- I came to Next because I thought

it was a truly unique opportunity

to participate in the Google Cloud

community and environment.

- The networking, the connections, the mind share

all in one place and the same time.

You just can't pass up that opportunity.

Our relationship with Google Cloud

is pretty fundamental.

We had almost essentially zero cloud presence.

And all of the challenges that comes

with running a data center.

We make the decision two years ago

to go all in with Google Cloud.

We did a big lift and shift migration

of our existing infrastructure into GCPD.

We migrated all of our production infrastructure

in 70 days, 3.5 petabytes.

And part and parcel to that was we revisited

our monitoring strategy and Datadog floated to the top.

- There's no winning differentiator

to running your own infrastructure.

It's going to be expensive, it's gonna be time consuming,

and there's a huge availability cost that goes with that.

- Getting new infrastructure, for instance,

meant minutes instead of days,

or even maybe in the worst case, weeks.

At our core we're a software company.

We share value in the form of features,

and doing things that our users want.

Doing things ourselves, building things,

maintaining things, there's no real value added there.

And we don't really need to run VMs

and worry about hardware failure.

Using Google Cloud, using Datadog,

affords us the opportunity to explore other things

that we might not otherwise been able to do

as an org or even as a company.

That then enabled us to start looking

at some of the higher level services that Google provides.

Things like Kubernetes, things like App Engine.

The nitty-gritty stuff is taken care of for you.

You plug in and run some code and you're happy.

There's a Timer on This?! - Happy Glass Let's Play Ep. #01 (136-150) - Duration: 14:00.

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to my Let's Play series of Happy Glass.

I'm Iwer Sonsch and this is going to be episode one of the actual Let's Play.

Today, I'm going to take a shot at the Levels 136-150.

I'm gonna try and make it 15 levels per episode.

If the levels are unexpectedly short and easy, or unexpectedly long and difficult,

I might adjust that, but for now, it's 15 levels. So with that being said,

let's hop right into it with Level 136.

What do we have here?

That is just a revamp of...

Oh, we actually have less pen this time.

m-hm.

Let's see, does this idea work?

Not quite, not quite.

What do we do then?

Do we just try and sneak through?

Maybe we could...

maybe we could go off this...

because that's not round...

That does get us those orange balls out of the way, but...

What I had in mind was this right here,

and it can probably be a solution,

but it's only gonna be a 2-star solution.

So I kind of wanna see what the 3-star solution is going to be.

Maybe something like that?

Can we tolerate one orange ball?

Can we allow to have one orange ball in the glass?

No, we can't, apparently.

Okay, so apparently you can do that.

The point was to...

The point was to allow it to move out of the way.

Here we just bridged our way through.

Let me do that again real quick, cause I was

still talking about Level 136.

We just hook it up like that.

That's something I've already done several times in several different levels,

so it wasn't hard to find.

Let me see - how about...

how about that? Does that work?

It probably does, if I stabilize it a little better.

Oh, it overshoots it.

It overshoots it, that is quite nice.

That's nice to know.

If we do that, it overshoots by less and

I just barely didn't use more than 33% of the pen,

so we just barely got the 3 stars on it.

Okay, what happens if we do Nothing?

That happens, okay.

So if we do this, maybe?

If we do this, but smaller, what will happen?

Chaos.

But if we provide actual platforms, like that...

does that... is that any good?

Well, there's a ton of water coming out.

Maybe more than we need.

Like, maybe a lot more than we need.

But yeah, that is - that is how you do it.

I'm relatively positive that that is probably the intended solution.

Okay, there has been this level, like,

idk, 78 maybe,

where it was relatively similar.

You had to drop down the glass between two hot platforms.

Okay. I have very low amounts of pen.

And apparently,

apparently you only need the water from one of the two dispensers.

Knowing that, we can just bridge to the left side like that and get all 3 stars.

Nice.

Now what happens if I only bridge here and don't care about the orange?

Then that orange one

that orange plank falls in.

That would have been an ugly 2-star solution.

What happens if we do nothing?

Something interesting.

One could do that...

not confident that that's a good idea.

Okay...

Okay.

There has been this level where it worked like this.

And I think that's actually probably the solution.

Now, that looks very intended. That looks very intended.

Next level.

It's just...

If you didn't realize in level 75...

Woah!

There's a timer on this!

Usually, I thought,

usually I thought the timer was only for if you're really very slow, but

This actually has a tight timer.

It is a speedrun level, which...

as a speedrunner, I would like to see, but

woah, is this a short timer.

We did it. We got all 3 stars.

What do we do here?

If we do nothing, only the left one will bother us,

so knowing that,

what if we take care of only the left one?

Simple as that. Simple as that.

Let me see what happens if I do this.

360 no-scope.

Oh, it's upside down?

Well I guess I gotta change that. What does a stick do?

Not enough. That's… that's a beginning.

Yeah, no, that...

Like, those blue squares gotta be there for something.

Looks like I found the intended solution.

Hm. That's not much control we have here.

If we do nothing, it's just gonna flow over.

So we have to stop the water somehow.

That is a good-looking J. I think I can make it bigger.

Then it will actually do what I want it to do.

I'm more comfortable about this than about some of the levels in the showcase (which I deleted).

I think that's a good sign.

Didn't we have a very similar level with a square earlier?

Hmm, maybe not.

I think we did.

I think it's just a matter of center of mass.

Can't put much weight on that.

Maybe I can that way?

Nope.

Yeah that doesn't look intended.

What I can do is that.

That still won't work, but...

That almost looked like a 2-star solution.

I'm thinking it probably is.

It might not be.

Okay. Apparently that worked for 3 stars, so it's probably intended.

Um, that level looks very familiar.

And it wasn't any harder.

Alright, Level 150, last one for today.

Can we beat it?

Just beat it?

Can I draw 2 flat lines?

Can I draw 2 flat lines and get 3 stars?

Apparently I can.

And that is it, ladies and gentlemen, thanks for watching. I'll see you again in episode 2!
