Even simpler wooden clamps - Duration: 5:30.
You already know I am 1000 kilometres away from my shop,
so let's see if I can cut the wedges I need to make this wooden clamp.
Well, not very nice wedges, but they will do the trick.
Sure you remember the wooden clamps I made in another video using a couple of wooden strips.
Link in the description.
Then I had used some bolts to attach the strips together.
And I could use two wedges to clamp the boards.
But now I will make an even simpler version.
Then, these are the boards I want to clamp.
I have cut this block out of one board.
And it will be helpful so the screw don't leave a mark in the edge of the board.
And here I will use the two wedges I made.
First I will put them like this, slightly opened.
Now I put the long strips here ...
so I must put one screw here ...
and the other one around here.
Then, these are the marks for the screws.
I move the marks to the edge of the strip,
and I will drill here ...
and here.
These are the screws I will use. They seem to be very long.
But the boards I will clamp go here.
So I think these screws will work perfectly.
The holes I drill in the top strip are some wider than the screws
Well they go too tight,
but finally I can push the screws through the holes.
Now I mark where to drill the guide holes in the other strip.
And, in this strip I drill thin guide holes so the threads of the screws can grab the wood.
Now, to avoid glue from sticking to the wooden strips, I can use this plastic tape.
I insert the screws in the top strip of this wooden clamp.
I put here the lower strip of the wooden clamp.
I could put here another wooden clamp, but I didn't make it yet.
But I need this strip to level the boards.
And now I can put here the boards with some glue in the edge.
I put here the block.
I would put here another one.
And later I will put here the wedges.
But first I fit the tip of both screws in the holes in the lower strip.
And I insert the screws.
It is faster if we use a cordless screwdriver, but I don't have one here.
For the moment I don't want to tight the screws.
I would put here the top part of the other wooden clamp.
I will tight the screws just a little bit.
And now I can put the wedges here, between the board and the screws.
And now I can tighten the wedges to clamp the boards.
It is better if I hit both wedges at the same time, but I just have one hammer.
And now I can tighten the screws.
And well, I have just improvised this wooden clamp but I think it will work very well.
Here I have the block to avoid the marks the screw could leave in the board.
And here I have the wedges I have used to clamp in the boards.
Here we can see the wedges against the screw.
And well, you can find a link in the description to watch how I made a better version with bolts instead of screws.
Thanks for watching.

Learn How to Treat Neck Spasms|HFE♪ - Duration: 9:48.
Learn How to Treat Neck Spasms
Neck spasms can likely become very painful when not treated on time.
They can occur for many reasons, such as having a bad posture for long periods of time, stress, muscle weakness and other causes.
Learn how to prevent this condition in this article.
Neck spasms are pains that occur when bending, leaning or extending your neck.
Since the neck harbors a system of ligaments and muscles that work to move the head as well as keep it in place, it's an incredibly delicate area.
The muscles run from the head and cervical spine to the clavicle, thorax and other areas, forming a total of 20 muscle pairs that allow for movement. When a neck spasm occurs, the blood vessels that carry blood to muscles constrict and, as a result, the strain worsens.
For the most part, the muscles that suffer most are the trapezius and rhomboids. People suffering from neck spasms often experience pain and difficulty when turning their neck to one side.
This condition is actually quite common.
In some cases, there might also be head, shoulder and even arm pain as well.
However, neck spasms aren't considered to be an illness. Instead, they're symptoms showing that something isn't right.
Neck spasm symptoms Identifying a neck spasm isn't that difficult because there's ongoing pain in the area. In some cases, there's a prolonged pain, and in others, it appears spontaneously.
Here are the main symptoms: Inflammation Sharp, throbbing pain Tingling sensation The area is warm to the touch Muscle pain Turning the body is necessary to move the neck Most of the time, neck spasms don't lead to serious problems.
However, we should treat the strain in time in order to prevent even more painful side effects.
Causes There are many possible causes of neck spasms.
Some include: Overworking Repetitive use of muscles Forced postures that require the neck muscles for long periods of time Exposure to stressful situations Muscle weakness How can you treat neck spasms? Generally speaking, treatments for neck spasms include oral anti-inflammatory drugs and the use of ice or cold packs on the affected area for short periods of time.
The treatments aim to reduce swelling and pain.
More serious cases require physical rehabilitation with a physical therapist.
If none of the treatments mentioned above are successful, the next step might be cortisone injections into the strained area.
Surgery is only a valid option for chronic cases.
Otherwise, if the pain isn't serious, you can try to follow the warm-up exercises below that'll help you relax your muscles.
However, remember that it's only a suggestion and it's always better to ask a doctor before trying them.
Stop any kind of physical activity for 3 days.
Gently massage the area to warm it up and help blood flow.
Follow a diet that's rich in nutrients in order to speed up healing.
Try the following self-massages and stretches that you can do at home without having to worry about making the pain worse.
Before starting anything, keep your breathing and posture steady. You might feel some pain, but it should never be intense. In the case that it is, stop the exercise immediately.
Using a rod Further below, you'll find a couple massaging exercises that you can use to counteract the symptoms of your neck spasm.
However, they only have a momentary effect.
From the left to right The first thing you need to do is breathe deeply and exhale slowly.
Stand up and straighten out your back.
Next, take a rod and place it right behind the back of your neck, keep it gently in place with the palms of your hands.
Now, gently roll the rod.
After, start to move it around your neck and sides.
You can also lean your head forwards and to the sides.
Continue exercises for 5 minutes.
Slide and spin Stay in the same position of the prior exercises, but now slide the rod downwards, pressing it all over your neck.
As you slide the rod, spin it in order to relax your muscles.
Afterwards, do the same thing with your sides.
Continue for 5 minutes.
How can you prevent neck spasms? Avoid postures that force your neck to bend.
Switch up your position frequently.
Get more physical activity.
Don't make sudden movements.
Remember to do warm-up exercises before any kind of physical activity.
Stretch your back and neck every two hours.
Sleep in the right position.
Check to see if you mattress is in good condition and if your pillow keeps your neck straight.
You can try special activities such as yoga or pilates.
Put relaxation exercises into practice.
Fortunately, you can find a solution for neck spasms with physical therapy in a matter of 2 or 3 sessions.

Yi: We are here, so we can make a secret plan in peace. What do you want to do right now?

Three Simple and Original Tips to Enjoy Plantains|HFE♪ - Duration: 9:17.
Three Simple and Original Tips to Enjoy Plantains
It's time to discover how to enjoy plantains and how to make original preparations with a few simple tips.
Learn what you can do with this great fruit and how to prepare it!.
The plantain is, without a doubt, one of the most popular fruits in several gastronomic traditions around the world.
This is especially true in America, where there's a variety of delicious and original recipes.
That's why it allows you to make really delicious dishes easily, and with great results.
Now, what really matters is knowing what the benefits of eating plantains no matter how we do it.
As you may know, plantains are a very important source of potassium and folic acid.
Plus, they're also a great source of vitamins and mineral fibers such as zinc or selenium.
Now let's take a look at how to prepare them!.
Original tips to make plantains.
Baked plantains.
If you're a person who prefers the sweet versus the salty, you're in the right place with this recipe.
Ingredients.
4 ripe plantains (850 g) 5 sheets of aluminum foil 3 tablespoons of unsalted margarine (45 g) 2 cups of grated white cheese (300 g) 1/2 tablespoon of vegetable oil (8 mL).
Preparation.
Before starting, you must make sure to remove the skin of the plantains and place them in a mold, without cutting.
Then, set the oven temperature to 400º C.
Before introducing the mold with the plantains, you should expect the oven to heat and conserve heat for about 5 minutes.
Spread the margarine over the plantains in combination with the oil.
This will make them look golden on the outside and soft and well cooked on the inside.
Finally, bake in the oven for 35 minutes and make sure to turn them over so they cook well at 7 minute intervals.
Once ready, serve and enjoy plantains!.
Green plantain tostones.
This recipe is prepared very frequently in the coastal areas of a large part of Latin America, especially in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil.
It consists of unripe green plantains in combination with vegetable oil and salt.
Usually, it comes with main dishes such as fish or meat, in combination with salads and mashed potatoes.
However, the highlight of this preparation is the simplicity provided by the plantain.
Ingredients.
1 cup of vegetable oil (110 mL) 2 large green plantains (400 g) 2 tablespoons of salt (30 g).
Preparation.
In a pan, pour the contents of the cup with vegetable oil and medium heat.
Then, make sure to remove the skin from the green plantain.
Keep in mind that while yo're removing the skin, you must be careful to not to put your hands on your clothes, or you could stain them.
Now, slice the plantains.
With the oil is hot enough, add the green plantain slices and let them brown. Just brown! When you see that the slices are golden, proceed to remove them from the oil.
With the help of a hammer to crush the plantains, flatten the slices. The idea is that you do it with all of them so that they're as flat as possible.
Finally, put them back in the oil over low heat and wait for them to fry for 2 minutes and remove them.
Drain excess oil well and serve on a plate with some salt.
Sweet ripe plantains.
This preparation is as delicious as the title it holds, so it's an ideal option to enjoy plantains.
It combines an ideal blend between the natural sweetness of ripe plantain and brown sugar. In addition, the contrast with the red wine delights the palate.
Ingredients.
4 large ripe plantains (700 g) 1 cup of brown sugar (100 g) 1/2 cup of vegetable oil (60 mL) 1 cup of red wine (110 mL).
Preparation.
Start by removing the skin of the plantains and cutting them into slices about 2 cm wide.
Then, make sure you fry them very well.
Once this step is completed, pass them to a refractory bowl.
Then, introduce the brown sugar and the cup of wine to the mixture with the plantains.
Finally, transfer everything to a pan and let it cook for 20 minutes.
Serve and decorate to taste. Enjoy!.
