Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump Have A Hoarding Problem - Duration: 3:00.

- The thing is, I don't even think I need to tidy up.

And I don't care what some stinkin' book says.

I mean, Marie Kondo, more like Marie can go

straight to H-E-L, because I'm keepin' my stuff.

I have a very strong feeling about this.

And that feeling is timid.

(ominous music)

Oh!

- You need to get rid of a tie within the next minute.

This one, perfect, it's hideous.

Give it to me, and I'll give to Maria.

- To Marie Kondo?

- No, to our housekeeper Maria.

How would I even get a tie to Marie Kondo?

- In a book. - What does that mean?

- In a book. - No, Jared.

I'm gonna give it to Maria,

so she can take it to wherever she goes to burn things.

- Oh, speaking of, I need to burn some things.

Some contracts, some papers, a few phone conversations.

- Okay, I really don't want to be implicated in anything,

but you cannot burn phone calls.

- What?

Since when?

- Since, since always.

You can't burn ideas.

- Huh, no one told me.

Do I have to get rid of this one?

Because this one's actually very important to me.

I wore it on my first job interview.

- You've never been on a job interview.

- Oh, you're right.

What am I thinking of?

Something with finals club?

- No, 'cause you've never been on an interview

for anything in your entire life.

- I know what it is, I wore this in a conversation.

- That's it. - A fancy conversation.

With a man, fat, bald, very rich.

I remember him clearly. - Anyway, it's hideous,

regardless of who you were talking to,

so just hand it over and we can get rid of it.

- All right, well,

I will give it to you. - Yeah.

Perfect. - There you are.

- Great. - There you go.

Jared, your little fingers are wrapped around it.

Like little claws.

- I'm letting go. - Jared.

Since when are you strong? - Let's do a countdown.

Let's do a little countdown.

- Okay, great. - A thousand.

999. - No.

- [Jared] I'm letting go, I'm letting go.

- Don't disobey me!

Gimme that. - I'm letting go.

- Gimme that. - I'm letting go.

Well, um,

look at that, I ended up with the tie

so I guess I should just keep it.

- If you put the tie back in that closet,

you're never gonna meet Theresa May.

- Oh, look, look over there, Maria!

She's taking your jewelry.

- What?

She's not allowed to do that. - Well!

Got rid of the tie, just like you asked.

So let's go and have some snacks.

Crackers, maybe, or something.

- [Ivanka] No crackers for a year.

- Fiscal or calendar?

- Both. (Jared groans)

Let's go.

Bye things.

Woman Wins $15M Against Big Pharma For Antiepileptic Drug Depakote - Duration: 1:10.

Finally tonight, some good news for another victim of Big Pharma's defective drugs.

A federal jury has awarded fifteen million dollars to a woman's 10-year-old son born

with a rare chronic condition called spina bifida – a birth defect where a developing

baby's spinal cord fails to develop properly.

The Plaintiff argued her son's condition is the result of a bipolar treatment drug, called

Depakote, made by pharmaceutical company AbbVie.

The lawsuit said that AbbVie failed to provide adequate warning about the risks of taking

the drug while pregnant.

While jurors did not award punitive damages in this case, this is hardly the first time

Depakote has been in legal hot water.

Back in 2012, when the drug was owned by a different corporation called Abbott, the company

had to pay out 1.6 billion dollars for promoting the drug for unapproved uses.

Currently more than 600 injury claims related to Depakote are pending in federal and state

courts.

This award will hopefully allow the plaintiff's son -- at the very least to receive the best

medical care available for the rest of his life.

BREAKING: John Podesta Just Got Bad News – Hillary Panicking - Duration: 2:22.

Remember when the DNC servers were hacked and they refused to let the FBI investigate

the crime — clearly because of all of their crimes which that hack revealed?

Yeah, that's about to bite John Podesta.

John Podesta has just been ordered to appear before the House Intelligence Committee for

an interview.

This means he's going to be put under oath and at the mercy of the Committee's questions!

(via The Washington Examiner).

One of the first questions I imagine the House Intelligence Committee is going to have for

him is why he didn't allow the FBI to investigate the DNC hacking.

There is just no good answer that doesn't implicate him in a crime.

And, because Podesta's personal emails were leaked by Wikileaks the House Intelligence

Committee could delve into that closet too.

They could ask him about Seth Rich.

They could ask him what he meant by "making an example" of someone.

They could grill him on what he knew about Clinton's warmongering in Yemen.

Any answer to any of these questions is also going to implicate Hillary Clinton in their

crimes.

John Podesta has been so close to Hillary Clinton for so long.

I'm honestly surprised that the Clinton machine hasn't labeled Podesta as a liability

yet.

Although, I suppose there is still time for a horrible accident to befall him before he

testifies.

At first, I was a little troubled that the House decided this meeting with Podesta would

occur in private.

We all want to see him taken down publicly.

But, this may be a powerful strategic move, perhaps even being suggested by Trump himself.

If the interview is private, I think Podesta is a lot more likely to make it in front of

the committee alive.

Second, because the whole world knows Podesta had his hands on classified information, he

could have used that as an excuse to avoid the committee's questioning.

But, because the interview will be private, any excuse about a subject or document being

classified will ring false.

What information could he know that the committee members won't?

This could be the first step to dragging the whole Clinton machine into the jail cell where

it belongs.

I really, really hope it is.

What do you want the House Intelligence Committee to ask John Podesta?

Please share this news and tell us what you think!

Tackling Diabetes with the Tulane Prevention Research Center | Humana - Duration: 1:07.

I thought Humana would be a really wonderful partner for the Prevention Research Center

in our work.

Right now we're focused on the prevention and reduction of obesity.

But we do that in a rather unusual way.

We focus on the physical and social environmental factors that influence diet and physical activity.

The Bold Goal initiative by Humana fit right in with that because their slogan is to help

make health easier.

And by addressing the physical and social environmental factors, that's exactly what

we're doing at the Prevention Research Center.

The expanded reach that Humana provides as a partner only helps our efforts.

And the expertise in our experience that we can provide to Humana helps their efforts.

So, I think it's a mutually beneficial relationship.

And I hope to see it go on for quite a long time.

And certainly beyond 2020.

Countering Extremists VS Straw Men - Duration: 4:17.

In the right, or wrong if you prefer, minds, any ideology can be taken to an extreme.

I think most people are familiar with some forms of extremists, whether through religion or political views.

Some obvious examples that may come to mind include terrorist organizations, but even someone maintaining peaceful advocacy may go to an extreme.

So, what's an extremist? Quite simply, an extremist is someone who holds or advocates extreme views.

Usually, these are political or religious views, and often an extremist will advocate for things that are illegal or even violent.

At the very least, the views/advocacy is something outside of what is considered normal and acceptable.

This extreme is generally even beyond what others who agree with some underlying principle would accept.

An example of an extremist would be someone who believes the US should become a straight-up theocracy (of any kind).

While they may or may not actually advocate violence or law-breaking,

this is a position well beyond what normal people (even religious people) would consider a viable stance.

A strawman, on the other hand, is where you set up a more easily knocked down version of your opponent's argument.

This allows you to counter something less substantial than what they really said, appearing to win without ever actually addressing the position they hold.

Typically, strawman refers to this being done intentionally,

but that said, there are many ways to accidentally wind up doing this, and it's difficult if not impossible to tell between them.

Example: Let's say Joe argues that the Westboro Baptist Church is a hate group, and they should be opposed.

Then his friend Tom replies "Religion does a lot of good in the world! How can you say we should eliminate all religion?!"

This is obviously not what was said.

Arguing that one specific church should be opposed isn't saying that all religion must be opposed, let alone eliminated.

So first, where do these things overlap?

Simply put, many (I'd venture to guess most) strawmen, even accidental ones, are created from the extremist form of something.

Strawmen often wind up putting someone in the position of either clarifying what they weren't actually saying or defending a position they don't actually hold.

The fact that they don't hold the position, however, doesn't mean that nobody does.

In fact, they are often positions that someone does hold.

The person using a strawman pretends to knock down what hasn't actually been addressed,

but the same argument may be perfectly valid if used against the actual extreme position mentioned.

At the same time, people tend to assume (unless you explicitly state otherwise) that an argument is representing or refuting the "normal" case.

One place I've seen a lot of this confusion is when it comes to "not all" arguments.

Whether we're discussing "not all men," "not all Muslims," or whatever other groups,

it can wind up being either of these situations.

If it's a response to a specific person criticizing some part of the group, then it may well be a strawman.

If it's in response to frustration with people who make universal claims, it's probably arguing against extremists.

If it's against everyone who holds a general idea in common (for example the idea that Islam needs to be countered), we're back at a strawman.

Unfortunately, arguing against extremists can often be misunderstood as arguing against the more general positions.

This is a problem made worse by muddied terms and limited exposure to the reasonable opposition that exists.

Without clarifying that you're discussing specifically a subgroup that says or does a certain thing or a specific case,

people may assume you mean your argument to counter the more moderate position.

Similarly, they may assume you think the extreme position is the most common, or all that exists.

Then, you may both be talking past each other, essentially fighting strawmen instead of having any kind of reasonable discussion.

But what do you think? When do you think that arguing against extremists turns into fighting a strawman?

What do you think sets these two things apart?
