-I want to ask about this.

I know you do a lot of book signings.

And because -- that you write about personal things

and because you narrate

a lot of your -- you read a lot of your work,

so I think, I feel as though people might feel like

they know you even more than they do.

Obviously, more than they do.

But are people personal with you?

Do they tell you personal things

when they come to your book signings?

-Oh, I invite it.

I mean, I would never -- when I go get a book signed,

I stand in line, and I think, "What am I gonna say?

What am I gonna say?" And...

So I want to take that away from people,

so I just ask them a question. Or, you know, someti--

Like, I was in Germany recently.

So I would say, "When was the last time

you saw your parents naked?"

And if you asked that in America, people will say,

"I don't know. Like, I was 6 months old."

And in Germany they say, "What's today?"

[ Laughter ] Like...

They all -- they just walk around the house

naked all the time.

-You were in Norway.

I mean, you're known worldwide. How was your trip to Norway?

-Norway is --

It's staggering how beautiful it is.

-Yes, it is. -But -- So you've been?

-I have, yeah.

-But you go to the country, y'all can be in the country,

and then you get three sandwiches and a cup of coffee,

and it's $100.

I mean, it's crazy. -Yeah.

-It's like my friend David Rakoff used to say,

it's like your weight on Mars.

You know, like, if you went to Mars,

they would say, "well, you might be 163 pounds here,

but on Mars, you would weigh 700 tons."

So that's what the prices are like in Norway.

But we went to this restaurant in Norway, and they had --

It said, "Smoked whale

served with ecological sour cream."

[ Laughter ]

So it's like, bad news about the whale, but...

[ Laughter ]

...really good news about the cow.

-What -- Have people asked you to be -- to personalize writing

when they sign the books?

What's the strangest thing people have asked you to do

with their book signing?

-I mean, sometimes people say...

I mean, this must happen to you -- "Keep laughing."

And it's like, I would never put that in my own...

-Yeah. -...'cause that makes it sound

like I think my book is funny.

I'm not gonna do that.

But this woman came up recently and she said,

"My daughter has been awful to me for years,

and I want you to write something so when I die,

she'll find it in the book and feel really bad."

[ Laughter ] So...

she said...

"I want you to write, 'Dear Barbara,

I'm sorry Claire has been so awful to you.'"

And I wasn't gonna write that, so I wrote,

"Dear Barbara, your story about

"the infant son you put up for adoption

all those years ago touched my heart."

That's... [ Laughter ]

that's how you destroy your daughter.

-Did you -- Now what is -- Did some...

[ Laughter ]

What did someone tell you about --

I know there's a story.

Someone told you something about a pug.

Their pug? -Okay.

-How did it come about?

-I was signing books, and this woman --

I don't know how it started, but this woman...

So her pug had an operation on its eye,

and so it had a cone around its neck.

And so it just wouldn't shut up about the cone. It was whining.

And so she took the cone off,

and the dog scratched at its eye,

and its eye popped out of his head,

and he ate it.

[ Audience "Ohs" ] Okay?

So...

so somebody told me that story at a book signing,

and then I repeated it the next night, and this woman said,

well -- she said -- she was a psychiatrist

with the prison system in New Mexico,

and a prisoner dug both his eyes out with a teaspoon.

And he ate the first one, but he couldn't find the second one.

[ Laughter ] Okay?

-That's like a fable.

[ Laughter ]

-And then I met somebody else who --

But he was a crazy person, and he --

-Oh, was he? -He said there was a --

[ Laughter ] -No, this was a --

this was another person. -Okay, gotcha.

-But he said -- he thought there was a camera behind his eye.

-Oh, gotcha.

-So he dug his eyes out with a --

-All right. I would say in the end,

the pug's the one that's the most easy to understand.

-Well, that just is such a dog --

I mean, I'm not a dog person. -Yeah.

That's a good argument why not to be.

-That a dog would eat its own eye.

-Yeah. -A dog would think,

"My gosh, I'm blind, but...it's a snack."

-Yeah. -I mean, I guess.

[ Laughter ]

-I cannot thank you enough for being here.

Please come back. -Oh, I would love to.

Mamoudou Athie Was Starstruck by Hugh Jackman - Duration: 4:44.

-This film is about Gary Hart's

1988 presidential campaign... -Yeah.

-...and the scandal that unraveled it.

So, I have to ask, did you know anything about this

when the script came to you? -No, nothing at all.

-Okay. -I had no idea

who Gary Hart was, unfortunately.

It's just one of those pieces of American history

that just kind of --

I don't know. I feel like a lot of people

in my generation particularly have no idea.

-Yeah, and certainly with things that are happening now,

it seems very quaint... [ Laughter ]

-[ Sighs ]

-...what derailed his presidential ambitions.

-Yeah. Yeah, it's like, "Oh, well, all right."

-Yeah. -Yeah.

-You -- obviously, Gary Hart is played by Hugh Jackman.

-Yeah. -What was it like

to work with somebody of his stature?

-Well, I mean I grew up watching, like, his movies.

You know, the first thing I probably saw him in

was "X-Men," I think. -Yep.

-A lot of people.

So I just remember him, like, when I first got to Atlanta,

he's walking down the steps in his, like,

full Gary Hart outfit.

And I was like -- [ Stammering ]

And I don't even get, like, starstruck anymore,

but I was like, "Hey, man..." [ Stammering ]

Something happens to me when I'm, like, nervous.

I just get really boring. [ Laughter ]

So any, like, follow-up conversation I had with him

was like, "Hey, man, so, uh,

how's the weather in Australia?" [ Laughter ]

-Oh, that's good. No, I'm sure he was really interested...

-Yeah. Yeah. He was like... -...in answering that.

-...so nice about it, but I was like, "Poor guy."

-And then -- but, I mean, that's very intense.

You know, you're not just working with Hugh Jackman,

you're doing a scene at a diner where it's just the two of you.

-Oh, yeah. -Is that something where

you can sort of shake off that you're working

with Hugh Jackman, and just dial into the acting of scene?

-Well, fortunately, I can just, like, judo that neuroses

into, like, the character's -- -Yeah, you seem nervous there,

so that worked out. -Yeah. So it's just me,

like, just with -- "I'm sorry, Hugh, I'm sorry."

Yeah.

-He probably went over to the director and he's like,

"I think you better have him play it nervous."

[ Laughter ] -Yeah. 'Cause, listen --

-"If he asks me about the weather one more time..."

[ Laughter ] -Right.

-So you're from Mauritania. -Yeah.

-What's the weather like there?

[ Laughter ]

-How --

-No, but you have a very interesting story.

Your family emigrated here when you were a baby.

How did your family -- what were the logistics of them

making the trip here? -Well, my dad was a diplomat

for the Mauritanian government at the time.

And my mom was just the type of person

who made friends with everyone. Everyone.

So she somehow made friends with a Republican Senator's daughter.

-Wow. [ Laughter ]

Yeah. [ Laughter ]

-And my dad, you know, we sought asylum in the States,

and that's how we got over here.

-Wow, so that -- in -- just via that meeting,

you managed to apply to asylum. -Yeah.

-That's an incredible -- -Different times.

-Different times, yes, it was a different time.

You -- are your parents happy

that you are in acting, or are they --

-The most supportive parents you could ever find.

-Oh, that's fantastic. That's wonderful to hear.

-No, they're amazing. My sister -- yeah.

They're incredibly supportive.

But they're also, um, uh... honest.

-Okay. I got a couple of those, yeah.

-Yeah, yeah. Very honest.

I remember the first thing I ever invited them to,

um, was this play.

My first year at grad school. I was the lead.

I was super excited about it.

But I was, like, fine to bad in it, you know?

-Sure. -And so they come --

And they come all the way from Maryland.

It's like a six-hour drive.

And they see the show,

and everyone in the audience is like, "Ah, that kid.

He's got a long road." [ Laughter ]

But my parents, you know -- expected them to be like,

"Yeah, you know, good job." But they're like...

[ Laughter ]

"Where do we eat around here?"

I'm like, "Flatter me. Lie to me."

-Well, they must be proud of you now.

Obviously you're very accomplished.

You've had great work over the last couple years.

But your first -- this is your first credit in a film.

You played -- your role was "Crying Man."

Can you describe the role? [ Laughter ]

-Well, I was a man who cried down a corridor.

-That's a good name of a character.

-I mean, listen, it was very, very specific.

-So no lines, you just -- all you did was cry.

-My job was to walk down the hallway and cry.

-And now I want to point out,

here's the actual credit of "Crying Man." And --

[ Laughter and applause ]

Is it safe to say -- Yeah.

I do also want to point out that, uh,

they inverted your first and last name.

-Oh, yeah. I mean, actually that's much better than it was.

Because when I first saw it, my name wasn't my name.

[ Laughter ] -Okay, got it.

-Yeah, it was Athie...some amalgamation of those letters.

-Gotcha. -Yeah, yeah.

-So, well, fortunately, I checked,

and in "The Front Runner," they spelled everything right.

-Yes. -They nailed it.

You got a character name and everything.

-Whoa! -And congrats on everything.

Thank you so much for being here.

-Thanks man, appreciate it.

David Sedaris' New Passion Is Picking Up Garbage - Duration: 4:33.

-I want talk about something you write about your book.

You write about your passion for picking up garbage.

-Well, because we live in -- I live in England now.

-Yeah. -And I didn't notice it

in London so much,

but then we moved to West Sussex in a little village.

It's in the South Downs National Park.

And so the downs are like these massive hills

that are so green they make your eyes ache.

And we live on a, you know, a narrow one-lane road.

And so if two cars are coming, one has to pull off.

and, like, a cottage that looks like a storybook.

But people throw everything out the car window.

Everything. You finished with that newspaper?

Throw it out the window.

Coffee cup? Throw it out the window.

Sandwich? Throw it out the window.

And when I moved there, I wrote -- and I said,

"Is there a parade?" Like, I couldn't conceive.

And every...So I had a meeting

and was proposing a bunch of things,

and they said, "No, we can't. No, we can't."

So I just thought, "Okay fine, I'll do it."

[ Laughter ]

So it's -- it's like an 8-hour a day job.

-Uh-huh. -And I have an outfit,

and I pick up trash for eight hours a day.

-And you've written that it's actually not that bad.

You listen to a podcast. You listen to...

-Yeah. I just think of it as my job.

But people see me, and they just think that I'm crazy.

I mean, they... -Yeah.

-If I come upon a family, they pull their children close.

They... [ Laughter ]

-Yeah, because usually, people,

in order to do what you're doing,

have had to have committed a crime.

[ Laughter ] -Right.

No, a lot of people think that I'm a felon and...

I have a grabber. -Uh-huh.

-And I have...I mean, when I say I have an outfit, like,

they want me to wear this reflector, but I'm not.

-Yeah.

-It's more like a hobo outfit that I wear.

-Yeah. [ Laughter ]

-Like with big patches, like a Broadway --

if there was a Broadway play called "Hobo,"

that's what I'm dressed like.

-But now, this has not gone unnoticed.

They actually -- I guess the town --

is it the town that gave you -- bestowed this honor?

They named a garbage truck after you.

-Yeah. [ Laughter ]

-This is true.

This is the Pig Pen Sedaris garbage truck.

[ Laughter ] -Well, because...

[ Cheers and applause ]

Well...

they were gonna put my name on it, and I thought,

"Well, 'Sedaris' on a garbage truck just wouldn't make sense."

And I don't really have a nickname.

I always wanted one.

And you can't really give yourself one.

So I thought, "Okay, Pig Pen," so it'd just have pig on it...

-Yeah. -...and then make it

a little bit better. -These -- By the way,

these couldn't look more like what I pictured

British women who come to this kind of ceremony.

[ Laughter ] Everything.

-The local paper did an article about it.

The article was just like, "Local man picks up trash."

-Uh-huh. -And then someone in America

saw it and said, "Don't you know who this is?"

And so they rewrote it. But it doesn't matter...

-Yeah. -...that I'm an author.

It doesn't really matter. -No, that's not what

this is about. -No.

-I have to ask, in your trash picking up,

have you seen that newspaper article on the ground yet?

[ Laughter ]

'Cause that would really --

that's, like, circle of life right there.

You actually were invited to speak to the House of Commons

based on your trash proclivities.

-I went and I testified to the House of Commons about litter.

-What did you testify about? Just litter?

-Well, it was me and the head of the tobacco manufacturers,

and a guy -- a woman who owns, like,

eight McDonald's franchises.

And when it was my turn, I just said, "I'm not -- I'm nobody.

"I just pick up rubbish, and here's what I pick up

and here's what I notice."

But it never occurred to me that anyone would be for litter.

-Uh-huh. -But one of the MPs was just,

"So, Mr. Se-dah-ris..."

Like -- Oh, maybe he said, "Mr. Se-dah-ris,"

as if, like, that's not really my name.

"You live in Horsham, a very wealthy...

"[ Clears throat ] part of the country.

"So tell me, sir,

"is somebody throwing a can out their car window

the biggest problem you have down there?"

And I'm just not used to being talked to that way, you know?

-Sure. -And I was just flustered.

But for the rest of my life, I'll resent saying --

I'll be mad at myself for not saying, "Oh, God, no.

"No, no, no.

The biggest problem is your mother's whoring."

[ Laughter and applause ]

What would they...

[ Cheering ]

what would they -- what would they do?

I mean, they couldn't imprison you.

-You know, I think if you said that,

you'd be back in the newspaper. [ Laughter ]

-But who's for trash?

-Yeah, who's for litter? -Who is for it?

Guadeloupe | Sailing Britican S5E23 - Duration: 19:03.

After a fast sail down from Antigua we arrived into Deshaies, Guadeloupe. This is

our second time at the anchorage. It's always so much more comfortable when you

enter a place that you've been before. Our guest crew member Douwe took the lead

on grabbing a mooring ball. If you're not sure on the steps involved with safely

tying onto a mooring ball make sure to purchase our guide, 'Mooring Balls

Explained - a Checklist for a Secure Mooring.' Once our mooring was secured we

put the mainsail in the sail bag, cleaned up the boat, and pulled the mahi-mahi we

caught on the way over out of the fridge. To learn how to fillet a mahi-mahi check

out our separate video entitled 'How to fillet a mahi-mahi.'

Once all the boat jobs were done and the fish was filleted we took the dinghy it over to our

buddy boat, Rondo, for a potluck. On the menu was Mahi-mahi, Lionfish and

Barracuda in addition to a range of lovely side dishes. The next day we decided

to get a few odd jobs taken care of. Our British Army Association flag needed to

be mended and put back on the pole with the help of Sienna the goofball. Another

job that we wanted to tackle was to replace the webbing that holds up our

spray hood and Bimini. Over time the UV breaks down the threads that keeps the

webbing attached. In the case of our spray hood webbing we quickly replaced

it with rope until I had the time to pull out the sewing machine.

Many cruisers ask me, 'should I get a sewing machine and if so what one?' Yes I

think it's worth having a sewing machine. The thread in your flags, webbing,

cushions, winch and grill covers, sail bags and even your sails will

disintegrate way before the fabric does. Which machine should you get? Well I've

been using this rather inexpensive industrial-strength Singer for years.

it's been fantastic. It is important however to stock outdoor UV resistant

thread on board for use for your repairs. While Simon and I were replacing webbing

Douwe was replacing the fan that sits above my bed. When we were fishing we

went backwards in the boat. A wave went over the back of the boat

into our lazarette that was open and doused everything with salt water so

we've pulled all the ropes out of our lazarette and Douwe is just drying them

now after he cleaned them. And what's Sienna doing while we're all working. Well after

she completes her homeschooling and before the other boat kids are ready to

play she amuses herself in a variety of ways. So right there is a French-Canadian

boat and it's a kid boat. There's one little girl on there so Simon

introduced ourselves and Douwe just went to pick her up. And then Rondo is right there. So Douwe picked up Katelyn.

And now, Douwe is over at Pura Vida picking up Katie Grace and Hayward so Douwe

is bringing them all to the little town dock which is by that church there that

steeple. And all the kids are going to just jump in the water from the dock.

They did it yesterday and had a good time so it's nice that they have

somebody new. I don't know if she speaks English or not but I told Sienna to make her

feel comfortable. That evening our buddy boat Pura Vida came over for dinner.

Simon made a curry for us all to enjoy. Douwe and Heyward are getting ready for

the green flash. There is a high potential that we might see it today

because there's no clouds on the horizon. There's no wind. There's no nothing so we

might see the green flash. Watch and this is where it's gonna happen any second

Here it comes. Here it comes. Here it comes. Come on. As we pondered whether or not we

really did see the green flash the kids enjoyed dinner and made up a song for us.

The next day we rented a couple cars and took off in search of waterfalls life. As

a cruiser is quite varied. Some people that don't know much about our lifestyle

think that once we move onto a boat we rarely go back on lan. Well that's not

true. Cruisers are travelers and they like to see the world wherever they go.

They anchor and get off the boat to explore the sites. We eventually found a

trail that supposedly led to a waterfall. The sign said that the trail was closed

but we decided to go anyway.

Not wanting to get my sneakers dirty I made a very big mistake and wore

flip-flops.

I took my shoes off.

After everyone had a snack and a swim we headed back up.

"Oh my gosh, did you fall over?" "Yes"

Eventually we made it home. Isn't that an amazing concept? Our home is our boat we

get to explore amazing sites all over the world yet always come home at night.

How are we doing Kim? Really good. Pana-chocolate. That's a beautiful thing about the French island. We've got a boat

full of kids. What are you doing kids?

You're playing Minecraft and you're all connected.

Eating. Yeah, that's unusual for you Heyward. The plan today is it's 7:30 and...

There's Douwe in the background - trying to be hiding away.

We're gonna leave the Deshaies and we're gonna go to Pigeon Island which is about

an hour and a half sail but with this wind probably about two and a half. And

then we're gonna go snorkeling. It's supposed to be one of the best snorkels

in the Caribbean. And then Ile De Saintes. We've been there before it's really nice.

We're gonna enjoy our sail today. It's gonna be nice and easy.

Oh yes, and there's a fishing competition - I won the last one.

Thank you Deshaies. It was a wonderful anchorage. Good bakery.

Oh yes. Anything else to add? Good bakery. Yeah very good.

We had a good time. Yeah.

We're heading out. Rondo's heading out - there back there we go

Simon and Heyward are talking - there's a fishing competition today.

The girls are all really interested in playing Minecraft. Simon and Douwe are in the competition.

And we've got Heyward (Senior)over there and he's probably the best fisherman that we got around us.

Are we keeping you awake? I'm just waiting to jump into action when we get a fish. Okay.

The first fishing pole going the line going in. We've got Heyward doing that now

Douwe's just tying something on to the fishing pole to make sure it stays on

the boat in the holder once we get the big one.

Simon's preparing the next line to go out. And we've got the flag up because we

repaired it the other day. We've got the wind coming straight on the beam. We're not

going too far because we're going to a snorkeling site first and then we're

going to Isle de Sainte and we're doing about 3.8 knots. Very calm today but

enough wind to fill the sails.

Look who we're passing. Wow we're fast!

They're giving Pura Vida the loser sign.

We're racing along at two point nine knots. Princess Fluffy (Rondo) is back there they gave

up on sailing because they couldn't really get an angle. And so they've got

their engine on now. So they're gonna catch us up. We're still sailing but

we're kind of going out to sea. The engine has been turned on.

We're heading in. Getting the snorkeling gear prepared.

Just coming up to the Jacque Cousteau Underwater Park. Can't wait to see what's there

So we just anchored. And I have Simon looking for the anchor to make sure that

it's dug in. There's the place where we're going snorkeling.

Thank you Pigeon Island Anchorage for having us.

Thank you Pigeon Island. That was excellent snorkeling.

7.9 not bad. Flat calm out here. The best conditions we've had in a long time.

Slimy.

Any update on the fishing line?

Just weeds?

Diarrhea is not an adjective.

Lots of seaweed. So this is where the fish hide out

underneath these big patches of the Sargassum. So Douwe and Heyward are

trying to catch tonight's dinner and the girls are working on Mad Libs.

Getting fresh water.

So we made it in and it's

downpour. There's Pura Vida there.

And Rondo's next to us (Princess Fluffy).

And we've got some more friends that are in the anchorage here but can't really

get out right now. So hopefully this is gonna pass over. The rain was in for the

day but the following day we woke up to blue skies, clear water, and another day

in paradise. Le Saintes is a wonderful location to stop. Every direction

provides something to make your eyes smile. The kids spent the day jumping off

the boat and swimming all around. Then they enjoyed a couple hours of fort

building. When it comes to boat kids, just because they're not in a house or on

land that does not stop them from building forts.

So Heyward's in the living room. That's great - you guys did really good at enclosing this.

So, you'll find the Le Saintes 15 kilometers off the southern coast of Guadaloupe it's a

small archipelago made up of nine islands that were discovered by

Christopher Columbus on the 4th of November 1493. Once you get off the boat

and tour the Main Street you'll get a feel for the uniqueness of the area. It's

as if you go back in time and are perhaps teleported to a European town.

There's a great feel to the area and of course there's the benefits of French

bread, pastries and delicious French cuisine.

We're all heading to Dominica today.

Good bye Guadaloupe. Thanks for having us.

What do we think of Voice Assistance? | 2018 - Duration: 1:49.

Voice is the new channel

Made possible by Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant

What can we expect in the Netherlands?

With what? - With voice

I can't imagine that

Oh well...

I think it's weird

Whether we will take part in that? No

I think it will happen

I don't think so

I just don't think I want it to happen

No, I don't like the thought of a robot

I don't know why

Then you don't need to reach for anything anymore

It's convenient, but I think you'll get really lazy

By that time, it will probably be very normal

I just think it's really scary

Then you'll be talking to an object

These people aren't normal

What's the use of it actually?

Isn't it useless?

Then you'll just be talking to a brick-like object. Why not talking to the wall?

So the first reactions are not very positive

[Calling with a mobile phone in 1998] "Do you have a mobile phone?"

No. I don't need that

Well, then you're biking and before you know it someone calls you

I have a landline, what would I need a mobile phone for?

Welcome to the Voice revolution

In the US, 60 million smart assistants have been sold within 4 years only

Are you ready?

AMA#1: How To Find The Right Bid and Budget For Facebook Ads/AdWords, Making A Marketing Funnel - Duration: 12:03.

Hey everyone this is Viren and welcome to my first youtube live AMA I can see some

of you have already joined in. there's Lukhi there's ArnabTechLoverour, there's

ChaosShip. thanks guys for joining in what I'm gonna be doing now is doing

these weekly ask me anything questions you can always reach out to me on

instagram on twitter @virenbaid. the link is in the description and you can

leave your questions any time during the week i'll pick up these questions and

i'll do this live event where I'm going to start answering these questions for

you so I have collected a couple of questions that I already have but in

case you have any more questions you can start adding them to the comments here

right on YouTube and I will answer them I'll take them and answer them through

this AMA session so let's get started without wasting anyone's time the first

question that I've selected is something I get asked a lot and it simply is how

much do I select as my bid now if you're running ads on Facebook Instagram or

Google Ads you have this question especially as a new advertiser that how

much should I exactly bid and though the number is very very simple there is no

fixed number you will have to do a lot of experiment here now for example if I

was doing a CPC in India I would start with keeping my bid as one rupee

and then I would wait for a few hours I would I would wait for the ad to get live

and then see the amount of impressions and clicks I will receive in an hour

and then I would wait to see if my desired number of clicks or impressions

are being achieved and if I'm not happy with the results I can go by slightly

increasing my bids I would I would go from one rupee is to maybe 1.30 rupees

1.50 1.5 rupees 2 rupees and so on until I find that that number which I feel is

good for me and where I'm getting consistent amount of traffic so that is

how I would decide on what is that bid value so always remember there is no

fixed number that you can select it completely depends on the audience your

advertising for the platform you are on and things like that this sort of jumps

over the second question I had selected and the second question is how many

conversions that is clicks or impressions or purchases whatever the

conversion means to your business can I achieve with say $100 so I get this

question a lot how many clicks can I expect in hundred dollars or fifty

dollars or how many website visits can I expect in fifty dollars and things like

that now the answer is very straightforward that again like the

previous question there is no fixed answer so I need everyone to understand

how this works whether it's Facebook or whether it's Google Ads

any platform the advertising platform now serves as a marketplace so if I am a

user on the marketplace there are going to be a lot of other businesses that are

competing to show me an ad right and to show me an ad what they will do is

everybody puts in a bit someone says one rupee someone says two rupees for a bid

and that's how it works now whoever is the highest bidder we always get get to

advertise to me and this doesn't mean that if someone's been two dollars and

you bid one dollar there I will get you all the time what

it essentially means is that if I was shown three ads two of them would be the

business that have paid two dollars and one of the ad will be the business with

one dollar so obviously if you want more reach more impressions you increase your

bid now it also depends a lot on how many such businesses are competing for

this specific user if there are hundreds of businesses competing for this one

user naturally the cost to show an ad to that audience will be very high

now if comparatively very few businesses are competing for a certain type of user

a certain audience or a certain keyword in terms of in Google ads what that

would mean is that the bid value will be very low and you will get higher

impressions so that is how this works the next question of picked up is

something I was asked last week how do you build a marketing funnel with

Facebook ads now let me quickly tell you what a marketing funnel is in case there

are some users who don't know what it is think of a funnel and on top of the

funnel is all those users who who are just connected to you at a very base

level now now here we are talking in terms of Facebook ads so the top of the

funnel would be everybody who has liked your page who who've engaged with say

your videos your photos whatever content you're posting on Facebook now the next

step in the funnel and as we go down the funnel we're going to see more serious

users who are more seriously interested in your business right so the next step

would be something like people who visited your website and let's say if

you're an e-commerce site the next step below that would be someone who's seen

products on your website and further down there with people who've added to

cart certain products but did not buy and finally at the bottom of the funnel

would be people who have converted who things on your website now how do you

create this finally with Facebook ads like I said at the top of the funnel is

everybody who's seen your Facebook page who've seen your ads maybe who have seen

your videos or photos whatever you're posting on Facebook now you need a

couple of things to set this up firstly Facebook pixel is something you need set

up I have a tutorial on how to set up Facebook pixel search it on my channel

and you will find it what the pixel does is whenever someone reaches your

site via Facebook Ads you're able to track that and even you

can show them ads again down the next step here is when someone clicks on an

ad visits your website they become the next step they enter the next part of

the funnel now if they leave your website from there you can get them back and how

do you get them back with remarketing ads so you start retargeting them and

you start bringing them to your to your website again now to increase this base

of the funnel you will do ads you will do branding as you'll you will make a

few buckets of audiences which you think are your target audience and you will show

ads to them you will try various content with them and whoever clicks on this ad

starts reaching your website and you create that that base in your funnel

from where you can now start showing people more specific ads so whoever has

seen your products now you can start showing them ads related to those

products and again this is something you can very easily do with Facebook catalog

ads if you have paid Facebook pixel installed on your site again I have a

tutorial on this I will link it up in the description probably once this video

goes live and and you can check it out from there so as I was saying once the

user is and has seen your products you can remarketing them you can show them

similar products this is something that happens on Amazon or other ecommerce

sites a lot where where you realize you've gone and started seeing some

products and then suddenly you start seeing ads of those products on Facebook

Google ads display YouTube all the places Instagram so you can do that as

well now

this we need two more conversion because people who have already shown interest

in your products who are at the middle chunk of the funnel they will come back

to your website and now you're motivating them to convert now then we

need to write at the bottom of the funnel who have not converted but they

have done things like added to cut again that is something you can figure out

with Facebook pixel if I've added a product to my cart now you can show you

more specific ads you can show me ads like a coupon maybe your 10% discount

coupon the content can be more directed to me the content can be here you left

something on your cart how about go make that purchase here's a 10% discount

coupon that you can use and and I might be tempted to buy that right so that is

how you can create a funnel again to reiterate the funnel looks like the top

is all your audience you you show them very basic as gender large to attract

them to your website once they're back in your website you start showing them

more specific ads may be related to the products they

they've already seen and once they've showed more interest you can you can

show more targeted ads to for the products that they've shown interest in

and that way you can generate more sales which is the bottom of your funnel

I'll now get to the next question from the comments I have a Facebook account I

do marketing to several companies how can I separate my payment builds for

Facebook all right oh I I do similar things as well I have I run Facebook ads

for a lot of my clients so ideally what I try and do is I get the client to

create their facebook business manager account and I do

an admin so when they create the account they add in the credit card details and

and then all I do is I run the ads and whenever there a payment needs to be

made it automatically gets debited from their account right or created from

their account now in case in your case if you can't do that and you're running

ads why are your personal account and you're paying for the ads and then the

client reimburses you for it oh there are a couple of things you can do the

the one then these are little hacky ways so the first thing you can do is have

separate accounts create separate accounts yourself for these businesses

and like two separate business manager accounts and you can add the credit

cards this would be a cleaner with a more happy way in case you've already

started with multiple grants and you have one account is you can use

something called Facebook tags now with all the campaign's that you create you

can add a tag to it so let's say if there was one company called ABC there's

another company called XYZ you add those as tags to these

campaigns so what happens is at the end of the month if you just filter by tag

all the campaigns I filter all the campaign's have done for ABC and I can

see the entire amount spent for that month in all the campaigns that have

been tagged with ABC and now you can simply charge your client for whatever

that value is but here this is a kind of an hacky way and you will have to add

tax but the mo cleaner way would be to either get your client to create

multiple data lines to create the accounts or you create separate business

accounts for each client and add their credit cards to it

well that's about it for this live video I I would like to know what you guys

thought about it you can leave it as comments below or you can reach out to

me on Instagram and we can have a one-on-one there I have linked my

Instagram account to to the card here at the top right of the video you can you

can click somewhere here and and reach me and we can discuss in case you have

any more questions you can write in comments and I will probably pick them

up for the next video and I'll see you there
