Breaking the "On the Grid" Chains. Pallet Chicken Coop, Meat Rabbits, Raised Bed Gardening - Duration: 6:43.
As
the Sun rises over the sprawling city of Cincinnati with a population of nearing
300,000 I'm waiting to start my day in my neighborhood a nearby suburb it
Seems to me since leaving my life of full-time RVing that around the house there are always
Projects and tasks to accomplish in order to reach some level of self-sufficiency and in turn
Blissful domestic harmony, which I really hope to achieve one day
My first task on this particular morning is to continue a chicken coop that I am building from free
Pallets that I picked up the day before these pallets besides being a great price
Also are easily used to erect quick sturdy frame work for my plan to chicken coop
but
For what is saved in the cost of material is spent in time and effort it takes to deconstruct and ready the pallets for use
in your project
At times
Walden or Colleen will ask me what I am doing if I'm just sitting and looking at my project and not working on end I
at first jokingly in the style of Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society
Have them cup their ears and put my fingers to my lips for quiet and say listen
The wood is talking to me telling me what it wants to be made into
but I've come to find that what I said in jest is more true than I have first gave credence I
Have been building so long from discarded damaged and reclaimed wood that I collect because it's free or nearly free
That my designs come more from what I have on hand
Than from what I can plan and build using materials that I would have to purchase new for the job that needs done
It's like going into the kitchen and opening cabinets a few days before you go grocery shopping and making what you can
From what you find?
It's not the meal you would have planned but sometimes. It's even more delicious
I think that some of the things that I have built of which I'm most proud are happy
Accidents of the material that I had on hand
The coupe on which I am working as you can see I'm dry fitting in the driveway
I'll be building it on posts about three feet off the ground when I do a permanent build I
Will also be building a wire chicken run to protect the chickens from predators as well as a structure to hold our meat rabbits
Now I'm not sure what wild predators
I will have to deal with here in the suburbs
But I did see a neighbor's cat carrying a wild bunny out of the woods beside our house
So I figure better to err on the side of caution and make sure the chickens and bunnies are safe and sound
I
Break up the day and try to turn some of the soil in the place that we've cleared
Mostly Raquel and my mother-in-law, which I call mother her name's Mila
Have cleared
For our raised bed kitchen garden the trees that you see growing all around
Have dense root system that doesn't lend itself well to turning the sod
And is also full of stones, and it's mostly clay
This combination prompted us to try our hand at raised bed gardening at least initially
Part of the way through the day I get out my chainsaw for some further clearing of the downed trees and brush
But decide to take a few minutes to enjoy my coffee and have a little break before getting to the job
After a time of clearing I decide to walk around the property and down to the small Creek at the back
I've never really been back here, but I can see now that it was used as a trash receptacle
Just another task to add to the myriad of tasks to accomplish in the future
I
Decide to stop and look under a rock
Thinking what life maybe here in our little Creek, but maybe it's still a little too early in the season
But even in the midst of man's apparent lack of respect for nature is still finds us worthy to give us a gift I
Hope that I can convey that to my kids

The XBOX 360 :: TECH in a MINUTE | It's a Pixel THING - Duration: 4:10.
Development of the 360 began in early 2003, time when Peter Moore, former President of
Sega of America, joined Microsoft after pulling the plug on the Dreamcast's manufacturing.
Initially known as Xbox 2,
Xbox Next,
Xbox FS
and NextBox,
the Xbox 360 was finally unveiled on MTV by May of 2005, right when I bought my first
original Xbox.
I was finally able to embrace Microsoft's brand-new console three years later,
by September of 2008.
It was on a kind of trading campaign in where we were requested to take an old system, plus
two or three games, and we could bring home an Xbox Arcade for only 49 euros.
Yeah, I traded my fully working good-old, and mint, silver PS2 for the Xbox 360…
So, by then, I was desperate to try Baja: Edge of Control, that was exclusive to consoles
and still my favorite on this particular system, so this trade came at exactly the right time!
Later also got a free 20 GB hard disk directly from Microsoft that was, a couple of years
later, replaced by a bigger one.
Its first units suffered tremendously from overheating resulting on the infamous "red
ring of death" and forcing Microsoft to extend the 360's warranty to three years.
Two major hardware revisions followed:
the 360 S – also know as the "slim model" – released in 2010,
and, three years later, the 360E arrived showing off the design of the 360's successor,
the Xbox One.
I still have my original model of the 360, running and working flawlessly, and, as I've
mentioned a couple of times, it's one of my favorite consoles ever, not only for the
amazing first and third-party titles available, that were, most of the times, better than
on its main rival, but also due to its superb controller that is, for me, one of the best
ever made until then.
Also, back when it was released, the 360 introduced new features to the video gaming scene, like,
for instance, HD graphics, matchmaking, achievements and gamer score, friend lists, a market for
indie games and the revival of retro games, just to name a few.
The Kinect also left a huge mark in gaming history that blew everyone away and became
the fastest selling consumer electronic device in history, also helping to extend the life
of the 360.
Obviously that I haven't played everything that was out for the system, and most of these
titles are multiplatform.
Nonetheless, even those that I've played, for instance, on the PC, have a kind of a
nice vibe that makes me come back to the 360 version, like, for instance,
Grand Theft Auto V.
So, guys!
Let me know, down on the comments section below, your favorite titles for the Xbox 360!
You'll certainly have a bunch that I've never tried before!
Looking forward to hear from you!
In the meanwhile, feel free to browse the channel for more awesome stuff
from It's a Pixel THING.

The US attack on Syria is completely legal and utterly moral Here's what Trump's - Duration: 3:17.
The US attack on Syria is completely legal and utterly moral.
Heres what Trumps critics need to know
President Trumps calibrated and courageous decision to join France and Britain in striking
chemical weapons targets in Syria before dawn Saturday drew support and opposition from
members of Congress.
Opponents have argued he should have sought congressional authorization for the military
action in Syria.
They are wrong.
President Trumps action to attack Syria was exceptionally well-grounded legally.
Self-evident moral authority supports using any reasonable means to protect innocents
from the moral outrage of chemical weapons.
Ahead of the attack, Vice President Mike Pence personally notified House Speaker Paul Ryan,
R-Wis.; House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.; and Senate Majority Leader Mitch
McConnell, R-Ky.
He could not reach Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
He confirmed the limited nature, objectives and duration of the Syrian strike.
As Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and other U.S. officials made clear, America and our
allies mounted a one-off attack to deter any future use of chemical weapons by Syria,
a prerogative fully supported by international law.President Trumps thoughtful, well-planned,
narrowly drawn and superbly executed strike on Syrian chemical weapons facilities wasted
no time, ordnance or lives.
Its purpose was clear, well-stated and well-served.
It should be non-controversial.
Still, he is attacked.
Neither President Trump nor anyone in his administration has suggested the onset of
a long American military combat commitment in Syria.
But U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley reaffirmed Americas resolve
to prevent any further use of chemical weapons.
She said Saturday at the U.N.: I spoke to the president this morning, and he said,
If the Syrian regime uses this poisonous gas again, the United States is locked and
loaded.
Nevertheless, leading Democrats have been vocal in demanding congressional approval
for any U.S. military involvement in Syria.
Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., the Democratic nominee for vice president in 2016, was quick to tweet:
Trumps decision to launch airstrikes against Syria without Congress approval
is illegal.
We need to stop giving presidents a blank check to wage war.
Today its Syria, but whats going to stop him from bombing Iran or North Korea
next?Kaines tweet is legally inept, and all but laughable, given that President
Bill Clinton husband of Kaines 2016 running mate, Hillary Clinton undertook
a long series of air strikes in Kosovo and elsewhere, without any congressional authorization
or pretense to getting it.
Lets cut to the nub: The 1973 War Powers Resolution was intended to dissuade presidents
from long-duration combat engagements and insertion of large numbers of U.S. troops.
The law grew out of a decade of U.S. combat in Vietnam.
It presumes to require that presidents get congressional approval for military combat
operations if they last more than 60 days.
Most legal scholars consider parts of the law unconstitutional.
Presidents of both parties have generally demurred.
No president has acceded to the laws constitutionality.

Hungary Thousands march in anti-Orban demo in Budapest
Tens of thousands of people have demonstrated in Budapest against the re-elected right-wing
government of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Opponents of Mr Orban flooded the capital on Saturday to protest at what they say is
an unfair electoral system.
A similar number of people attended a pro-Orban demonstration last month.
The protests come just six days after the governing Fidesz party won two-thirds of the
parliamentary seats with half of the national vote.
Mr Orban is a strong Eurosceptic who campaigned on an anti-immigration platform.
Hungary's Eurosceptic PM wins third term The man who thinks Europe has been invaded
The march was organised through a Facebook group called "We are the majority".
Following the large turn-out for Saturday's rally, the organisers have called for a further
demonstration next weekend.
BBC correspondent Nick Thorpe reported from Budapest that around 100,000 people attended
Saturday's protests.
Many were brandishing Hungarian and European Union flags.
A large number of police were deployed in the capital, including riot officers, however
the demonstration remained peaceful.Speakers who participated in the event denounced what
they called Mr Orban's theft of the election, and the corruption and abuse of power they
say characterises his rule.
Asked about the prospect of forthcoming demonstrations, Mr Orban simply replied: "We won, that's it."
The organisers of the anti-Orban protests have demanded a recount of all ballots, a
new election law, a non-partisan public media, and better organised co-operation among parties
opposed to the Fidesz government.

Comey reportedly wishes he'd found 'better way' to describe Clinton's email use - Duration: 2:45.
Comey reportedly wishes he'd found 'better way' to describe Clinton's email use
Former FBI Director James Comey reportedly says in his upcoming book that, given another
chance, he would try to avoid calling Hillary Clintons handling of classified information
as secretary of state extremely careless. According to Axios, Comey writes in "A Higher
Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership" that there are things he wishes he had done differently
in announcing that the FBI was not recommending charges in its probe of Clintons use of
a private email server.
At the July 5, 2016, press conference, with a presidential election just months away,
Comey gave a lengthy statement criticizing Clinton but ultimately explaining the FBIs
reasoning for not recommending charges.
Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended
to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence
that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified
information, he said at the time.
But in A Higher Loyalty, Comey says the wording -- which clung to Clinton throughout
her doomed campaign -- is one of the things he would change, along with waiting until
the end of his remarks to say he was not recommending charges.
"[I]f I had it to do over again, I would do some things differently.
I would avoid the 'Seacresting' mistake by saying at the beginning of my statement that
we werent recommending charges, he said according to Axios.
More important, I would have tried to find a better way to describe Secretary Clintons
conduct than 'extremely careless.'"
It is not clear from the extract whether he would use softer or stronger language to describe
Clintons behavior.
In the extracts, Comey also says he intentionally wore a gold tie so he wasnt displaying
the red or blue colors of the respective political parties.
He also says that he wouldnt have changed his broader conduct, but I can imagine
good and principled people in my shows making different choices about some things.
COMEY HINTS AT DAMAGING MATERIAL INVOLVING EX-AG LYNCH 'STILL UNKNOWN TO THE AMERICAN
PUBLIC'
On Friday, ABC News reported that Comey says he became the public face of the investigation
partly because of a development still unknown to the American public which he felt could
raise questions about then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch's independence.
Had it become public, the unverified material would undoubtedly have been used by political
opponents to cast serious doubt on the attorney generals independence in connection with
the Clinton investigation, Comey writes, according to ABC.
He calls the material a development still unknown to the American public to this day.
"A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership is due to be released on Tuesday.
