S. Korean PM arrives in Russia to attend the Eastern Economic Forum - Duration: 0:36.

Seoul's Prime Minister begins his three-day trip to Vladivostok today.

During the Eastern Economic Forum Lee Nak-yeon is scheduled to give a speech on President

Moon Jae-in's 'New Northern Policy' and the 'Nine Bridges' policy,... both designed to

help boost bilateral economic cooperation.

Also on Tuesday when the event begins, he will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo

Abe on the sidelines.

More young Koreans searching for 'small, but certain happiness' in their lives - Duration: 2:46.

YOLO or "you only live once" is so 2017.

That's what many hip and happening youths in the nation would say.

The latest fad is more about being content with the small things in life and pursuing

your interests.

Won Jung-hwan gets us better acquainted with this up-and-coming lifestyle trend.

Have you ever heard of "sohwakhaeng"?

The Korean phrase, which translates to "small, but certain happiness,"… refers not to the

intensity of the happiness you experience, but rather the certainty of a small amount

of it.

While this new lifestyle choice seems to be one of the leading trends in South Korea,...

it differs from last year's buzzword, "YOLO" or "You Only Live Once."

Unlike YOLO, that encourages people to live life regardless of what others may think,

such as posting photos of experiences during trips,… "small but certain happiness" would

place more value on who you travel with or how you plan the trip.

For example, this 36 year old man, who regularly attends a meeting that plans travel, says

sharing his opinion and tips with others fits the recent trend of seeking happiness.

"While sohwakhaeng is similar to YOLO in terms of seeking a certain amount of happiness,

it differs from YOLO as it provides more long-term contentment.

I'm attending this group as I want to find lasting happiness."

These small meeting platforms are emerging in Korea, especially among people in their

20s and 30s.

This 30 year old woman living in Seoul is into liquor tasting,… and says she's happiest

joining a small group after work to learn about different liquors.

"It's a small thing, but I feel happy to learn about liquors that go well with delicious

food.

I enjoy learning at this meeting because it's not something I attend to make money or anything,...

but rather to increase happiness in my life."

On the flip side, some experts say this renewed focus on small things comes from the fatigue

young Koreans feel trying to chase big salaries and success.

"There are lot of things employees should give up in their life,... that is why, there

has been a lot of interest regarding happiness that can be attained without investing a lot

of money or time,… and that growing interest especially among young employees is shown

by these after-work group meetings."

With the new 52-hour workweek system implemented this year, the desire to seek a better quality

of life will grow stronger in Korean society.

Although it will take some time to be fully embraced,... Koreans will eventually adapt

and move past excessive competition or comparison with others, and seek their own happiness.

S. Korean intelligence chief Suh Hoon briefs Japan PM on N. Korea visit - Duration: 1:38.

The head of Seoul's top intel agency is in Tokyo.

Suh Hoon met and briefed the nation's Prime Minister on his recent visit to Pyeongyang.

The duo agreed, improving Japan's ties with North Korea is important in denuclearizing

the Peninsula.

Kan Hyeong-woo has the highlights from that session.

On Monday morning, South Korea's national intelligence agency chief, Suh Hoon, briefed

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on his latest visit to Pyeongyang.

They both agreed that alongside the North's improving ties with South Korea and the United

States, its relationship with Japan needs mending too.

Prime Minister Abe even said it's time for him to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Suh Hoon also delivered a message from President Moon,... saying that the Japanese leader's

role in denuclearizing the North and in establishing peace is more important than ever,... so communication

and cooperation between South Korea and Japan needs to be strengthened.

He added that the South Korean government also believes ties should be improved between

North Korea and Japan,... and that Seoul is willing to take action to that end.

Suh also stressed the need to come up with creative ways to carry out the North Korean

leader's commitment to complete denuclearization.

Abe expressed his gratitude for the quick briefing,... adding that it's a good chance

to let the world know how much Seoul and Tokyo relations have improved since President Moon

took office.

The South Korean intelligence chief's trip to Tokyo is viewed as a part of Seoul's efforts

to have the regional power's support... before the inter-Korean summit next week.
