- Hi everyone, welcome to The Pit Stop.

I am your host Raja and today I am so excited.

I am joined by the very beautiful,

the very exciting, larger than life personality,

please welcome Ginger Minj everybody.

- Larger than life, at least larger than this dress.

- I had to go there.

- Hi.

- Thank you so much for being here.

- Thanks for having me.

- We have a lot to cover today.

This is the final four episode.

But let's talk a little about what happened last week.

- Let's talk about it.

- Kameron Michaels for the third time,

has to lip sync for her life, and sends Miz Cracker home.

- I know.

- Bless.

- Well that was kind of Sophie's Choice at that point.

You know, I love both of them so much.

I think both of them are completely different

in what they offer to the competition.

- Yup.

- But then Kameron came in and slayed that lip sync.

- They both slayed the lip sync.

- They did.

- They were both quite amazing.

- Oh absolutely, but there was passion and fire in Kameron.

You could really see it.

- Yeah and unfortunately emotions really kind of

took over Miz Cracker and she had to go

and I'm sad to see her gone, she really brought it.

- But, I feel like she always did what she does.

- She's so (bleep) adorable.

- She is.

- So Aquaria wins for the third time.

Is she the contender of the season

'cause she is not messing around.

- Well, I don't know if you can say that she

is the contender, but she's won three challenges

and she has never been in the bottom two.

I feel like no matter what happens at this point,

she has already set the bar so high for herself

that people are going to love

and revere her for everything that she does.

- And it's just wonderful to see someone

so young to really get it.

Let's move on to the Maxi Challenge.

- Let's do it.

- First things first, they have to write lyrics

and perform in Ru's Song America.

Second, they had to learn what Ru called

the most difficult choreography

in RuPaul's Drag Race herstory.

And last but not least they get to hang out

with Ru and Michelle in a podcast.

What do you think of this multi-layered lasagna

of a challenge, it was like tiered.

- First of all, I actually, I'm really jealous of it.

Because I love that they have now switched it

to these live performances.

It's like a mini pageant.

- I think a lot of the focus on Drag Race

is there's a lot of lip sync.

Lip Sync For Your Life, it's the big challenge,

but not everybody lip syncs.

So it's nice to see performers actually perform live.

Okay let's talk about the recordings itself.

Who do you think did the best in this?

Well I'll be Kameron, Kameron was a shock to me, fetch.

- Fantastic, absolutely,

her voice is actually really lovely.

- Yeah.

- I think the one that went in with

the most confidence was Eureka,

like she just jumped into it and

she nailed the recording of it.

Aquaria went in with the confidence

and then immediately lost it once Todrick was like, no.

But she pulled it out in the end,

and I really loved her verse.

- So the next part is the podcast.

You were talking about pageants earlier,

and this is that interview.

It is like you are sitting in front of the judges.

- Yeah, well I thought that all of them,

especially considering how daunting that is,

handled themselves very well.

I thought that, I learned about Aquaria and Kameron,

that I didn't know watching the entire rest of the season.

I also really love Asia's viewpoint on drag.

Where it comes from, where it is, and where it's going.

And I think that there's something very important

in the way that she broke that down for Ru and Michelle.

- Okay, last but certainly not the least.

I don't know how they did this,

but it would take a miracle from God herself,

to get me through this choreography.

(laughing)

- You and me both.

- Honey, when Ru said that it was the most

and challenging choreography, she was not (bleep) joking.

- And I just, I was watching Aquaria,

when she was going first and just,

my body ached for her.

- No Aquaria I thought did a fantastic job

but of course she did.

- It had to be very daunting for the other three

to sit there and go, well if this is where we're starting.

- I also think that our viewers and fans don't realize,

you know, you don't get days to do this.

This is all done within minutes.

- 48 hours.

You got 48 hours to do everything.

- [Raja] All of it.

- And it was really nice to see that once they did perform,

they all overcame those fears.

And they knocked it out of the park.

This was one of the best performances in Drag Race history.

- [Raja] Absolutely, absolutely, and when they finally

performed you see how natural at it they are.

And how for many us, performance is our sweet release.

It's runway time.

Runway, take it to the runway, runway.

Which is my favorite time.

'Cause that's when the girls pull all the looks.

Let's go down the list, Aquaria.

- [Ginger] Stunning, from head to toe.

Not one detail out of place.

- I loved that little trumpet skirt,

and she had so much to say.

She really is in this game and knows the responsibility

that is at hand in winning it.

- Yes.

- [Raja] Next week we have Asia O'Hara.

- Beautiful, that Tiffany's blue,

emblazoned with the gold metallic, just so eye catching.

The one thing that I didn't love about it

was I felt it was little bit too short,

but I can forgive that.

- [Raja] Next we have Kameron Michaels.

- [Ginger] Just soft, feminine.

- [Raja} Beautiful.

- [Ginger] Beautiful.

- [Raja] And that soft lavender color

really really looks gorgeous on her,

I really appreciated that look.

She looks stunning.

And last but not least, Eureka.

- [Ginger] I liked it but it's the same issue

that I had with Asia's outfit.

I felt like it was too short.

- [Raja] Yeah.

- [Ginger] It's so funny to me that the two pageant girls

are the two that came out with short dresses.

- Now, this is not my favorite Eureka look really.

I saw her really really go for it all season

and then I was like, oh, okay.

So the season is close to an end

but let's look back a little bit.

What is your favorite moment out of the entire season.

Name one.

- I think the moment that sticks out in my head

is Asia as Buttrface.

It's so funny to me.

- Brilliant.

- And because I had followed her for so long

and know her as this beautiful,

glamorous pageant title holder.

I never expected to see her take herself there.

- To me, season 10 really brought it to the runway.

There were so many moments that I can't even count

where I was just like, oh wow. Oh werk, yas, on the runway.

- It was one of the best seasons in a while.

I really enjoyed every moment of it.

- Lip Sync For Your Life, they all had to lip sync together.

Who was your favorite?

- I thought that they all did really well.

But I think if you make it to the top four,

you should have fun with it.

You should enjoy that, because that's your last moment.

- It's rare that you get to be up there

with four people and just show off.

So no one went home.

- None!

- I was relieved, I was like okay, cool.

- Yeah, which makes me kind of wonder

if it's gonna be like it was on season nine.

Because I know it gets a lot of flak,

but I really enjoyed that.

I didn't know what the hell was gonna happen.

- So we all love them in the lip sync

and no one got to go home.

But do you Ginger Minj, think that someone should have?

- If it had to be.

- Mmm hmm, who would you say go home?

- Like I had absolutely no choice.

Probably Kameron, just statistically.

But I'm glad that nobody had to go home

because I fell in love with Kameron this season.

- Do you have any advice for the final four?

- Get out of your head, girl.

Get out of your head.

- Thank you so much Ginger, for joining me today.

It has been an absolute pleasure.

I love talkin' to you.

- I love talkin' to you too girl.

- You are my sis for life.

- Yas, Queen.

- Yas, Queen.

(laughing)

(animal noises)

and I want to thank all of you so much for joining

us here at The Pit Stop.

Goodbye everybody.

Laura Bush Breaks Her Silence, Suddenly Comes Out Swinging At Trump And Makes Huge Mistake. - Duration: 7:13.

Laura Bush Breaks Her Silence, Suddenly Comes Out Swinging At Trump And Makes Huge Mistake.

Former First Lady Laura Bush spent years saying nothing.

Eight long years of silence through one of the most corrupt administrations the United

States of America has ever had the misfortune to go through.

Then yet another year through an election where Laura was silent rather than speaking

up about the character of the man that would be her husband's predecessor.

Like her husband and her in-laws, Laura sat silently by while Barack Obama followed through

on his promises to fundamentally change America into a country that many Americans no longer

recognized.

When Officer Darren Wilson shot Michael Brown in the line of duty as Brown fled the scene

from a robbery attacking Wilson and riots ensued in Ferguson, Missouri over the false

narrative of "Hands up, don't shoot" Laura was silent.

When the events in Ferguson spawned the Black Lives Matter movement spewing racial hatred

from coast to coast, blocking highways, damaging property and businesses, and attacking police

officers, Laura was silent.

She was silent about the deaths of four brave Americans k****d in Benghazi while the Obama

regime peddled the fiction that a YouTube video caused these acts of violence.

When Bill Clinton was repeatedly accused of sexual assault and even outright r**e against

other women, Laura was silent.

Not only was Laura silent, but she and her husband, the 43rd President of the United

States, George W. Bush, actually embraced him as an adopted son of sorts.

During the highly contentious 2016 presidential election as Hillary's crimes were revealed

in all their glory, rather than speak out against them, Laura chose to vote for Hillary,

effectively endorsing the criminal actions.

Now Laura is choosing to speak.

Now that America has at long last a president willing to follow through on securing American

borders and actively working to fix America's broken immigration policies, Laura has finally

found her voice and is using it condemn these policies.

Policies that many Americans overwhelmingly support.

According to Numbers USA, the chart below reflects how midterm voters across the board

would like to see a significant reduction in illegal aliens flooding America's borders:

Meanwhile, Laura chose to pen an op-ed that appeared today in the Washington Post.

In the article, Laura speaks of President Donald Trump's zero-tolerance policy on

illegal aliens calling it "cruel and immoral".

Her op-ed states in part – "On Sunday, a day we as a nation set aside to honor fathers

and the bonds of family, I was among the millions of Americans who watched images of children

who have been torn from their parents.

In the six weeks between April 19 and May 31, the Department of Homeland Security has

sent nearly 2,000 children to mass detention centers or foster care.

More than 100 of these children are younger than 4 years old.

The reason for these separations is a zero-tolerance policy for their parents, who are accused

of illegally crossing our borders.

I live in a border state.

I appreciate the need to enforce and protect our international boundaries, but this zero-tolerance

policy is cruel.

It is immoral.

And it breaks my heart.

Our government should not be in the business of warehousing children in converted box stores

or making plans to place them in tent cities in the desert outside of El Paso.

These images are eerily reminiscent of the Japanese American internment camps of World

War II, now considered to have been one of the most shameful episodes in U.S. history.

We also know that this treatment inflicts trauma; interned Japanese have been two times

as likely to suffer cardiovascular disease or d*e prematurely than those who were not

interned."

I guess I missed the part where all of the sudden laws about illegal immigration no longer

applied.

Especially considering President Trump is simply obeying a law that has been in place

in 2002 during her husband's own administration in the DHS Security Act of 2002 as Paula Wood

so eloquently reminds her via Twitter.

Was Laura out of the country when her husband's own creation – the Department of Homeland

Security was soundly criticized in a 2005 report by the House Appropriations Committee

for separating illegal alien children from their parents?

From the report – "even as young as nursing infants, are being separated from their parents

and placed in shelters."

And then from MigrationPolicy.org – "Operation Streamline, launched in 2005 by the George

W. Bush administration in Texas' Del Rio border sector, aimed to increase immigration

prosecutions in response to an uptick in non-Mexican border crossers.

DHS increasingly had to release these migrants from detention due to space limitations.

Between 2003 and 2005, criminal prosecutions of first-time unauthorized crossers for illegal

entry more than quadrupled, from 4,000 to 16,500.

By 2010, they had reached 44,000, an 11-fold increase from 2003, while prosecutions for

other immigration charges increased just 9 percent (excluding illegal re-entry, which

tripled in that time).

Previously, CBP had mainly referred for prosecution migrants who had prior criminal convictions

or those suspected of smuggling.

Streamline continued through the Obama administration, and remains in place today.

Criminal immigration prosecutions reached a peak of 97,000 in FY 2013, although first-time

crossers were not prioritized."

In 2015, U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee of the Central District Court in California ruled

that the Flores requirement applies to both unaccompanied minors and children apprehended

with their parents, meaning that all minors must be released from detention if possible.

Gee also ordered DHS to release parents detained along with their children.

An appeals court in 2016 affirmed that Flores applied to all children, but reversed the

ruling that parents should be released as well.

Though myriad factors drive migration, many have suggested that the 2015 Gee decision

contributed to a spike in apprehensions of people traveling in families, which jumped

from 40,000 in FY 2015 to 78,000 in FY 2016—a 95 percent increase.

The surge in family flows meant that there were not enough detention beds available to

hold families even for the 20 days allowed under the court settlement, causing many to

be released.

By referring parents for criminal prosecution—funneling them into the Justice Department's correctional

system, separate from ICE detention—the Trump administration may bypass the limitations

of the family detention system, which currently has the capacity to hold just 2,700 people

at a time."

Light & Easy Marinara ~ Meal Plan Approved ~ Noreen's Kitchen - Duration: 7:22.

Hi, everyone, welcome back to my kitchen today i'm going to share with

You, recipe that my girls and i have come up with for their meal plan this is a super easy

Light and luscious

Stovetop, marinara that's made with few ingredients has no added sugar and it's just full of flavor you're, gonna be amazed at. How

Easy this is and i can't wait to share it with. You let's go see how, this all comes together

All right we're getting ready to make this delicious light and easy

Marinara, style sauce this is really really simple i have a 28 ounce can of crushed tomatoes a

28 ounce can of diced tomatoes a very large onion that equaled

About two cups that i diced one six ounce can of tomato paste

about six cloves of minced garlic a

Tablespoon, of olive oil we're, also, gonna use salt pepper italian, seasoning and dried, basil so i'm gonna

Bring the induction burner and the pan over and we're, gonna get started, making this really delicious sauce okay?

We're, gonna get started making our delicious

Marinara this is a very light sauce it's super easy

to, make

What i've put in here is a little bit of olive oil this is about a tablespoon?

I'm just gonna get that nice and hot and then

I'm gonna put

my onions, and

My, garlic

and we are going to

Mix these up really, well and then we're just gonna let

These, sweat i'd like a little bit of brown on the onion

Okay, so this is going to bring out the sweetness of this already sweet vidalia onion

And that's gonna take, about five minutes so i will. Be back when it's time to proceed

Okay, our onions and our garlic are

Continue to sweat you can, see we've got a little bit of brown on them so we're gonna, add about a teaspoon of italian seasoning

This is entirely up to you you can

Add the seasonings that you prefer if you'd like to add individual seasonings that's great i'm, also gonna add about a teaspoon of dried basil

Some salt and some finely ground black pepper

About a half a teaspoon of black pepper and tomatoes love salt so we're gonna had about a

Teaspoon of kosher salt they're

Gonna, use whatever salt you like and i wanted to add these spices in with the

Caramelizing onions and garlic, so that the oils of those things come out a little more quickly now

We're, going to put

our tomato paste in here

And you're gonna, want to get this in the pan you're. Gonna, want to let. This cook, you want your tomato paste to cook

Okay get it mixed in with those onions and garlic

Because you almost want to brown the tomato paste as, well just don't want to go so far with

It that it actually looks brown. You do want to cook the raw flavor out of it though

yeah, you don't want to burn it now i do have my pan

Set this induction burner right now

Is set at 400 because i wanted to get the pan nice and hot

Which if you're, cooking this on a traditional stovetop i would say medium-high

But don't go high, because then

You're, just gonna have a tendency to burn things so and then all you have to do is add your crushed and your diced tomatoes

Give this a good stir that tomato-paste is gonna make everything really beautiful and thick

Stir this really really, well get all those flavors

Blended together you're, gonna, bring this to a simmer

Once it starts to bubble you're, gonna, want to back it down

To, medium heat and you're, gonna let, this simmer for five minutes then

You can, use this

To, put over zucchini noodles for pasta you can, use this over regular pasta you can

Use this to make eggs diablo or eggs in purgatory

Where you crack

Some eggs into it and bake it in the oven until they're done you can, use this for anything that you would make with

Pasta sauce or tomato sauce of your choice you can, use this on a cauliflower pizza you can

Use this for a lot of different things this is going to be simmering

Some chicken meatballs in just a moment and i'll show. You what that looks, like, when this is done and?

When, we come, back i'll show. You the finished product, oh?

Yeah, smells amazing

Well there you have it there's our slow simmered stovetop marinara this light and luscious recipe, was so easy to put together

We're, using ingredients from your pantry and an onion, and some garlic and you're good to go

We simmered these beautiful chicken meatballs in it we're, gonna be sharing this in an upcoming video so make sure you

Stay tuned for that these meatballs are really really wonderful and they're super easy, to make just with

some ground chicken they're gluten free they contain almond meal and

They're, just really they're actually, addictive. They're, that good you, would never know. That you were eating

Diet food honestly you wouldn't

Even recollect something so

But you got to start with

A great sauce and this sauce is just that it's rich its luscious its simmered on the stove for just a little, while

Cooking those onions to caramelize, them just a little bit and then cooking that tomato paste to also caramelize that

Gives this, super rich intense tomato flavor and you're

Not sacrificing flavor in order to have a low-cal dish if you liked, today's video please consider giving, me a

Thumbs up and if you are, new, to my kitchen welcome always a pleasure to welcome new, friends into the kitchen if you

supposed to be. Well, our lives are very similar to that large

puzzle. God has a masterplan for our lives and as we walk in His

ways, He will slowly put the pieces of the puzzle together,

revealing His masterpiece. On today's episode, we'll hear a

sermon from Mike Wilson as he discusses how we can take steps

to revealing God's masterplan for our lives. We'll also hear

some great testimonies of the good things God is doing in

people's lives. Let's go now and listen to our youth leader, Mike

God sees your end. He sees your future. He knows the best that's

in you. He created you. He may see you now but He sees your

future. He sees your end and He says, "Man, I created that guy.

The best. You are my best piece of work." Say you're the best

piece of work. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You know, every

artist is extremely proud of their masterpiece and it is of

course, their best piece of work and that's how God, the Father

sees us. He sees us as the best piece of work through Christ. So

when you think about it, every piece of artwork is supposed to,

every piece, every artwork, every painting reflects the

image that the artist imagined or envisioned. Right? I'm

painting this painting and I'm envisioning a sunset. Now I'm

gonna paint it and this painting's gonna reflect what

I'm seeing. So when He made us, when He created us, you know,

the best piece of artwork, He envisioned us and He made us who

we are and that is who we have to reflect. We have to reflect

what He sees. So our end result has to reflect what God created

us to be in the first place. We need to get to that place where

we reflect what He's called us to be. That is good. We were

created to do good works. We were created to do good works.

That God has already planned in advance for us to do. Like I

said, we've figured it out. We are to reflect God's glory here

on earth. We are His masterpieces set apart for the

world to see. That the good works that He has ordained for

us, that we would do them, that we are walking them but you say,

"How do we do these good works? How do we know what good works

are?" Good question. Good question. Let's go to

Philippians 2:12-16. "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have

always obeyed-not only in my presence, but now much more in

my absence-continue to work out your salvation with fear and

trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act

in according to his good purpose. Do everything without

complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and

pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved

generation. In which you shine like stars in the universe as

you hold out the word of life." See, we are called to shine like

stars reflecting the glory of God here on earth. To glorify

our Father. By being blameless and pure children of God,

fulfilling His good purpose. His good works that He's already

laid out for us that we must walk in them. And it says,

"Continue." Continue to work out your own salvation. This is your

life. This is your salvation. This is not, my salvation is

different than your salvation. You have to workout your own

salvation, right? You have to work out your own life. You must

take responsibility for it. And in the end, we will all be

accountable for the life that we lived here on earth. You know,

whether we accomplish and did the good works that we were

supposed to do. Whether we walk those things out, you know, we

will be given account and it's kind of a scary thought but it's

also a sobering though, you know? That God already ordained

stuff. I mean, and when we go and we meet Jesus face to face

at the end of our life, you know, did we live up to the

standard? You know, did we live up to the expectation that He

created us for?

♪ [Segment Music] ♪

>>JACK ZIMMERMAN: Shalom,

everyone. This is rabbi Jack Zimmerman, staff evangelist for

Jewish Voice Ministries International. Work out your own

salvation. Indeed, work out your salvation with fear and

trembling. What does that mean? I'm so glad I can be talking to

you and with you about this because I know that at one part

of my life, it meant one thing but now, and for the last 30

years, it's meant another. You know, growing up Jewish, the

idea of working out your salvation is a concept whereby

we as Jews believed that if we did more good works than bad, in

other words, if the scale tipped in a favorable way rather than

in an unfavorable way that essentially, that's how we were

saved or our definition of saved meant that that's how we were

getting into heaven. By working out our salvation by doing

works. But of course when you come to know Jesus as a

believer, everything changes, and you realize that concept of

working for your salvation never really had anything to do with

salvation in the first place. In fact, in Ephesians 2:8-9, Paul

says, "It is by grace that you are saved, not by your works."

Nothing that you can do. It doesn't have anything to do with

scales. And that way, no one can boast about it. And so, if it

doesn't have anything to do with works, if our salvation doesn't

have anything anymore with working towards salvation, then

what do we make of this particular verse that we just

heard about? Working toward your salvation? Well, what it really

means is this. It means faith without works is dead. When you

are a believer and a child of God, you desire to do good

deeds. You desire to work and obey God's commandments. It's

not something that you feel obligated to do. It's something

that you want to do because you love the Lord God, for example,

with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind and

strength just as Jesus told us. So I wanna make that point

clear. Our salvation doesn't come from trying to work at it

and earn it. Our salvation comes because of the grace of Jesus.

But indeed, when we are saved, we desire to make an effort each

and every day to do a better job and a better work at glorifying

Him, loving Him, and making Him the Lord of our lives.

voice. We have to pay attention to His leading. We can't just

sit and relax and watch life go by because He's gonna ask us at

the end of our life, "Did you pay attention, you know. You

could have been like this. You could have done this. You know,

I gave you all the opportunities. I gave you the

spirit of God dwelling inside of you. What did you do with it?"

Right? So He says continue. Ongoing. Continue this thing

out. Continue. Ongoing. It's never ending. It's something we

ought to do all the time. It's not just, "I'm saved." You know,

I'm a Christian. I'm safe now. I got my ticket to paradise. I'm

done. I can live how I want now. No. No, no, no, no, no, no. We

must continue on working this thing out. Clearly, Paul tells

us here, "Continue working out your salvation." It's ours. It's

our everyday life. It's our everyday job. Things that we're

supposed to do in our workplace, in our homes, in our jobs. We're

supposed to work this thing out. We're supposed to grind it out.

It's not like a grind, right? Grinding it out. You know,

sometimes, it's not always easy. Working out takes energy. It

takes action. It's something that is required on our behalf.

You don't become who God's called you to be by not doing

anything. Like I said before, we are to reflect the artist who

made us. We're supposed to reflect God's glory and it

doesn't happen by just doing nothing. We have to work it out.

We have to become more like God, reflecting His image more and

more every day. Every day reflecting it. You know, have

you ever worked out before? Literally. Yes, some people.

Some people. Working out is hard. Let me tell you. You know,

you have to sweat and it's stinky afterwards, right? You

know, sometimes you have to take a shower. If you're doing it

right, you should probably take a shower after you work out. And

that's probably why so many people quit because it's hard.

You know, working out and eating, you know, healthy, it's

supposed to be a lifestyle, not a two-week stint. Right? It's

supposed to be something you do all the time. It takes work. It

takes effort. It takes energy. It takes time. But you don't

become those buff, strong looking, six-pack guys in the

movies and magazines by not doing anything. You know,

Captain America or what's this guy's name, Thor, you don't

become those six-pack guys by not doing anything, by just

imagining, by just thinking about it, right? Who would wanna

look like that anyway? Gross. You know, yeah, right, we're all

jealous, right? You know, it's funny, we have an image in our

mind of what we look like, right? We have this image in our

mind of what we look like, and then we go to the mirror and

we're like, "Woah, where did that come from?" Right?

practice, and discipline to get strong at. Have you ever watched

a sporting event and saw an athlete perform something that

you thought was totally out of reach or impossible to perform?

Well I'm here to tell you it's not. But what it does take is

discipline. 1 Corinthians 9:24-26 says this. "Do you not

know that those who run in a race all run, but only one

receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone

who competes in the games exercises self-control in all

things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but

we an imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way, as not

without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air." Do

to what this verse says requires discipline. Without discipline,

we can hope to achieve nothing physically and most importantly,

spiritually. Just like the apostle Paul says in 1

Corinthians, we need to live a disciplined spiritual life so we

can do well in the race that God has given us to run.

"I need to get some weights. I need to get some weights. I

gonna come get them and he was gonna rip me off and my wife's

like, "Don't do it." And I was like I gotta do it and then

she's like, "Why don't you just order new ones?" So then I was

like okay. Yeah, okay. I'll order new ones. So I got these

system so he kept getting sick or his blood level wasn't good

back. My sister called me and said, "You know, Dad is really,

he's really depressed today. You should come see him." And I so I

drove up to and I'll just, and so, I went to his apartment and

he was sleeping. And I didn't want to wake him up because he

hurt and my sister said, "You should wake him up. You should

talk to him." So I did. And as soon as he woke up, I started

saying, like, you need to start making a decision. Because I've

been talking to him about God since day one, since the

diagnosis and I said, "You need to decide today because, you

know, it could happen that you close your eyes tonight and when

you wake up, you'll be in hell if you don't accept Christ." And

he hummed about it and then he changed topic. We talked about

like, we need to make a decision right now. Do you wanna do it or

do you not wanna do it? And he said, "Well, I suppose so. It'll

be a good thing." So then I panicked because I didn't have a

prayer ready, right? So, as he's saying, yeah, I'm Googling. I'm

Googling like salvation prayer. Because all the words just left

my brain, right, so I found a good one and I'm like, oh, I can

add some Steve Gray to that. That'd be good. Okay. So. So I

kneel down beside him on the couch and he takes my hand and

I'm leading through this thing and he's repeating me and right

up until we'd said, "Jesus, forgive me of my sins. I accept

you as my Lord and savior." He just broke and he put his hand

on my shoulder and he's crying. He's shaking. And he's like, "I

knew this was gonna happen. I knew it." And he said, "I was

afraid and I didn't know if I wanted it but I knew it was

gonna happen." And so, I talked to him some more and I explain

to him, you know, what he was feeling and that he's a new

creation and he has no fear and if he died today, everything

would be okay, and then I would see him again. And then we

talked a bit more and then I left. Then I phoned my sister on

the way home. I said, "You know, just laying on, I'm leaving

dad's." And she goes, "Yeah, I already know. He called me

already and told me what happened." And I said, "Okay,

great." And then he got the infection. So last Thursday,

when I got the infection, brought him in the hospital. His

blood pressure was like 80/30 and he has sepsis and the doctor

was talking us about the risks of going into, to get this

infection out and I'm like, hold on. Like, do we need to get

people on the phone here. Is this this kind of operation? And

he said absolutely. If you can get people here, they need to be

here. So we're calling people and my sisters were coming and

we said our goodbyes and we took a video for my one sister that

couldn't make it and then he pulled through. He pulled

through the operation and they had him in ICU for a week and

now he's in observation and he's slowly getting better because he

doesn't have an immune system so they're rebuilding it to get him

strong enough to start chemo again. The other day, we were in

observation and I was with him and I showed him the prayer

service. Because he's been knowing the whole time that

everybody here's praying for him and he's really appreciative of

it. And I showed him the prayers from last Sunday morning and

he's got the headphones on so I'm just sitting there watching

him and all of a sudden, he closes his eyes and he reaches

out for my hand and he just sat there for like 10 minutes. He

didn't move. And then he opened his eyes and he goes woah. That

was some kind of power, boy. And I said, "What happened?" And he

goes, "Something touched me right here and it went all the

way down and it was hot." And so I got my voice recorder out and

I started recording it and even 20 minutes later, he just kept

going like I can still feel it. Like, I don't know what that was

but I always thought it was that hocus pocus crap that you were

talking about. But that was, I've never felt anything like

that in my life and then he started crying and he said,

"I've taken so many steps away from God. I've never looked for

Him. I've done everything I could to get away from Him." And

I said, "Well, that's the beautiful thing about God is you

just need to take the one step towards Him and He'll take the

rest." And he said, "Well, a lot of things in my life are gonna

change." So he's got a really good peace about where he is and

if things go bad but we're still believing. We're still believing

for a miracle and his focus right now because he needs to

stay positive when you have this kind of situation. His focus is

to be able to come here and testify to thank everybody for

praying for him. So.

Your 'sciatica' might not be sciatica | DailyDocTalk 15 - Duration: 11:01.

hey everybody welcome back to another episode of daily doc talk I am your host

dr. drew timmermans I am currently waiting for traffic to die down so I can

head home so I thought I would make a video for you guys so I know I've talked

about this before on Instagram social media and any conversations with people

when they're you know talking about any radiating pain that goes down the back

of their leg whether that's sciatica or not and so if

you've been following me you know that I am a proponent on the fact that not

every time someone has pain that goes down the back of the leg is it sciatica

and so I think I said that poorly so let me rephrase I don't believe that every

time that someone has pain radiating down the back of their leg that it is

caused by anything to do with the sciatic nerve I'm not saying that

sciatica doesn't exist because it does and there you know you can have sciatica

from piriformis syndrome it can also be pinched by obturator

muscle and that can you know compress on the sciatic nerve and and recreate those

symptoms you can also have sciatica which is more of a ridiculous actually

coming from the low back from one of the nerve roots that actually supplies in to

sciatic nerve if you're not aware of static nerve it's basically just a big

collection of nerve roots and so those nerve roots as they come off the spine

they can get compressed in the intervertebral foramen that they're

coming out of and you can have symptoms coming from that way and so those are

real things but a lot of patients walk to the door and they say oh I have

sciatica and some doctors just take those patients at blind faith and then

continue to treat as if it were sciatica when you know that may or may not be the

case and so there's a few different things that we've seen clinically and

supported in the literature that can cause pain that radiates down the back

of the side of the leg some of these things are

peripheral cutaneous nerve entrapment of any of the nerves in that area

the main one I tend to think of is the posterior femoral posterior femoral

cutaneous nerve I clearly can't talk today that's the main one your

sacroiliac joint the ligaments surrounding that can cause a referred

pain down the back of the leg and can mimic sciatica you can also have facet

joints in the lower back in the lumbar region that radiate pain down the back

of the side of the leg similar to the sciatic nerve and so you

know those are all the things that kind of go through my head when I'm assessing

a patient and determining for myself if they've come to me with that diagnosis

if they actually do have a true sciatica because the treatments if you know if

it's sciatica that's that treatment is very different than if it's a peripheral

cutaneous nerve entrapment of the posterior femoral cutaneous nerve did

better on that one or if it's the facet joint or if it's the SI joint and so the

real power in physical medicine and again whether that's physical therapy

massage therapy you know in any other regenerative injection therapies the

real power in treating a patient's pain at the tissue level and again I don't

want people hopping on here and you know saying I'm not cognizant of the

biopsychosocial model because I am I'm just not talking about that in this

moment right now I just want to focus on how we get we can create tissue changes

and help to regenerate certain areas or eliminate pain signals that may be

coming from the tissue and so you know I kinda digressed on that but the point

is I want to you know that the treatments are different and so the

power in those different types of therapies lies in addressing what is the

actual cause or the root of that pain put differently what is the pain

generator when we treat the pain generator pain starts to improve if we

don't treat the pain generator and we just apply a treatment to a different

area that we thought was the pain then it's possible that that does not

improve and so I just wanted to spend a few minutes here I'm gonna take this

camera I'm gonna zoom it out a book and I want to show you where these posterior

femoral cutaneous nerves are so that way that can maybe help to start to frame

create that framework in your mind of maybe it's not always sciatica

[super cool music]

we got everything in focus here so this here is my one of my absolute favorite

Anatomy atlases this is atlas of anatomy third edition this is the Thieme edition

if you want I'll have a link in my bio for you or not my bio under this YouTube

video for you guys to see so I apologize for this focus but so here we have the

back of the leg we have these superior cluneal nerves and middle cluneal

nerves that are kind of coming inferior clunleal nerves they're going to

innervate some of the aspect of the glutes and also the superior aspect of the

hamstrings and inferior aspect of the glutes but what I want to focus on here is the

posterior cutaneous nerve of the thigh right here and so you can see that nerve

or the branches of that nerve piercing out through the back side of the thigh

in the hamstring coming through the fascia that's encasing the hamstring

muscles so when those nerves are pinched by the fascial on the posterior aspect

of the hamstring they can create pain signals that can be worse with certain

positions and so when you think about the way the fascia is going to tighten

in certain positions particularly if you're gonna go into any hip flexion you

know that's going to create tension along the posterior aspect of the lower

back the glutes and the hamstrings you know think of going down for a hamstring

stretch and so that tightens the fascia in that area and so if those

nerves that are piercing through the fascia are already inflamed because of

tight fascia or the muscle the tight muscle as it pierces through and it's

clamping down on that nerve which is then causing a buildup of nerve growth

factor which is then causing expression of TRPV1 the ion channel and then

you're getting a dumping out of substance P and CGRP two peptides that

are going to be involved in the perception of pain but also CGRP is

partly involved in degeneration of tissue in the area as well as

calcification so you can think of things like calcific tendonitis and so if that

nerve is already inflamed because it's pinched and

then you go into certain positions that tighten that fascia more that could

worsen your pain and so that could present as when someone goes to bend

forward they have pain that shoots down the back of the leg because of those

pinched nerves that could mimic sciatica and so for clinicians and therapists as

well it's important to note that you know when you're doing any of the

orthopedic tests like straight leg raise for example you know you're bringing

that that hip into flexion and you're you know passively tightening up and

creating tension in the the posterior aspect of the hamstrings and again you

could worsen that peripheral cutaneous nerve entrapment and so if it's between

that 30 to 60 degree window that we typically look at for a positive

orthopedic test for a bulging disc which could be contributing to sciatica you

know then that can can you know confuse you on what the diagnosis might be

coming from er sorry where the pain generator may be coming from so the

moral of kind of this video was just that just because if 1)

just because the patient comes in to you saying they have sciatica or if you

believe that you have sciatica as a patient I question you to challenge that

diagnosis I'm not saying it's wrong I'm just saying make sure that you are solid

on that and that you have the supportive evidence behind it to support that but

and 2) just the various different ways that we can have pain that radiates down

the back of our leg and why it's important to have a really solid

understanding of the anatomy in that area in order to understand where the

pain is coming from or to be able to know where how to assess where the pain

is coming from so that way you can treat it and so I guess our last part is

treatment and so our typical treatment for this is going to be some form of

myofascial work to help loosen the structures in the area sometimes that's

not and nothing doesn't provide any long-term relief and so some of you may

know this if you're having these symptoms and they get better with a

massage and then it comes back after a few days that could just be indicating

that the massage is helping with the muscle tone and the fascial

tone in that area but it's not getting to the root cause of why it's there in

the first place and so you have to dig deeper or look at a different therapy

and so in those cases we tend to incorporate the perineural injection

therapy which is an injection of 5% so a low concentration dextrose and we inject

it underneath the skin and the subcutaneous tissue but above that

fascial layer where the nerves pierce out and so when we put the perineural

solution in that potential fascial plane we're one bathing the nerves in the 5%

dextrose which calms down the inflammation around them decreases those

peptides I talked about earlier substance P and CGRP but also there's

the mechanical separation of the tissue which is then going to help with the

taking kind of the mechanical stress off of that nerve so that it's not sending

out pain signals through the TRPV1 ion channel so I hope you guys enjoyed this

video I know that a little technical in some parts so if you have any questions

hit me up in the comment section below and I will answer them and if you could

DSX 5000 CableAnalyzer NEXT fails on a short link: By Fluke Networks - Duration: 3:54.

In this example, we got a very short link,

2.7 meters, about 8 feet. And, of course,

the problem is it's failing crosstalk.

That's not uncommon.

If you're using, how can I say,

mediocre components.

Let's see why this failed.

Going to tap Near End Crosstalk (NEXT).

And it's going to show me all 6 pair combinations

from the remote, because that's where

the worst-performing crosstalk appeared.

And if I tap the pair on the right here,

it's automatically going to go to

the worst-performing pair combination

that gave us that -2.2 dB.

And pair this time is not 3,6-4,5,

it's actually 3,6-7,8.

That's all the information I can get

from this screen that's particularly useful to me.

Now what I want to do is go

back to the home screen,

and to my diagnostic tag,

and look at the HDTDX,

that's the High Definition Time Domain

Crosstalk Analyzer.

This has now allowed me

to look down the cable and see

whether crosstalk is happening.

and I only want to do it for that 3,6-7,8,

the worst-performing pair.

So I'm going to tap

until I see 3,6-7,8 in the top

left-hand corner there.

So, I'm seeing two spikes here.

The first spike is my first connection

at 0 feet, 0 meters.

My second spike is my connection at

the other end of this very short link

2.7 meters, around about 8 feet.

The cursor's automatically gone

to the largest source of crosstalk,

and it's given me a value of 44.2%.

Ideally, we want to see 30.

30 to 35 is ho-hum.

35 to 40 you're gonna start seeing

your margins come down.

And anything after 40 you're likely

seeing failing test results.

So, at 44.2, that is not good enough.

And here's the thing, on short links,

because the two connectors

are in very close proximity,

ho-hum connectors are not going to

work for you. You're going to need

really good connectors, because

the effect of this connector on this connector,

they're really close together,

is going to add up.

And that's why people have trouble

with short links: mediocre terminations

and mediocre connections.

So, I can definitely say my connection

at the far end there is clearly not

adequate. It's way more than the ideal

30% I want to see.

Now, notice I said connection.

I didn't say termination,

because,

this connector here may not be a very good

category 6 connector, and actually talking

to the customer on this occasion,

I didn't even recognize the brand, and I

know most of the brands out there.

So, that made me a little nervous.

So, my advice to him on this one is,

and he swore up and down his terminations

were perfect, is to go and find and I gave him

a couple good names of manufacturers I'm

not obviously going to say on the video here

because I don't want to get into too much trouble.

And when he tried testing

with those other connectors,

the link started passing with flying colors,

but, you know, that could have been

a termination issue there as well.

When I look at my connection at the near end here,

I see a value of 35%. Again, you know,

if the link was longer you could probably

get away with 35%, but when the

link gets short and shorter

you really do need to hit that 30%

on the HDTDX in order to get that

pass on that near end crosstalk.

Now, again, it is really important

to emphasize this 30% is not a

pass/fail criteria. That pass/fail criteria

is when you're looking at the frequency plots.

This is purely a diagnostic tool.

So,

cause of failure,

this was actually, in this occasion,

it was a poor choice of connectors.
