cautious... because it's not 100-percent

sure about the changing atmosphere.

Now what's to watch for is whether the North will bring up the word 'denuclearization'

domestically.

Experts say,... from early this month,... North Korea's official newspaper Rodong Sinmun

has continuously stressed 'fulfilling ancestor's teachings'... which is a different way of

talking about denuclearization in the North.

Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.

What Are The Risks Of Breast Augmentation - Dr Joseph Fata - Duration: 1:13.

Every surgical procedure carries some form of risk and breast augmentation is no exception.

But fortunately, the risks associated with it are quite uncommon.

General risks, ones that would be seen with any surgical procedure, include issues with

the anesthesia, bleeding, infection, or problems with healing and scars.

More specific to breast augmentation, there's a small chance of some loss of sensation of

the skin of the breast, and also the long-term risks of either a leak or a hardening of scar

tissue, called a contracture, both of which are quite uncommon.

Fortunately, our implant company offers warranties that will cover most of the costs of correcting

any long-term problems.

I'm Dr. Joseph Fata.
