So this is the first point that I would like to raise, being an open source platform WordPress

is an easy target for the potential hackers.

The question never stands on why would someone hack my low profile website; the question

is when?

And that is why additional security measurements should be taken with utmost care in case of

building a WordPress website.

Like during registration of users, while the users will register for your website, there

should always be registered as the 'subscriber'.

In this CMS you will find that you can assign the role of a particular user; if we come

back here you can see that this is the administrator role, so from here you can change this thing

to anything.

Here is the subscriber, contributor, author, editor, administrator - all of these things

are ready to go over here.

So you can set the role of a particular user.

During comments you need to take the utmost care; you need to assign a particular security

measurements; another important issue is conceal the word press engine you are using.

So in gist or in short, what will be the possible sample of precaution?

First of all I would be suggesting here that is - conceal the WordPress websites engine;

this is the first thing.

But in this context I would like to add that a security log is very helpful in providing

the information of your site about the interaction, nature, and changes made over there.

This is not a security measurement; but web developers will find it useful in case of

things go wrong in treating the source of the problem.

The next thing is: Protect your login and site registration page.

Now when a user registers for your site or logs in, just force them to do so from appropriate

and authenticated source.

It is always advisable not to use WordPress's own user registration account.

This might reduce your subscribers but this will enhance the quality visitation from authenticated

accounts.

The next thing that I will be recommending here is to use very strong password and unusual

username.

If you set it to admin and if you set your password to 1234567 or this kind of stuff,

this will be very easy guess and with a bunch of hit and trial method, they will be able

to penetrate into your website, into your admin panel and guess what, imagine what they

can do to that.

So that is why it will be always advisable to use strong password and unusual username.

Then comes this limit login attempt.

This is a very good measurement in an order to prevent the brute force attack.

That means the user will be given the first chance, the second chance to log in, the third

chance; but after this third chance there won't be any more chances and there is no

more possibility to break into your user panel.

Upgrades.

It will be a very important factor to keep up a good health of your site but on the other

hand it could be a nuisance.

This can bring small problem to your site; there could be a problem in backing up and

restoring it, in this case you may have to restore the previous old state which is not

acceptable.

In the last case, the main disadvantage is the speed of the site.

In many cases found, WordPress websites contain certain unnecessary generic source code which

can decrease the speed of the site and cause you slow loading time.

we would want to discard of the unnecessary part of the website and work on it.

So these are some sort and advantages and disadvantages for WordPress websites; and
