monetization on YouTube. Duane here
with how to grow on YouTube TV and in
this video I'm gonna show you the signup
process for when you need to get
monetized on YouTube. So that you know
what to do and what to expect. But before
we get started I have a quick message.
Once again my name is Duane with how to
grow on YouTube TV and on this channel
we talk about everything you need to
know to be successful on YouTube. This
includes how to start a YouTube channel,
how to do keyword research for YouTube,
how to get more views, how to get more
subscribers and how to make money on

it comes to monetization on YouTube you
actually need one thousand subscribers
and four thousand watch hours. So in this
video I'm gonna kind of show you the
process to get started if you've met the
requirement of one thousand subscribers
and four thousand watch hours or if you
haven't met the requirement I'm still
going to show you what you can do when
you're ready to get monetized on YouTube;
So that once you meet those requirements
of 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours
your channel will automatically be
reviewed for monetization on YouTube. So
stay with me
and I'm gonna jump on my laptop and show
you how to get started in regards to
monetization on YouTube. So give me one
second and I'll see you over on my
laptop. Alright so when it comes to
monetization on YouTube you need to
actually make sure that you have four
thousand watch hours and one thousand
subscribers. So I currently use vid IQ to
help me with this and as you can see
here this is a subscriber count on my
channel how to build credit TV and on
the left here this is my watch hours. So
I actually have the requirement for
4,000 watch hours and I have 1159
subscribers at the moment when I made
this video. So it actually took me a
little over 6 months or actually a
little under 6 months. So I actually
created this channel back in March, March
11th 2018. Let me see if I can find it
for you guys here. Alright so here we go
the channel created March 11, 2018. I
actually uploaded my very first video
March 25th so I didn't start right away.
But if you're going to start a YouTube
channel I would encourage you to upload
the video as soon as you start the
channel so in other words maybe if
you're doing some research maybe use
another YouTube channel. But definitely
don't start the channel that you want to
monetize until you're ready to upload
your first video. So that way you can
get all the time that you can have to
make sure that you're making videos and
putting them online and basically you
know hit the ground running. So I just
want to show you guys here, it is taking
forever to get to it I want to show you
guys that I uploaded my first video
March 25th. So you can see down here
March 25th and like I said I opened this
account on March 11. So today's date is
September the fifth. So I met the
requirement a little under six months
and I'm really excited. Another thing is
that I actually did sixty-five videos. So
I did a lot of videos in the beginning. I
did like two videos a week and then I
started doing three videos a week. And so
I was just really aggressive because I
really want to meet this requirement and
I wanted to get subscribers as soon as
possible. So I was just like super
aggressive out the gate. So anyway once
you do that and you meet the
requirements so you want to monetize
your YouTube account. You basically just
go to the channel tab here on the left
in the dashboard. So I'll click on
channel and then after you get to that
and you click on the monetization tab
right here or not the tab but it says
right here monetization. Click on enable
and it's gonna bring up this page here
and of course you got to complete this
you got to read and agree to the YouTube
Partner Program in terms. So I hit start
and I'm a quick reader so I read all
that and I'm gonna check all these boxes
here. I'm gonna go ahead and leave that
check where it says email with updates
announcements and personalized tips to
help grow my channel. I'll leave that and
I'll click on accept and it's alright
here we go and then sign up for an
Adsense account. I already have an adsense
account.
It's free to have, it's with Google. You
go to google.com/adsense
and so I'll go ahead and click start on
that and connect that account.
Okay so I'm in my Adsense account here
I'm gonna go ahead and click on accept
Association. Like I said I already have
this account so this is pretty easy for
me but if you don't have an adsense
account just go ahead and sign it up
sign up for an Adsense account by going
to google.com/adsense. So
I'll hit accept association and then it
says redirecting to your host.
Okay good so you guys saw that there was
a balance in that account that balance
is a very old balance. I used to have a
couple of websites back in the day and I
had some other YouTube videos so I have
a $61 balance in my google adsense
account that I actually cannot get until
I meet the payment threshold which is
$100. So that money has been in there
anywhere from 2013 all the way up till
now. So I'm gonna finally be able to get
that money out once I start making some
money here with my monetization on
YouTube. So all right so I'm done with
step one and step two and I'll hit step
three hit start. Okay I'm gonna go ahead
and it says monetize all existing and
future videos and it's showing me the
type of ads that they're going to be
playing in the video ad formats. So I'm
gonna leave everything checked of course
and I'm gonna click Save. So I'm just
showing you guys what the process is
when it comes to monetization on YouTube
and kind of what to expect. I'm not quite
sure why it's saying that I'm under here
it says I have three thousand nine
hundred and ninety four minutes and I
need four thousand in order to get
reviewed. So I guess I'll come back in a
couple of minutes or so and finish the
rest of this video. I'm not sure like I
said why it says three thousand nine
hundred and ninety four I thought I had
the four thousand. According to vid IQ
here it says I have the four thousand
and I also checked my minutes elsewhere
and I was over the two hundred and forty
thousand minutes but anyway give me one
second and I'll come on back to this and
finish the video. Okay so what I did was
I waited until the next day today
September the sixth today is Thursday
I'll show you that here on the bottom of
the computer. And so I waited till today
to see what would happen in regards to
my watch hours. So as you can see here at
the top right of the screen on vid IQ it
says I have four point one thousand
watch hours. And of course my subscribers
are more than they were yesterday I
think yesterday in the video it was
11:59. You can rewind and check that if
you'd like but now so finally my minutes
are upgraded or updated to four thousand
and seventy four. So when
to monetization on YouTube you
definitely want to make sure that you
have your 4,000 watch hours and your
1000 subscribers. And for me personally I
did over 65 videos and I did it in six
months a little under six months so I
created the channel on March 11th and
today is September the 6 so a little
under 6 months. And yeah, pretty much
that's it I'm going to be waiting to
hear back from YouTube. They said that
they're going to email me when my
channel is approved and and or if it's
not approved they'll email me. So thank
