SCOTUS Nominee Kavanaugh Helped Release Stolen Emails From Senators - Duration: 4:10.

We're now into day three of the hearings into Brett Kavanaugh, the nominee from Donald Trump

to be the next Supreme Court Justice.

But let's talk about day two for a minute.

First and foremost, Kamala Harris kind of stole the show there with her amazing line

of questioning for Kavanaugh.

Cornering him on issues like whether or not he talked about the Mueller probe with lawyers

from Donald Trumps law firm.

Kamala Harris absolutely demolished Brett Kavanaugh.

And did a phenomenal job of showing us just how incompetent and untrustworthy this man

truly is.

But before that even took place we learned something that should on it's face completely

eliminate Brett Kavanaugh from consideration for the US Supreme Court.

And that line of questioning actually from democratic Senator Patrick Leahy.

And it related back to an incident that took place around 2004 with Brett Kavanaugh when

he was working inside the Bush White House trying to push through some of these Bush

appointed judges who were just as bad as the ones that Trump is packing our courts with.

But Kavanaugh actually received stolen emails from Manuel Miranda who was working for Orrin

Hatch, Republican senator at the time.

And these emails were stolen from six different democratic senators, hacked, they were stolen.

There were over 4000 of these emails that were illegally obtained.

And Brett Kavanaugh was a part of that because he helped leak these emails which contained

information about how horrible these Bush administration appointees were.

It pointed out the conflicts of interests.

For example, one woman Priscilla Owen who had taken a ton of money from Exxon, and then

ruled in favor ... Excuse me, Enron, not Exxon.

Ruled in favor of Enron to the tune of about 15 million is what Enron ended up saving.

She made a lot of money from Enron as well.

So lots of conflicts of interest there.

People who were less than qualified to sick on a bench for a lifetime appointment.

And Kavanaugh helped obtain those emails and leaked them to the potential nominees so that

they could get a head start on the line of questioning that would be taking place.

These were illegally obtained emails.

Kavanaugh knew it because Miranda gave them to him.

And he didn't care.

Kavanaugh has no credibility whatsoever.

And honestly, working with somebody who you knew stole these emails and still spreading

them around, giving these nominees the jump on what the questions were gonna be from the

democratic senators who knew they weren't worthy of being on the bench, that is disqualifying.

But is that gonna stop any of the Republicans from voting against this guy absolutely not.

It's probably not even gonna stop all of the democrats from voting for this guy.

You've still got your Joe Mansions out there who are probably gonna be a clear yes vote

on Kavanaugh.

But this man is a borderline criminal.

He is corrupt as hell as we saw through that questioning from Kamala Harris.

And the potential criminal activity from Patrick Leahy's line of questioning.

There should be no question in the minds of every single American citizen that Brett Kavanaugh

regardless of your political affiliation, this man is not trustworthy enough.

He is not honest enough to serve a lifetime appointment on the US Supreme Court.

And that doesn't even begin to touch what a horrible corporatist this man would be.

All we need to know at this point, aside from his pro corporate, anti consumer leanings,

is that this man will do whatever it takes legal, or illegal to get ahead in life.

And that is not exactly the kind of quality of person that you want to see on the US Supreme

Court.

Hello YouTube and welcome to a new Technikfaultier video,

we are still at the IFA fair trade 2018 in Berlin.

Today we will get a look at the TCL booth. It is huge.

You may know my TCL-video about TV.

But besides lots of TVs TCL stands also for smart home, smart living and also part of it are Alcatel and BlackBerry.

We start with the TV. Behind me you can see the cityline, the premium segment.

The one behind me is the C 76 with 65 inches, LCD.

Product price in Germany is 1.300 EUR with 65 inches, 1.000 EUR for 55 inches.

TCL won the EISA award for its C76 series at 55"

because of elegant design and added features like wide viewing angle and wide colour gamut.

This product gets with Android 8,

includes google assistant and includes a soundbar from JBL.

Going from the TVs to the living windows from TCL,

the next development step of TVs.

You switch TVs on and off, but windows keep open,

besides the TV you get a landscape

or artwork

or important news in the morning as news, traffic news, weather, messages, appointment schedule.

Running with Android you can use the assistant all the time no matter if the TV screen is on or off.

So you can always switch on the TV, switch on the radio, music, change the channel.

This is the 65 inch with 4K QLED. Release will be next year. Prices are not published yet.

There will be 4 different designs.Simple and elegant. Each TV with two speakers and one subwoofer, make you feel in an immersed scene.

From the living windows area we are heading to the smart home.

TCL has build a complete appartement which is running with voice command

When I say:

Hi Tmer, I am home.

the TV turns on,

light turns on,

and air conditioner turns on.

You can combine all these features each way you like.

For example you can add opening the curtains to your command

That's the way I think smart home has to work.

The microphones are included in the TV.

So the smart home is starting with the TV as controller.

Now we try another voice command:

Hi Tmer,play a music

The tv is responding, starting the music

When I want to see a movie I would say:

Hi Tmer, play movie Infinity War.

The TV has identified the right movie. That is exact the way how it should work.

And very nice: it has already added Chinese subtitles

Of course the voice control is running in the complete house.

For example in the bedroom when I am already in bed and do not want to get up:

Hi Tmer, I go to sleep.

You get the light off, curtains closed and you can sleep.

That is the concept of smart home.

The IFA booth is great to try all the possibilities of smart home.

Of course it is a lot of work to install everything in your home and it costs some money,

but when everything is running

you can feel like Captain Picard on the Enterprise when you can control everything with your voice.

After 8 hours of sleep, but no during the IFA you get only 4 hours of sleep,

you wake up and give the command to start the morning routine:

Hi Tmer, open the curtain.

you get information about the weather, curtains open and you get your daily schedule

For the bathroom we have the next voice command:

Hi Tmer, I would like to take a shower.

If that is working, that means the bathroom has to be ready for me:

for example: heated floor starts, water is heated, light is turned on,

electric toothbrush has been charged

Last location is the kitchen.

We are cooking with gas.

You have to press and turn to turn on the stove.

Look, It's starting a red illumination.

While we want to start to cook the kitchen hood gets out automatically.

The nice staff member of the TCL booth now shows us an example setting especially with a gas stove:

The stove is running, gas is outpouring, but I am going for a walk with the dog…

You can see the sensor alarm starts, the kitchen hood speeds up, the window opens to get the gas out of the room.

That is a great idea for security.

When I am back in the kitchen of course I turn off the gas.

And I think you surely can extend the system with for example notification on your smartphone, the fire department, animal rescue to get my pet out of the danger.

Yes,TCL focus on products connection to build intelligent life for end users.

Of course we can not leave without getting a look at the fridge

At the moment it is not sure that these fridge will be available in Germany.

They are testing the products about 1-2 years in the home country China before expanding to Europe.

So we are in the test phase. It has been released in China in the beginning of 2018.

You can see the display. It is running with Android. So everything is connected.

There is a camera inside the fridge, which identifies everything I put in the fridge. You do not have to scan the products.

If you get something out of the fridge it also recognizes that.

On the display you can see how long the single products already stay in the fridge and how durable they are.

It shows yellow for 1 day, red for 3 days - that means you should eat it soon.

But the fridge can not identify if I put out the same apple out and in again.

Then the counting for the storage life counts from zero.

Very interesting product, but probably not cheap, if it is really working.

And of course we can not skip the washing machines in an IFA video.

TCL has also washing machines.

Here the new top loader washing machine

with special voice control for each family member if you have not so much cloth to spare water.

It is not running on Android and not yet connected to the smart home.

It has no WiFi connection.

That is still in progress at the moment and under construction.

I am sure that will take place in the future.

And finally we get to the air conditioner.

The nice staff member besides me has told me about all the functions.

Here is the T-smart TCL.

Cooing down to 17° in 30 seconds.

Heating to 40° in 1 minute

And there is no breath of wind.

Just directly in front of it you can feel some air movement.

Of course it is included into the smart home system.

It has no own microphone. Thank you very much.

Last topic Alcatel and of course also BlackBerry

- both belonging to TCL.

Yesterday the BlackBerry KEY2 LE has been presented.

A light smartphone, Snapdragon 636, we know already from the BlackBerry KEYone from last year.

Starting with a price of 399 EUR for 32 GB version, 30 EUR added for the 64 GB version.

It has a real complete keyboard, but without trackpad. The keyboard has a good surface to touch.

3 new colours: slate, champagne and atomic.

Now the question is: do you want to buy an LE or a cheaper one from last year if you want to have a smartphone with keyboard.

I had a great time on the TCL booth.

Of course the TVs and smart home things are much cooler for me than the washing machine or the air conditioner

But also great to get to know things like that and to get a small look at what is possible in the future.

Practice Solution: Formatted Receipt - Duration: 9:46.

This is the solution for the other practice problem proposed at the end of the Strings

and printf tutorial in this same playlist and for this one what we're going to do is

a formatted receipt.

So, the goal is to have a receipt that looks like this and we're going to edit the receipt

program from types, variables, and expressions in order to get this program.

So, I'm gonna right click and copy and then paste here.

And I'm gonna call it formatted receipt.

Double click here to get the left pane to go away.

Move this over.

Ok, so we want our receipt to look like this instead of the way it looks now.

So, the first thing to do is create a string for the name.

So, string name equals Megan and put in that first line.

So, this one I'm just going to do the regular println because it doesn't have to have special

formatting.

So, I'm going to do system dot out dot println Mr Mrs plus and then name and then plus the

rest of the line your totals are.

And now these next lines are where the printfs come into play.

So, I'm going to go ahead and do the printfs without any of the spacing taken taken into

consideration.

So, the first one is going to be just subtotal and then subtotal.

So, this becomes printf and then this first one is where all the formatting is going to

take place.

So, first I have a String followed by a decimal, sorry, followed by uh a float.

So, now I want to do the subtotal with tax.

So, again this becomes subtotal with tax and then this first parameter to printf becomes

the percent s percent f.

And this is going to be the total total.

Forgot a space there.

And that becomes a comma again and now we have that first parameter to printf which

will be another percent s percent f.

And you'll notice on the receipt that we're aiming for it has a tip.

So, what we're going to do is create another double called tip amount that's going to equal

to this calculation that was done here and we're just going to replace that that calculation

with the tip amount variable.

So, now we can get the percent s percent f tip and then tip amount.

Ok, so we're going to run this.

So, run and then run formatted receipt.

And the first thing we notice is that all of these lines that were supposed to be our

nice receipt are strung together and that's because printf doesn't introduce newline characters

for us in the same way that plain print doesn't.

So, I want to first add in newline characters and after the tip I want, sorry, that's, what

am I doing.

Not percent, backslash.

And after the tip I want 2 newlines so I have this nice space between tip and total.

So, I'm going to rerun.

And now we see that we have everything on its own line, but I really wanted there to

be another space between this line and this line so I'm going to add another one here.

And rerun it.

Ok, so the first thing we want to focus on is getting these numbers to have the correct

number of decimal places.

So, to do that I'm just going to put a point 2 before the f to say only 2 decimal places.

So, I'm going to rerun and now these all look like dollar amounts.

And we'll notice now that when we were doing it just flat out we forgot to put the dollar

signs.

So, I'm gonna go ahead and add those back in, dollar, dollar, dollar, dollar.

Ok, so now all of our money amounts have dollar signs but we still have one issue.

The first is that our money amounts aren't all the way right aligned, the second is that

the wording isn't left aligned nicely so things like up in columns like they do in our example

output.

So, in order to fix that we're gonna count how many characters are in this String so

we know how wide the word column needs to be.

So, there's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18.

So, I'm going to say 20 just to be safe.

So, I'm going to put a 20 before the s everywhere to say I want it 20 wide.

Now, remember the default for width is to have it right justify but we want it to be

on the left.

So, we need to put in minus in front of all these 20s.

So, now this will align it to the left.

Ok, so now all of our words are aligned to the left properly but our dollars here on

the right are still misaligned.

So, let's assume that everything is capped at the hundreds place.

So, no total will ever be over a thousand dollars.

So, that means this right here will never be wider than 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

So, I can make this 7 point 2 because the 7, actually it's 6 because I don't need to

count by dollar sign.

So, that will make this number 6 wide including the decimal and things after the decimal and

it will right align them because that's the default for a width.

So, I can hit play and now my receipt is properly formatted exactly like I wanted.

Except, one minor problem, right, the dollar sign here didn't get formatted properly because

it just moved it over.

So, in order to fix that, what would we do...

I actually hadn't considered this whenever, before I started programming.

Let's see...

We could do a, um, string dot format which we haven't talked about yet in order to get

the dollar sign over or we could decide that it's not a big enough deal and the dollar

signs being aligned where they are is perfectly ok with us.

I think for now so that we don't get in the weeds we can just decide that this kind of

output is ok.

It gets the point across and we know exactly what our total is supposed to look like.

So, that's it!
