SAMSUNG has seemingly had the lid blown on its August 9 Unpacked reveal event early.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to be officially unveiled at the August 9 Unpacked
event, although there may not be much left to reveal.
A new leak has seemingly shown off the Galaxy Note 9 specs ahead of the official launch.
Unlike other leaks, this shows an official Samsung document with all the important facts
and figures on display.
The image comes from Russia where a retail box of the alleged Note 9 has been snapped.
On the rear of the box is listed all the key stats about the handset.
The much rumoured new S Pen, for example, is listed simply as "S Pen with remote control".
This likely refers to the new Bluetooth powered S Pen which will allegedly allow that button
to be used as a remote for things like the camera shutter and even third party devices
like Samsung TVs.
Elsewhere, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 display is said be a 6.4-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED, which
fits with what's been rumoured so far.
Behind that should be a whopping 4,000mAh battery powering the handset and its large
screen, again fitting with the leaked rumours we've already heard.
This will be supported by wireless charging, but there was no mention of faster wireless
charging, something we'd hope for with a battery of that size.
The front is expected to have an 8MP selfie snapper, although there was no word on if
this could offer that blurred Bokeh background effect minus the depth sensing of dual cameras.
This camera should be backed with sensors that include infrared as the device is listed
as featuring iris scanning security.
Samsung was previously rumoured to be working on an enhanced version of its iris scanning
for the Note 9.
The rear camera should also be able to record video in Samsung's Super Slo-mo of 960fps.
Despite all this high quality imagery, storage shouldn't be an issue thanks to 128GB onboard.
Speed should also not be a problem with a hefty 6GB of RAM supporting this handset.
Everything is encased in an IP68 rated water and dust-proof build that should make this
tough even without a case.
AKG stereo speakers and earphones come as standard with the Note 9, it would seem.
The phone will also feature NFC that is ready to allow the Note 9 to be used as a contactless
payment device, specifically with Samsung Pay support listed.
