HIJABS in 2018 | S02E02 - Duration: 6:37.

Wearing religious garb, specifically the Hijab, is a form of passive terrorism. it

It seems to me that socially and subconsciously..

.. whenever we talk about

Hijabs or head scarves or anything related- there are three things that come to mind.

So let's understand the concept of veils, or Hijabs and either find ways to improve our

understanding about each of these issues or try to morally look at this topic..

.. and see whether we should be doing the judging at all, or not.

Hello again, lovely earthlings!

Welcome to another episode of "Who Are You Talking To?"

A show where we review the world, current events, and all sorts of subjects..

.. in more ways than one.

And as usual and as a reminder we must

.. about any topic that comes our way.

We must also review it with a..

.. before forming an opinion or judgment.

In this episode we will attempt to understand all the issues behind hijab

or veils that exist among us socially or online.

Mr Pessimist: Oh, here we go again!

why does everything on this show have to be religious? Why am I even here?

Mr Optimist: You are here because you are part of us.

And stop being so..

wearing a hijab is

more of a religious cultural act rather than a religious act.

Mr P: Yeah, okay. but have you seen how people's religious affiliation has

these abuses even further?

Clearly we need to expose these kinds of issues about hijab and before

we start making any judgments I really feel that we need to internalize the conversation first.

Headscarves in general have been worn

by many people.. men and women.. for literally thousands of years but this

topic only gained negative momentum after the mainstream media started

associating terrorism with Muslims. And a new campaign on unnecessary hate and

fear mongering started.

So let's try to sort this one at a time, please!

#1 - those who associate woman with terrorists

you can't simply judge someone of being

a terrorist just because they're Muslim.. !

Why not?

People are following Islam, right?

I mean across the globe people who are following Islam are blowing things up

these woman are here to terrorize!

Then the same analogy can be used for people

from British or American countries. These are the people who have been bringing

slaves from all over the world and they're the ones who are causing all the

wars all around the world these are global terrorists.

#2 - those who oppress woman to wear these hijabs.

Why would you force somebody to wear it

I mean is it prescribed in the holy book or something or is it a law?

Historically, both men and women used to wear hijabs in the past, especially in the Persian

Greek or Mediterranean era. The only reason why it's associated to Islam now

is because of a few verses.

Where did this come from in Islam anyways?

If you look at the Quran and you read the verses that some scholars use..

Quran isn't necessarily pinpointing out what kind of a veil people should be wearing

It does not say that a full face veil should be worn or a a head scarf

should be worn. The only statement that they're making for both men and women is

that they should dress modestly.

#3 - those who judge these women who are trying to express themselves while wearing hijabs.

Can't a person express themselves if they are wearing a hijab?

Due to the association of this practice in

Islamic culture (freedom of expression) in turn becomes associated to vulgarity.

Just because the person is wearing a hijab it doesn't mean that they've ultimately

turned into angels or they're unsusceptible to committing any sins or

any wrongdoings. What logic is that?

So anyone who's wearing a hijab doesn't

matter what they're doing will be targeted for different means.

I'm sorry Earthlings but we've been looking at the situation the wrong way

for years now.

We must free our women from these petty issues.

Rather, we should be empowering them to be ambassadors of justice, equality, and free will!

The ones who are abusing these women ..

The ones who are oppressing these women..

The ones who are judging these women..

What I do know is that, we- the people of 2018+, Millennials, have a moral responsibility to act on these

abuses.. to act on these issues.

Let them (women) be comfortable or not comfortable.

If they're not comfortable: they will take off the hijab.

If they are comfortable they will continue wearing it..

Who are we to be telling women what they shouldn't wear and what they should.

I don't know why we have to bother about these things.

So if I ask you again would you still associate women

wearing a Hijab as terrorists?

Would you still force women to wear a hijab?

Or would you continually judge those women who are wearing a hijab, on their own means?

Why?
