10 Stones That Can Make You Rich - Duration: 7:02.

10 Stones That Can Make You Rich.

Number 10.

Priced at $2,500 per carat, Taaffeite is not very familiar to many due to how rare it is.

In fact, it is so scarce that it's considered to be a million times rarer than a diamond.

It was discovered by gemologist Richard Taaffe in 1945 in a jeweler's shop in Dublin, Ireland.

Prior to his discovery, it was misidentified as spinel until he noticed some inconsistencies,

such as the gem refracting light differently compared to the spinel.

It is known to only be found in two locations, Tanzania and Sri Lanka, and some of them are

not even suitable for faceting which makes its supply even more limited.

Number 9.

Priced at $3,300 per carat, Demantoid is a green gemstone that has a "diamond-like" adamantine

luster.

Fascinatingly, its brilliance and dispersion actually exceed that of a diamond's.

Its golden-colored "horsetails" that include cat's eye gems is one of its identifying characteristics.

It was identified as a variety of andradite by the mineralogist Nils Gustaf Nordenski'ld

during the 19th century in Russia which is long known to be a sole source of the rarest

garnets.

While new sources have been discovered, demantoid remains to be very rare.

It is also difficult to look for a demantoid larger than 10 carats as these stones are

typically small in size.

Number 8.

Priced at $3,500 per carat, Opal gemstones have a different evaluation process than other

gemstones with each one of them having their own distinct individuality.

Compared to other opals, black opals are considered rarest and most popular.

Its body has a black color with a firey pattern that looks spectacular in contrast to the

dark background.

Majority of the supply around the world came from Lightning Ridge in New South Wales, Australia.

Number 7.

Priced at $3,800 per carat, Benitoite has a striking blue body color that has a dispersion

higher than a diamond.

As its name, it was discovered by the headwaters in San Benito River in San Benito County,

California where it's now declared as its state gem.

While it has a high dispersion, its intense blue color can mask it.

Hence, admirers may have to choose between letting go of its dispersive display for the

stone's darker blue color or opting for a lighter one with more evident dispersion.

Furthermore, it looks fascinating under UV light where it fluoresces its glowing blue

chalk color.

Number 6.

Priced at $8,000 per carat, Padparadscha sapphire, has a beautiful pinkish orange color that

exhibits the mixture of the hues of ruby and yellow sapphire.

Its name is derived from the Sanskrit/Singhalese word for "aquatic lotus blossom" due to its

color.

Most of these stones are mined from Sri Lanka but they can also be found in Madagascar and

Tanzania.

The finer ones, however, are mostly found in Sri Lanka as the ones in Madagascar are

pinker which makes it have a lower price.

Number 5.

Priced at $10,000 per carat, Red beryl is an extremely rare type of beryl with a raspberry

pink to almost purplish red color.

Despite its name, it is not an emerald but it's an entirely different gemstone.

It was first discovered in 1904 by Maynard Bixby.

Meanwhile, its gem quality stones can only be found in one site, the Wah Wah Mountains

in Utah.

It is so rare that rubies, which are also rare gemstones, are said to be 8,000 times

more plentiful than red beryl.

With that, any clarity and color grade in any size piece of this stone can easily land

a ready buyer.

Number 4.

Priced at $12,000 per carat, Alexandrite is a very rare gemstone variety.

It is popular for its remarkable optical properties: it undergoes dramatic color shifts depending

on the lighting condition.

This is caused by the rare combination of minerals including chromium, iron, and titanium.

It is strongly pleochroic which means it changes color as you rotate it in your hand.

But furthermore, it also changes colors independently of your viewing angle under an artificial

light source.

It is greenish blue under natural light and then becomes reddish purple in soft, incandescent

light.

The Alexandrite was discovered in Russia's Ural Mountains during the 1830s and named

by Count Lev Alekseevich Perovskii in honor of Alexander II, the then-future Czar of Russia,

in 1834.

Number 3.

Priced at $20,000 per carat, Jadeite is jade's most expensive, beautiful, and rarest variety.

While it can be found in many colors, its association with the rich-emerald color of

"imperial jade" continues to be highly valued.

The finest stones in this color can be found in Myanmar.

In the Chinese, Maori, and Meso-American cultures, it is a huge part of their historical weapons,

jewelry, carving, religious and medicinal purposes.

It is even valued more than gold by the Aztecs, Mayas, and Olmecs.

Number 2.

Priced at $35,000 per carat, Musgravite is an extremely rare gemstone in the taaffeite

family.

The mineral was first discovered at the Musgrave Range (thus its name) in South Australia.

It has shown up in other areas such as Antarctica, Greenland, and Madagascar but in highly limited

quantities.

The first sizable gem-quality Musgravite specimen was found in 1993.

It was the first one that is large and pure enough to be cut and shaped.

As of 2005, there are only 8 known specimens of this stone to exist.

Number 1.

The most expensive gemstones in the world are colored diamonds.

Not only are they rare, but they are also known to have a spectacular brilliance and

are the hardest substance found on earth.

Out of all other gemstones, they are arguably the most popular among people; and also the

most advertised and romanticized.

Its wide spectrum of colors includes black, blue, champagne, chocolate/brown, cognac,

green, pink, red and yellow.

Its value is at an entirely different level with the price of $3.93 million per carat.

Trung Quốc muốn Chế Tạo Mặt Trăng GIẢ | Trung Quốc Không Kiểm Duyệt - Duration: 6:46.

That's no moon,

it's a Chinese satellite.

Hi, welcome back to China Uncensored.

I'm your host Chris Chappell.

Romantic moonlit walks are about to become a lot more common,

at least in one part of China.

Because the city of Chengdu

plans to launch an artificial moon—

to light up the night sky.

Yes, this is no joke.

Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province,

which is of course most famous for having

all those stupid pandas that nobody likes.

And Chengdu plans to launch a fake moon

into the night sky by the year 2020.

Wow, only two years away.

And it was reported in China's official state-run media,

so you know it's true.

According to Wu Chunfeng,

chairman of Chengdu Aerospace Science and Technology Microelectronics System Research Institute Co., Ltd.,

whew—

according to that guy,

"the brightness of the 'artificial moon'

is eight times that of the real moon,

and will be bright enough to replace street lights."

Because street lamps are really so inefficient.

Much easier to launch a fake moon into space.

But, Wu says it could save Chengdu about 240 million dollars

in electricity costs every year.

He says the artificial moon will be 300 miles above the Earth.

It will be able to focus light on an area between 6 and 50 miles wide.

I know, that seems like kind of a big range.

The concept is,

it could be programmed to focus its beam more widely or narrowly,

depending, I guess, on which neighborhoods pay their moon bill on time.

Now Wu's artificial moon is actually a satellite

that will complement the Earth's natural moon.

Here's another scientist talking about the Wu's innovation.

"Who else but him would have thought of creating

an energy source that perfectly imitates full moon light?"

Wow, science is exciting.

Wu said the testing for the new moon

has been going on for years,

but it's finally matured.

That's horrifying.

But this isn't entirely a new idea.

Russia triedto do a similar thing

with orbital mirrors almost 20 years ago.

But they couldn't get it to work.

A Norwegian town is successfully redirecting sunlight,

but the mirrors aren't in space.

Just on a tall mountain.

Of course, Chengdu's artificial moon is raising some questions.

For instance, who's going to pay for it?

It's unclear whether funding is coming from Chengdu's local government,

or the central government,

or possibly from a tax on pandas,

which I think is only fair.

However, the company making it is also the main contractor

for the Chinese space program.

And China's space program is run by the military.

So there are some concerns.

First of all, what will an object 8 times brighter

than the full moon do to animals

that rely on the natural moon cycle to live?

We already know that one full moon can make

at least three wolves howl in the night.

With 8 times the brightness,

this T-shirt's going to get a lot more crowded.

That's actually a point People's Daily brought up.

The point about affecting animals,

not the T-shirt design.

But, don't worry, says one Chinese expert.

Even though the fake moon will be

8 times brighter than the real moon,

it will only have a dusk-like glow,

so it won't affect animals' routines.

Wait, which is it, Chengdu?

Will your fake moon be 8 times brighter than the regular moon?

Or will it just emit a dusk-like glow?

Other Chinese officials say it will be powerful enough

to illuminate construction sites and disaster areas,

or be turned to catch sunlight instead of moonlight

and make the day longer.

So it's a fake moon that's 8 times brighter than the moon,

but only gives off a dusk-like glow,

except when it can be used to create eternal daylight.

And while I love the potential that has

as a weapon to fight vampires,

I'm also concerned.

Remember, it's a satellite being built by an agency

closely tied to the Chinese military.

And the Chinese military has been making

a lot of strides at satellite warfare.

What if Chinese Communist Party could use

the fake moon satellite to focus light from the sun

and fry dissidents like a kid

with a magnifying glass does to ants?

Now that would create some real social stability.

In any case, I'm sure the pandas won't even notice.

They already sleep most of the day anway, those lazy bums.

So what do you think of China's plan for a fake moon?

Leave your comments below.

And before we go,

now is the time when I answer questions

from fanswho support China Uncensored

on the crowdfunding website Patreon!

Jonathan Swanberg asks,

"I was wondering,

how difficult is it to become a journalist in China

and maintain your freedom?

I keep on seeing journalists being denied visas

and having their credentials revoked

but is it as difficult as it seems?

It's probably more difficult than it seems.

For Western journalists,

their movement in China can be restricted.

They can be harassed or even roughed up

by police when they try to cover sensitive topics.

And over the years, many Western journalists

have lost their media visas following critical reporting.

Most recently, my friend Megha Rajagopalan (

was denied her visa renewal after her illuminating reports

on the persecution of Uighurs in Xinjiang.

Chinese people who work as journalists

and news assistants for foreign media

have also been harassed and imprisoned.

They have even less protection since they're Chinese citizens.

And it's worse for independent Chinese journalists.

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists,

China is consistently one of the worst

jailers of journalists in the world.

As for Chinese journalists who work for state-run media,

I think the former president of state-run media CCTV

put it best when he said,

"Journalists who think of themselves as professionals,

instead of as propaganda workers,

are making a fundamental mistake about identity."

By the way, I don't report out of Beijing.

And yes, I do still get asked if I'm based in Beijing.

Thanks for your question.

And if you have one you'd like to ask me,

Smart Ways to Pay for College | Consumer Reports - Duration: 4:09.

[SNAP]

College has a lot to offer.

New friends, life-changing experiences, and hopefully,

good career prospects.

But it isn't cheap.

Experts say long before you pack up the car and head to campus,

you should be asking how am I going to pay for school?

That's a question increasingly on this family's mind.

Dara, a high school senior, wants

to go to college like her older sister.

They don't have all the money in the world,

and these days, college is getting increasingly expensive.

So what's a teen like Dara to do?

Well, I do get stressed over money.

It is a little bit overwhelming to think about it all.

And there's a lot to think about.

Student loans, grants, scholarships.

Many students need a combination of these

to pay for school, which is where Donna Rosato comes in.

She writes about finances for Consumer Reports.

So there's a student that wants to go to a particular school,

but he can't, or she can't afford it.

What do they do?

People do not think about the financial fit early enough

in the process.

You have to think about more than just

where it's going to be, you know,

does it have a beautiful dorm?

You know, how's the food on campus?

Really think about the financial cost.

Think about it this way.

Financing college is a little bit like buying a car.

Schools have a sticker price, and a real price.

When you go onto the college websites,

and you look at the tuition, and then

they have the housing, the food, the books, and they

have charts, and then they're like the total and you're like,

but, five slides ago, you told me that it was this price

and now it's like 5,000 more.

To get the real price, you have to know where to look.

Every school has a net price calculator, that's

not as geeky as how it sounds.

When it tells you is, here's a sticker price.

And then here, based on an estimate of your finances,

what it might cost you.

So it'll subtract grants and scholarships

that you might get from the federal government.

So it'll give you a better estimate of how much it

will really cost you.

You can get help from the federal government, states,

and the colleges themselves.

If you haven't saved enough, you still have options.

Make sure you apply for financial aid.

A lot of people think they or their family

may make too much money to get financial aid.

That's not true, there's no income limit on it.

FAFSA, or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid,

is run by the Department of Education.

It doles out more than $120 billion

a year in financial aid to students.

We're kind of your mid-income people.

We definitely qualify.

Scholarships are another way to whittle down

that sticker price.

The biggest source of scholarships and grants

comes from colleges themselves.

And there are other avenues.

All sorts of local businesses and organizations

can also help support a student's education.

Looking at scholarships focused on cooking,

and also high school performance-based scholarships.

And if that still doesn't have you cruising on the highway

to higher education, then loans might.

You're limited on how much you can take out

from the federal government.

If that's not enough to pay for school,

you might turn to a private lender.

A loan can lower the money you put down now,

but paying it back can be a decades-long slog.

We've seen the cost of college increase,

and people have more problems, particularly

with paying back student loans.

Some more tips.

If you have to borrow, choose federally-backed loans.

Read the fine print of the loan agreement,

so you know what you're responsible for.

Only borrow what you need.

I'm definitely really excited to go to college

and have that whole experience, but I

don't want to be paying for it for the rest of my life.

Well Dara, you don't have to.

When it comes to financing college,

it pays to be a smart consumer.

Why On-and-Off Relationships Are Torture|HFE♪ - Duration: 8:26.

Why On-and-Off Relationships Are Torture

In many cases of dependent relationships, the people involved force a new beginning, trying to start from a clean slate.

The problem is that everything they've lived through previously becomes a burden.

Many relationships are on-and-off. That is to say, they end and start over again and again.

From the outsider's perspective, these kinds of relationships have a problem that can't be solved by breaking up and getting back together.

These types of relationships come about when a couple is very united, have been together for a long time or when one of the partners (or both of them) has an emotional dependence.

All of these cases make the pair unable to give up their relationship.

It also pushes them to try to give it another chance. The problem with all of this is that the relationship ends up being a real nightmare.

The torture of reoccurring emotional hurt Throughout our lives, we have to face many kinds of hurt.

Pain from losing a loved one, breaking up with a partner, ending a work contract… Hurting is a difficult process that can lead to depression when we don't handle it well.

People who've been in on-and-off relationships are very used to hurting, but they never reach the last stage of the process.

Let's take a look at the stages of hurting and how the people involved in these relationships might act in each one of them: Denial: The person denies that their relationship didn't work.

He or she doesn't want to see the reality and even tries to act as if nothing happened.

When the denial caves in on itself, the person enters into the next stage.

Anger: In this stage, the couple blames each for the relationship, for the problems and for why it failed.

It's a phase where the couple can only remember the negative things and can only see each other in anger.

Sadness: Here, after losing control of the very powerful emotion, anger, another one emerges.

An deep, paralyzing sadness that reminds the couple of the good times and gives them nostalgia of why they stayed together.

Negotiation: The couple tries to get back together and, in the cases of on-and-off relationships, they eventually do.

Sadness reminds them how worth it everything was, which pushes them to give it another chance.

They refuse to give up their relationship.

The last stage is acceptance.

Accepting that a relationship didn't work, accepting that with each new chance at the relationship comes a new failure.

However, people involved in on-and-off relationships don't want to accept that their relationship has an end.

This is why couples eventually agree to give the relationship another shot in the negotiation stage.

They might agree under the premise of "I'm going to change".

On-and-off relationships and fears The fact that unstable relationships can't reach the last stage of hurt, thus letting go of the relationship in order to start a new path, has to do with fears.

People who've been with their partner for more than 6 or 8 years have lived through so many experiences together.

They're so cleaved to each other that it seems impossible to not fight for what they have.

Despite the fact that their break-ups (which are sometimes camouflaged as "I need a break") mean that something isn't working, they try to hang on to it at any cost.

It's normal for a couple to have a crisis, but it isn't normal to break up then get back together again and again.

Doing so hurts both members more and more.

Meanwhile, they ignore the real root of the problem.

If both partners are co-dependent, the same dilemma occurs. On-and-off relationships manifest the life being impossible without the other, or living without a partner.

Sometimes letting of that person might seem hard and we might think that we can force a new beginning as if we could start again from a clean slate when, in reality, it doesn't work like that.

What didn't work won't work What causes a relationship to break off then make up multiple times? The reason can give us clues telling us that we don't know how to face conflict or that we're running into the same wall over and over again.

If the problem stems from our personalities clashing in some way, if we have different perspectives on life or incompatible goals (one wants to live abroad and the other, stay in their home country) there's no solution.

The promises of change and attempts to bring the impossible together is fruitless.  On the other hand, if the problem results from the couple working together or having kids and the stress that comes along with them, then there's a way to manage the situation correctly.

Looking for professional help or seeking couple's therapy might help.

On-and-off relationships are torture.

So, we have to see where the problem is.

We need to see if we're taking chances that won't lead us anywhere or, if, on the opposite side of the spectrum, we have to learn how to better manage a certain area in our life.

What to Do If You Wake Up at Night|HFE♪ - Duration: 10:03.

What to Do If You Wake Up at Night

Below, we'll talk about what you can do if you wake up during the night so you can avoid the negative consequences.

We can experience insomnia at any moment, not just when trying to sleep.

Sometimes, we might wake up in the middle of the night and struggle falling back asleep.

What if I wake up in the middle of the night? Waking up in the early hours of the day and failing to fall back asleep is exasperating. We want to rest because the alarm clock won't go off for a while and we know that without a good night's rest, we'll turn into zombies the next day.

Waking up in the middle of the night can be a consequence of different reasons: hearing a loud sound from outside (such as a firetruck siren, for example), having a nightmare, getting too cold or hot, etc.

Once we wake up, it can be quite tricky to fall asleep again.

Some people choose to switch up their sleeping position a couple times in their bed.

On the other hand, there are some people that choose to get up and finish things on their to-do list (sometimes even out-of-the-ordinary activities as well).

Enjoying a good night's sleep is essential for our physical and mental health. Not getting quality sleep leads to apathy, irritability, memory and attention problems, drowsiness and many other negative results.

Additionally, work and social relationships deteriorate when we don't get enough rest.

When should we be worried about waking up too soon? When it happens more than three times a week.

It could be a sign that we're too stressed, anxious or nervous.

In the long term, it'll have serious implications for our health.

Getting up to prep for sleep If we wake up in the middle of the night, something we can try is getting out of bed, leaving the room, turning on a dim light and doing a relaxing activity for 20 or 30 minutes.

After said time, go back to bed and try to sleep.

Of course, what we consider to be "a relaxing activity" is up to personal judgement.

For some, it might be meditating or practicing yoga while others might read, play cards or look through photographs.

In any case, it should be an activity that doesn't rev up our nervous system.

For no reason whatsoever do we need to turn to coffee, alcohol or tobacco.

If we want to use a tablet or cellphone, we really should reduce the screen contrast and light to the max and avoid white, green and blue lights that inhibit melatonin production (which is a hormone that allows us to sleep).

If we want to watch television, choosing an appropriate program is essential for falling back asleep. You're better off without action, violent news or videos with flashy colors and lights.

If we go back to sleep and wake up again, do the same thing except if you wake up again 1 or 2 hours before the time you were planning to wake up.

In the latter case, it's better to get up and just start the day earlier.

We'll definitely have enough chores that we could get a head start on (preparing dinner, jotting down a grocery list, laundry, tidying up rooms, etc.).

How to recover from waking up during the night No matter how poorly we might have slept the previous night, we can't make the mistake of compensating with a 3 hour nap.

We also can't manually set back our clock and wake up later.

These ideas only worsen insomnia, turning it into a chronic problem.

After a night of insomnia or waking up at odd hours, you should try to recover your rest as soon as possible so that you can see to your obligations and activities the following day.

Some advice that might help are the following: 1.

Raise vitamin B12 intake If you don't rest sufficiently, your body consumes higher quantities of B group vitamins (energy sources).

If this nutrient becomes scarce in your body, it'll make you feel sluggish, moody as well as unable to concentrate.

To recuperate this lost vitamin, you can eat any of the following foods: Clams, oysters, mussels.

Fish, octopus, squid. Liver.

Cheese. Eggs.

Drink ginger tea This root has a lot of properties that we shouldn't think twice about adding to our daily diet.

When we suffer from waking up at odd hours in the night, there's an increase in the hormone cortisol and it leaves our body in a state of constant stress.

Elevated levels of cortisol also raise blood pressure, provoke anxiety and reduce immune responses.

In order to counteract these negative effects, there's nothing better than a cup of ginger tea. It's very simple to make.

Ingredients ¼ teaspoon of grated ginger (2 grams).

1 cup of water (250 mililiters).

1 tablespoon of honey (20 grams).

1 black tea bag.

Preparation Heat up some water and put it in a mug.

Add the teabag and leave it to steep for 5 minutes.

Take out the bag and add the ginger.

Stir and sweeten with the honey.

Avoid sugars and fat Foods abundant in carbohydrates, fats and sugars aren't recommendable in the least bit because they immediately "unleash" energy.

You might think that fast energy is what you would need in order to feel better after waking up during the middle of the night, but this effect is just temporary.

After a few minutes, you'll feel even more tired that you did before.

Instead, choose to eat healthy foods that are rich in proteins, fiver and natural fats that'll offer you longer lasting energy.

Say goodbye to waking up during the middle of the night!  .

10 Signs You May Have Hypothyroidism|HFE♪ - Duration: 7:34.

10 Signs You May Have Hypothyroidism

If you notice any of these symptoms for no apparent reason, it's a good idea to go to the doctor and have the necessary tests done to get an early hypothyroidism diagnosis   Hypothyroidism is a disorder that affects the thyroid gland.

It's produced by a low production of hormones, which triggers problems in various parts of your body.

It is a common problem for women who are over 60.

It can occur at younger ages, however, due to exposure to factors that interfere with the function of your thyroid.

In the initial stages it may not be noticeable.

But, as it progresses, this disorder causes numerous conditions that affect your quality of life.

It's very important to know how to identify it.

This way, you can find a treatment that will minimize its negative effects on your body.

For this reason we want to review some of the causes of hypothyroidism and share 10 key symptoms with you so you'll recognize them if they develop.

Find out more! What are the causes of hypothyroidism? Your thyroid is a small butterfly shaped gland located in the lower part of your neck, near the front.

Its main function is to secrete hormones such as triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4), which are involved with many bodily functions.

They mainly regulate your metabolic health, maintaining a rhythm that allows your body to process fats and carbohydrates.

They also control your body temperature, heart rate, and protein production.

Hypothyroidism occurs when this glad doesn't produce enough hormones, or loses the ability to produce them at all.

This can be caused by the following: Autoimmune diseases, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis Thyroid surgery Treatments for hyperthyroidism Radiation therapy for head or neck cancer The consumption of certain psychotic medications Iodine deficiency A pituitary gland disorder Pregnancy or post-pregnancy Family history of thyroid disease Symptoms of hypothyroidism For many patients, hypothyroidism is hard to recognize because the symptoms develop slowly in the early stages.

Nevertheless, there are several signs that are useful for its detection, even though they may also indicate other conditions.

1-Sudden weight gain An alteration in your metabolism due to the low production of thyroid hormones can trigger a sudden increase in your weight, even if you have healthy eating habits.

2-Fatigue Hypothyroidism affects your circulation and decreases your body's ability to deliver oxygen to your cells and tissues.

As a result, it's common to be in a state of fatigue.

3-High cholesterol levels There are many factors that can influence your cholesterol levels. Don't ignore the fact that this problem could be an indicator of a thyroid problem, however.

4-Irritability or a bad mood The hormonal changes that are produced by a malfunctioning thyroid gland can produce sudden mood swings that lead to stress, depression, and irritability.

5-Difficulty concentrating Hypothyroidism has an impact on your brain and nervous system activity.

That's why it's common for patients with this problem to have difficulty concentrating.

6-Dry skin, hair, and nails This disorder also affects your appearance.

The changes that are occurring in your body are reflected in dry hair, skin, and nails.

7-Slow digestion Slow digestion or constipation can occur when your thyroid isn't producing enough hormones.

This is because they regulate the activity of the digestive tract, which is key to eliminating solid waste.

8-Muscle aches It can be difficult to recognize muscle pain as a sign of a thyroid problem.

In spite of this, it's important to remember that sometimes it is the result of weakened muscles due to low thyroid hormone production.

9-Irregular periods The alteration of hormone production by your thyroid can influence your period.

You may have very long or very heavy periods.

10-Sensitivity to cold Patients with hypothyroidism have circulation problems that can increase their sensitivity to cold.

Their extremities may feel cold and stiff.

Do you recognize any of the symptoms mentioned here? If you think you might be suffering from this disorder, talk to your doctor and request the relevant tests.

This article will show you how to prepare a delicious and refreshing mint and ginger drink that will naturally activate your metabolism.

What is metabolism? Metabolism is the process by which our bodies convert the food we eat into energy.

A metabolism's slowness can be mild or more severe.

In these cases, it's usually caused by another condition, like hypothyroidism or insulin resistance.

In any case, it's often related to a hormone imbalance.

It's important to consider that eating small amounts or not eating enough calories also slows metabolism as a survival mechanism.

That's why we don't recommend low-calorie diets to lose weight. Ideally, you should eat more protein and healthy fats, and eat less carbohydrates, especially refined ones.

5 Drinks to Help You Sleep Better and Lose Weight: You'll Love Them!

These drinks to help you sleep better are also a great way to boost your metabolism and help you lose weight.

Give them a try!.

A good night's rest and losing weight are two goals that aren't hard to achieve with one remedy, one natural solution.

The key to this secret can be found in discovering alternative foods with the capacity to act as a natural sedative to our bodies, while at the same time taking care of our liver.

We can't forget that this organ is responsible for the essential duties involved in detoxification throughout the night.

These basic and necessary functions help stabilize our blood sugar levels.

They're also in charge of taking the necessary actions to eliminate harmful substances, prevent liquid retention, and synthesize enzymes and vitamins.

A liver that properly works throughout the night not only leads to better rest, but also facilitates easier weight loss.

A good night's rest by itself doesn't make us lose weight; instead, the maintenance of a more balanced and healthy body allows us to lose those extra pounds a little easier.

We'd like to suggest that from here on out, you introduce these habits into your before-bedtime routine.

If you drink one of these natural drinks one hour before bed, you'll end up with a restorative sleep and will optimize hepatic functioning.

We're sure you'll love them.

Would you like to try?.

Drinks to Help you Sleep Better.

Grape juice to sleep better and lose weight.

Natural grape juice is a fantastic resource for maintaining our health.

Now, if we get used to drinking a glass of grape juice every night, various things are going to happen:.

The first is detoxing our bodies and obtaining many antioxidants, which are very helpful for our liver.

Interestingly, grape juice is also easy and quick to digest.

We can't forget to mention that its advantages carry through to the next morning: it also combats constipation and acts as a natural diuretic.

Fun fact: cherry juice is just as beneficial as grape juice.

Cherries help us synthesize melatonin, the hormone responsible for regulating our sleep-wake cycle.

Chamomile tea.

We're sure you've probably, more than once, drank manzanilla or chamomile tea to calm your nerves.

This plant, dating back centuries in natural medicine, releases a compound called apigenin.

Apigenin is an element that creates a reaction similar to a relaxation medicine by connecting gamma-Aminobutyric acid receptors in the brain.

On top of acting as a light tranquilizer, chamomile tea acts as an intermediary for the overall health of the digestive system: it betters the absorption of nutrients, is a diuretic, and cares for our liver.

Finally, remember: don't drink these nighttime drinks at high temperatures.

Kefir with honey.

As you know, one of the most effective remedies to catch some Z's is a warm glass of milk with honey.

Well, since so many people have lactose sensitivities or allergies, kefirserves as a better option.

Consuming fermented foods rich in healthy bacterias is extremely beneficial for the liver: it helps us create more bile through cholesterol.

At the same time, it's important to note that kefir improves digestion, prevents constipation, and cleans out our intestines.

Another interesting fact is that kefir has an "anti-stress" effect.

Kefir contains tryptophan, an amazing amino acid that, together with magnesium, contributes to a good night's sleep.

If we also add a teaspoon of honey to the kefir, we will benefit from the "L-tryptophan", another essential amino acid for getting some rest.

Almond milk.

Drinking almond milk with a bit of honey also will help us sleep better.

This combination provides a perfect and small bit of glucose that helps the brain regulate orexin, a neurotransmitter that its main job is to create and maintain the body's alertness.

Equally important, almond milk also helps us regulate levels of high cholesterol or triglycerides, something essential for weight loss.

Warm water with lemon.

On our site, we'll always recommend warm water with lemon to wake up or while fasting.

Well, starting today, you can change that habit and start drinking it an hour before going to bed.

It will help clean your liver of toxins and impurities You will make more of your body's alkaline, which is super helpful for the lymphatic and circulatory systems when completing their cleansing routines during the nighttime.

Lemon improves digestion, and because of that, we find ourselves more relaxed and free of potential stomach issues that may wake us up in the middle of the night.

Also, if you eat a meal high in saturated fats, it will help lighten the load and metabolize the meal.

Feel free to try one of these ideas every day and little by little, you'll notice the benefits.
