The Trump administration sent a very interesting warning to the International Criminal Court

at the Haig, Netherlands on Monday of this week.

That message is stop investigating potential war crimes committed by U.S. soldiers and

officials and contractors that happened during the war in Afghanistan.

Now, this message is actually one that was articulated by none other than John Bolton

himself, one of the architects of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

One of the men who was perfectly fine with the Bush administration's policies of torture

and that is exactly what the International Criminal Court announced recently that they

wanted to investigate.

Specifically, they wanted to investigate the allegations that U.S. soldiers and government

officials, military officials, contractors tortured detainees in Afghanistan and Iraq

starting 2003 going through 2014.

They wanted to find out who was doing the torturing, what the extent of it was, and

then bring prosecutions and jail these people if they found evidence that it did indeed

happen and the U.S. government sanctioned it.

Those are war crimes, by the way, and that is what the International Criminal Court wanted

to investigate, something they should investigate, something that the United States should be

help accountable for.

Here we have John Bolton, one of the men who helped all this happen, telling them that

they'd better stop this investigation before it even begins.

Furthermore, the United States also sent a message to countries all around the globe

saying, "You better not hand over any U.S. citizens that the International Criminal Court

asks for."

Sounds to me like we've got something to hide, right?

Because what the administration is doing to the International Criminal Court with regards

to our war crime investigation sounds a lot like what the Trump himself really is doing

with the Robert Mueller investigation.

Don't you dare investigate this.

Don't go look over here.

Don't call these people to witness.

You're fake.

No, you have something to hide, and that is exactly what the United States is trying to

do with the International Criminal Court.

That's why they're trying to stop this investigation.

We know what happened.

We saw the pictures.

We know who was responsible for it, and nobody was ever held accountable, especially those

at the top echelons of the United States government, the people who orchestrated this.

Instead, all of them somehow got elevated.

We had John Brennan as the CIA director under Obama and suddenly liberals were upset when

he got his security clearance revoked.

As I said at the time, I disagreed with Trump's reasoning for it.

I do believe it was 100% political, but I have no problem with John Brennan not having

a security clearance because the man should be in jail.

Janna Haskell, who is now the current CIA director, was one of the architects of the

CIA's black site program where they took detainees to undisclosed locations to torture them.

She's now running the CIA.

John Bolton, back in the White House calling the shots.

These people should be held accountable, and that is exactly what the International Criminal

Court was hoping to do.

But by sending this message saying that you'd better not investigate us, that is about as

close to an admission of guilt as you can expect from this administration.

Unraveling Mummified Cats From Ancient Egypt - Duration: 0:56.

This is a mummified cat from Egypt.

Cats were regarded as sacred animals in Ancient Egypt.

Representatives of Bast, the Egyptian God of warfare,

they were believed to protect the souls of the dead.

Protectors in life as well as death,

they also helped control pests like vermin and cobras.

This specimen was wrapped in several layers of fabric, before being soaked in resin and interred.

The cat was so important in Egyptian culture, that harming them became a grave taboo.

Believe it or not, Egyptians' devotion to cats was so serious, that an enemy army was

able to keep Egyptian soldiers from firing on them by holding cats up as living shields.

16 And Pregnant - Student To Teen Mom - Duration: 3:24.

When I was 16 years old

That is when I had my first boyfriend. His name was Aidan.

So I met Aidan in school and we were assigned to be a chemistry lab

partners and we just hit it off. And I thought he was a pretty great guy

based on everything we talked about. And we hung around a lot but sometimes I felt

like a relationship was moving a little too fast for me.

I came from a very strict Catholic family so we aren't

allowed to do anything intimate or serious until after marriage which Aidan didn't agree with.

Aidan always pressured me to do things I didn't want to.

One time we were just sitting around watching TV on my bed while my parents

were at work. And I asked him "hey do you

want something to eat or drink or maybe we could watch another movie

because this ones kind of boring." Aiden kind of took the remote and he turned the TV off,

and he started telling me things things. Things that I didn't want to hear and I just

asked him " please stop I'm not ready to do this Aidan kind of mad and he said he

would leave me if I didn't do what he wanted me to do, so I was faced with a

choice that I would regret for the rest of my life.

I ended up doing something that I regret with him.

Fast forward over a month a month and a half later maybe, I started feeling different.

I was craving more different foods that I usually wouldn't eat and then I always

needed pee and sometimes I feel kind of nauseous and I remember that when I

started getting nauseous and more nauseous tests are throwing up every day

I told my best friend Lily and she looked in here and she said has he done

anything lately and I asked what do you mean and then I remembered that night I was like "Yes"

"Yes I did it" and we went to the pharmacy and we caught a pregnancy test and

I took the test it came positive. And I remember when I came positive, Lily just held me there as I cried.

I went through a lot after that day. I was kicked out of my house because I was pregnant.

But I learned quite a lesson that you should never be taken advantage of

You should never be pressured in doing anything you don't want to.

Today, I have my daughter she is three years old and I don't regret having her

but I do regret having her at the time I did. it was much more difficult for me.

And right now I am working to get back to school.

and always remember don't do things unless you want to...

¿A qué obra de arte te pareces? / What artwork do you look like?- Google Arts & Culture - Review - Duration: 7:54.

Hi! How are you?

Today I'm going to give you a super recommendation!

I recently discovered the

Google Arts & Culture app

I discovered it because in Instagram

I follow a girl

that posted a video in which she took a selfie

and the application told her to what artwork she looked like

I saw it and I love the idea!

So I decided to try it!

And aI really like the app

and that's why I'm going to recommend it to you

Now I'm going to show you

what else you can do in the application

By the way follow @thegirlinthegallery

She post very cool stuff

And also she is very passionate about museums

She is an Italian girl and post photos

about the museums she visits

in Europe.

So let's see what does this application

has to offer us.

I'm going to enter the application

Here beside me Im going to put the image of my phone

so you can see what Im doing

this application

it's very cool

because it's like if you had a lot of art in your hands.

The art selfie

is at the begining, so let's see

You have to take a selfie

It's going to show you the results.

It say that I look like Henry Colhurst

Oh my god! I think I don't look very feminine

It say that its in the National Gallery of Art.

If you clic on it you can see

more information about the artwork

it shows you more details and in which museum or gallery is

Lets see to who else I look like!

It say that I look like Máh-to-tóh-pa

I really don't know how to pronounce it

and its from the American Art Museum

Well I think that to Google I look kind of masculine

No! it says that I look like to the Mexican children series

and I agree because Im a mexican girl!

Its so pretty!

It was painted by Gustavo Montoya and its at the University of the Americas in Puebla

So I have to go and see it!

And I look like another girl that is

Making friends with alligator

And its in.. look! she has an alligator!

I like it!

I even like this other, but I really dont look like her

Anyway! you can take as many selfies as you wich

and discover to what artwork do you look like.

So if you have used this app

please tell me if you like it

I dont know if here in youtube you can add pictures

If that is possible It would be great if you share a picture with me

and tell us to who you look like

and if you cant add pictures here, you can write the name of the artwork to who you look like

I will be very glad to read you

Something I really like

is that if you click here in "near"

shows you the museums that are near you

It shows me that I am close to the General File of the Nation,

to the MUMEDI and here you can see all the information about the museums

Here in "explore"

I found it very cool

because it shows you the places

where some paintings were painted

For example it tells me that I am near "Chapultepec"

And here is a painting that was painted there or rather that represents Chapultepec

Here you can find more information

like where it is

so this is very cool

here was another painting

that I like very much

its about the "Popocatépetl"

Im not near the volcano

But it shows me this painting and I love it!

because the "Dr. Atl" is one of my favourites painters.

Here you can find more information and also shows you more paintings of the same artist.

Really this is very cool

So you can..

download it, and discover which paintings were painted in the place you are

I mean you can discover if the place in wich you are

was embodied in a work of art.

And here you can find

interesting facts about some paintings,

about different museums around the world,

about performing acts, here for example you can learn about flamenco,

Here its in english but..

now Its in Spanish

and here its all the information about flamenco

you can see videos,

Its very cool and

it has featured stories

about famous personalities

And look here you can learn about the k pop style

So, it has a lot of more things

It seems to me like an open book

well in this case is a very cultural app

Look here is a virtual explorer

and you can go to the Queen Victoria´s room

in 360, so lets see

Its in youtube

It looks amazing!

Its amazing and you have to explore it

so you can discover much more things

it's like if you had art in your hands

Its very funny to discover to who artwork you look like

and its a very good way

to know new artist

and know more museums, because here tells you in which museums or galleries are the artworks

Its time to say goodbye

give me a like!

share the video, and suscribe because

we are keep discovering the world through museums!

Well in this case is through the apps

that help us to

have art in our hands

So see you soon! bye!

DNA Methylation Chances Are You Have A DNA Defect - Duration: 7:31.

Hi, it's Dr. Minkoff.

If you've been listening to the news

or reading natural medicine journals

you've probably heard about this thing called "methylation".

This came about because,

probably starting 10 or 15 years ago,

we were able to track genes cheaply.

So, you could get a 23 and Me done,

you could find out what your genetics were.

and you could find out if you had small inherited defects

in this process called "methylation."

Now, methylation,

"methyl" in chemistry is a carbon that's got 3 hydrogens on it.

And carbons have 4 places where they can bond to,

and so there's a fourth one that's empty.

Now the body has a lot of processes

where it needs these things to do something.

And it goes all the way from detoxing,

stress reactions, neurotransmitters, hormones,

energy production, DNA repair, immunity.

And these methyl groups are used.

So, just to give you an example,

let's suppose that this is your DNA,

and the DNA has a gene that's supposed to be producing something

like a neurotransmitter.

And if the body has enough of it for the moment

it will take this methyl group,

stick it on there,

and it stops this thing from being active.

So it's like a switch.

It gets put on something.

Let's say you have something that you ate

and it's something that is a toxic molecule,

and the body wants to get rid of it,

it can stick a methyl on here,

and that tags it so then when it goes through the liver

or the kidney, it gets routed out.

So these methyl groups are really important.

And some people, genetically, don't make enough,

and interestingly enough,

some people make too much.

Or, they take therapies to increase their methylation,

and they get symptoms from it.

Now, my experience with the genetics on this,

are that when I did my own genetics,

I found that I had a bunch of these defects in my body.

but they weren't being expressed in terms of

a function problem, or a biochemistry problem.

So because you have the gene, or the gene variant,

doesn't mean that you're necessarily sick

or you're going to be symptomatic.

It's estimated that somewhere between 25% and 30% of all people,

have a methylation defect.

Does that mean that they're going to be sick?

Not necessarily.

Depending on their nutrition

and their environmental circumstances,

they may be fine.

Now there's been tons of attention to people who under-methylate.

And I see in our clinic all the time

people who need to be on extra methyl groups,

because they can't make them.

The defect is that they can't make enough of them.

So we can actually give them supplements,

these are usually B vitamins,

that are already methylated,

they're already in a form that the body can use,

so we can just bypass the deficit.

Sometimes people are over-methylated,

or if they get too many of these methyl groups,

that we give them, they get symptoms

where they're anxious,

they seem like they have ADD,

they can't stop moving,

they're hyper.

And it's because they're over-methylated.

And over-methylation can cause levels

of stress hormones to go too high.

Like epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine.

These things can be jacked way up.

So, if you were thinking that you have it,

you did the 23 and Me,

and you found out what your genetics are,

and you thought, just in case,

I should take some extra methyl B12,

methylfolate, trimethylglycines,

you see all these have "methyls" in them,

so that I will be better, because I have this gene deficit,

and you end up with

anxiety, hyperness, can't sleep, driven,

you may be getting too much.

So, we want these in balance.

And I think one of the important things for people is

that if they get their genes done,

then they get with someone who understands both the clinical side of it

and the biochemistry side of it,

so that they could get adjusted correctly.

Because you have the gene,

doesn't necessarily mean that there's something wrong with you.

So, I think this is helpful to know.

And if you're seeing a practitioner

I would ask him about this.

We do some nice biochemical tests on people

to see, "Are they under-methylated?"

One of the things that is the most common

for people who are under-methylated,

is they have this amino acid in their blood

in too high a level, called "homocysteine."

And this is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

Homocysteine, when it's too high

irritates the inside of arteries

and leads to premature coronary artery

or peripheral artery disease.

So in someone who has high homocysteine,

and this should always be checked on a first visit on everyone,

If their level is high, they need to have more methyls,

and we give them more methyls,

we check it in couple of months,

the homocysteine comes into a normal level,

and they need to stay on that for their whole time.

Now, sometimes homocysteine is changed just by diet alone.

I had a patient who went on a bulletproof diet.

They had high homocysteine, the level was 14-16,

it should be around 8,

and they went on a bulletproof diet with an intermittent fast.

So they ate dinner at 6 o'clock at night

and they didn't eat anything else until noon the next day.

18 hour intermittent fast.

And then the food that they ate was mostly vegetables and proteins,

with some extra fat, during that period.

And in a 6 week period,

their homocysteine went from 14 down to 8,

just with diet alone.

So, lifestyle and diet can affect these things

We usually try first to do that.

If it doesn't come around, you may need supplements.

So, I hope this has alerted you to this idea of methylation.

It can be under or over.

You may have biochemical abnormalities

if the methylation isn't working right.

Or you may have symptomatic abnormalities,

where your mood is wrong,

or your sleep is wrong,

and it may be tied to this.

Okay?

I hope this helps.

Are You Cherry Picking Data? Stop Trying to Prove You're Right! (evidence matters) - Duration: 5:52.

how do you research something on the

internet do you start with an open mind

or do you set out to try and prove that

what you believe is the truth about a

subject what you type into Google will

give you a clue as well as what you do

with the results once they appear if you

are in fact cherry-picking evidence then

there is a pretty good chance that your

conclusions may be completely wrong

let me explain hi I'm dr. Alex from

ourpetshealth.com helping you and your pet

to live a healthier happier life and

welcome to another evidence matters

video now if you've spent any time

online you'll have seen plenty of people

cry do your research well research is

all well and good but only if you're

doing it properly and this plea is

normally made by someone with

alternative views and I've bet in most

cases their cereal cherry pickers so

let's start with the Wikipedia

definition of cherry picking it goes

cherry picking suppressing evidence or

the fallacy of incomplete evidence is

the act of pointing to individual cases

or data that seems to confirm a

particular position while ignoring a

significant proportion or related cases

or data that may contradict that

position so let me explain what this

means with an example using my old

friend homeopathy let's say you come

from a family that strongly believes in

homeopathy but you want to research if

it really works or not chances are you

will go into your research with the

starting opinion that homeopathy does

work even if this belief is a

subconscious one the worst thing you

could Google would be what is the

evidence homeopathy works and leave it

at that

so looking at the first page of Google

you'll find that four of the results are

proclaiming the wonder of homeopathic

treatment and homeopathy in general and

making bold claims about how effective

it is one results it's on the fence and

the other four results on the first page

claim that homeopathy is completely

ineffective now if you're a believer

looking at these results in all

likelihood you will just click on the

four results that support your view you

might follow any links they contain

you'll make copious notes proving what

you already believed and claim with

satisfaction knew your own

independent research confirms homeopathy

is the best thing since sliced bread

what you will have done is cherry-pick

the evidence that supports your view and

completely disregarded any evidence that

suggested otherwise now of course if all

you did was read the evidence that

proves homeopathy doesn't work

you'd be doing exactly the same thing

you'd be cherry-picking the evidence

that you wanted to believe now if you

read all the results and then googled

what is the evidence homeopathy doesn't

work you'd be doing a much better job

because you'd be trying to find evidence

both for and against to allow you to try

and form an overall opinion you'd then

read all about the systematic reviews of

all the evidence and see the many

institutions that have all drawn the

same conclusion now in all likelihood

you'd come to the same opinion so in

reality you can find evidence for

anything that you can imagine and this

evidence may be nothing more than

story's opinion or anecdote and I'll

discuss it in a future video why this

isn't really evidence at all but if it

supports your viewpoint and is the only

thing you look at then it will just do

nothing but confirm your beliefs so just

for example take the belief that the

earth is flat if your research simply

meant that you read evidence on the page

from the Flat Earth Society then what do

you think would happen you do nothing

more but reinforce your belief and that

is not research remember as well that

cherry-picking isn't always done

consciously so it isn't always as

obvious as these examples making a

conscious decision though to avoid

cherry-picking is very important

whenever you're doing any research but

when you're especially when you're

researching particular ideas or

treatments and remember that evidence

can be found and quoted to support

almost every opinion so another category

of cherry-picking that to be aware of

and I'd like to discuss is that mm

manufacturers or whichever drug or

supplement that you might be researching

so most products will often make bold

claims like proven to result in a 59

percent faster cure rate if you actually

look at where this data comes from

though the actual conclusions may be

very different

equally they're made just to pick data

from the one study that showed a

positive result and completely ignore

the majority that failed to demonstrate

any benefit the actual publishing of

research studies is another area where

there's the potential for cherry-picking

so running studies that are conduct

in a way so as to be able to draw firm

conclusions does take a lot of money and

as a result drug companies will often be

the ones funding studies into their

drugs it is quite possible then that

they will only publish the studies which

show the best results leaving those with

less enthusiastic outcomes unpublished

and unseen now that's not to say that

the positive studies that have been

carried out have been done incorrectly

or that all pharmaceutical studies

should be ignored absolutely not but the

overall body of evidence may be subject

to bias as a result of cherry-picking

which studies to publish so a really

good book that discusses this issue and

more about the pharmaceutical industry

in more detail is the very readable bad

farmer and while you're at it

it'd be a good idea to pick up bad

science as well by the same author which

goes through a lot of the ideas that I'm

discussing in my evidence matters series

that are really key to evidence-based

veterinary medicine but also human

medicine and will stand you in good

stead for researching topics in the

future so cherry-picking is just one way

to misinterpret evidence make sure you

know all about the placebo effect in

pets as well as reduction to the mean

which I've discussed in previous videos

and make sure you subscribe to make sure

to be sure that you don't miss out on

future videos all about helping you make

informed decisions so that you and your

pet can live healthier happier lives and

until next time i'm dr. alex from our

pets health because they're family
