Hello everyone and welcome back to the Software Pulse

This is the weekly news segment all about the latest software and updates that have been released in the market

So I really apologize before we begin if I sound a little under the weather

I've not been feeling very well the last two or three days so my voice might be a bit hoarse

The first of this week's news is ever don't again now

obviously I did this week a feature about Evernote death spiral specifically the TechCrunch article there was

Looming around the internet but a couple more pieces have come out since one piece in particular

Leaked some of the job losses that have happened to Evernote according to this article 15 one five percent of the work force

Has been dropped which equates to

54 jobs at Evernote now the CEO has made a statement sort of outlining why this has happened so I include both links in description

But again, this doesn't really play very well as they sort of get this bad news cycle out of the way

I am almost finished on the ever no subscriptions video probably reposted Monday or Tuesday

Well, almost gone Gmail inbox March 2019

It will be dying Gmail have decided that this experiment is four year experiment is now over

This is something that I sort of hand in the back of my head. Anyway, slowly in the latest released of Gmail

they obviously included a lot of features like snooze and

And a couple of the visual features the inbox hand and now inbox doesn't really have that much relevance

So of course, although it is sad to see it go

It will be going in March 2019 suggests to let you know in other news Mac poor have also released

Clean my Mac X. This is the 10th anniversary

Some of the other big ones so you're probably wondering to do is to dark mode. When can I get it?

I believe the due date to launch is Tuesday the 25th

So next week, which is quite exciting. You can get dark mode available on iOS Android and pretty much every other device

It'll roll out and I've got an article waiting

I'll have an article waiting on key productive vlog if you're looking at a work out how to activate. So guys

Notion notion have released a smaller update. I believe it's at 1.7, but they haven't actually put the number out on their blog

Basically, it focuses on the relations in the database allowing you to connect up important databases and make it a bit more interactive

When you're planning out stuff visually, they've also introduced page locks, which is very helpful in case you're sharing new things

So for example if you don't want anyone to edit it

Or you just want it to be a static page then you can do so that actually makes a lot of sense

They've also introduced a host of new code block languages as well as the ability to improve the view on hidden column boards

Inside of notion. So guys, of course, we know that iOS 12 result was released this week. I believe it was Monday or Tuesday

I can't really remember now. They don't blend in and one run of it

So I do have the video coming about the iOS 12

productivity features some of the smaller things they've added it's more of what people saying as a

Sort of speedier update so they focused on their sort of stability at the platform

But I will be doing a feature on on shortcuts include the video that

Christopher lolli me and him are doing in : very soon has done on shortcuts. It's literally being posted

I'm not really watched yet. But now I trust Christopher's fantastic opinion

so I'm gonna put it in the cards above you they'll probably pop up someone I will also be bringing in a

zapier or zapier

So guys a few final updates any do have launched a few new look changes

This wasn't really publicly put out to some extent. They obviously released it through the app updates and things like that

But again, this is a really nice addition to the na-do platform

AMAZING Animals With Real Life SUPER POWERS!! - Duration: 11:02.

Animals that basically have super powers Number 3 will shock you!

#10 Salmon.

Salmons are one of the only fish species in the world that are anadromous.

They are born and raised in freshwater, and when they matures they swim out to the ocean

and live in salt water!

Then when it comes time to make their own salmon babies they head back into fresh water

and the circle of life continues.

This is super impressive because there are almost no other species of fish that can survive

in both water types without buying.

For a human that'd be like being able to survive both on earth and in space.

Most of the avengers can't even do that!

Just Thor and debatably the Hulk, we're not 100 percent on that and its a wildly contentious

issue.

The Salmon travel a very very long way back upstream when they spawn - How are they able

to navigate back home?

One theory from fish nerds, is that salmon are able to use Earth's magnetic field to

find their way back to the mouth of their native river.

Which basically makes them Magneto mixed with Thor.

They can also change their skin different colors - this is mainly to attract a potential

lover.

Color can vary from almost white to light orange.

That's like me after a day at the beach.

#9 Dragon millipede Desmoxytes, commonly known as dragon millipedes

are found in Asia.

These millipedes have a bright pink color, which is a strong warning to other animals

to stay back.

Nothing says "I'll will end you" like hot pink" And you really should heed their

caution.

These creatures have glands that produce hydrogen pie a tide.

If you step out of line with a Dragon Millipede and their gland juice gets on you it will

prevent your cells from using oxygen and thats bad news bears because oxygen is like super

Well his life came to an abrupt conclusion when he swallowed some pie a tide in Berlin

Horned lizard Don't judge the horned lizard by its odd

appearence or tiny stature.

These lizards are little deem funs!

They have a unique and tear a flying skill that isn't found anywhere else in the animal

kingdom.

Horned Lizards can moot mud from their eyes.

Yes they are like a more terrific but cooler version of cyclops.

When an and Emmy approaches, this lizard will squirt some mud from their eyeballs to the

enemy's mouth.

The lizard remains unharmed and runs to safety.

Even though the mud is not toys in us it takes 15 minutes for an enemy to recover from the

Which makes sense they're probably petrified that they just took a shot of mud in the mouth.

Jellyfish

Everyone wants to stay forever young and the next animal on the list is one step ahead

of us.Ocean nerds believe that the Turritopsis, colloquially known as the "Immortal Jellyfish"

can live forever!

The jellyfish can transform from an adult back to a baby and not only once - but over

and over again.

This only happens when a pang sir is near so instead of Beth jellyfish decides to transform

back to a baby.

It's done by transforming all its existing cells to a younger state.

The jellyfish turns itself into a bloblike cyst, which then develops into a polyp colony,

essentially the first stage in jellyfish life.

It's cells are completely transformed in this process.

It's not quite clear yet how the jellyfish achieve their amazing age reversal.

It's been speculated that the creatures have very effective repair mechanisms that allow

them to age without incurring the usual ravages of time.

These little jellies are truly remarkable.

Even Superman gets old!

Bore or frog Also known as a hairy frog.

When threatened, the frog deliberately breaks tones that then protrude like claws through

the skin of the feet - just like wolverine!

This is not completely unique in the animal kingdom since some salamander's can do similar

things but the bore or frog takes it just to a next level.

The end result may look like a cat's claw, but the breaking and cutting mechanism is

very different and unique among vertebrates.

Another thing that makes this frog's skill extraordinairy is the fact that the claw is

just tone and does not have an outer coating of keratin like other claws do.

Just an all around savage animal!

#5 Manis shrimp

This is one of the most colorful but also most dangerous creatures living under the

sea and it's packs a punch as powerful as a 22 call a bear bowl it!

The Manis Shrimp is like the Mike Tyson of the sea with an unequivocally devastating

right hook.

In less than three-thousanths of a second the manis shrimp can strike tray with 1,500

newtons of force!

How much is a Newton?

No Clue!

But according to scientists, if humans could accelerate our arms at 1/10th of that speed

we'd be able to throw a baseball into orbit.

The Manis Shrimp struts around the ocean floor and just obliterates anything it its path,

tabs, oyters, octopus no one is safe!

Because of its prodigious more sir sticks we have to give the Manis Shrimp the Incredible

Hulk award!

Keep on hulk smashing little guy!

#4 Sea cucumber

This creature looks like a sausage but it has a few useful tricks up its sleeve when

confronting tread at hers.

We're going to begin at the end.

If threatened by a tread at hers, the sea cucumber can moot their lungs out of their

hey nest.

Hey you got some junk in your trunk.

Oh that's just my lungs.

The jettisoned organs act as a distraction and they actually grow back.

But the process takes weeks so a sea cucumber can't go around tooting out its lungs every

time it's in dang sir.

The Sea Cucumber can also transform.

These fibrils link together, creating a scaffolding through the body that acts like protective

#3 Electric eel Don't be fooled by the misnomer, this ''eel''

is actually a fish – and it's skill might not awe but it will certainly shock.

This creature has multiple cells along its body that create a charge of up to 500 volts.

The typical current produced in an electric eel attack is around 1 amp.

I consulted google about what amount of volts is main sir us for a human and it informed

me that 30 volts get you into the manger zone.

There are only a very few incidents where people have tried from a shock of the electric

eel but multiple shocks could cause a person to stop breathing or go into heart failure.

So if you're ever snorkeling and see one of these guys swimming around, then for real,

make like a seel and don't feel that eel.

Unfortuntaely for the electric eel, the Xmen that it's most like is Jubilee.

#2 Reindeer In Europe they're called Reindeer, in North

America they are known as caribous.

In the north pole they're called Santa's little helpers.

Their special power is that if there is a reindeer that's different from the rest

they will laugh and call him names and they will never let them play in any reindeer games.

Just kidding, they have eyes that change colors every season.

So reindeer are like Mystique, In the summer the color of their eyes is a crisp golden

yellow and during the winter time it changes to a deep blue.

Reindeer can also see in ultraviolet light.

Basically all other mammals including humans could never do this as our optical lenses

don't let UV light through.

In fact to much UV light is damaging and can temporarily burn our retina.

You think they having UV vision would make it easier for reindeer to see on a foggy Christmas

eve.

#1 Snakes Some snakes including pythons and rattlesnakes,

are able to see in the dark!

They are equipped with infrared sight.

These serpents have holes in their faces called pit organs, which allows them to detect infrared

radiaton from the warm bodies of their tray.

This makes aiming their strikes much easier and more bam aging.

So if you're walking around at night under the jungle canopy, you won't be able to

see past your nose.

The Python on the other hand can see exactly where you are and what parts of your body

are most vulnerable to a bite.

They're the real world version of the tread at hers.

Godzilla toys we unbox them and a lot of these are new figures from 2015 2017 and

New Giant Box Of Godzilla Surprise Toys 50 Gallon Action Figures vs Jurassic Park Unboxing WD Toys

it's great to see you today today I have a big huge 50 gallon box

full of Godzilla toys many of these are brand new I have not opened them in a

while I've got 2018 and 2017

Godzilla toys so let's go ahead and open these up so this is earth Godzilla

I ordered this one from Japan yes it says Godzilla 2018 looks like a

budget writing in Japanese it is PVC by being dyed so this is the earth Godzilla

which is really cool its arms move its legs move it's got these big huge blue

spikes they are soft I do got one of these in Monster arts which I'll show

you in a little bit that one is a nice hard one but this one is a really cool

earth okay our next 20:18 one is another one I bought

straight from Japan from Bandai this is the 2018 King Ghidorah and it is totally

awesome check this guy out so let's first check out the tag it does

say 20:18 in Japanese writing band ID so

this one the wings will turn it's flexible so you can turn the wing so the

silver is out like that or if you want you could turn the wings so the gold is

like that if you turn it outward it does look Allah doesn't look like the

heads will actually swivel or anything but here you've got the big golden head

here you've got the mecca head with some type of weapons on top and glowing green

eyes and then you've got the other golden head here on this guy's legs

on the bottom like you see his wings do pop off like that for poseability

you think it would you could I guess you can spread the next out like this if you

hold it for a little bit it'll stay more spread out so really cool 2018 vidura

and then next I've got 2017 monster series this is servo so serve up this is

a vinyl one one it's like one piece I mean nothing moves I a bunch of red eyes

big he's got arms legs big colored wings and they feel really cool we have 2017

servo okay then here we have 2018 mecha godzilla which I bought straight from

Japan like I said I haven't opened these up guys up in a while I've had them

sitting for a while ah it seems like my viewers are not all that interested in

it's a 2018 toy so it's the 2018 toy of the 2004 mecha godzilla so it looks

awesome the head will turn 360 degrees he's got

yellow eyes his arms boo-boo this is a vinyl figure but a lot more movement

than a lot of the Godzilla vinyl figures but he is beauty also Wow so this is

actually the first time I open it up and I am super impressed this is one of the

coolest mechagodzilla's I got okay the next I have another new one this is a

2016 millennium Godzilla once again by me and I so there's another one I

ordered straight from Japan it looks awesome

he's got the big huge like purple spikes here his arms swivel here they don't

move there so it's arms swivel back and forth there which is because he's like I

don't care come and get me I'll eat you and then legs so I actually have one of

these which I'll show you in a little bit in the monster art so I do like that

one a lot but a great paint job I mean for a vinyl

figure this one has great detail awesome okay then I have another awesome 2081

this is violent ease oh this guy is wicked looking so it does say 2018 by

all aunty there I mean he is Wow he's like a mix of some type of mythical

creature and alligator or something so this guy's head will turn 360 degrees

the tentacles move out and they have like teeth they almost look like they

are heads so they move all the way back and forth like

so this is a band I won and bioiogy looks totally awesome and wicking it wow

that is cool you can see like flames here on the chest so that is one big

cool-looking violin to be there for a vinyl figure news and then let's go

ahead and take a look at some of the other Godzilla fingers I have because I

have quite a few so here we have another

so this is an earlier one the way dude you've got three heads this one there is

no mechanical heads so they are all the golden eggs and two spike tails then I

have my favorite Godzilla this is a big huge NECA Godzilla

I mean the movement on this guy is awesome so it was made by NECA the mouth

does open and close the head moves the arms move the legs move he moves at the

knee the feet move and a big huge flexible tail here multi-jointed tail so

you can move it all wrong this is probably the coolest Godzilla I

have and it has sound

so if you push this pipe here you get the sound so this is one totally awesome

hey guys the ones that work package like the one I just showed you and the others

I'm showing you I do have full unboxings reviews and a lot of battles here is

another one I have not opened up yet I got this one a while ago this is the

smash and strike Godzilla so it says try me so I guess if you push

this okay so it's got like puppeteer movement if you push it so that is

exactly what it says smashing action so you have them smash

stuff so this is Bandai from Japan and then I got some from the movie Godzilla

movie everyone loves to hate this is one of the 1998 Godzilla ones

so he's got like head moves with he roars but not very loved ah this is

the 1998 one which everyone loves to hate then I got a couple more of the

1998 ones ah you know what maybe it was terrible but I think the 1998 Godzilla

ones are really intimidating looking this one I comes with tank here it's a

remote control one so if you push the tank the tank makes a firing noise and

this Godzilla rumbles and a roars so that is a cool and then another 1998

Godzilla one which I like because it's hilarious this one has a big handle here

you could hold and he's got like spanking action haha okay he's like boy

boy you been a fan and then if you push the other button he's got like

sideswiping action so another thing cube action you push this one you had

stomping action with sound

and then one more cotton Pierre his tail sleep so I don't care what you say about

the 1998 Godzilla this one is really cool I mean with all

the different movement here I mean he has an awesome looking Godzilla and

looks like he is smashing the City Street

like if you push ok

then moving on we got a 1998 puppet from the 1998 movie let's go ahead and he

does fit adult hands and he roars okay then I got some of my monster our

Godzilla's which I keep wrapped up in here this is I believe the millennium

edition monster arts one I uh when I opened this one I actually did a

stop-motion video on and because of the detail these monster art one stabbed in

the head movement the arm movement look at the claws the spikes on his back are

super sharp if you stepped on this day at night you would not be happy

realistic looking claws I mean these look like real bird calls I mean this is

one awesome monster arc Godzilla and then we got another monster art Godzilla

this is the earth Godzilla I believe he was called from 2017

no I thought this one used because the person said it was meant the only thing

I found eat the arms pop off quite easily so I think the person who owned

this was tuning stop-motion animation videos with it so that is a little

disappointing how easily the arms pop off with this one awesome these monster

art ones do not skimp on the details and then I have another monster art ones

this is the atomic blast Godzilla so this one he comes with I think this one

is actually holding noodles head over here so this one's cool he's got the big

atomic flames on the flame on his spikes you could see right

through them and then he's got the atomic blast once again super great

detail on this and then our my biggest Godzilla this is the by the Toho Company

Limited this guy is huge I mean this guy is literally over two feet tall big huge

mouth moving arms moving legs I believe this is Jack's Pacific that makes it and

here is a look at part of his tail so once you put this guy's tail on I mean

he's like I think about three feet okay then I have Godzilla like puppet head

from like Godzilla cartoon I ordered this one actually overseas I've got some

more Bandai like Godzilla's so this is like

and then I've got some mecha ones too naked actually made very affordable

Godzilla's that in my opinion I mean they were pretty comparable to Monster

arts and about a fifth of the cost so here's one do you have a little over one

here but movement all over the place with this one like I said I have unboxed

all of these that are open and I've done full reviews and battles of them so

check out my Godzilla plateless and here we got another awesome mecha godzilla

so another awesome Mechagodzilla one with movement all over the place I mean

these guys are totally awesome and yet another that come on this is on like the

classic Godzilla I believe from 20s you can see he is and black and white just

like he was in black and white in the movie so really cool-looking

Godzilla almost a little comical looking and then I have a vinyl King Ghidorah

here with movement on the head so this one is mecha I believe it's a mecha King

Ghidorah because it's got the mechanized head there and then I have earlier mecha

godzilla that I bought this is 2016 Mechagodzilla so this guy is awesome

and then I also got another vinyl Mechagodzilla from being guy this guy is

2015 so I guess they remake these guys like every year or something not really

sure so I got the 2015 2016 and I believe in 2018 back up so they are

really cool and then I have NECA I believe I do apologize guys I mean I got

so many Godzilla's I can't keep track of all of it you guys know which one this

is let me know in the comment section as

one evil and then I have I believe this is of Mechagodzilla it's like a purple

one with the tail that's about three times the size of the actual figure so

it is like purple and black does not have movement on the head but it is

still really cool nice Holly solid heavy figure and then I have aa NECA this is

like a red I love this guy look at the flames

spikes same thing with this guy that tail is while this guy that tales about

twice the size this guy and this guy's another Mechagodzilla with the tail

there's three times your size this is like the red and black one was really

Wow and then I got a cool Godzilla from odd it's like a board game you set up

and you could have Godzilla actually destroyed the city yet you've got a full

review of that one go and check it out it's really cool and he does shoot

flames and then I've got some different versions of Godzilla from I believe the

2015 movie where he's coming out of the sea this is two of the different I do a

generation high narrations I believe of Godzilla so and then these ones I

actually bought from China these are awesome because I couldn't

find me anywhere these it's like 20 Lego Godzilla's we've got like different

colored ones all black and red red orange green blue so I got a whole bag

of these that you've got a full review of these and they are cool and then

moving on I got a bunch of the Godzilla transforming eggs so these ones do open

up and transform into Godzilla and figures that he battles against like

you've got King Ghidorah you got lost for another King Ghidorah

I believe mecha godzilla Wow there's just a lot of it and these ones are I do

open them and stop-motion animation in that video so you saw a lot of really

cool transforming it we got some mecha miniature Godzilla's here I did a

stop-motion video on those I got a bag of the little mecha action figures these

are actually like blind bags but they are super detailed so check that out

because that is a really cool video and then I also have city set with Godzilla

over here work group Godzilla actually goes ahead and destroys the city

it's got Mothra in it too this one I did a stop-motion video of

Godzilla battling villains and destroying the city and then I also have

a bunch of Godzilla ten Godzilla blind bags I opened up these ones are Godzilla

you be figuring they are they're like finger puppets then I got a

bunch more NECA miniature Godzilla's over here and then finally I have

Godzilla King Caesar dears welcome to end guys I

do that like I said I unboxed all these I got about 30 Godzilla video some

really cool battles and stuff I need your opinion what you guys want to see

guys because I really don't know what Godzilla videos we want to see what

highly advanced computer technologies some would even say that the modern age is

down to their influence, while others are of the mind that even more advanced technologies

are still being hidden.

Whatever you believe, it would seem that e.t is a pretty peaceful guy as we never hear

too much about the weapons that they have or may use or worse we may have obtained.

In this video, we will take a dive into that very topic asking what if any weaponry being

used or developed by militaries of the world has its roots based on alien craft captured

from a UFO visitation.

Files that were kept hidden by the British armed forces for decades have come to light

which gives insight into the world of espionage and subterfuge of the cold war.

As the world lived in fear of the clashing ideals of communism and capitalism it would

seem another clash was going hidden behind the curtain of political ideas.

This clash being of worlds and not ideals.

All sides of this conflict thought and feared that the other had captured and impounded

UFOs, and that they were uncovering the secrets this craft held, this to develop superfast

fighter aircraft which could hover in mid-air and be invisible to radar.

This development we now know was true with the militaries of the world openly revealing

their stealth technologies and cutting-edge warplanes during the mid-90s.

The British Ministry of Defense has released their UFO files from this time and Dr. David

Clarke analyzed these records to see what really went on at that time and what if any

technologies were obtained.

He talks about the 50 years of records that were filled with paranoid article fearing

an imminent attack from the Soviets at any time and how they may strike with a military

capability there was no way to defend against.

This technology being reversed alien tech.

This fear was ended in 1997 with the decision that the field of UFO research was leaching

resources away from more actionable intelligence sources and so the program was closed, or

so they say.

This where conspiracy creeps in with those that believe the project was not closed but

in fact, upgraded and moved to a position of higher secrecy.

So if the conspiracy is correct they would have had to have found something, what could

that be?

The RAF dossier reveals there were many sightings and events that the military took a keen interest

in.

One of these was the spotting of what is described as a mother ship over the streets of London

This was an enormous craft that displayed the ability to hover silently this leading

the intelligence agency to believe that if it were Russian and not extraterritorial then

the USSR had access to such advanced technologies as stealth, and electromagnetic propulsion

technologies.

A senior air force commander, of the time, concluded that the enemy powers must have

already gained access to a UFO, back engineered its technology and now be using it to their

own ends.

This leads him to give a definition of sighting that should be forwarded to the agency, in

this outline he requested that any craft was seen to move at high velocities, make sharp

maneuvers, and or be capable of stationary 'flight' be seen by himself and his staff.

The name UFO was dropped from the military lexicon and was replaced with the terminology

UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) So if so much time and money were plowed into

this by the British it would be fair to assume that all the other countries involved in the

cold war did the same, they couldn't afford to.

If there was the slimmest of chances that another country should succeed they would

have an advantage and this would be unacceptable.

So can we find any weapon platforms that could possibly trace back to the cold war?

What I am more interested in is the actual weaponry.

Death rays, killer robots, particle beams what armaments have been derived from alien

technologies?

The development of drones and other craft that utilize the advanced propulsion systems

would be the first step.

The new elements used to power this craft may open the doors to directed energy weapons.

These having a large advantage over traditional projectile type weapons, although that being

said a missile with the ability to travel in the same reported ways as a UFO would make

for a devastating weapon platform.

Energy weapons could be the way to go, they are good as they only need a power source.

hypothetically these weapons do not need to be reloaded or at least not so frequently,

there is the logistical advantage of not having to carry large amounts of ammunition and in

some cases the ability to be unseen when fired.

D.E.W or directed-energy weapons have been in development since the time of the reports

we talked about at the start.

These "lasers," as they are more commonly known will transform warfare because of the

numerous advantages, like those which we mentioned.

Many of these platforms are in operation today but the development has moved underground

this because of the international laws prohibiting the use of directed-energy weapons against

personnel.

These laws do however allow for the development of energy weapons that can be deployed to

defend against missile attacks and other vehicular platforms.

These weapons work on the ability that they have to burn of melt objects, this heat capability

making them very effective against the computer-driven tanks, airplanes, and other platforms common

on today's battlefields.

This is also the reason they have been banned for use against people, incineration from

an energy weapon seen as an inhumane method of killing.

As hypersonic missiles, possibly designed using recovered propulsion tech, become more

of a possibility, lasers which are capable of destroying a target at the speed of light

might be the only option of defense available and capable of protecting military positions.

November 2017, saw the U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command expressing their interest

in the testing the capabilities of lasers mounted on a KC-135 refueling tanker, this

for the purpose of defense.

In June 2017, Raytheon attached a laser on a U.S. Army AH-64 Apache Helicopter and successfully

destroyed a number of aerial targets.

At sea, destroyers and cruisers are now being fitted with lasers to defend themselves against

drones and missiles.

Ground-based systems, see the U.S. military placing lasers on short-range air-defense

vehicles.

It would seem that we are on the edge of a day when these weapons will replace the bullets

and shells of old, war will resemble a Sci-Fi movie.

Maybe the opening scene from Terminator wasn't so far from the truth?

How to Do a Perineal massage to Pregnant Women (Step by Step)

Perineal massage involves loosening the muscles between your vagina and your bottom (perineum)

during pregnancy, to prepare for giving birth.

This will help the opening of your vagina to stretch as your baby emerges into the world.

If you've never given birth vaginally before, massaging your perineum towards the end of

your pregnancy can reduce your risk of episiotomy.

It may also reduce your risk of having a tear.

Even if you have had a baby before, perineal massage can help to reduce discomfort after

the birth.

Perineal massage should focus on the inside of your vagina, though you may still feel

the skin on the outside stretching.

Here's how to do perineal massage before birth

• Make sure that your hands are clean.

You may find the massage more comfortable if your nails aren't too long.

• Choose a comfortable position.

This could be sitting or lying down, or you could try standing with one foot on a chair.

You could even try doing the massage in the bath or shower, where the warm water will

help to soften your perineum.

• Put some vitamin E oil or pure vegetable oil on your fingers and thumbs, and around

the entrance to your vagina.

• Place your thumbs inside your vagina.

Press them firmly towards your perineum and against the sides of your vagina until you

feel a tingling.

• Firmly massage in a U-shaped motion.

Move from the sides of your vagina downwards to your perineum, and back up again.

To start with, you should aim to do this for about a minute.

But with practice, you may be able to continue the massage for up to five minutes.

Start perineal massage when you are 34 weeks pregnant and aim to do it at least once a

week or twice a week.

Doing it more than this may not decrease your risk of episiotomy or tear any further.

But it could lessen the pain you have in your perineum in the months after your baby's born.

The important thing is to find a routine that works for you, and stick to it.

Perineal massage shouldn't hurt, though it may feel a bit uncomfortable, particularly

at first, or if you have a lot of pressure in your groin.

When you're heavily pregnant, it can be difficult to do perineal massage yourself.

If your partner is willing, he can do it for you.

The process is the same, although he may find it easier to use his fingers, rather than

his thumbs.

After you've been doing perineal massage for a few weeks, you may notice the skin and muscles

around your vaginal opening becoming looser.

This is a great sign that the massage is working.

It's safe to massage your perineum if you have a scar from a previous birth.

But if you have a vaginal infection, or any unexplained discharge, check with your GP

before trying it.

Massaging your perineum isn't the only way to prepare your body for giving birth.
