This is Deliverance Ministry.FM video cast number 41.
Hello.
Welcome
to another episode of Deliverance Ministry.fm where we give you proven insights, both the
demonic realm in deliverance ministry so that you can wage spiritual warfare more effectively.
This is Dr. Don Ibbitson here again and I'm happy as always to be here with my cohost
and colleague Dr. Phyllis Tarbox.
Hey Don.
Good to have you here.
Good to be here.
Yeah, we like doing these.
We have fun and we're really enjoying this series.
This is a continuation of the series that we started doing on looking at a spiritual
warfare concepts or strategies for different temperaments.
And I encourage you to listen to the first podcast that we did in this series is episode
37.
It talks about overview of temperaments that talks about the five different temperaments
that we, that the, uh, that we use and part of the Arno profile system.
There's melancholy, sanguine, phlegmatic, and supine temperaments.
Different aspects of that, how we use it explains a lot.
You need to listen to that.
If you're not familiar with temperaments, if you need more information, we've got a
lot information on our website.
You can find information there on temperaments.
Listen to that.
First.
We're not going to rehash all amp.
What we're going to do today is jump in and look at one of the other temperaments in our
series, and this is the caloric temperament.
The idea behind this series is that we're all different.
God made us differently.
We have different makeups.
We use the word temperament.
That inborn part of us that we got made us with different strengths and weaknesses.
We use that as opposed to personalities because personalities are masks, believe that people
can put on, and so there's five different temperament types.
We're looking at the choleric temperament and elements of the choleric temperament.
What the main weaknesses will look at the strengths and then we'll look at the weaknesses
of the temperament because you see, I believe that that's where the demonic kingdom, which
knows a lot of boaters, they will focus on trying to exploit the weaknesses of our temperament
and try to create open doors for demonic torment in our life.
So we're going to talk about those weaknesses, will then address the major, uh, strongholds,
demonic strongholds that we see in people who are primarily caloric in temperament.
And they will talk about some specific suggestions to a that we want to give you.
Two, for those of you who are clerics who can maybe even begin now how to wage spiritual
warfare more effectively.
And we've talked about the before.
That most people aren't what we would call pure [inaudible] in the, in all the three
areas.
This model looks at our temperament in areas of our social orientation or need for social
inclusion, our control or need for control in relationships and in the area of affection.
And most people aren't pure cleric in all three areas but mainly primarily cleric and
one or two.
And so this will be very helpful for you, uh, to, to look at it, spiritual warfare for
the clerics.
So with that kind of preamble, let's dive right in.
And Phyllis start us off.
Tell us a little bit about the collaring temperament.
Well, they are the born leaders don there, that there are four runners.
They're the ones that can see the big picture, but sometimes they'll miss some of the small
details.
They are motivators.
They can motivate people, they can gather the troops quickly, they can organize and
they're great delegators.
They're the ones that thrive in a fast paced environment and they look for people that
can, that can come on board to accomplish the goal that work with them.
Um, I always say that they have that roar like the lion of Judah, and they're great
rebels for God because they get things done.
That's a good phrase.
They get things done.
They're the ones.
Some people call them as dominant.
Some people will say the word wall.
They're controlling.
Well, we want to be careful.
They're good at being in control.
They can take charge.
Doesn't mean everybody who's liked that has a spirit of control of work in their life.
Let's be clear about that.
Any number of any person and any temperament can have a demonic stronghold of control.
In fact, some very controlling people are just look very passive and look very mild
and so pretty indirect control.
Yeah, so that spirit can still be at work, but I think that's a key thing there a lot.
And as you, and we're going to start off by talking and you've touched on, again, some
of the strengths of this temperament types.
These, these people are go getters, they get things done.
Either you know, you, you think of a program like lost in or some of these people on a
deserted island where he's standing around like a bunch of chickens.
When we get a cleric involved, they're going to rise to the top and they're going to start
taking charge and given orders and getting things done.
Now if you get to clerics or three, then there might be a bit be a problem, a power struggle,
but, but they're the ones mean you throw them into a tough situation.
They're going to get things done and they can assess, can assess data, they can make
decisions quickly, even an unknown areas even they don't know what's going on.
So I, I believe a lot of are truly gifted leaders in business or in a military.
Um, many times, I think they're called Eric's in many ways.
It doesn't have to be.
It doesn't mean the other temperaments can't lead.
But you know, these clerics, man, they're good.
They're, they're task focused, they're good at getting things done, they're tough minded.
They, they can make good, intuitive decisions.
They can, they can motivate people many times, sometimes they can motivate people poorly,
but they got a good mind.
They, they, they come across many times to, as being very optimistic and outgoing and,
and, uh, they can do that, do that as well.
So just a whole lot of strengths in my mind, it's associated with the cleric.
Temporary missed.
So what about the, let's look at the weaknesses of the temperament, because the idea is, you
know, as we've talked about, there are no better or worse temporary.
So now sometimes people say, well, Gosh, I wish I was, maybe I wish I was a cleric or
I wish I was more like this person in that, but you know, the fact that you, God made
you the way you are for a purpose.
He's Got a vision and a plan for your life.
And so, um, you know, every time I guess they have strengths and weaknesses and for all
the strengths and the cleric temperament, there's, there's a, there's a lot of weaknesses.
And let's, let's touch on those.
The reason being is at the kingdom which observes this sees a lot of what we do in the world.
They all observe these weaknesses and they will seek to try to exploit those.
So let's touch on some of the weaknesses of the cleric temperament.
Well, in inclusion, which is the social settings in their surface relationships and how they
make decisions, they can tend to be a little hot tempered.
Don have an anger that anger will explode and you know, they have to really guard their
hearts about not being a people user.
Because you know, I said earlier that they can see the people that they need to meet
the goal of whatever it is that there is their project, but they also have this tendency
to gather the people that they can use to get the job done and the hard part about it
is you can watch them walk over some of the dead bodies to get things done that they want.
So task focused.
They have their, they are big picture person.
They're the ones with that could have the big picture and then the job done.
Yeah.
They don't pay much attention to the details and a lot of times the details are the people
and that's where I think they have to guard their heart is they can walk on those people.
They can become easily frustrated if, if their picture is not accomplished, if it's not going
the way they want it, you'll see him just going, you know, and they get really frustrated
and you know it when they get upset because it's not being done the way they want it to
be done.
And they can.
They can vent with some cruelty.
That can harbor that anger and it can explode and come across and be really.
And once again, these are weaknesses and that needs to get dealt with somebody who's the
Lord can change and transform people like this so that it's, this weaknesses isn't.
Yeah, it was a weakness, but it doesn't have to be anymore any counseling sense.
And so, um, that's, that's, that's definitely, that's definitely one of them.
We talked about the anger, um, the be that can come out, but I think the other thing
that we did, because there are so task focused and focused on the job, they're very susceptible
to burn out.
Oh yeah.
You'll see these people burnout.
They don't just know how to rest thing.
Many times they're, you know, they are not capable of taking on bad behaviors to try
to get more people, to motivate them, to help them, you know, and so very susceptible to
burn out.
And if they're around people too who aren't as competent or driven as they are, they can
end up presenting.
He would think that they gather those people.
They tend to gather those kind of people, the weak ones.
And they're almost like, in a spiritual sense sense, it'd be like a spiritual unit, you
know, they gathered to get their accomplishment done and then they, they get irritated with
them because they're not strong enough to keep up with them.
Yep.
That definitely can happen.
And those who are cleric and affection typically express a high need for affection but usually
don't have a big need for affection for themselves.
So they intended that.
The weakness, that tendency can be very self centered.
Um, they may not appear that way because they're going to appear to be, you know, having the
interest of others have heart, but they, but they will tend to, they can be a, tend to
reject sometimes the love and affections of people that are trying to love.
Yeah, they're not, they're not, they don't have a high need to be touched and held and
minute, you know, cleaned onto.
They're not, they're not that kind of person.
They're there, they're there to the point person in the lab setting, you know.
Right.
And they can appear that way.
They can come across as being a.
But once again, that they express a high need but have a relatively no needs.
So that's that.
That can definitely be the weakness areas.
So there's, we've touched on it a little bit.
Those are major, those are pretty.
There's a pretty significant, you know, his temperament where you got some pretty significant
strengths.
Those are pretty significant weaknesses.
And if you have a partner in a marriage, especially that, that these aren't dealt with, it can
be devastating.
It's very hard for the mirror just to kind of thrive with this in place with these weaknesses
not dealt with.
And so because a lot of times the people who are sick and some of these areas, they're
achievers, they'll get stuff done, might get their validation in the, in the world or the
military that values this kind of driven this.
But sometimes you know, once again on the home front that not everybody sees it can
be a train wreck it.
So that's why there's great, great strengths and great weaknesses.
So we've talked about that, that the era, the, some of the weaknesses are, they're very
task task focused right now.
They can have a it, I think sometimes it critical.
Why do people make is they think that they can do it better than everybody else.
They can do it better and in terms of the anger or they can be explosive and sometimes
the temperament type will be the type that will seek vengeance it.
Payback you get me, I get you.
Yeah.
And you know, not always in action, but a lot of times in their mind if they're, you
know, now they, they made do action, but I think as you grow in Christ, you still have
those vegetable thoughts of like, I could do this and you get even, you know, so you
have to guard your heart against the thoughts too.
Exactly.
So those are some of the weaknesses.
And once again, as people exhibit these in, they have these in their life and their temperament,
maybe as they're growing up the demonic ground, we'll see and try to exploit that and open
the door for certain types of demonic strongholds to be at work in the cleric.
What's Fellas for experience in the realm of deliverance ministry, certain counseling.
What's, what are the really talking about the three major strong holes, the most common
strongholds that we see operating in the clerics.
So what's the first one?
I'd say it's the hottest stronghold.
Stronghold of pride because they are a born leader.
I think they were big, you know, they'd probably learned to be a leader when they were young
and, and they started thinking that they were better than others at early age because they
were able to do things.
Um, and then they find themselves looking at leaders with a critical eye, like we talked
about that.
Uh, so the spirits that are in operation and relief, that stronghold of hottie would be
pride, judgment, condemnation, critical and perfectionism.
Yeah, that's big.
They've got natural giftings in that they don't really have the revelation of giftings
coming from God and for his glory if they, if that's not there and they, they just, uh,
they getting success in the world before the Lord.
They tend to see this them, it's me, it is me, it's Christ in me, me, me and me and my
efforts in and, and giftings.
And that's true of any temperament type.
Obviously people can continue to do that, but um, but a lot of times the, the clerics
who are used to taking charge and getting things done, if they see some success, I think
that Latinas and pride and the thing of perfection and critical everything, that's a lot of things
under hottiness
yeah, we've all had, we've all had bosses like this before, I'm sure to, you know, when
in the workplace and there is an expectation that you're going to do to the level that
they're going to do that you're going to forsake family and time and things like that to accomplish
their goals at work or you know, he sadly could be in the church as well, but that's
where I think that perfectionism comes in where there's that expectation of others to
have that high, that same high ability to accomplish as they do and that that can be
very detrimental.
Exactly.
Hygienists and pride, cloudiness and pride.
Second stronghold that we see a lot is under that strong man of jealousy in India that
we see things like negativity, blaming bitterness, anger, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
A lot.
A lot of selfishness is.
It tends to be all about them and their plan and I think, you know, and that's a course
where we say, you know, they surround themselves with the weaker people, um, but then they
end up being frustrated with the weak or people that are around them and then that, that causes
that anger and that frustration.
And I think this, the temperament type, I don't like other temperaments.
Sometimes the temperament goes internally inside, like the melancholies in the Supine,
but the, with the people like the bricks, that temperature, I think it may have the
explosion right there on their sleeve and sometimes they forget about it for them, but
they leave a lot of damage and that angers their analytics.
They'll keep exploding in there and just, you know, and then like say blaming other
than bitterness maybe to other people that have done them wrong or not performed.
And so that's just that whole, just a pride.
Of course.
I'd say, man, that's a big one.
That jealousy everything under jealousy a lot of times applies to the clerics, right?
So better this negativity.
What do you mean?
Great.
And the third stronghold is the antichrist strong call.
Now, this one may sound a little strange, but under antichrist is a spirit of rebellion.
And this temperament was created to be a rebel for God.
The lead, the charge, but the strong, the stronghold of antichrist or rx rebellion against
all authority.
And then it sits back and it rationalizes and justifies the position of resistance.
Like, I shouldn't have to do this and I shouldn't have to do that.
And it wants you to lean on your own strength and your own intellect and not on God's.
So, um, the, the spirits that are involved in this would be humanism.
You know, leaning on yourself.
I can do this by myself.
I don't need anybody independence, intellectual ism and rebellion,
everything.
Don't know, believe that to everything under that, that strong amount of antichrist, because
it really is about, we can be about the power of self.
And I think our.
Because if you think about it, there are so used to doing things themselves that it's
hard to trust and even release control and delegate over to God.
And because you know, I believe for many people, we see where the Bible says Jesus was confessing
with your mouth, believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord.
For many people, I think Jesus as their savior, he saved me.
He is, you know, but making him the Lord, trusting, letting you know, letting Jesus
take the wheel if you like, and drive the bus.
I mean, I think that's a journey that we're all on.
Everybody on is on that journey of trusting and growing in faith.
But I think for clerics especially, it's hard.
Some people are just at the end of their rope.
They feel so badly about themselves.
They don't have, you know, there's temperament type, didn't need others.
Just releasing it as easier.
But with the clerics used to getting stuff done and the power of self, man, it's hard
to just really make that transition over to making Jesus, Lord, Lord, I trust you with
my life.
You're in charge.
Show me, lead me, guide me.
Because clerics are used to leading and guiding.
They're not used to being led.
So that's, I think that's a challenge there.
And a couple with the pride, it's a pretty, it's a pretty difficult.
Um, I experienced clerics.
We had, I can say military people, leaders, uh, they, they know God, they know about God,
they're diligent at doing their devotionals.
But developing that relationship with the Lord and growing in intimacy with the Lord,
that's tough.
That's harder.
It's so, it's more of a challenge just because of the nature of their temperament.
Just learning how to trust the Lord because they're used to trust in themselves and doing
things on their own.
So those are the things.
Pride, we see jealousy, anger, and a Christ.
If you're talking about Dalton unbelief, rebellion can think are some of the major struggles
that we see there in the cleric temperament.
Know we talked about before.
Of course, those are those, the ones that, those could open the door to others thinking
anytime you enter any temporary can it opened the door for spirits of infirmity or anger
or adultery.
Fornication, perversions, pornography, any at all of those.
Those are, you know, can be in a part of any temperament type.
But these are the ones we really see that are really primary problem, prevalent rather
in this temperament type.
Okay?
So with those strongholds, and you know, the answer is, is we prone to say like to say
that man, if you've got demonic strongholds in areas, what do you need?
Need, you need God's deliverance, deliverance, God, verse deliverance.
Second,
you know, and um, so we need deliverance in this part of what we do.
We do deliverance, ministry, and online.
We do it in our office, we do it over the Internet to a worldwide.
And so if you need deliverance in some areas in your life, I'm errol counseling, please
let us know.
So deliberate.
It is important that we say that first and foremost, that's, that's key.
But apart from that, and even after deliverance, where the mind is the battlefield and we need
to be prepared for when the spirits try to comeback spirits outside of a person are going
to try to attack and torment.
Listen, that's an element of deliverance is one aspect of spiritual warfare, but there
are others, right?
And so we need to be able to discern the spirits when they come back to the house.
And so what are some specific suggestions we would leave for people give to people who
are, who are really of the cleric temperament?
Well, I think the one that I would say the most is not to go to bed angry, not to let
the sun go down on your anger, not to stay angry, to forgive those people that have perhaps
not following your path and to release judgment against them.
And I think those are things that you almost need to do right before you go to bed.
It cancel any ungodly soul tie with some of the people that have frustrated you and upset
you.
Forgive them, drop the judgment and perhaps pray a blessing for those people before you
go to bed.
We've talked about I'm praying blessings for those that have hurt you.
Or Luke six, 27 and 28.
We got our scripture guy right here.
So if you, if you, you know, because when you let the sun go down on your anger and
you and you go to bed like that, you know your mind is actually still meditating and
thinking about that stuff as you sleep and you haven't released it and the longer you
give your mind meditation to stay on a particular subject, it will, it will eventually go to
your permanent memory banks.
And as it does that, have you ever noticed that when you wake up in the morning, that
now that thought that you had the night before of anger, it's filed itself on that part of
your brain where all the other times that that person is upset you.
And so it's just like, wow, there's power to it.
So you wake up and you're even angrier.
Well, that's why I mean God's Word is true.
You should never let the sun go down on your anger lest you give the of foothold.
So release it all before you go to bed.
Shift what you're thinking about to the things that are good, praiseworthy unlovely, and
Philippians four, eight, and, and begin to think about things that are positive because
as you, as you rest that will, that will help you in, in the quicker I heard I heard, um,
her Jennifer Leclaire said this at a, at a conference that we were just at over in, um,
Dallas.
She said, if you let something fester and blister, it's a whole lot.
It takes a whole lot longer for it to heal.
But if you can just put that ice of forgiveness and releasing it to God on it quickly, boy,
it just goes right away.
That sounds, that sounds like wisdom to me.
I would say too, that the person who is clerical, temperament, it's gonna take some effort,
an act of the will to choose unspecific sates, situations to learn how to yield your will
to the will of the Holy Spirit.
Learn how to trust God and it's just, um, you just do it.
It's just different situations.
Looking for seeking wisdom, expecting the Lord to speak to.
You.
Learn how to yield your will to the will of the Holy Spirit and God will speak.
He will show you if you were going to be the lord of your life.
It's not always about you.
You don't have to come up with everything.
He will speak and he will guide and he will lead you in.
And the other element we talked about being critical and hard on people is just our learning
how to live and walk in Greece.
God's the empowering presence of God in your life and I don't mean that's.
That's grace is the empowering presence of God that enables you to do all that you need
to do and be all that you need to be in some people.
I think we all need grace teachings, temperament types that are caloric, I think needed as
much as anybody.
Just good, good under some grace teaches Andrew Womack's got good grace teachings.
Joseph Prince is a great grace teacher.
I'm just wherever you find it, if you're not in a church that's preaching grace, find it.
If you're British churches, preach works and doing, doing, doing the lyrics will lap that
up, but that's, you know, that's not really a full measure of what you need.
I'm learning how to trust others to release so they can get the job done.
I'm not to be critical of yourself and others.
Learning to see yourself and others through the eyes of, through the mind of Christ, through
the eyes of Christ rather.
That's that.
That's it.
It's just, you know, just the aroma is going to focus on the weaknesses.
Like we talked about how good you are, your pride, your giftings going to try to get you
focusing on others and what others have done to bitterness, negativity and blaming fellows
as we've talked about.
You forgiven others, you release judgments against him, um, and then you know that you
pray for them, pray for God to bless him.
And um, so you know, just those elements of a specific things.
A spiritual warfare I think will be specifically very beneficial to everybody, but something
that really need to focus on.
Anything else you want to add in conclusion here?
Think the temperaments.
You know, these are gifts from, these are, these are given out from God.
I mean he, he knew exactly how he created you in your mother's womb.
So no, no, no bad feelings over any of the temperaments that we've gone over, but that
just in some of the areas where on, especially on this one where there's been a lot of collateral
damage in relationships, you know, you can look back and see the wake of broken relationships
behind you.
Uh, there's help for your future.
These weaknesses can be, they can be shit changed.
There's nothing that you're hardwired with where you say, this is just the way I am and
I can't change.
That is not what God says.
The neuroplasticity of your brain says that you can be renewed by the, by the changing
of your mind, right?
Transformed, swarming, renewing of your mind starts with the battlefield of the mind, the
exactly.
That's what the spiritual warfare is a big part of it.
Yeah, and so you can change bottom line, even clerics can change.
That's it.
And clarity and with the clerics, as I say, the special challenges is yielding control.
That's the challenge, that's the the for others or easier to lose control, but clerics are
tough to let somebody, even Jesus be in charge.
Can I trust you?
Jesus, just start to take those steps and say, yes, Lord, you are my savior, but you're
the Lord of Wildlife.
Hope this has been helpful for you.
