VW Touareg 2019 فولكس فاجن طوارق - Duration: 12:59.

May peace be upon you

Special Coverage episode today is in Salzburg, Austria

To test-drive the all new 2019 Volkswage Touareg now in its third generation

Stay with us in this coverage! Let's go!

VW Touareg is considered a successful model for the company

with a total sales of more than 1 million cars since it was launched

So the car is already popular and it has proven itself

The new third generation is coming strongly

The guys have developed it to make their product more competent

The car is an SUV multipurpose vehicle

You can use it for Off-roading

A high vehicle with an attractive design

and it has a lot of features

Now in its third generation what was their main focus?

They presented a luxurious car with a lot of optional features

As they want to compete against the German cars

The car is available in 3 trim levels

Atmosphere, Elegance, and R-Line

R-Line, as we all know is the sporty version

Regarding Atmosphere and Elegance; how are they different from each other?

and from the R-Line

The difference is all about colors and upholstery

Aluminium, Piano Black , wood, shades of colors

These are the differences between trim levels

Wheels sizes range from 18 to 21 inches

The most prominent exterior feature is the LED Matrix headlights

Frankly speaking, they created a radical change to the car looks

The car looks much better than the previous generation

Space in the back seats is excellent

The car size is excellent for a family car

Here is a middle-seat armrest, cup holders

and you can control climate zones on the right and left

There are air vents here and on the pillars too

Roof handles, lights!

There is a sound system here and sunshades on both sides

for more privacy!

We can see the use of Aluminium, Piano Black, and high quality materials

The new Touareg's interior...

at the first glance you will notice a difference from the previous generation

The guys paid a special attention to luxury regarding stitching , leather, metals

Check the gearbox it feels like you're in an airplane

The volume control button is really beautiful and luxurious

So the guys have done well in this aspect

One of the things I liked the most in the car is the giant touchscreen

This giant touchscreen is 15 inch

and the other display in front of the driver is 12 inch

Via this touchscreen you can control many of the car's features

Navigation, radio... Very simple , just like using your smartphone

If you slide it right , it goes right and there is a button in the middle

If you press it it opens the menu, just like an iPhone

These are powered seats , with massage function. Heated and ventilated

About air conditioning , there are 2 climate zones in the front and 2 in the back

They added all the comfort feature they could into this car

You can order the car with a panoramic sunroof

And there is a 14 speaker sound system with a power output of 730 watts

The luggage compartment is 810 liters and you can fold the backseats to increase capacity

Touareg is available with 5 seats

If you want 7 seats...

They advise you to buy a Teramont with 7 seats

Let's talk about the mechanical specifications

Now I'm driving a diesel- powered version

This is the first test-drive worldwide so all the cars manufactured are diesel powered

This car has a 3.0L V6 generating 286 hp

but a V6 petrol engine will be available soon

and by the end of the year a V8 version will be available

All engines will be connected to ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox

All versions come with all-wheel drive as standard

We all know that they pay attention to Touareg's abilities regarding towing and off-roading

these are important aspects to them

The car is equipped with air suspension system the same as the previuos

you can raise it up or lower it down

Now automatically, via air suspension and the computer

it controls the height of the vehicle according to the driving mode you choose

The driving modes include 'Eco' for better mileage

"'Comfort' for optimized comfort

'Normal' which is standard

'Sport' for sporty performance

'Individual, where you chose the settings you want

There is also 'Off-road" mode and 'Snow' mode

While on 'Off-road" mode there are two levels

the car is risen 25 mm higher in the first level

and the maximum height is 70 mm

and if you choose "Sport" mode the car will be lowered to improve aerodynamics

the car will automatically be lowered by 15 mm to improve stability and aerodynamics

Now, if you tow a trailer or something...

the car will automatically be lowered by 40 mm for better control and safety

when you tow trailers

One of the new systems VW used to improve the vehicles performance

is all-wheel steering

The rear wheels are turned to the right and left according to the car's speed

Below 37 km/h, the rear wheels automatically turn in a direction opposite to that of the front wheels.

which makes the vehicle more agile and reduce the turning circle of the car

When the speed is above 37 km/h

The rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels

but with a narrow angle

This makes cornering smoother with better stability

It's not a sport car, of course but it's better than before

There are also anti-roll bars which distribute the weight to improve stability

they work with the smart adaptive chassis to balance the car weight

if the car starts to sway they move weight to the other side

to improve stability

Regarding weight, the car is 106 kg lighter than the previous generation

and at the same time the car became more rigid than before

The car's body construction included aluminum to reduce weight

The car's platform is also used in Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga, and Porsche Cayenne

All 4 cars use the same platform

The car is equipped with many systems, which include..

Adaptive Cruise Control, 360° Cameras

The radars react to the traffic ahead of you according to speed

in case of emergency it intervenes and stops the car

There are sensors in the front and in the back

So this makes it easier for the driver from all angles

The car is also equipped with Night Vision

The driver doesn't have to focus, the system makes it easier to spot people at night

The car is equipped with 'IQ.Light" technology

The radar reads the road lines, etc..

Let's say there was a small kid on the side of the road riding his bicycle

The 'IQ.Light - LED matrix headlights' illuminates the kid by a brief flash,

to make them even more visible to the driver

In my opinion, this is a great feature! as it provides better safety.

If you're tired at night going home after a long day at work

This system makes it easier for you, it's a great safety feature!

One of the features I liked the most

Driving assistance systems also include; Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Detection

They equipped this car with all the safety features you'd ask for

The car also has a Head-up Display which shows your speed, and the speed limit

with navigation settings, etc..

We reached the final part my opinion of VW Touareg in its all new 3rd generation

The car is more beautiful now , more luxurious with better comfort , technology and safety features

But the main factor to determine the success of VW Touareg in our region is the price

Price plays a big role in the success or failure of the car in our region

The car is expected to hit Middle East markets by the end of June 2018

Now, why is price so important?

Because if the car is expensive, any customer can buy Audi Q7 instead or Porsche Cayenne

and those cars are from a higher category than VW Touareg

So he can pay a little extra to buy a car from a luxury brand

Is the car luxurious? Yes, it is Does it have enough features? Yes, it does

The car has 5 seats, but it's more expensive than VW Teramont (7-seater)

Positioning is very important, dear VW!

If you want to watch a test drive of VW Teramont which will come to our region soon

the 7-seater

even before we could think 'Oh this sounds good!'

we would get feedback like ' What if we change the singer?'

sometimes even you two should be changed!'

At least once in our lifetime we all would have definitely fallen in love

Easy Grow Kitchen Herbs Tutorial - Duration: 6:14.

If you're like me, you would love to have more useful plants growing in your living

space, but you're limited on the amount of space and resources you have.

So today I'm going to show you a couple of easy herbs to grow in your kitchen or on

your porch, and give you a few tips for caring for them!

General tips to start you off: Firstly, you're going to want to get a good quality potting

soil.

If you're starting your plants from seed, look for something that's specifically intended

for seed starting.

For herbs, you're going to want something that drains extremely well.

You can accomplish this by mixing sand or perlite in with your potting soil, ensuring

your container has enough draining holes, and putting gravel below the soil.

Basil is a wonderfully versatile and useful kitchen herb.

Scientific name Ocimum basilicum, it is in the mint family, Lamiaceae, and likes warmth

and well draining soil.

For container planting, you'll want to choose a dwarf variety, like Pistou, Purple Bush,

Minette or Boxwood.

Of these, Purple Bush is most tolerant of cold, so if you're growing in a chilly kitchen

window, that might be your best choice.

If you'd like to bring your basil outside, make sure you wait until it's at least 50

F at night.

Pinch off flowers to encourage more leaf growth, and pick leaves at your leisure for cooking!

These little seedlings are a sweet basil variety, that I started a couple of months ago while

the weather was still cold, and I was desperate to plant something.

I've got them in a nice big pot with gravel at the bottom, and organic potting soil that

has some perlite mixed in.

I'm also saving some seedling to put in my community gardening plot later this month.

This next plant is a little off-beat, but I am a huge fan.

Lemon balm, scientific name Melissa officinalis, is in the mint family, Lamiaceae.

It gets its name because of its lemony taste, and it's useful for a lot of things.

The dried leaves can be used in tea, and the fresh leaves can be used in salads.

Lemon balm is a prolific grower, and you'll want to pick the young leaves before it flowers.

It's a perennial, so it will come back year after year.

It grows well with partial sun.

Chives are closely related to garlic, onions, shallots and scallions.

They grow from bulbs, and the stalks, called scapes, are popular in cooking.

In containers, they need lots of space, so don't crowd them, and give them a nice deep

pot.

Unlike some of the other herbs I'm covering, chives really benefit from fertilizing.

You'll want to make sure their initial soil is rich in compost, but still drains well,

and treat the plants with a nitrogen-rich fertilizer, like fish emulsion.

You can grow either garlic chives or onion chives.

Their names reflect their tastes, and both are equally easy to grow.

You'll want to grow them from bulbs or seeds, and they're a perennial.

Kept inside, the bulbs will regrow through the winter, providing you with tasty fresh

chives year-round.

Scientific name Rosmarinus officinalis, Rosemary is unique compared to the other herbs I've

discussed, because it is an evergreen.

It has woody stems, and compact, waxy leaves evolved for keeping in moisture.

The plant originated in the mediterranean region, and needs good drainage, and the soil

should be allowed to dry out slightly between waterings.

Give the plant plenty of sun, and increase the pot size every year as it grows.

It's easiest to grow from a store-bought plant or cutting, as the seeds are difficult

to germinate.

When choosing a variety, trailing varieties like Santa Barbara or Huntington Carpet make

great hanging baskets.

The variety Blue Boy is great for window sills.

Harvest stems by clipping them off, and use the leaves or stems in cooking.

The flowers are also great for salads!

While I'd argue that all of the plants I'm discussing are beautiful, this last one is

particularly so: Violas and pansies.

These colorful flowers thrive in cooler weather, so they're great for the spring.

What's wonderful is that their flowers are edible!

They're a great colorful addition to salads, or you can candy the blooms with sugar.

Grow these in rich, moist soil with partial shade.

If you're buying grown plants, look for ones with lots of buds.

Be sure to deadhead flowers, aka cut off wilting flowers and don't allow seeds to form.

This will help the plant keep producing more flowers.

Those gorgeous flowers can then be clipped off, and used as a colorful addition to salads,

or candied and used to adorn things like cupcakes.

I would also add that if you're planning on growing these for consumption, be mindful

of where you purchase plants.

Many nurseries will douse plants in pesticides, and you don't want those on plants you'll

be eating.

This is true for all edible plants, but as violas are often used as decorative plants,

be particularly careful.

And look for species like Viola tricolor and Viola x wittrockiana, which are safe to eat.

African violets, despite the name, are not true violets and should not be consumed.

Those are just a few plant possibilities to get you started!

There are literally hundreds of varieties out there for you to try.

Check out some of the resources in the description for more in-depth info.

This year I'm also growing calendula and catnip!

But in summary, you're going to need some containers with drainage holes, highly quality

soil with added sand or perlite to help with drainage, and your plants or seeds of choice.

Put them in a sunny window, and remember to prune them as needed.

You'll have a flourishing stock of fresh herbs in no time!

I'd love to see what herbs you have growing at home!

Tag me in photos over on instagram and twitter, I'm @brilliantbotany on both.

20% of the proceeds from the sale of these shirts will go to Project Q, a really amazing

organization that provides identity affirming haircuts to queer, homeless youth.

And then the rest will support the work I do on Brilliant Botany, bringing science resources,

attending festivals and bringing you all sorts of accessible plant science information.

You can check those out at the link in the description, or on the screen.

CONSTRUCTION CHANNEL | THE FIELD | VESTA | E1 - Duration: 11:30.

I'm the BL Harbert project manager for the project known as Vesta.

We are building a 3 building project that, for us lasts about 18 months.

We started in August in 2017 and right now our completion date is February of 2019.

Basically we got a year from now to turn over the tower portion of our scope of

work and a parking deck complete and then Cortland Partners which is the

other part of our relationship out here they've got the mid-rise building that

they're taking from the caissons that we installed all the way through the finishes.

I am the superintendent, job-site superintendent for BL Harbert.

This is the Vesta project

and we are in week number 42 and

we are still in the caisson business, drilling caissons which is lasting probably twice

as long the first anticipated.

I guess the biggest challenges that we've had is

the amount of rock that we are finding that the

geotech report did not show all of in

I'm Cody Jennings with Russo Corporation.

Our particular aspect of this project is to put in the drill shafts which is the major foundation for

larger structures. We've been here for about six months putting in our drill shafts

Drill shaft is also called a drill pier.

If you think of like a pier

that a boat pulls up to

it's the same principle except we make ours out of concrete.

Basically we start off with a giant drill bit

that's basically what we do.

and we drill into the dirt and as we go down

as the material becomes unstable

due to water or soil conditions we'll put a giant caisson in there which is a pipe.

Everybody's been working together well it's been a challenging project due

to the change in the geology of the of the pad we went from some easy drilling

to some pretty difficult drilling which has impacts on schedule and

of course costs.

On a good day it with these deeper shafts we can get one to two a day

with going down to 70 feet if we have to use the wet method with using a pump

truck that we have here it can take some time.

Drill shafts are the unsung hero of the project

because without our drill shafts with our foundation you know

nothing else can be put on top of it so it's it's it's a critical factor and it

folks don't ever see it but they'll know it's there when the building stays put

on a tight job like this usually we're the first ones that come in so we have

you know a whole lot of room but as you see we've got we finished the tower and

the other contractors in there putting the tower on top of our foundation so we

have to move to other portions of the job well there's only so much space on

the site and as more and more subcontractors come in it gets tighter

and tighter with our material.

Everything that you see from the wall line over

here to the west is everything that has to do with the caissons

it's well that's just it it's hard it's hard to overcome that but you have to

work with the situation that they're in because it is a bunch of unforeseen rock

by below ground.

We just have to have to work together...

So my title is project engineer.

basically that's a little bit of everything

kind of like a assistant superintendent at times.

At times, you know I'm unloading trucks

Today, I'll be doing little bit of layout with my robotic total station.

I've got I've got to raise my stuff on the rope cause

for safety,

we can't break three points of contact on the ladder

and - they did have a rope that went from one to three but it

looks like somebody took that up

So, this is a rinse and repeat deal

now that we got all the way up here we've got to go all the way back down

there where the orange triangle is.

So, we've got to climb back back down.

We're going on the 4th floor that's where we had some post tension cables to break and it's a

real issue when that happens because it slows the job down it's very costly to

repair and it all boils down to when the concrete was being placed it was not

vibrated properly around the post tensioning heads

Hey man!

What's up Mr. Brooks?

Can we come through?

All right all right.

This is the dead end of the post tensioning cable that I was

talking about. If it's vibrated well it stays in place and we pull the pull the

cable no problem concrete was not vibrated around this

one well it started to move broke this top ear off of this dead end and broke

this top ear off which caused it to go down which put the table in a bind

therefore breaking the cable.

See right up here? Stand back around this side you

can see the other heads it's up there they're still in place

That cable still in place

has tension on it we're about get the tension off of it so we can

replace the head which that one is broke in the same manner that system is broken

and you see if we have to chip out all the concrete around it which is very

time-consuming very labor-intensive to be able to make the repair

Flow of the project is important because you line up materials and equipment and

flow of work that goes from one stage to the next and what this tensioning

problem has caused us break our flow

right now we're on a cycle where we're

pouring a slab about every five to seven days and so material from one pour has

to go to the other one or it goes up to get ready for another pour.

and so what this has done

is it slowed us down to where we don't have the material that we

would take from the bottom of the fourth floor slab and reuse it elsewhere and

preparing the four first pour of the fifth floor

B-R-5-4-9

sorry

Did I mess you up?

6-3-2-4-9

Are you on the mid-rise? Or are you in the tower?

I could be anywhere

where are you?

So we're here at Vesta this morning, we're just trying to unload this rebar truck

we've got so much stuff on site that we had to get this boom truck in here

just to unload it

this week's been kind of you know the rains been been coming in and you know

it's been kind of ominous all week we've had a you know a bunch of cloud cover

Sun-shining today we got we got our waterproofers out here

finishing their lift on the wall the retaining wall on the mid-rise so we're

starting up of a ton of stuff here in the next month as far as interior

build-out on the high-rise the exterior skin is about to start going on we've got the

the framing and then the windows and glazing going on the exterior of the

high-rise and then after that will mark when Cortland can come in and

start doing the interior build out with with our framers.

No I've left Cody

alone this week I hadn't had to bother him for anything so we don't know how

much time Cody's got left. Lord knows.

Right now we're in my

this is my office, my world this is our on-site construction office

We built this from scratch out of 8 x 20 connex.

it gives us somewhere to have our

documents to on-site construction documents

it's it's insulated so

it gets cold and gets hot I got an air conditioner and I got a little plug-in heater

but right now it's just my office slash lunch break area for the guys

Right now we've got a down to one drill rig we've removed one since last

time we talked because the job is contracting on itself

one crane and a excavator

a little skid steer to help move the dirt we call spoils

and an air compressor

and that's it guys to chuggin along.

Well I'm a I'm actually a third

generation a caisson driller drill shaft guy a great uncle got my dad my uncle

into it and my dad sent me to the University Alabama I got a degree but I

decided I want to come out here and make some good good money and so I went back

into the family business

so the logic up there after the gypcrete is down two days.

what do you want after that?

In a perfect world we would pour on a Friday and the weekends back on

it on Monday

We start the incident door trim two days afterwards

because it's going to be a couple weeks to do what we do the LVT

we can go ahead and final paint your ceilings we can go ahead and final paint

your closets so that that would allow your mechanical guy to go ahead and come

in and your electrician and they could be putting their vents in

so we can cut you some days right there as we're going through.

today's meeting was really to sit down

and try to plan on how we're gonna finish the job the big part of meeting

today was to sit down with a key contractor Cortland Services who's got a

lot of scope of work and say can we compress when we condense can we overlap

your scope of work so that we can better refine our plan to tell the owner how

we're gonna finish the project

we are excited about what we're doing we've had

a lot of weather here lately I mean it rained a lot this winter so far.

we can't control that.

we can't control the impact that those weather days have on so what

we can control is do we have the right plan we have the right logic or the

Are the events of the activity sequenced in the right way.

Do you have manpower lined up so

that when we do hopefully get out of the weather months and we can go fast so

we've got the right people that's making the right plans we get this thing done

on time
