Finally tonight some good news the FDA might finally be ready to crack down on the illegal

sale of addictive nicotine products to children.

The agency recently announced that the use of e-cigarette devices by children and teens

in the United States has now reached epidemic proportions.

This announcement came after months of work by the agency to determine how frequently

teenagers under the legal age of 18 were able to buy nicotine-filled e-cigarette devices

across the country.

The FDA found that retailers both online and in-person were failing across the board to

properly ID individuals seeking to buy e-cigarettes and nicotine vaping juice, creating a two

million new nicotine addicts in this country.

Two millions.

And they're all under the age of 18.

Nicotine's considered the fifth most addictive substance on earth.

The FDA has so far failed to properly regulate e-cigarettes and vaping devices, but this

new information that they've gathered should give them plenty of reasons to get on board

and help prevent a new generation from getting hooked on nicotine.

oh it's dime time

hey everyone its Rob with Rob finds treasure and we've had a pretty good run

of Dimes lately I didn't do a dupe box hunt this time I didn't grab any Bank

hopping rolls I just strictly went to my Wells Fargo picked up my two penny box

pickup and the same time I just happened to casually ask you got a box of Dimes

they said they could spare one good thing is I cracked it open it is

circulated definitely circulated so hoping to find some silver dimes in here

as you know I'm still on the lookout always for silver dimes but I've never

found an 82 no mint mark or a 96 West Point or any of the cool ddod Drs from

the 60s and 70s so we're still looking for those as well I'll be hunting each

of these rules each dime at a time looking at both sides looking for airs

and varieties it's only one box we can do it let's get this hunt kicked off

with this first rule and you know what I'll do

I'll loop you in if I find something worth talking about rod and rule number

37 so far I've only managed to eke out an off-center strike 2000 2009 P & 2

2009 DS but I bring you in because I just cracked open this roll and you can

see there's nothing nothing nothing and that looks like a pretty worn edge it's

definitely not Canadian you can tap off the rim

average let alone having a rosy from the 50s and a merc from the 40s so pretty

happy with that let me just triple check because I

missed that one we've got nothing else maybe there's

after going 36 or 37 rolls without any silver and get

- out-of-the-box I'll take it once again the fines off-center mm P we got a 2009

P loam in 2009 so you know I collect them

we got a 2009 D in a 2009 D so three 2009 is out of the box I usually get one

two two so that's better than average I've been scoring a lot of Mercury dimes

lately and it seems like my box of Dimes are starting to heat up because I'm

starting at least find a silver in almost every box I hunt lately and

that's a good thing two silvers are 57 Denver can ever get mad at that nice

rosy and a 45 Philadelphia Mercury dime two silvers to add to the stack you

can't get mad at that hopefully you enjoyed the hunt as much

Soft drinks affect Sexual Efficiency?

One of the most harmful eating habits that many people take on a daily basis is to drink

soft drinks after or during food intake or even before.

It is known that the health damage caused by the consumption of these soft drinks on

I would say that it is appropriate to do some clarity on the issue ...

The world of ants is complex and certain aspects

are still unknown,

in the group we try to learn from each other but

there are methods tested over the years by many

breeders and researchers that it would be good to follow

if you want to succeed.

Personally, I think that testing new methods is

part of the hobby,

but I find it necessary to follow the guidelines

and gain as much experience as possible before

venturing out onto unknown roads.

We must always remember that we are dealing with living beings

and that our actions can compromise the colony if performed without criteria.

Nutrition is a vital topic in the world of ants

and often the success or decline of a colony is strictly

linked to this topic, especially in captivity.

In this video I want to share with you everything I know about ants feeding.

Before starting with the topic you need to know the best way

on how to provide food to your colonies.

In the presence of nanitics

and as long as they will be manageable in test tubes you can supply food

directly inside,

making sure to give adequate portions

that the ants can consume completely.

This will prevent you from having to clean the remains,

which should however be removed within a few days at most.

As soon as you begin to have difficulty in containing them in a tube,

you can think of giving them a small arena.

An arena is nothing but a container where you give the ants

the opportunity to forage food and explore,

it represents the world outside the anthill.

Many species of ants live in the ground,

with high humidity and the constant danger

of causing bacterial infestations and molds,

so cleaning is also a necessity for ants.

In nature, once they have consumed the food inside the anthill

they undertake to keep it clean by bringing the waste and the remains outside;

if managed properly they will do the same even in captivity.

Giving ants the chance to create a garbage point

facilitate waste removal on your part.

Well, let's start from the beginning;

you essentially need to provide 3 items to your colonies:

Protein, sugary foods and water.

The lack of one of these 3 elements will lead to malnutrition

and even to the death of the ants if the problem is not resolved quickly.

Protein is essential for an ant colony.

In particular for the development of larvae and for egg laying.

Many species carry pieces of insects

inside the anthill, directly available to the larvae

to speed up the process and why adult ants

do not have a buccal apparatus used to chew solid foods

The colonies with a lot of offspring, need a constant source

of protein and always grow more and more numbers

and you will have to be the ones to supply them.

The main protein sources for ants

should be insects but they can be used: meat, moist food

for cats or dogs

and in case of granivore species, such as ants of the genus Messor;

seeds of various plants.

When the workers discover the food in the arena,

they will try to consume as much as possible the semi-solid parts

and bring the remnant to the anthill as a supply

and to allow the larvae to feed independently.

If you give to the ants insects that you breed personally, like cockroaches,

crickets or camole is very important that these are

in good health and especially that they are in turn fed properly

to have a good rate of protein.

Although they are very important for the colony,

an exclusively protein diet can be fatal.

Several studies show that colonies fed

only with proteins have a very high worker mortality due

to accumulated toxicity.

This is why it is extremely important to provide a varied diet.

The second essential element for feeding ants is

sugary food, very important

for adult workers who are always on the move,

sugary foods are mainly used to supply

ants with energy.

Examples of sugary foods:

fruit, honey, water and sugar, seeds, the nectar of flowers,

some species in the wild breed aphids of plants to

drink the sweet secretions that is called honeydew.

To answer one of the most common questions regarding

this topic: how much

food do I need to provide to my ants?

If you keep a source of proteins and sugars in an arena constantly,

the ants will know how to handle them on their own.

At my Polyrhachis dives colony I supply food constantly,

proteins and sugars are always available in the arena,

I make sure to clean up the remains that they produce and

place in the wastefill daily.

The third element is water,

vital for any biological process and life form.

The ants need a constant supply of water

and a tube used for this purpose positioned in the arena

could be a good idea.

I do not think I need to tell you that without water, the colony

can perish within a few days.

Observing the ants at work for food

can be very interesting to better understand how their

little big world works.

You will certainly notice that the ants pass food mouth-to-mouth

with a process called trofallaxis,

you will see workers busy taking food inside the anthill

and others trying to keep clean by bringing the waste into the arena.

Give your ants a variety of different foods,

this will help you understand which ones they prefer and which they manage best.

It is not advisable to provide complex food to young colonies,

it is best to do these experiments once the colony is adult.

As long as they are in test tubes I suggest you focus on

simple food sources: insects for protein,

fruit and honey for sugary foods or small shelled seeds

if the species is granivorous.

With proper nutrition,

the growth of your colony will be optimal and enjoyable to observe,

and learning these little notions can

help you with most species.

Raptor: "This ain't no Dinosaur Game" (1994, MS-DOS) | Ep. 156 - Duration: 6:21.

Hey, guys!

Welcome back!

24 years have passed since Raptor was released, and I must say that it still holds up today!

My first experience with it was provided by a shareware version available for DOS which

included the first episode: Bravo Sector.

And its music, composed by Matt Murphy, still pounds in my mind since then!

Raptor: Call of the Shadows was originally developed for MS-DOS by Cygnus Studios and

published by the mighty Apogee Software back in April of 1994.

It was, in fact, placed in stores' shelves on April 1st of 1994!

When Apogee announced to the public that Raptor would be available on that day, everyone thought

that it was an April fool's joke!

But it wasn't!

And, the game was supposed to be called "Mercenary: 2029" and not "Raptor: Call of the Shadows".

Scott Host, lead programmer, told in an interview that the name "Raptor" came after the

Cygnus team went to watch Jurassic Park along with the id Software's team, and ended up

concluding that "Raptor" would make a better title than "Mercenary"!

By that time, Cygnus and id Software were based in the same building during the time period

when Doom and Doom II were developed.

Raptor: Call of the Shadows is divided into three sectors:

Bravo Sector, Tango Sector and Outer Regions,

each one composed of a total of 9 levels.

As for its plot, is as basic as being sent on interplanetary missions to destroy everything

that crosses our path, in this case, the Mega-Corps' thugs.

Being a shoot 'em up, everything that appears on screen must be destroyed, from other flying

objects to ground targets, like turrets, buildings and vehicles.

Obviously that a shoot 'em up without end level bosses wouldn't be a shoot 'em up,

so there's plenty of those!

Even halfway through a certain number of later levels!

Credits and bonuses are earned by destroying stuff, and the more difficult the enemies

are, the more credits and bonuses we'll get!

The player has only one live, but there's an energy meter that

makes Raptor stand out from most shoot 'em ups available until then.

Also, a save option is available between levels, that is really welcomed in this type of games.

Our ship can withstand quite a huge amount of damage, always having the chance to upgrade

it with shields and more powerful weapons that can be bought or collected using the

credit and purchase system implemented.

When facing the various types of enemies, we can dynamically switch between the weapons

installed to face with the situation in hands, 'cause some weapons can only hit airborne

targets and other only ground targets.

Even so, there's a few that can hit both, so these last ones are pretty practical!

The more original weapons present must be the auto-tracking turrets and, besides the

megabomb that will destroy everything on screen, including enemy bullets and projectiles, there's

this weapon that fires continuous instant beams capable of penetrating and destroying

multiple targets in one shot.

Also, we can purchase a certain item called the "ion scanner" that, when confronting

a level boss, can measure its own energy and damage meter.

As said, Raptor was originally developed for MS-DOS, but 5 years later, Mountain King Studios,

the rebranded Cygnus Studios, re-released it for Windows that featured not only slightly

improved graphics and audio, but also feedback controller support.

On the other hand, keyboard and mouse controls were incomprehensibly crippled!

"What were they thinking?"

By 2010, DotEmu published Raptor for Windows XP, Vista and 7, allowing different screen

resolutions and ditching the force feedback support.

A year later, the Apple store also received a new port from the 2010 edition, but this

version is no longer available.

Instead, there's a MacOS port that is still available for 1 dollar and 99 cents.

By 2015, achievements and cloud saving were added to Raptor for an exclusive Steam release

for PC and Mac.

Raptor came after Galactrix, the first game by Scott Host and a sort of spiritual sequel

came later, in 1997: DemonStar.

Raptor: Call of the Shadows was considered the best Shareware game back in 1994 and,

remember:

"This ain't no dinosaur game"!

So, guys!

I also have the GOG version, but I end up going back to my IBM PS/1 to play it the way

I used to back in the day!

Hello fellow travelers!

We are going to be very fast with the presentation of this video because Savannah's mosquitoes are killing us!

We are in Savannah, one of the most important cities in the South and, especially in the State of Georgia.

Here we are going to enjoy that Southern atmosphere, its spectacular architecture,

its porches, its rocking chairs on the porches…

We are staying in this Airbnb house. It's the typical Southern house with high ceilings, traditional furniture…

Let's go! I can't wait to see Savannah!

Savannah was the first American city built on a plan.

The rest of the cities were different because they were building as the European population grew,

but they were interested in designing Savannah from scratch.

You can see it: all the streets are straight, every three streets there is a square..

One of the most interesting things about Savannah is its squares. Be sure to visit as many as you can.

They are wonderful! They have big trees giving a nice shadow, the sound of the cicadas

and the beautiful houses surrounding them.

Even the animal hospitals have Southern style…

this one must be a hospital for posh animals, look how amazing it is!

This area has awesome Southern houses. All of them are surrounding Forsyth Park.

Close to it there is St. John's Cathedral. It was founded by French nobles in 1802.

They came here escaping from the slaves' revolution in Haiti.

By the way, they had escaped from the revolution in France.

They weren't really lucky, indeed.

All these houses are antebellum. Savannah was protected by 3 forts.

When the Union Army took them, the city surrendered without suffering any damage.

That's why the buildings are so well preserved.

The one that I have behind me is The Mercer House.

It's famous because here was the location where the movie

"Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" was filmed.

A murder, Kevin Spacey as a rich man living here… We truly recommend that you watch it.

It reflects life in Savannah and The South in the old times. Here lived Jim Williams, who killed his assistant in 1981.

Note down this boutique hotel. It's amazing!

Savannah's Police Department shows old police cars as beautiful as these two.

They remind me of the mafia time.

It should have been pretty cool to have been arrested in one of these cars, shouldn't it?

This house is known because it was the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low.

Who is she? She was the founder of the Girl Scout Association in the US.

It was a kind of revolution in a period where women were devoted to their husbands

and taking care of their children and house.

We are in Oglethorpe Avenue, one of the most important in Savannah.

Oglethorpe was a very important general. He was the founder of Savannah and even the state of Georgia.

Here is Savannah's City Hall. Just here, close to the river, on February 12, 1733,

Oglethorpe along with 122 families, docked their boat here and founded Savannah,

the first city of the state of Georgia.

All these buildings close to the river were storehouses for the cotton exchange.

In fact, Savannah was the most important port in the Atlantic coast and the second in the world!

Take that!

Cotton carriages came here from cotton plantations.

They unloaded it through these gangways, they weighed it and put it into the boats straight to Europe.

It's really interesting that…

We are going to have dinner in this restaurant: The Olde Pink House.

This house was built in 1771 by John Habersham, who was an important cotton producer

and belonged to one of Savannah's founding families.

Later, it was some other things, like a bank and is currently a restaurant,

where we are going to have dinner now.

They say that John Habersham never left this house.

He committed suicide by hanging himself in the basement of the house and

his spirit is still roaming the house…

By the way, if you like stories about spirits, phantoms, terrible murders, haunted houses,

Savannah is YOUR place.

It presumes to be one of the most bewitched towns in the world;

in fact there are night guided tours visiting the scariest spots that have had paranormal phenomena…

It's a huge house with a lot of rooms,

We ordered a Southern-style sole.

I'm supposed to know how to clean it. It's deep fried and with a lot of different sauces.

People come here just to eat this sole. They have been cooking this recipe for the last 30 years.

Now we are in Artillery. It's an authentic bar where you can enjoy a cocktail after dinner.

One piece of advice: Although it is 50 degrees centigrade outside, always take a jacket

because they put the air conditioning so high that just penguins can stand it…

At the main fountain of Forsyth Park we say see you later to you.

Now we are going for a walk along this park.

Sandra is a bit scared of it but I think it's very romantic.

All of us know from movies and books that there are a lot of murderers,

madmen and psychos in the American parks at night…

Yes, there are also clowns with power saws…
