(music playing on phone)

(music stops)

>> ERDBRINK: I'm sitting here at

this near-abandoned parking lot

next to the studio waiting for

the Persian superstar Andy.

Andy lives right here in L.A.,

but he's known in Iran as the

"Prince of Persian pop."

And he is so famous that at

every Iranian wedding, people

play his songs.

(Andy singing)

(audience chanting)

>> How are you, my friend?

>> ERDBRINK: Not bad.

How are you?

>> All right.

>> ERDBRINK: Nice to meet you!

>> Nice to meet you, yes.

>> ERDBRINK: Like many people,

Andy used to dream of becoming a

rock star.

And just before the shah was

chased out of the country by

Khomeini in 1979, Andy was about

to make his big breakthrough.

>> I managed to record one

album because CBS Record Company

had just opened a branch in

Iran...

>> ERDBRINK: In Tehran.

>> In Tehran.

They discovered me and they

said, "Hey, we have found the

Iranian Rod Stewart, we want to

take him to America," and all

that.

And I did a track, and we were

on the right track to become the

Iranian Rod Stewart.

And revolution broke out, so

everybody fled and I lost

contacts.

>> ERDBRINK: And what made you

decide to leave immediately?

>> I was going to...

That was my plan to leave,

because I was discovered.

I was going to be an

American singer.

(singing)

>> ERDBRINK: The Iranian rock

star, based in Los Angeles,

became hugely popular

in the Iran of the mullahs.

But soon, his music was

officially banned there.

>> When we would do music here,

it would be recorded on

VHS tapes.

>> ERDBRINK: Mm-hmm, video

cassettes.

>> And smuggled in Iran, and

people would watch it at home

and suddenly it was the thing.

It was amazing.

>> ERDBRINK: Yeah, so, then

comes the point, you're super-

famous, and then you would

think, "Okay, I should have a

concert in Iran."

>> (laughs): Right.

Well, even from the beginning,

it was clear our music

is banned in Iran.

Our way of life is

banned in Iran, because we had

female dancers.

It was a little too American for

the Iranian regime taste.

But thank God that we had the

opportunity to go to Dubai and

the surrounding countries and

then later on, in Armenia,

Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and

people would come outside of

Iran to see us, and that was an

amazing feeling, because when

they come out and see us, we

feel like the Beatles.

(both laugh)

>> ERDBRINK: Because they were

so enthusiastic.

>> Yeah, hungry for music.

They haven't seen the artists.

(audience cheering)

(Andy singing)

>> ERDBRINK: Some of his fans

spent their last money on a

ticket to Dubai or Armenia, so

that they could see their idol

at least once.

But the millions of fans inside

Iran can only dream that the

clerics will ever let Andy

perform in his own country.

You actually, you even have one

video clip that you, as a sort

of animated figure, go back and

you fly over Iran and then you

jump out of a plane, it's a

pretty nice clip.

But then you actually go on a

motorcycle and you tour the

whole country, and everywhere

people are waving, "Welcome

back, Andy!"

>> Sure, it's very sad.

It's sad because we should be

there.

We should be touring every city,

every village.

I grew up in that country and I

love that country.

And I always thought that's

possible, although it's been

38 years already, maybe more.

But I keep thinking that's

possible and it will happen.

(Andy singing)

(fireworks exploding)

>> ERDBRINK: It's usually in a

secret location, preferably far

from Tehran.

The members share information on

Instagram.

What time?

How many people?

And most importantly, where?

They convene in secret a few

times a year: Andy's Iranian

fan club.

It's all very innocent.

They only play his latest songs.

And today, there is a surprise

guest, an Andy impersonator.

He performs all over Iran under

a surprising name-- Mandy.

(Erdbrink speaking):

(laugh)

>> ERDBRINK: I have a surprise

for them.

A live connection with their

idol in Los Angeles.

We have a lot of people here

that are very interested

in talking to you.

>> ERDBRINK: Like star-struck

teens, they wait in line to talk

to their hero.

Some of them have driven for

hours to get here.

(woman speaking):

>> ERDBRINK: None of these fans

ever saw Andy perform in Iran.

They're too young for that.

>> (singing along to song)

>> ERDBRINK: This is one of

those moments when I realize

what a bizarre country this

sometimes is.

These people have come together

in secret because the nation's

leaders have banned their

favorite singer, who sings

innocent songs about love.

Even when the whole country

listens to those songs.

With Corporate Media Distracted, Republicans Packed The Courts With Right Wing Political Hacks - Duration: 4:56.

While we're still currently waiting to find out whether Brett Kavanaugh is going to be

either the next Supreme Court justice or whether he's actually going to be impeached from the

court he's currently on, what's happening in the Senate is that they don't so much care

about Kavanaugh.

They're more worried about packing every other court in this country with right-wing political

corporate hack judges.

That is exactly what's been going on ever since the day that Donald Trump nominated

Brett Kavanaugh to that vacant seat on the US Supreme Court.

In the two months since Kavanaugh was nominated, 26 judges have been confirmed by the Senate

to federal appeals court and district court judgeships.

Every single one of these is a lifetime appointment.

All of that happened, again, 26 of them, in the two months since Kavanaugh was nominated.

Now, if you're watching this, I want you to ask yourself this question.

How many times did you hear anybody in the corporate media talk about that?

Do you know the names?

Can you name one of those 26 judges that Republicans rammed through the Senate?

Can you name the Democrats who struck a deal with Republicans two weeks ago to fast track

11 of these corporate political hack judges for lifetime appointments on our courts?

That we probably can.

Chuck Schumer led the charge on that one, working with Republicans to try to get as

many of their judicial picks on the bench as possible before the midterms.

Donald Trump inherited 108 judicial vacancies throughout the United States that have not

been appointed during the Obama era.

Now, we've talked at length as to why these were left vacant.

Some were Obama's fault, some was obstruction fault.

Overall, they were vacant.

He has appointed close to 100 at this point, most of which have been confirmed, and yet

now due to retirement and other factors he still has 126 left to confirm here in the

United States.

He has even more than he inherited.

He has appointed more judges so far this year, the second year of his presidency, than Obama

did in the second year of his presidency.

By the end of this year, depending on how things go, possibly even by the end of next

year, he'll have appointed more judges than Barack Obama, completely reshaping the judicial

landscape here in the United States, and people don't care.

They think the only thing that matters is the Supreme Court.

You have to understand.

I know it's the court of the land, the top of the top, but very few, a tiny fraction,

of all cases in this country ever go there.

Most judicial issues are figured out and determined and settled in federal appeals courts and

district courts across the country.

Republicans know that.

Democrats and their voters don't seem to understand that at all.

That's why Republicans are so obsessed with packing these courts with pro-corporate, anti-consumer

judges.

They know they can dangle a horrible Supreme Court justice in front of your face and you're

gonna eat it up and follow it wherever it goes.

While you're doing that, they're packing the courts with people who are gonna strip you

of your civil rights, of your right to choose, of workplace protections, and of environmental

protections.

Then you're gonna wonder why the US Supreme Court's not doing anything about it.

The answer is because they only are in session really a few months out of the year.

They take long stretches of time off and they barely hear any cases at all, certainly barely

any cases of consequence.

Those were all previously decided in the lower courts that received an unusually high number

of corporate judges during the Bush administration and a fair amount of corporate judges during

the Obama administration, and now with the Trump administration, not just are we getting

corporate right-wing political hacks, but we're also getting plenty of justices that

the American Bar Association has actually listed as completely unqualified to be a judge

in the United States.

But keep focusing all your attention on Kavanaugh.

It is important, yeah.

But really in the grand scheme of things that's nowhere near as important as what has already

happened to district courts, federal courts, all over this country.

Those decisions are gonna impact more people more closely than anything that could come

out of a Kavanaugh Supreme Court.

- [Male Voices] Yeah!

- [Female Voices] Oh my!

- [Casey] It's about eleven o'clock.

Casey Carver here.

Account Manager at KlientBoost.

We're getting ready to go.

Where are we going?

Are we going to eat?

- We're going to eat.

- [Stone] Can you give me a review of the loco moco?

- Ten out of ten, so far.

It looks like a big slop plate, but there's pasta to go with the rice, gravy on top, eggs,

cooked pretty soft so you get all the runny yolk.

Perfect.

And then, you got two burger patties well after this.

- We are going to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Starlight Luau for some roasted pig.

- And fire dancing and hula dancing and poi and maybe...

- [Moose] And flame twirling and coconuts.

- And some haka dancing.

- Coconuts, yeah.

- Here's the plan: we're heading out to North Shore.

We're gonna blow this bad boy up.

- And these, too.

- And we're gonna try to get destroyed.

That's the plan.

- Woo!

I'm almost there.

- This is a good metaphor for PPC, all about innovation.

- [Nick] That's beautiful.

Oh my God.

That is so beautiful.

- [Stone] Where are we right now, Kim?

What are we doing here?

- We're at Giovanni's on the North Shore, and we're here to get some awesome garlic

shrimp before we head out to Waimea Bay and go jump off some cliffs.

- It already smells like garlic shrimp.

- [Camera Person] Yeah, it smells really good.

- Smells wonderful.

- [Kim] And look how long the line is.

- Yeah.

Right?

Look at these!

- I wanna go to the beach, and no one wants to go to the beach with me, but I wanna go

to the beach.

Ask Kim.

- They do have shrimp in Ohio, yes.

There's a great chain restaurant called The Red Lobster, where they have shrimps that

you can procure.

- [Camera Person] And cheddar biscuits.

- They do have great biscuits.

I wouldn't recommend the shrimp, though.

- Bye!

You know what time it is.

Beach time.

- Good morning, Vlog.

It's day three.

Been stranded on this island with no food, no water.

Reese is running low on Zicam.

And I think now, we're going to do some sort of obstacle course that involves heights.

- Adrenaline.

- Adrenaline.

Is it adrenaline or adrena-line?

I don't know.

- [Stone] Graham...

- Good morning Stone

- [Stone] How are you?

- I'm good.

- It wasn't so bad after like the first half.

- [Kim] The top part was scarier.

It was harder.

The top was way harder.

It's crazy how big of a difference 10 feet makes in height, 'cause I felt like I was

way closer to the ground.

- [Kim ] Yeah.

- Yeah, those of you not doing it, you guys are welcome to come watch, as well.

- [Multiple Voices] Nope.

- Okay, okay.

- [Missy] You got this, Moose!

- Are you kidding me!?

Tiff!

- [Stone] Oh, I like that one.

Ooh!

Ooh!

- Let me get my glasses on, 'cause I gotta be cool with my glasses on.

Alright.

So we're about to go diving with some great whites.

I'm a little scared.

- You get another drink ticket.

This guy over here has broken like every fear of his.

- Yes, I have.

I balanced on a 40 foot...

- Actually, can you pan down to this?

- Oh, yeah.

I got a little sunburn on my feet.

Part of the trade.

- [Spencer] Trying to survive in the wild they call Oahu.

As you can see, he may have forgotten to put on sunscreen yesterday.

He didn't think that the sun actually burned you.

But, what's key to his outfit is that he will never lose his glasses 'cause he's got that

strap on the back.

Look at that, he's rubbing it in perfectly.

Not gonna get any more burned.

Now he's just wondering, "Am I gonna survive in the wild?"

Here he comes.

- [Stone] So how many layers are you adding here?

- Oh, this is just a base coat.

Primer.

- Wait, where are we going?

- [Mitch] We're going away from the dolphins!

- We're gonna go snorkeling, somewhere over there.

- [Nick] Oh, they're building a bonfire.

- I might get a full pineapple.

Thinking about it.

- Really good.

- [Jenn] Did I just spill it on you?

- Stone, How's your shirt?

- [Stone] Stained.

- I feel like every pit stop made today has been so good.

On point.

Exceptional.

- Unintentional and all worth it.

- Are we gonna make it to the falls on time?

- [Stone] Yeah.

We gotta go now.

- [Multiple Voices] Waterfall!

Waterfall!

- [Nick] Dude, those are so sick.

- Dude, I know.

Look at this, look how they twist and like...

- [Nick] How are you gonna get those?

- I'll find them.

Alright man.

- Jacob's Coat, that's what they're called.

- Here's what Spencer likes to do.

He likes to buy really nice plants and really nice pots, and then, he let's them die two

weeks after getting them.

- In my defense...

- Do you see this?

Krista

- [Nick] Spencer, come here.

Spence, look at this.

- [Woman] It's so pretty!

- I'm gonna get a real good photo of this one right here.

- [Stone] Do you like plants?

- Yeah, I'm a closet botanist.

I don't really know how to name any of 'em, but I really like 'em.

Is Your Doctor Missing Something? Most Doctors See A Patient For Only 6 Minutes! - Duration: 5:49.

Hi, Dr. Minkoff here.

Yesterday I had 15 Russian doctors

come as guests to tour our clinic and see what we do.

And they really had no idea of how this works

and I just gave them an average scenario

that would occur in an average doctor's office.

So the patient has about a six minute visit,

which is the average time that a doctor spends with a patient.

And in that six minutes, he's got to figure out

what is the major complaint?

What is the abnormality on the physical exam?

Does the patient need some lab work or not?

And write a prescription, because the next patient is waiting there,

and he's got to see him within six minutes.

And so, the average thing that happens is,

someone comes in with fatigue,

or they don't feel well,

or they have a headache,

and he's got six minutes, so he can't really do that much.

He can't look very hard, because it takes time.

Because most patients, if you talk to them for a while, will give you a real insight into what's wrong.

But what happens is they get the quickie exam.

And then they get the prescription.

And then they get a CBC,

and a CMP, and the doctor says,

"If anything's wrong there, I'll let you know",

"But, probably you're just menopausal",

"You're overtired",

"You're depressed",

and "That's just how life is today,

"because I can't really find anything wrong with you."

"And so here's some Xanax for your anxiety",

"And here's some Ambien for sleep",

"And here's some Prozac for your depression",

and that's the visit.

And for your average patient, that's pretty unsatisfying.

Because they're made to think that there's actually nothing wrong with them,

except some kind of psychosomatic illness,

when actually they know that for the 35 years before this occurred to them,

they didn't have any of those things.

So this isn't an inherited disease.

This isn't something they carried their whole lifetime.

They're 37 years old and they've had these symptoms for two years,

and they went to the doctor, but for the first 35 years, they didn't have it

And so the question is, "Is your doctor missing something?"

Yes. He's missing a whole lot.

He's missing that what you're eating probably isn't very good,

and he's missing,

"Do you have the nutrition that you need in terms of correct supplementation to make up for the problems?"

And he's missing, because he doesn't look at a stool test, or he doesn't look at your blood under a microscope,

or he doesn't test for minor vitamin and mineral deficiencies,

that you have not enough selenium, or not enough vitamin E, or not enough vitamin A,

or your omega-3/omega-6 fats balance is wrong,

or that you have a parasite in your gut,

or, or, or, or...

And what I suggest to people is, that if you have an acute illness,

you have a high fever, and a cough,

yes, the doctor can be very helpful to you.

If you get hit by a car or you're having a heart attack, go to the hospital.

Because the medicine is really good.

But, if you've got a chronic functional problem,

you're fatigued, or you have chronic headaches,

or your joints are hurting you, or you've got digestive problems,

there is a 99% chance that the regular family physician, or internist,

or OBGYN person, isn't really going to have the time, or the wherewithal, or the interest to help you.

And that you just must seek somebody who looks at these things differently.

And that might be a naturopath.

It might be a chiropractor.

It might be a nutritional consultant.

It might be somebody like me, where our interest is,

"What are the things that are actually wrong with the person,

"that can actually be located and fixed so that their health can actually be restored?"

And what we find is, that when we look for these particular things,

we can find them, and with that the person can get better.

So, I wouldn't settle.

Take away: Don't settle for a diagnosis where it's a prescription,

and the prescription's purpose is to take a symptom away from you,

because that isn't finding what's wrong.

You know, there's this story of the guys driving down the highway,

and the red light goes on for brake fluid.

Now, would anybody in their right mind take a piece of tape and tape over that light,

so you didn't see that the brake fluid was low?

And that's akin to giving something for a symptom without actually handling what the reason for it is.

So, if your doctor is helping you and you're doing better,

and you're not on a list of five, six pharmaceutical drugs,

you may have somebody who's working.

But, if the solution is always, "Take this", "Take this", "Take this", "Take this",

then find somebody who really is interested in health,

and they could help you get healthier.

Okay?

Hope this helps.
