When Your App Becomes Part of the Operating System - Duration: 2:52.

Hey, this is the Daily Overpass, my name is Eric and I make apps!

Now today, let's talk about when your app becomes part of the operating system.

Ok so today it's gonna be a very quick video.

So yesterday there was a comment posted by JEK RUN which had a video of iOS 12's new

features, asking if I'd seen it, and I hadn't.

And to be honest with you, even this whole week I didn't really watch much of wwdc.

I'm still a bit fed up with apple at the moment - and I know it's part of my professional

thing, I should know what's around the corner - but I just kinda watched the highlights.

But this one wasn't on it.

It was a hearing-aid feature of iOS 12, so if you have the airpods on, you can just turn

on the hearing aid and you can spy on people, which looks very much like Ear Spy, Ear Agent,

which is funny really.

Of all the different...I've heard so many ideas over the past few years that I think

"actually that's pretty good, I'd be surprised if that's not part of the operating system

soon", and I never thought mine would be part of the operating system.

So it's just all these things conspiring against, you know, removing the app, putting it back

on, GDPR, having ads removed, having ads put back on, it's gonna be part of the platform,

so that's on the iOS side.

So I guess it really just shows that you have to constantly be innovating and keeping ahead

of the curve.

I've always thought if you do something that's really super successful, they'll incorporate

it into the operating system, and you have to have something really special to keep them

outside.

That's why I think Waze is such a cool app, I don't know if you've used it, where it's

able to take something that's part of the platform, maps and navigation and add more

to it through social, and they're one of the few examples I can think of that actually

survive past being incorporated into the operating systems.

So anyway, I don't know what to think of it yet, I'll just take all the punches in the

previous weeks and just add that to it.

But it's actually kind of funny.

See, everybody who doubted me, it was a good idea!

Anyway, my question to you is - have you ever had anything that was incorporated into the

operating system through feature releases?

Because that's always a danger for anybody.

S. Korea's economy on a gradual rise despite slowing consumer spending: KDI - Duration: 0:44.

The nation's economy is gradually improving... despite the slow down in consumer spending.

According to the Korea Development Institute, strong exports are driving the trend, off-setting

sluggish consumption and investment.

The latest estimate released today... shows... sales in lodging and food service sectors

in April declined 1-point-8 percent on-year.

In contrast, semiconductor, petroleum and petrochemical exports all posted strong growth

in May.

Compared to the same period last year, exports of semiconductors soared 44-point-5 percent,

petroleum by 37-point-6 percent and petrochemical by 26-point-8 percent.

The economic think-tank added the world economy is also on the rise despite the ongoing US-China

trade dispute.

How To Make Triangles Using CSS - Duration: 1:48.

This time we'll make some triangles and here's how we will make them imagine this as

our element with no height and width. Then we set its border bottom which make it look

like nothing. And then if we add left or right border any of them we get two

triangles now it's our choice to keep one and remove the other by setting the

border-color to transparent. How did it work?

Well.. that's topic for another video if it's live we'll add it up here. Next

let's create some triangles we will create an isosceles triangle at first

which looks like this. If you want to try it on your own then pause the video go

You can also use the div but you'll have to force to display as inline or

inline-block to make it work or do some other tweaks. Moving to CSS first we'll create

border-bottom of 100 pixels then we'll add a transparent right bottle of 50

pixels and then we get a right angle triangle.

Then we'll add left transparent border

of 50 pixels and here we have a isosceles triangle. If you want triangle

to be upside down you can switch from border-bottom to border-top and you can

also create all other type of triangles by mismatching these borders or if

North Korea, U.S. fine-tune details for June 12 Singapore summit - Duration: 2:09.

Staying with summit preparations.

Over at the inter-Korean border, key officials from North Korea and the U.S. continued prep

talks.

Unfortunately they have yet to reach an agreement on the process and speed of denuclearization.

Kim Hyo-sun fills us in on the latest.

With less than a week to go until the historic summit between the leaders of North Korea

and the United States,... the two countries held another round of preparation talks on

Wednesday.

The working-level officials of the two countries met again at the inter-Korean border village

of Panmunjom to discuss the agenda for the June 12th summit.

The American delegation led by U.S. ambassador to the Philippines, Sung Kim, sat down with

Choe Son-hui, North Korea's Vice Foreign Minister, for about five hours to fine-tune the details,...

including the speed of Pyongyang's denuclearization.

"The two parties still need to agree on the speed and extent of denuclearization.

They've probably held six rounds of talks because they're both trying to avoid making

any major concessions."

As Washington hinted about a lengthy disarmament process instead of an immediate one,... with

President Trump saying earlier there will be no signing on June 12th, but the two leaders

will start a process,... there's also the possibility of holding additional summits

going forward.

While the U.S. aims to transport North's nuclear weapons abroad as early as possible,... it

may not offer a complete guarantee of the regime's safety at this time,... as requested

by Pyongyang.

Meanwhile, Kim Chang-son, the de-facto chief of staff to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un,

arrived in Beijing on Wednesday following his meetings with the U.S. delegation in Singapore

to discuss logistics ahead of the summit.

Sources in Beijing say Kim Chang-son will soon make his way to Pyongyang to report the

outcome of the meetings to Kim Jong-un.

Seeing that Kim Chang-son left Singapore following series of talks with White House Deputy Chief

of Staff Joe Hagin,... sources also say general preparations for the summit may have come

to an end.

North Korea believed to have destroyed only known land-based missile test stand: 38 North - Duration: 1:53.

Over in the hermit kingdom.

North Korea appears to have destroyed a facility that plays an integral role in developing

mid-range ballistic missiles.

Park Jiwon takes a closer look into the move that's in line with Kim Jong-un's promise

of suspending missile testing.

In its satellite imagery analysis report,...

U.S.-based North Korea monitoring website 38 North says,... North Korea appears to have

destroyed its missile test stand at the Iha-ri test facility near the northwestern city of

Kusong , Pyonganbuk-do Province.

The commercial satellite imagery shows that the demolition started in the second week

of May,… following North Korea's declaration in mid-April that it will suspend ballistic

missile and nuclear tests.

The paper also said the demolition was almost complete a week later.

The stand at the Iha-ri test site was the regime's only known facility for land-based,…

canister-launched ballistic missile ejection tests... deemed critical for developing a

medium-range solid-fuel ballistic missile.

Solid-fuel missiles can be fired at shorter notice and more discreetly than those powered

by liquid fuel.

South Korea's defense ministry, meanwhile, hasn't confirmed the site's demolition.

"The ministry, together with the U.S., is closely watching the moves,... although it

is not appropriate for the defense ministry to make specific remarks on foreign media

observations of commercial satellite images."

38 North says it is unclear... whether the stand's destruction signifies the total suspension

of the North's missile program at the Iha-ri test site,... or simply a small gesture that

aims to show Pyongyang's sincerity towards gradual denuclearization.
