In this video I'll be sharing my travel experience of Kapu Beach which is near
Manipal (India). Hey Guys :D. Welcome to "Life Thoughts Camera" channel, as I mentioned
in the beginning this video is about my time spent at Kapu Beach which is
located in Manipal District that is in the state of Karnataka (India). I will
cover details which include information about the beach and if you are any
attractions also what to expect which mainly people ask for is availability of
food. Let's get started. This was one of our main sightseeing spots during our
Manipal trip. It was barely an hour drive from where we stayed which was "Fortune
Inn Valley View" that is right next to Manipal University. We travel by Zoom
car which is a self driven car, it took us almost an hour because a lot of road
repair work was taking place making the traffic move very slowly.
The Kaup Lighthouse which is also called Kapu or it's either pronounced as Kapu
Beach in Tulu language is near Udupi District in Karnataka. This
nineteenth-century British constructed lighthouse is located on a beach which
lies on the shore of the Arabian Sea. It has also been featured in many movies and
ads too. Personally I was very happy that no shooting was happening when we went
because then we would be blocked from entering particular areas. This
lighthouse is still operational and gives locational direction to fishing
vessels during night time.
I was a bit excited as this was our first lighthouse
visit, we parked our Zoom car were the security guard guided us upon getting
down I could see that the authorities had made an entrance area, the walkway
was paved and it also had shade area where people could sit and relax.
After few steps I could also spot a small Shack that served food which turned out
to be a start of shacks all in a beeline I could actually hear the water now a
few more steps and there it was the beach. The energy that was given out as sounds
and waves made it feel more like an ocean instead of this Arabian Sea I
rushed out into the beach and dug my toes into the sand, as I panned my view I
spotted a wide long structure it was a lighthouse in the far right end of the
beach after the stones and boulders. We walked all the way to the end passed all
the shacks and also found out about the washroom it was at the end of the
property and no boards, weird right? I stood at the bottom of the steps took
a deep breath and started the climb I was happy to finally reach the
lighthouse only to find out that is open at a certain time which was from 4 p.m.
to 6 p.m. Guys what do you think should such a
timing be kept. Leave your suggestion in the description box below. So we all sat
on the rock itself for a while you actually get a good view on both
the sides and guys I really suggest what i'm about to share, try to get a spot on
the top rocks where you can view the water hitting the bigger boulders which
are much deeper located in the sea, watching the waves hit the boulders was
really pleasing every now and then someone would ooo and aah at the sites, it was
really nice and then after spending a few minutes on the rocks we descended
back down to wash the puppy at the beach . The cutie pie was really playful and the
Mom just wanted to nap it was also very fascinating for me to watch how animals
adapt to regions like these dogs were digging the beach making a good-sized
trench and then sleeping inside them since I was curious I too dug a bit the
sand way down was much warmer I guess they were trying to get some heat it was
a bit chilly when we went and the Sun to was setting. Finally it was time for
opening I climbed up all the way, we bought our tickets and started to walk upwards
almost hugging the wall hugging because the stairs were not wide enough to
accommodate two lines and few people who are already on the way down. During the
entire climb my husband was behind me lending me a hand
during my climb. We reached the main platform which
housed all the huge Mechionary it was a massive chunk of thing you know for a
light and if you compare to how anything is made now you know small as possible
well we had to wait for a long time here too as people from the next level above
us we're coming down and the stair path beyond this point had room for just one
and the clincher it was way too steep almost felt like I was using a ladder so
heads up guys do not wear anything like a lungi, saree, skirt
and well you get the point. Finally we got our turn and made our way
up it was a very long wait accommodated with a lot of grumbling as I stepped out
the door and onto the platform outside I was suddenly a different person
I was happy oh my god the 360-degree view from top of the lighthouse totally
made the trip worth it seeing the sea roaring and so strong from
way up it looks so much different from ground level and since it was almost
evening time all the colors were coming together I could not just walk them but
see them for miles the hues of the green coming from the soothing vegetation
which was just swaying to the calm breeze and then the yellow from the
sun's rays also the blue from the dancing of the waves and much more
I also spotted a tiny strip of backwaters going inland the water looked
completely different it was dotted by Coconut trees on either side and it was
calm all of a sudden this was again a weird sight for me. And that's it guys,
