If you've been playing Japanese games for as long as I have, then you know that they
have some of the best games.
From the emotionally memorable to the visually bizarre, Japan has made a significant impact
in the gaming scene since its inception.
And yet many of these games remain relatively obscure and unknown in the West.
Here at Backlog Battle, I'm trying to change that with every video, and I hope you'll
join me as we lift the veil on these games and find the very best titles from Japan and
beyond!
I'm bringing a uniquely Western perspective when talking about these games which can help
anyone relate, whether you're a fan of Japanese games, Western games, or both!
On this channel, you'll find the Hours Later reviews, where I not only tell you how long
it took me to finish each game from the get-go, but also dive deep into some of the more noteworthy
aspects of each game, with a tried and true 5 point rating system.
Also on the channel are the Hours In impressions, which give you a quick glimpse of how the
first hours of a game might play out.
It's like a mini-review before an actual review, and combined with the Hours Later
reviews, you can see a progression of thoughts about a game from the beginning to the very
end!
Accompanying the videos you'll see on this channel is our podcast called For The Love
of Video Games, hosted by me and Daniel Santos from ShintaiReviews.
For The Love of Video Games celebrates the hobby by expanding the conversation beyond
the videos and bringing in guests to talk about various topics.
We have both video and audio versions of the show, with the latter being available on popular
podcast apps such as iTunes, Spotify, and Stitcher!
