A NIETO

S

HOUSE HE HAS CANCELED TRIP TO

WASHINGTON.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP HAS

REPEATEDLY SAID MEXICO WILL PAY

FOR THE WALL.

BUT MEXICAN LEADERS OPPOSE IT

AND SAY THEY WON'T FINANCE IT.

ALSO TODAY, PROTESTS IN BOSTON.

DEMONSTRATORS DRESSED IN BLACK

MARCH THROUGH EAST BOSTON WITH A

BANNER READING A DAY WITHOUT

IMMIGRANTS A DAY AFTER PRESIDENT

TRUMP ANNOUNCED ORDERS AGAINST

UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS.

NEWSCENTER 5'S TODD KAZAKIEWICH

IS LIVE IN EASTON THIS NOON,

TODD?

TODD: THE PROTEST WAS PEACEFUL,

AND RELATIVELY BRIEF.

IT ENDED HERE AT THE MAVERICK T

STOP.

THE PROTESTORS SAY THEY'RE

FIGHTING FOR RECOGNITION, AND

ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS TO

IMMIGRATION ISSUES.

THIS MORNING, A MARCH THROUGH

THE STREETS OF EAST BOSTON,

PROTESTING PRESIDENT TRUMP'S

EXECUTIVE ORDERS ON ILLEGAL

IMMIGRATION.

THESE IMMIGRANTS INCLUDING SOME

WHO ARE UNDOCUMENTED HOLD A SIGN

WRITTEN IN SPANISH, READING 'A

DAY WITHOUT IMMIGRANTS', THEY

SAY IT'S NOT JUST A STATEMENT,

IT'S A CALL TO ACTION.

>> WE WANT TO CALL ON EVERY

COMMUNITY, EVERY IMMIGRANT

COMMUNITY TO STRIKE.

>> A DAY WITHOUT IMMIGRANTS

WOULD BE HORRIBLE FOR THIS

COUNTRY.

TODD: THE DEMONSTRATORS ARE PART

OF A NATIONAL MOVEMENT CALLED

COSECHA WHICH MEANS 'HARVEST' IN

SPANISH.

THE ISSUE OF IMMIGRATION IS

EXTREMELY PERSONAL FOR EACH

PROTESTOR.

>> APPROXIMATELY A YEAR AGO, MY

PATERNAL GRANDFATHER PASSED

AWAY, IT WAS A SMALL REMINDER OF

WHAT IT MEANT TO BE

UNDOCUMENTED

IT MEANT THAT MY OWN DAD

COULDN'T GO AND ATTEND HIS OWN

FATHER'S FUNERAL.

TODD: SKY 5 SHOWS THE START OF

THE PROTEST, ABOUT A DOZEN

PEOPLE HOLDING THE SIGN ON THE

FOOTBRIDGE ABOVE PARIS STREET,

AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE SUMNER

TUNNEL.

A SHORT TIME LATER, THEY'RE ON

THE MOVE, ALTHOUGH THEIR

PEACEFUL PROTEST FINISHED AT THE

MAVERICK T STATION, THEY SAY THE

MOVEMENT THEY'RE A PART OF ISN'T

GOING TO STOP.

>> THERE'S A RECOGNITION THAT

THIS COUNTRY DEPENDS ON

IMMIGRANT LABOR, DEPENDS ON

IMMIGRANT CONSUMPTION TO

FUNCTION AS A NATION.

TODD: THE SIGN THEY WERE

CARRYING A DAY WITHOUT

IMMIGRANTS IS A REFERENCE TO A

NATION-WIDE STRIKE BACK IN 2006.

AT THAT TIME, IMMIGRANT WORKERS

WALKED OFF THE JOB, AND

BOYCOTTED BUSINESSES.

THE PROTESTORS THIS MORNING ARE

CALLING FOR ANOTHER STRIKE

REPORTING LIVE IN EAST BOSTON,

TK, WCVB NC 5.

'Where does the money go?' - Duration: 6:00.

ABIGAIL: CONTINUING OUR

CONVERSATION ABOUT EDUCATION AND

THE BUDGET CRISIS WITH

SUPERINTENDENT AURORA LORA.

I GOT A QUESTION FROM A VIEWER

NAMED MARCUS AND HE WANTED TO

KNOW IF YOU HAVE BEEN TO EVERY

SCHOOL IN YOUR DISTRICT.

AURORA: I HAVE BEEN WORKING HERE

FOR TWO AND A HALF YEARS SO I

HAVE BEEN TO EVERY SCHOOL EVEN

MY FIRST YEAR WORKIN HERE.

I HAVE WORKED -- I AM WORKING

THROUG THE LIST AGAIN.

EVERYONE HAS SEEN ME.

ABIGAIL: WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO

DO THAT?

AURORA: YOU WANT TO GET OUT AND

GET T PULSE OF WHAT IS GOING

ON IN THE SCHOOL AND HOW THE

CHANGES WE ARE MAKING IMPACT

THEM.

I MAKE -- KEEP A LIST AND CHECK

THEM OFF AS I GO AND EVERY TIME

MAKE VISITS I TAKE MORE

SCHOOLS OFF THE LIST.

ABIGAIL: I WOULD THINK THAT

WOULD BE HARD TO DO GIVEN ALL

THE ADMINISTRATION AND BUDGET

WORK YOU HAVE TO DO BUT VISITING

WITH THE STUDENTS AND THE

TEACHERS.

THIS QUESTION CAME FROM MICHAEL

AND THIS IS A QUESTION A LOT OF

PEOPLE HAVE.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

I PAY A LOT OF SCHOOL TAXES.

AURORA: THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE

MONEY FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION GOES

INTO SALARY.

IT GOES INTO PAYING TEACHERS AND

SUPPORT STAFF AND PRINCIPLES AND

SO, WE DO NOT REALLY HAVE A TON

OF WIGGLE ROOM BECAUSE MOST OF

THE MONEY IS TIED UP IN

SALARIES.

ABIGAIL: THE NEXT QUESTION WAS

ABOUT STA QUESTION 779.

WHEN THAT FAILED, AND IT WOULD

HAVE GIVEN TEACHERS A PAY RAISE

YOU SAID, LET LAWMAKERS FIGURE

OUT HOW WE WILL GET IT DONE.

SHERRY SAID "A LOT OF PEOPLE

DIDN'T LIKE THAT SO MUCH OF THE

MONEY IN THE BILL WENT TO

ADMINISTRATIVE FEES, THAT'S WHAT

I BELIEVE NEEDS TO BE CUT

.

TEACHERS NEED THE RAISE."

AURORA: THE REALITY IS THAT WE

HA CUT SO MUCH IN TERMS OF

PUBLIC EDUCATION THA WE HAVE

GOT TO PAY TEACHERS MORE AND

FIND OTHER FUNDING TO PAY FOR

THINGS LIKE TEXTBOO,

ACTIVITIES, SPORTS, THOSE KIND

OF THINGS THAT WE WANT FOR OUR

KIDS.

IT IS NOT ACTUALLY JUST ENOUGH

TO FUND TEACHERS, WE ARE GOING

TO HAVE TO PAY THE SCHOOL

DISTRICT'S MORE TO BE ABLE TO

PROVIDE THEM WITH SUPPORT.

ABIGAIL: SOMETHING YOU SAID ON

THE TEACHER FOR A DAY DAY IS

TEACHERS DID NOT GET INTO THIS

TO BECOME MILLIONAIRES.

YOU SAID THEY ALSO NEED THE

SUPPORT THEM THE ITEMS THEY NEED

TO DO THEIR JOBS.

AURORA EXACTLY.

I THINK THAT IS ONE OF THE

THINGS WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT,

JUST GIVING TEACHERS A RAISE

WHILE CONTINUING TO C K-12

EDUCATION WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE

US TO HAVE TO INCREASE CLASS

SIZES AN CUT TEXTBOOKS AND

THOSE KINDS OF THINGS.

THOSE ARE THE SUPPORT TEACHERS

NEED TO MAKE THIS MANAGEABLE AND

MAKE THEM WANT TO STAY FOR THE

LONG TERM.

WE HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO FIND A

SOLUTION TO BOTH SIDES.

ABIGAIL: THIS ONE FROM CECELIA.

SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT WHY THERE

WASN'T A SUBSTITUTE.

SHE SAYS AFTER TAXES, SUBS MAKE

LIKE $50 SO IT IS NOT WORTH IT.

IS THERE SOMETHING YOU ARE

LOOKING INTO TO MAKE IT MORE

APPEALING TO BE A SUBSTITUTE.

I DID NOT REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT

IT IS TO HAVE A BANK OF

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS UNTIL THERE

WAS NOT ONE THE DAY I WAS IN THE

CLASSROOM.

AURORA: AT SOME POINT WE WOULD

BE -- LOVE TO BE ABLE TO RAISE

THE SALARY EVEN FOR SUBSTITUTE

TEACHERS, BUT WE CANNOT DO THAT

WHILE WE CONTINUE TO CUT.

I THINK THE SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

PA WAS SOMETHING WE CUT THIS

LAST YEAR AND IT MAKES IT

CHALLENGING, BUT WE DO NOT HAVE

TH FUNDS TO BE ABLE TO DO

EVERYTHING WE WANT.

ABIGAI I DID A FACEBOOK LIVE

YESTERDAY TO TALK ABOUT MY

EXPERIENCE AND ONE OF THE THINGS

SOMEONE WATCHING ASKED WAS WE

CAN SIT AND COMPLAIN ON RACE

BOOK ALL DAY LONG BUT THAT DOES

NOT HELP.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO MAKE A

DIFFERENCE?

AND THEY ASKED ABOUT

VOLUNTEERING.

CAN I MAKE A MONETARY DONATION,

WHAT CAN THEY DO?

AURORA: TWO GREAT THINGS PEOPLE

CAN DO RIGHT NOW IS THROUGH OUR

FOUNDATION YOU CAN MAKE A

DONATION T DONORS CHOOSE.OR.

THAT IS WHERE TEACHERS PUT UP

THINGS THEY NEED FOR CLASSROOMS

THAT THEY CANNOT AFFORD.

PEOPLE GO ONLINE AND DONATE TO A

SCHOOL IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD TO

HELP THEM PURCHASE SUPPLIES AND

MATERIALS THEY NEED.

WE ALSO HAVE O PRINCIPLES TO

PUT THINGS THAT THE ENTIRE

SCHOOL NEEDS ON THE WEBSITE,

WHIC IS PARTNERS IN ACTION.

THAT IS WHERE THEY ASK FOR

SCHOOLWIDE VOLUNTEERS.

PEOPLE SHOULD DEFINITELY LOOK ON

THOSE WEBSITES.

ABIGAI ONE OF THE THINGS MY

TEACHER MENTIONED IS HOW MUCH OF

HER OWN MONEY SHE SPENDS IN THE

CLASSROOM AND I ASKED HER, IS

THERE GOING TO BE A POINT WHERE

YOU SAY I HAVE SPENT ENOUGH?

SHE SAID SHE CROSSED THAT LINE A

LONG TIME AGO, BUT MY KIDS HAVE

TO HAVE THESE MATERIALS.

AN ORGANIZATION LIKE DONORS

CHOOSE OR IF PEOPLE VOLUNTEER

JUST FIVE DOLLARS A CAN HELP

BECAUSE WE -- WE KNO THEY DON'T

MAKE ENOUGH MONEY TO BE SPENDING

THEIR OWN SALARY ON THESE ITEMS.

AURORA ABSOLUTELY.

WHAT PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE IS IF

WE CONTINUE TO C PUBLIC

EDUCATION OUR TEACHERS ARE

CONTINUING TO TAKE MONEY OUT OF

THEIR O POCKETS AND THE

REALITY IS THEY DO NOT MAKE

ENOUGH TO FULLY FUND EVERYTHING

THEY NEED FOR THEIR CLASSROOMS.

THEY NEED TO HAVE A WAY TO

SUPPORT THEIR OWN FAMILIES AND

THAT IS WHY WE HAVE TO DO THE

JOB AND MAKE SURE THEY HAVE THE

SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS THEY

NEED.

ABIGAIL: THANK YOU FOR LETTING

ME PARTICIPATE.

IT GAVE ME A NEW PERSPECTIVE AS

I DELIVER THESE STORIES ABOUT

Lunar New Year 2017 Google Doodle. Happy Chinese New Year 2017 - Duration: 1:33.

With firecrackers, fried dumplings, and Fai Chun, today's Google Doodle welcomes the

year of the rooster.

A time of celebration with family and friends, Lunar New Year falls on the first new moon

between January 21 and February 20 each year.

While this means the date is always changing, the traditions surrounding the holiday have

long been the same.

Leading up to it, families often clean their homes to push out bad luck and make room for

good fortune.

Once New Year's Eve arrives, loved ones come together for a reunion dinner where poon

choi – a large dish packed with meat, fish, and vegetables – is often shared.

On New Year's Day, red decor and envelopes abound, while lion dancers, paper lanterns,

and fireworks fill the streets.

Legend has it that many of these traditions stem from fending off the Nian, a mythical

beast that would attack an ancient village each New Year's Day.

With the help of a mysterious old man, villagers soon learned that the creature was afraid

of the color red, as well as loud noises — and so the festivities began.

Although the Nian never did return, luckily the celebrations did.

Here's to health, happiness, and good fortune in the new year!

Papantonio: Defective Takata Airbags Linked to At Least 11 Deaths - Duration: 11:45.

Papantonio: Ever since the first automobiles in America hit the roads, the public has been

concerned about vehicle safely.

We've seen the inclusion of seat belts, backup cameras, blind spot sensors and all sorts

of bells and whistles, designed to keep us safer.

One of the biggest improvements, after seat belts, was the creation of air bags.

Air bags are designed to deploy upon impact with an object.

Computer sensors located throughout a vehicle send messages to one another, so fast that

the airbag can deploy in a split second after impact.

What millions of people on the road today don't realize is that their airbag might actually

be more of a time bomb, ready to fire shrapnel instead of a safety cushion.

The Takata Corporation is one of the largest manufacturers of airbags in the country.

They supply airbags to nearly every auto manufacturer around the globe.

Ford, General Motors, Land Rover, Tesla, Subaru, BMW, and just about everybody in between.

Every one of these car makers have now found themselves in the middle of the largest vehicle

recall in U.S. history because of faulty airbags supplied by Takata.

For years, Takata produced airbags using ammonium nitrate as a propellant to inflate and deploy

the airbag during a collision.

The problem is that the ammonium nitrate degrades over short periods of time, which then causes

the bag to detach from the brackets.

When the airbag deploys it shoots metal pieces of the bracket and the airbag housing forward,

creating metal shrapnel that flies at lethal speeds into a drivers head and chest.

So far, 11 people have been killed by Takata's deadly airbag shrapnel.

Those 11 people would almost certainly be alive today if the executives at Takata had

an ounce of decency in them.

According to the lawsuits that have been filed against Takata, executives from the company

were well aware of the problems that existed with their airbags, but they hid those dangers

from the manufacturers, in order to continue making obscene profits.

All told, this fraud netted the company more than a billion dollars.

It doesn't end with the company simply hiding the data, documents ... Those documents also

show that they falsified data, that showed that their airbag's weren't even properly

working.

In one line from the corporate document says it best.

It says, "They had no choice but to provide manipulated data", but of course, they did

have a choice.

They could have been honest.

They could have done the right thing, but instead they chose to continue making hundreds

of millions of dollars by manipulating the faulty data at the expense of 11 lives.

For more on the Takata coverup, lets go to David Haynes, an attorney with the Cochran

Firm who is representing plaintiffs in this case.

David, how about doing this ... Tell us exactly what the problem is with these Takata airbags.

Haynes: It is the ammonium nitrate, Mike, that you mentioned earlier, which is an unstable

compound.

Other airbag manufacturers had declined to use this cheaper product in their airbags

because they knew it was too dangerous.

Takata however, made a conscious decision to use this unstable, dangerous compound,

which can explode and cause metal shrapnel to deploy into the driver or the passenger.

They made a conscious decision to do this to save money and sell more airbags.

That is what's led to these terrible injuries, a number of deaths, 180 injuries or more and

the largest recall ever in United States history.

Papantonio: David, you've gone through the documents in this case, so what can you tell

us about the companies knowledge of these problems, long before they ever put the product

out there and then after it was out there, they started learning more.

Tell us the history of that if you would.

Haynes: That is probably the most distressing thing, is that the documents have revealed

that this was a very conscious decision.

Going all the way back to the late 1990's when Takata made the decision to use ammonium

nitrate.

They became aware that there were certain vulnerabilities of this unstable compound.

Particularly in areas that are more hot, or humid.

That's why we're seeing a lot of the injuries in the southeastern United States.

Essentially, the compound begins to degrade over time and when you are in an accident

or a crash, and the airbag deflates, the ammonium nitrate is too unstable and the airbag will

deploy at a very high rate.

Takata knew this.

They began to cover it up as early as 2000.

It's the same ole story, unfortunately, of executives overruling engineers who are raising

concerns.

In fact, we have evidence, documentary evidence, where they were XX'ing or double X'ing out,

is what they called it in the Takata culture.

That is, basically just deleting the negative references to the safety concerns.

Putting profit over people and just continuing to sell, sell, sell.

Let's not worry about the ticking time bombs that we're putting on the roads, all over

the world.

Papantonio: You know, we're seeing that more and more David.

It seems like it's constant.

A corporation goes after quick profits and they pass the risks on to the user of that

product.

This is a classic example.

In court filings, Takata employees said ... This is their words.

They had no choice but to move forward with manipulated data about these airbags.

In other words, they understood what was happening, but they're told they have no choice.

You reviewed the document, how do you read that into the history of this company?

Haynes: You know, they did have no choice if they wanted to continue to maintain market

share.

That's all they were worried about is market share.

If they were worried about safety, they had every opportunity and every choice to make

and do the right thing.

To stand up and never put this product on the market once it became clear, in their

internal testing, what the dangers were, they needed to switch it.

Many other manufacturers had looked at this and had passed on this compound.

This is the one manufacturer that did it.

They became the largest manufacturer, in large part, because they were under market and they

were able to under sell their competitors because this compound is an essential, a part

of the airbag deployment system.

They were able to provide a cheaper alternative because it was dangerous.

This is a conscious decision, just like the rear end Pinto, back in the 1970's.

It's a conscious decision to save money, make more money, even though you know injuries

are going to occur.

When we first began following this story several years ago, and the initial recalls started

to drip, drip, drip out, we knew that we would likely, ultimately end up here.

That's probably the most frustrating thing.

Imagine being one of the families of one of the 18 individuals, or the hundreds who were

injured.

When you come to find out that Takata knew that this was a problem and even in the last

several years, you weren't getting any help from the Federal Government in getting these

vehicles off the road until now, when it's a huge, large scale problem.

Biggest we've ever seen.

Papantonio: David, don't you expect to find, what we call, calculation documents?

That's where they say we're making a billion dollars a year, we're gonna hurt "X" number

of people.

We're going to kill "X" number of people, then they do the math and figure out they're

going to make more money by not saying anything, by not warning?

Those calculation documents, we see all the time in these types of cases.

My guess is you're gonna see them here.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, they're supposed to play a

role in vehicle recalls.

Since this is the largest recall we've ever seen, did the government do anything about

this problem before it just became something that they couldn't ignore any more?

Haynes: I have to say it's been very frustrating how slow the government response was.

They seemed to turn a blind eye to this when there were some ... These real red flags were

popping up several years ago, all over the country.

We had some voluntary recalls by a few limited manufacturers.

Takata was not stepping up and doing the right thing.

The government looked at it and didn't seem interested in it for some reason.

Then, we had very limited recalls, and then the deaths kept happening all over the country.

We saw gruesome scenes, one was even investigated because they thought it was a homicide.

The injuries from the shrapnel were so profound to the driver.

It took a lot for NHTSA to become aware.

Perhaps they just didn't want to try to get their arms around this because the scale is

just so large.

It's not until the last several months that they truly have understood what's going on.

One in six, practically of every vehicle on the road, currently has a defective Takata

airbag.

That's 42 million airbags, over 19 different manufacturers.

This is a huge public health problem and the government needed to intervene earlier, sadly.

Papantonio: David, people are going to be watching this show, trying to figure out if

they have one of these defective airbags in their car.

How can someone find out if their vehicle is one of those 40 million that have the Takata

airbags?

What do you tell them when they call up and somebody's been hurt?

Haynes: Absolutely.

They need to check to see if it's one of their own vehicles, or a loved one, or vehicle that

they're riding in.

Chances are, this month, they have been in a vehicle that's been recalled.

Your viewers should go to the NHTSA site which is SaferCar.gov.

Look for the "Search Recall" button.

Enter in the VIN from their vehicle and then they will be able to find out, whether in

fact, that vehicle has been recalled or not and be able to take the appropriate steps

to get the recall done.

Due to the mass scale, they're anticipating it's another two and a half years before this

recall will be completed, if then.

Papantonio: David, in opening, I mentioned the fact that when there's a defect ... When

the defect takes place, that shrapnel from the brackets, where it's supposed to be held,

actually blown into the face, and the head, and the chest of drivers.

Did I get that right?

Or, is that an overstatement on how serious this is.

Haynes: It's not an overstatement in any sense of the word, and unfortunately, it's very

gruesome facial, torso injuries.

As I mentioned, one police department was investigating this as a homicide initially,

because it looked so bad and so unusual.

Our highway patrolmen who are out there on the roads, did not know what was going on

with these airbag deployments.

Usually we see some dust and some powder from the airbag, but this is essentially the ammonium

nitrate destroys the metal canister.

It's essentially shrapnel that's going in a matter of inches at hundreds of miles an

hour, right into the driver or the passenger, causing very severe and permanent debilitating

injuries.

So, very scary and as we said, 18 deaths so far, tragically.

Papantonio: David, I've just got to ask this question.

Here we have people dying.

We have them horribly injured, people are dying, the company knew what was going to

happen.

There's no guess work here.

They understand exactly what they're doing.

Has anybody been charged here with any kind of criminal wrong doing?

What does it take to say to a CEO or somebody who made these decisions?

Listen buddy, you killed people.

This is not just negligence, this is ... You've crossed the line.

You have killed people.

What has ... Has the DOJ done anything?

Have they brought charges against anybody?

Haynes: Finally we've seen some action in the criminal arena here, but I have to say,

it's one count of wire fraud against Takata and the corporation, which they've agreed

to plead guilty to.

It really is more about money damages.

Three individual executives from Takata have been charged, but of course they are in Japan,

and I'm sure they've been advised not to travel to the United States certainly, or other countries

where we have extradition agreements.

It's very limited- Papantonio: David, just keep the pressure

on them.

Make them pay.

Make them pay and hopefully there will be some criminal charges here at some point.

Haynes: Will do it.

Top 5 Most Anticipated Nintendo Exclusive Games of 2017! - Duration: 7:59.

Hey guys, I'm Gabe Counts, and I've said this once and I'll say it again, I'm a PlayStation

person, meaning that 90% of the time I'll go for a PlayStation game over an Xbox, Nintendo,

or a PC game.

However, that doesn't mean that I completely ignore what Nintendo's been up to.

In fact, fun fact: I used to be a diehard Nintendo fan til I got my PlayStation 4.

And ever since Nintendo announced the Switch back in October, I became more and more interested

into what Nintendo was up to.

So without further ado, this is my top 5 most anticipated Nintendo exclusive games of 2017,

that are all coming to Nintendo Switch.

At number five, Splatoon 2.

I thought that they were going to be a simple port, but nope!

Developed by Nintendo's Entertainment Planning and Development department, this game at first

glance may look like a simple port of the original Splatoon game from the Wii U.

But if you look carefully, there are some noticeable changes here and there.

First off, it's clear that you can do a ton of different changes to your character.

Nintendo is advertising this game as a Esports title, so customizing your character and making

it truly your own is really important for an Esports title.

Another thing is the weapons.

The weapons are a little bit different than what we saw in the original Splatoon game,

so that's interesting.

Now in theory, Nintendo could have just simply patched it onto the original Splatoon game

and we would be done with it, but nope.

Nintendo has dedicated themselves into making a new Splatoon game, so it will be very interesting

to see.

There is a question about the longevity of this title, as Nintendo according to some

people have been very skippy on their kind of updates and whatnot, but since they are

dedicated to Splatoon as an Esports title, updating is going to be important for tournaments

and whatnot, so yeah.

I hope they do that and I can't wait to play Splatoon 2 if I get an Nintendo Switch.

At number four, Super Bomberman R. Wait...Bomberman is back?

Huh.

Wait, they've already shown it...yeah once at the presentation...okay!

Developed by Konami, this is one of the five launch titles that's going to be released

alongside the Nintendo Switch on March 3rd.

Now we haven't heard that much about Super Bomberman R up until this point, and I'm personally

very skeptical about Konami, who previously said that they are done making console games

after Metal Gear Solid V, but now they're making Metal Gear Survive and Super Bomberman

R, but oh well.

But as I grew up with Bomberman on the Nintendo 64, the fanboy in me is freaking out a little

bit becoming a little bit bias, so yeah.

Now in the one or two videos you might pick up on the internet, it's clear that they have

an emphasis on the multiplayer side of things, and rightfully so since Nintendo Switch can

be played as a multiplayer console.

But there is some single player aspects onto it, as they are emphasizing, so yeah.

That will be interesting to see, and hopefully, this will be a great Bomberman game and hopefully

this will be a return to form with Konami, but we'll just have to wait a couple of months.

At number three, Super Mario Odyssey.

Hm, so that was that Mario game that showed up in October.

Developed by Nintendo's EPD Tokyo, this game in the words of the father of Mario, Shigeru

Miyamoto, will take Mario back to the roots that made Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine

very popular.

Indeed after looking at the videos of Super Mario Odyssey, it looks a lot more open than

some of the older Mario games, as opposed to the past few Mario games that have really

focused on the completion and the platforming aspect of it, not the exploration.

Now of course people are going to joke about Mario becoming open world, in fact a lot of photos you

might see on the internet are about Mario becoming Grand Theft Auto, but the one thing

that really made me freak out a little bit and made me unsure about this was the end

of the trailer.

I stared into the void and the void stared back.

But jokes aside, this looks like it's going to be a very impressive title.

The past six Mario games have always been the same in my opinion, so a fresh take on

the IP is exactly what Mario needs, and I'll be having a close eye on this game once it

approaches the holiday season.

At number two, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

It's been so long, so long, and now we are at the home stretch.

Also developed by Nintendo EPD Tokyo, this game was originally announced back in E3 2014

as a Wii U title, and the biggest emphasis that they wanted to make on Breath of the

Wild is that this is an open world game, and that's important to consider because contrary

to popular belief, only one or two Legend of Zelda games have been really open world.

Games like Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess, all of which have been

stated to be open world, focused on rather the story and really locked you down on certain

key areas that you wanted to explore.

Say for instance, if you wanted to explore that, you had to wait until the story allows

it and not really see what the risk was, if that makes any sense, but who knows.

But with the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, they are removing all kind of restrictions

onto you, you are free to roam wherever you want to go.

If you want to go to the story, you can.

If you want to go somewhere before the story allows it, you can.

This looks like that it will be a true open world Legend of Zelda game, so yeah, looks very nice.

And after years of delays and no news and some news, we finally got the word that the

Legend of Zelda will not only be released on the Wii U, but will also be a launch title

for the Nintendo Switch, so with just two months left to go, I sure hope you don't disappoint

us Nintendo.

And at number one, the number one most anticipated Nintendo game on my list that's not formally

announced yet and it may ultimately be the only reason why I'll get an Nintendo Switch

is the upcoming Main Series Pokémon Game.

If you guys are veterans on this channel, you know that I have been huge on Pokémon

for a very very long time, and when word got out that Nintendo was making a Pokémon game

for Nintendo Switch, I blinked and immediately became interested in Nintendo Switch.

Now why do I say that this is going to be a main series game?

Well because of two reasons.

First reason, the sources.

According to Eurogamer, this Pokémon Nintendo Switch game is called Pokémon Stars and

will be the third version of Pokémon Sun and Moon that was released last year.

Now historically, there's always been third version of every main series game.

I mean, there's been Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, Gen V and VI was a little bit different

with Black 2 and White 2 and no third iteration at all on X and Y, but it makes a lot of sense

here with Sun and Moon and Stars, so yeah.

That sounds very logical.

And secondly, the developer who Nintendo has confirmed is working on the Pokémon Nintendo

Switch title, Game Freak.

Game Freak has always made a main series Pokémon game going back over twenty years ago with

Pokémon Red and Blue, so the developer alone is a good indication that this upcoming Pokémon

game on console will be a main series Pokémon game.

If that's true, then it's been a long time coming, since a lot of us have been wanting

to see a main series Pokémon game on console, and finally this is happening.

Now like I said, this game is not formally announced yet and with our luck it'll probably

be leaked like crazy by CoroCoro, but because of the hints and the implications, we might

see Pokémon Stars this year, if not then oh well.

But as I said, Pokémon is the only reason why I would follow Nintendo, in fact that's

the only reason why I have a Nintendo 3DS at this point, and if that's happening on

Nintendo Switch, then...take my money right now.

So that was it, that was my top 5 most anticipated Nintendo exclusive games of this year.

I hoped you all liked this video, put a like if you did.

OKCPS Superintendent talks about 'Teacher for a Day' challenge - Duration: 7:17.

KOCO 5 NEWS AT 9:00.

>> WALK A MILE IN OUR SHOES.

SEE WHAT IT'S LIKE IN AN

OKLAHOMA CLASSROOM AMID THE

MASSIVE BUDGET CUTS.

THAT WAS A CHALLENGE FROM

OKLAHOMA CITY PUBLIC SCHOOL

SUPERINTENDENT AURORA LORA.

SEVERAL OKLAHOMA LAWMAKERS AND

COMMUNITY LEADERS TOOK PART IN

THE TEACH FOR A DAY CHALLENGE.

WE ARE JOINED NOW BY OKCPS

SUPERINTENDENT AURORA LORA.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING

HERE.

AURORA: THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME.

ABIGAIL: THANK YOU FOR INVITING

ME TO TAKE PART IN THIS.

IT WAS EYE-OPENING.

AURORA: WE WERE SO MANY -- SO

EXCITED THAT SO MANY PEOPLE CAME

OUT TO BE TEACHER FOR A DAY.

WERE YOU SURPRISED SO MANY

LAWMAKERS TOOK PART?

AURORA: I WAS.

WE HAD A LOT OF PEOPLE COME

SPEND THE DAY WITH OUR TEACHERS.

ABIGAIL: I WAS IN A FIFTH-GRADE

CLASSROOM AND I OBSERVED A LOT

OF POSITIVE THINGS.

YOU WERE A HIGH SCHOOL BIOLOGY

TEACHER, WHAT DID YOU OBSERVE?

AURORA: I GOT TO SPEND TIME WITH

TEACHERS AND STUDENTS AT GRANT

HIGH SCHOOL AND REALLY LEARN

ABOUT THE THINGS WE CAN DO TO

MAKE OUR DISTRICT A BETTER PLACE

AND THEY ALSO TALKED ABOUT THE

CHALLENGES THEY HAVE HAD WITH

THE BUDGET AND WHAT THAT FEELS

LIKE AS A TEACHER AND A STUDENT.

ABIGAIL: ONE OF THE MAJOR

POSITIVES I TOOK AWAY BEING THE

STUDENTS AND THE TEACHERS AND

THE STAFF, JUST THE TEACHERS.

I WAS AT CESAR CHAVEZ ELEMENTARY

SCHOOL AND THEY WERE SO POSITIVE

AND EXCITED TO BE THERE.

THE TEACHERS -- WE ALL KNOW HOW

MUCH THEY MAKE.

THEY ARE NOT THERE TO GET RICH.

THEY ARE THERE WITH A MISSION IN

MIND.

I WAS IN MS. LEMON' CLASSROOM

AND IT WAS ENCOURAGING TO SEE

HER AND ALL OF THOSE STUDENTS

EAGER TO LEARN.

I LOVE THAT.

I DID NOTICE THINGS THAT WERE

CONCERNING.

WHEN WE WALKED IN, HALF OF THE

LIGHTS IN THE SCHOOL WERE TURNED

OFF TO SAVE MONEY.

THAT WAS SHOCKING TO ME.

AURORA: WE HAVE BEEN DOING A LOT

OF THINGS THIS YEAR TO REALLY

STRETCH EVERY PENNY AND THE

CHALLENGE BECOMES, WE ARE

THINKING THAT IF SOMETHING DOES

NOT CHANGE WE WILL HAVE TO CUT

FURTHER AND DO EVEN MORE TO SAVE

MONEY.

ABIGAIL: IN YOUR FIR MONTH AS

THE SUPERINTENDENT OF THE

LARGEST DISTRICT IN OUR STATE,

YOU HAD TO CUT $30 MILLION FROM

THE BUDGET?

AURORA: $30 MILLION MY FIRST

MONTH.

WE CLOSED SCHOOLS AND LAID OFF

HUNDREDS OF EMPLOYEES.

IT WAS A REALLY CHALLENGING TIME

AND IT HAS BEEN A CHALLENGING

YEAR.

ABIGAIL: ANOTHER CHALLENGE I

NOTICED IN THE CLASSROOM IS THAT

THERE WAS NO SUBSTITUTE

TEACHERS.

THERE WERE 8 TEACHERS OUT SICK,

SOME HORRIBLE STOMACH BUG AT THE

SCHOOL AND THE CLASSROOM I WAS

IN, SHE ALREADY HAD 26

FIFTH-GRADERS AND THEN SHE HAD 8

ON TOP OF THAT FROM ANOTHER

CLASSROOM BECAUSE THERE WAS NOT

ANOTHER SUB.

SO SHE HAD 35-34 STUDENTS AND

HALF OF THEM WERE NOT EVEN HERS.

WHY NO SUBSTITUTES?

AURORA: WE DO HAVE A POOL OF

SUBSTITUTES, BUT IT IS

CHALLENGING TO GET PEOPLE WANT

TO WORK IN SCHOOLS FOR A DAY

HERE AND THERE RANDOMLY AND SO

WE DO HAVE A POOL, BUT WHEN

THERE IS A HIGH NUMBER OF

SUBSTITUTES NEEDED FOR THE

DISTRICT, THAT IMPACTS IT AS

WELL.

ABIGAIL: HOW MUCH WOULD A

SUBSTITUTE MAKE?

IS IT WORTH THEIR TIME OR NOT A

LOT OF MONEY?

AURORA: I THINK EVERY AT -- AT

EVERY LEVEL, SUBSTITUTE

TEACHERS, TEACHERS, PRINCIPALS,

CAFETERIA WORKERS, EVERYONE

MAKES TOO LOW FOR THE WORK.

ABIGAI FAIR ENOUGH.

YOU MENTIONED THE TEXTBOOK

PURCHASES PART OF YOUR BUDGET

CUT.

WHEN I LOOKED IN THE DESKS,

THERE WERE NO TEXTBOOKS.

THEY HAVE NO TEXTBOOKS IN THERE.

AURORA: WE DID HAVE TO CANCEL

TEXTBOOK PURCHASES THIS LAST

YEAR.

WE WENT THROUGH A BIG RFP

PROCESS AND THE MONEY NEVER CAME

IN SO WE COULD NOT ORDER THEM.

WE HAVE OLDER TEXTBOOKS AT SOME

OF OUR SCHOOLS.

OUR KIDS NEED ACCESS TO NEW AND

UPDATED MATERIALS AND WE CANNOT

HAVE THAT IF WE ARE CONTINUING

TO CUT EDUCATION.

ABIGAIL: I BELIEVE IT WAS AN

OLDER HISTORY BOOK AND SHE SAID

IT WAS SO OUT OF DATE BUT SHE

DOES NOT EVEN CALL IT A

TEXTBOOK, SHE CALLS IT A RENT

FOR ITS -- REFERENCE MATERIAL.

HOW DO YOU TEACH WITHOUT A

TEXTBOOK?

THAT WAS MY MAIN THING WHEN I

WAS A STUDENT, MY TEXTBOOK.

HOW DO YOU DO THAT?

AURORA: WE HAVE TEXTBOOKS FOR

SOME SUBJECTS TREATED FOR AREAS

WHERE THINGS ARE OUT OF DATE WE

HAVE THE CURRICULUM DEPARTMENT

TRYING TO HELP SUGGEST LESSON

PLANS OR GIVE OTHER TYPES OF

CURRICULUM MATERIALS UNTIL WE

CAN PURCHASE NEW BOOKS AGAIN.

ABIGAIL: WE HAD A QUESTION FROM

A PARENT IF WE COULD.

-- BRING UP THE FULLSCREEN.

HOW OUR PARENTS SUPPOSED TO HELP

WITH HOMEWORK IF WE HAVE NOTHING

TO REFERENCE?

AURORA IT IS DEFINITELY A

CHALLENGE.

THIS IS A REALLY HARD TIME AND

THIS IS WHY WE ABSOLUTELY NEED

TO INVEST IN PUBLIC EDUCATION SO

SCHOOLS CAN HAVE THE RESOURCES

THEY NEED.

ABIGAIL: AND THAT IS WHY YOU

INVITED LAWMAKERS AND

LEGISLATORS BEFORE THE SESSION

BEGINS SO THEY CAN WITNESS

FIRSTHAND WHAT WAS GOING ON

HERE.

WHAT WAS SOME OF THE FEEDBACK HE

RECEIVED FROM LAWMAKERS

?

WERE THEY SHOCKED TO SEE NO

TEXTBOOKS?

WHAT DID YOU HEAR BACK?

AURORA: ONE OF THE THINGS WE

HEARD FROM LAWMAKERS IS PEOPLE

ARE IMPRESSED HOW HARD THE

EMPLOYEE'S WORK.

TEACHERS ARE NOT IN IT FOR THE

MONEY, BUT THIS IS CHALLENGING

WORK AND CLASS SIZES ARE LARGE.

THAT IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST

CHALLENGES, HOW DO TEACHERS

MANAGE THIS MUCH WORK AND THIS

MANY STUDENTS WITHOUT ADEQUATE

RESOURCES?

ABIGAI AT ONE POINT -- THERE

WAS A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER MISSING

AND SHE HAD AN EXTRA 8 STUDENTS,

BUT SHE WAS TRYING TO HELP A

LITTLE BOY WHO WAS IN ENGLISH AS

A SECOND LANGUAGE STUDENT, BUT

EVERY 15 SECONDS SHE HAD SOMEONE

SAYING THEY NEEDED TO GO TO THE

BATHROOM OR GET A DRINK OF WATER

OR FINISHED THEIR BOOK AND SHE

WAS SO PATIENT AND REMAINED

CALM.

I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY HER ABILITY

TO CONTROL THE CLASSROOM.

IT WAS A LOT OF STUDENTS AND I

THINK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN

OVERWHELMING.

AS SOMEONE LIKE YOU, YOU HAVE

YOUR MASTERS IN EDUCATION POLICY

AND MANAGEMENT FROM HARVARD, IF

YOU WERE RUNNING THE SHOW HERE,

HOW DO WE FIX THE PROBLEM?

AURORA: BIG PICTURE, WE ARE

GOING TO HAVE TO COME UP WITH

NEW REVENUE.

THERE IS NOT ENOUGH MONEY TO GO

AROUND AND RIGHT NOW SCHOOLS

HAVE DONE SUCH -- SO MUCH

CREATIVE WORK CUTTING AND

STRETCHING DOLLARS, BUT WE

CANNOT CONTINUE TO RAISE CLASS

SIZES AND CANCEL TEXTBOOKS.

KIDS ARE OUR FUTURE FOR OKLAHOMA

AND WE HAVE TO INVEST IN THEM.

Microwave Oven - How does a Microwave Cook Food - Duration: 3:05.

A microwave oven commonly referred to as a microwave is a kitchen appliance that heats

and cooks food by exposing it to microwave radiation in the electromagnetic spectrum.

This induces polar molecules in the food to rotate and produce thermal energy in a process

known as dielectric heating.

In this video I will go to show you how a microwave works.

The invention of the microwave is a fantastically simple concept.

Microwaves have a frequency that can penetrated water, fat, and sugar molecules and excite

them.

For a molecule to be excited the electrons "orbiting" the nucleus have to jump up energy

levels.

When this occurs the atom starts to vibrate faster than normal.

When this happens in a glass of water for example, all the atoms that make up water

start to move and run into each other and create friction.

When friction is created energy is given off in the form of heat.

So if microwaves can excite the molecules in a substance and create heat, why not use

them to cook food?!

And that, is how a microwave works.

There is a devise inside the oven that is the source of the microwave radiation call

a magnetron.

The waves than travel to the oven cavity through the wave guide and mode stirrer.

The waves penetrate the food and excite the molecules.

This is why the food heats from the inside out!

Because the waves are literally creating heat on the atomic level of the food which in turns

cooks the item inside out.

But if a microwave cooks from the inside out, how come sometimes your food is cold in the

middle?

This is because, depending on the quantity of food you want to heat up, the microwaves

cannot penetrate completely to the center.

For example a bowl of corn.

Lets say you heat the corn up for 3 minutes but it's still could in the center.

If you take it out and stir it, allowing the cold corn to get on the top, the microwaves

will be able to penetrate the atoms and excite them and creat heat.

So how come if you warm up a piece of pizza in the microwave for a longer than necessary

period of time only some parts of the pizza burn?

This is caused by the idea of "hot spots."

Hot spots form because a microwave is sinusoidal, so it has peaks and valleys.

Because of this the microwaves cannot excite all of the atoms at once.

The results are hot and cold spots in the microwave.

The picture on the right shows how microwaves look in a microwave after they have reflected

of the oven walls for a period of time.

The peaks and valleys represent the hot spots and the flat areas represent the cold spots.

This occurs because the peaks and valleys have a stronger intensity and excite the atoms

more quickly than the flat spots.

Thanks for watching this video.

Heating.

☯ How to Safely Whiten Laundry or Oxi Hit by Company TianDe - Duration: 8:20.

Hello!

My name is Larisa Levinskaya.

Today we will talk about this

an important point for any hostess

How to whiten white clothes.

A lot of effort

spent on it, especially

during the summer,

When the white wardrobe

It is practically our entire wardrobe

of white flowers.

That usually use?

Someone is using bleaching agents,

someone uses special

powders designed

for white linen.

Someone also as I

uses Oxi Hit.

Natural oxygen bleach

company TianDe.

Its action is based on

active oxygen.

Anyone vaguely familiar

with chemistry, understands that this is the

the strongest, most powerful and at the same

the safest time to bleach

This is exactly the active oxygen

No bleaching powder it beats

on the effects.

A practical example.

All mistresses know

After underwear

bleached, white

It is enough to just a few

washing in a washing machine

and underwear takes on

such a nasty srovato-pink

shade.

Now I will demonstrate

with any problem I encountered.

But in this case I

intentionally brought t-shirt

This is such a terrible state.

When she is not completely white,

a gray-pink shade.

Demonstrate the difference in the shades

It is by comparing

the most usual sheet

A4 paper.

I think the difference you see, huh?

I intentionally complicated work

bleach to Oxi Hit.

I hope I'm even sure he

This work perfectly.

So if you are interested to watch

the end of my experiment,

gain patience

and stay with me

by the end of this video.

What am I going to do?

First, I use

enameled pot

Again, I have it far from ideal

inside, not snow-white.

Thus, I decide two

problem. At the same time otbelivaju

linen and at the same time

I clean the inside

the surface of the pan.

I strongly advise you to also

when used Oxi Hit

You probably notice eventually,

that the straps on your

bra, on the favorite

Your bra purchase

serovatny unwanted shade.

Especially if you are a lover of

white linen.

One rub, use

aggressive means

not recommended for such

delicate items.

Use bleach that

based on bleach,

optical brighteners

also not very good.

But it Oxi Hit you in the help!

You'll see how to quickly clean your

favorite underwear

with such problems.

I poured the water, most ordinary water.

One could, of course, pour less

Since the volume of T-shirts at all the same there.

I turn on the gas.

And I leave the water to heat up

to reflux.

Stay with me!

Literally, in 15 minutes

We continue this experiment.

Thus, it took 15 minutes.

Water brought to boiling pot

and even already in full swing.

It's time to take

for bleaching linen.

In this volume of the pot I

I will use more Oxi Hit.

This one spoon.

Jar is already ending.

Well, almost two spoons.

Two spoons Oxi Hit.

I place. The reaction of this pretty

Activity: bubbling, hissing.

You may even hear it.

I put this wonderful T-shirt.

The miracle, of course, in quotes

in the pan.

However, since the volume in large pan,

and we are all very thrifty housewife.

It is impossible to transfer an amount

precious Oxi Hit

just one T-shirt!

Therefore, in addition to T-shirts

I have put here

favorite spa mitten,

which also needs

in eliminating superfluous spots,

cleaning.

On the surface of such a foam,

almost as if whipping

proteins with sugar.

Also in this pan

I will try to put,

at least, I hope,

it's my turn.

Here's a T-shirt

Perhaps you, too, have, is,

so that even after use

washing powders,

with time on your favorite T-shirt,

you wear under a sweater,

eg,

underarms are

circles, spots remain.

That is almost impossible to remove!

A bit overdone, I

with water.

But now something will try to do.

Who is going to put neatly.

To make it not boring to watch

by this process.

I'll tell you what dangerous

chlorine bleaches.

You probably noticed,

maybe you had after

the usual three rinses

omit the washed linen

in pure water.

And notice that the water

It appears that foam in water.

Scientists have noticed long ago that

even after 10 rinses

still washing powder

do not rinse completely

of clothing fabric.

But the chlorine bleach

it is also

tissue remains in our clothing.

And all the while, until we wear it, chlorine

imperceptibly, as a silent enemy

It acts on our skin.

This is so neat, I still put.

That's it!

But still, of course, a great desire I have

place here, as I said,

undergarment

namely Bra.

I think I will succeed.

Refurbish it, remove the grayish hue

on the straps. And again back

a chlorine-free laundry.

And all this beauty, all this chlorine

It remains in the tissue

and acts on our skin,

and eventually leads to osteoporosis

a whole range of different

unpleasant diseases,

which do not occur instantaneously,

Of course, as with age,

over the years. That will be enough.

Pan is also not able to accommodate

all I would like to bleach and wash,

lead spot, but let this

we will end up adding to the pot.

I'm covering it with a lid.

I leave it for 15 minutes.

On 15 - 20 minutes.

Then I come back and we compare results

What will be the T-shirt. I will show you

What will the water in the pan

after applying Oxi Hit.

on our things.

Thus, it took 20 minutes

it's time to take off the lid of the pan

And assess what we've got

with a T-shirt. The water temperature is, of course,

It will not allow me to squeeze it.

Therefore, I simply will draw,

cooled down, rinse.

At the end of the video to make a comparison

between the T-shirt to use

bleach Oxi Hit

and after use

bleach Oxi Hit.

Likewise, will draw

Spa mitten.

With it easier to navigate

no stains!

Also, everything else will pull

I want to show you some water color.

As I promised.

Of course, when you are at home

in normal circumstances

do the same experiments.

Which I did today,

should hold more than 20 minutes.

Nothing wrong with your underwear

it doesn`t happen.

Rinse with warm water only.

No chlorine smell!

Absolutely!

Now I will pour waters.

Well first, you see, this color

ecru.

I pour waters.

And, voila!

Certainly, you can assess the condition

pots inside after

Use Oxi Hit.

Water is, by the way, do not pour.

You can while it's hot

used for cleaning baths,

for cleaning a toilet surface.

Gender wash, at worst, can also be

this waters. And then

rinse with clean water.

Leave your comment

What tools do you use for

for bleaching linen

in their daily lives.

I would be interested to read your comments.

I hope that today's video

Lunar New Year 2017 Hong Kong Taiwan China January 27 2017 Google Doodles Lunar New Years 2017 - Duration: 5:19.

Today's Doodle celebrates Lunar New Year 2017 (Hong Kong, Taiwan, China)

With firecrackers, fried dumplings, and Fai Chun, today's Doodle welcomes the year of

the rooster.

For Chinese, in China and in ethnic communities around the world, the lunar new year is the

most important and most festive holiday of the year.

Through centuries of China's agrarian tradition, this was the one period when farmers could

rest from their work in the fields.

Family members from near and far would travel to be with loved ones in time to usher out

the old year and welcome in the new, with great celebratory flourish.

With a calendar dating from the third millennium BCE, the Chinese people have for thousands

of years been building on ancient customs of New Year celebrations.

Although they may vary from region to region, village to village, and even family to family

according to social position, many of these customs are still observed.

Today, all over China, during what is now commonly referred to as the Spring Festival,

flurry of business selling gifts, new clothes, and festive foods; kitchens are bustling with

preparations for elaborate feasts; and streets are filled with the sounds of firecrackers

and seasonal greetings.
