Youtube daily Aug 10 2018

Fox News host, Laura Ingram, blew the loudest dog whistle for the racist Republican base

the other day during a segment on illegal and legal immigration.

In fact, to borrow a phrase that many others have used in the last year and a half, she

wasn't blowing the dog whistle.

She was absolutely using a megaphone to spew her message of hate.

Here's the clip and then we're going to kind of dissect it a little bit afterwards, but

here is what Laura Ingram, Fox News host had to say.

In some parts of the country, it does seem like the America that we know and love doesn't

exist anymore.

Massive demographic changes have been hoisted upon the American people.

There are changes that none of us ever voted for and most of us don't like.

From Virginia to California, we see stark examples of how radically, in some ways the

country has changed.

Now, much of this is related to both illegal and in some cases legal immigration that of

course progressives love.

Remember the old Democrats, maybe some of them that Ocasio-Cortez referring to they

used to think that borders mattered.

But the new activists believe in forcing immigration laws is essentially an ongoing human rights

violation.

Of course, they want to abolish ICE and so forth.

So, the big thing to point out here, is it's not just illegal immigration.

Fox News, just like the Trump administration has moved on to attacking legal immigrants

here in the United States.

Laura Ingram specifically says illegal and legal.

Then we obviously have to get in to the remaking the demographics of the America that we loved

comment.

That is full blown racism.

I mean, everybody understands what demographics mean, right?

That's the cultural and racial and religious makeup of a certain area.

Key word there being the racial makeup of it.

So, she is actually complaining that these non-white people are coming in to the United

States and making areas less white.

That is the argument that Laura Ingram is making on Fox News.

Will Fox News punish her for this?

Absolutely not.

She is carrying their water.

That is exactly what they want to hear her say.

So, if we want to get this race [inaudible 00:02:34] off the air, the only thing that

we can do is boycott the advertisers.

We have seen this work so successfully in the past with other Fox News hosts and it's

time for Laura Ingram to get a taste of that.

Any company that wants to stand by Laura Ingram and advertise on her show has absolutely every

right to do that.

Just like we as consumers have every single right to not shop for their products anymore.

That is what needs to happen.

Laura Ingram proved without a doubt during that segment that she is a 100% anti-immigrant

race hating hate filled woman.

That is the nicest way that I can put what this woman is without getting in to very severe

profanity at the moment.

But we have to call this what it is.

This is racism.

Laura Ingram is racist.

Her comments the other night proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Complaining about the demographic changes in the United States, saying that even the

legal immigrants are ruining things, that refers to non-white people coming in to the

United States from across the southern border.

Laura Ingram's advertisers need to feel the pressure now because that is the only thing

that is going to get this hate monger off the air.

Top 10 Scary Ethiopian Urban Legends - Duration: 11:12.

Hello and welcome back to the Most Amazing Channel on the internet – I am your host

Rebecca Felgate and today we are talking the Top 10 Ethiopian Urban Legends – this one

has been really hard to do for you as the Ethiopian people have suffered through a lot

of war and political upheaval in recent history, meaning their time was mainly spent trying

to survive persecution, rather than making up modern day spook and ghost stories… none

the less, I have done some digging…

10 - The Evil Eye

Belief in the evil eye is wide spread throughout Ethiopia and beyond, and here it is called

Buda.

The Evil eye is a curse cast by a malevolent glare, given to a person when they aren't

looking.

If an evil eye is cast on you, you are susceptible to injury or misfortune.

To protect yourself from the evil eye, usually people carry a talisman with an eye on it

– these look pretty freaky, but they're there to stare down any evil.

There is a belief in Ethiopia that the evil eye is able to transform into a Hyena and

come at you.

Lets talk more about those Hyena's at number 9

The Hyenas of Ethiopia have a very dark history and have been at the centre of myths and legends

for many hundreds of years.

Throughout the 1970s when Ethiopia's military dictatorship deployed Red Terror across the

country, bodies of those killed in mass genocide were dumped on the outskirts of capital city,

Addis Ababa…where the Hyenas would dispose of them.

These days, urban legend has it that those who sleep in the streets are dragged away

by hyenas, or at the very least lose a finger, a toe or more.

There are also tales of the dogs stealing babies from mothers arms or setting upon civillians

in packs.

For this reason, you don't want to venture out of the city alone at night…

Demons and Exorcisms In Ethiopia, people don't necessarily believe

in ghosts, but they certainly believe in demons.

A fear of demons has kept people living in fear for generations.

If a person falls ill and it can't be cured by medicine, it is basically just assumed

that they have a demon in them and that they need to be exorcised.

Ethiopia has a heavy Christian population and they believe that demons can be exorcised

and sometimes engage in a widespread phenomenon of mass exorcisms.

There is one priest in the capital Addis Abada that is known to exorcize demons for the cost

of one months wages.

A Czech photographer took pictures of priest Memehir Girma Wedimu exorcising 150 people

in the streets near a church in the capital.

The people were sprayed with Holy Water and screamed as they swore the felt demons leave

them.

150 Exoticisms in one go must make Ethiopia's capital a hotspot for demonic activity…orrr

hysteria.

The Ghost of Axum Youtuber Mixcatcom Pete uploaded a video in

2009 that claimed to pic up ghostly spirits in the Tomb of the King of Aksum in Northern

Ethiopia.

The city dates back to around 400 BCE, so its old!

It is unclear which of the King this Tomb belongs to in the video – the only thing

we know is that the creator thinks they saw and felt a ghost.

The tomb explored was looted, but its structure remained and Pete thinks his infared camera

picked up evidence that the spirit of the crypts resident is haunting the space.

Locals wont agree with you because they are more scared of demons that ghosts, but the

youtuber is adamant that the tomb is haunted.

The Little Boy Ghost In 2014, a Spanish tourist in Madrid was travelling

around Ethiopia when she captured the image of a little boy ghost.

Yes, this picture is of a little boy, sure, but next to him is a another child with his

hands and a different position looking straight into the camera.

Some paranormal experts believe the child to be the spirit of a child killed in the

village, who now acts as an invisible friend to the boy in the picture.

The Sugar Killers In Ethiopia, gossiping about sugar can get

you killed.

In 2017 it was said that simply the rumour of an illegal shipment of sugar got ten people

killed.

Sugar is now so sought after and expensive that people are willing to kill for it.

When word spread on social media that smuggled sugar was going to pass through the town of

Ambo, some youths in the town supposedly set up road blocks and threw stones at the trucks.

The police were drawn in to the frey and were said to have killed ten locals.

One teenager said: They were shooting at us with silencers on…One of the boys killed

was only 15.

They killed girls too – one was my friend.

A lot of my friends have died."

The Cripples of the Foot Whipping The Derg were a Marxist regime of Ethiopia

in power from 1974 to 1987.

In this time, there were many rumours of torture and execution of prisoners and enemies of

the regime.

The full extent of the cruelty only emerged after the regime was toppled, but at the time

it was said that leader Mengistu Haile Mariam would use a rope he called necktie to slowly

strange confessions from people, and that something called Bastinado was used to torture

people.

This was where their feet were tied up and smashed to pieces – which is why there are

a large number of permanently crippled Ethiopians today.

What seemed like horrifying urban legends in the 70s and 80s turned out to be the horrifying

truth.

Lucy and the Baboon Bone In 1974, a 3.2 million year old skeleton absolutely

astonished archeologists digging in a remote area of Afar in Ethiopia.

The skeleton appeared to belong to a new species of human ancestor called Australopithecus

and was thought to a female.

Scientists named her Lucy.

Our species, the Homo Sapiens, appeared around 200,000 years ago, so Lucy really is an old

old old relative.

It is thought that human life began around the area of modern day Ethiopia and the discovery

of Lucy has played a really important role in our study of evolution and migration.

However, in 2015, the American Museum of Natural History spotted a baboon bone amongst her

displayed skeleton bones.

This of course sent evolution deniers into a frenzy, claiming that Lucy was fake news

made up by atheists trying to sabotage religion… but in reality mix ups like this happen….

As Dr Simon Underdown of Oxford Brookes University said: The co-mingling of skeletons is quite

common in the archaeological record and it can often be difficult to separate out different

elements if multiple bodies are mixed together."

Who knows though!

The New Ocean Rumour has it that the famously landlocked

nation of Ethiopia will one day see water lapping against its land.

The lack of ocean has been a bit of a contentious issue for the country, which does still have

a Navy of 1 ship.

Anyway, word has it that a new ocean is forming that will split Africa in two…and it turns

out that this urban legend is true…only it will take 10 million years for it to happen.

Geologists working in the Afar region of Ethiopia say they have seen amazing changes in the

earth over the past 5 years.

10 million years may sound like a lot of time for a new ocean, but change is still happening

quickly!

In 2006, a 60 kilometre stretch of land opened up by 8 mentres in just ten days.

It is though eventually, southern Ethiopia and Somalia will drift away creating a new

island.

1 - The Mysteries of Dallol Dallol in Ethiopia is the hottest place in

earth.

Situated north on the boarder with Eritrea and in the Great Rift Valley, Dallol is a

melting pot of volcanic rock, spurting sulfuric acid and burning salt. because of its crazy

scientific compounds and high temperatures, the place is insane to look at; the water

is green, the land is yellow and white.

Reaching consistent temperatures of nearing 50 degrees Celsius and being one of the lowest

place on earth at 125 metres below sea level, many locals literally consider Dallol to be

hell, or the gateway to it.

Unlike death valley in the USA and Aziziyah in Libya, Dallol is actually inhabited …sort

of.

It is technically a ghost town.

The place is hot as hell, the water is toxic…why anyone would ever have lived here, why a handful

of people still do, is the topic of constant discuss A lot of locals consider these people

to be agents

of the devil.

Lush Deep Dives: Buff up on our naturally naked body scrubs - Duration: 7:46.

- Hey everybody, it's Erica Vega.

Today we are going to be talking about

naked packaging-free scrubs.

So we have a lot to offer in that realm at Lush.

I was going to tell you a little bit about

naked scrubs, in general,

and then also just show you a few of our favorites.

At Lush, we scrub a lot.

We do it with a lot of different things,

but one thing we don't do it with is microplastics.

They can have a really damaging effect on our waterways

and the creatures that live therein,

and so we want to make sure that whatever we're using

is coming from the Earth

and can go back to the Earth.

So we use a lot of different things to scrub at Lush.

Salt, sugar, we use ground rice, ground almonds,

ground almond shells, the list goes on and on.

And the cool thing about those, is not only

are they all-natural exfoliants, but they all

have their own inherent benefits, too.

So they're all gonna offer a big variety of

anything from, like, a really vigorous, hardy scrub,

to a really gentle one.

And they're all gonna have their added little benefits,

like using a little bit of ground almond,

it's got just a smidgen of

almond oil still left in those almonds

and that's going to leave a

really nice, supple feel on the skin.

Or using something like sea salt is gonna have a really,

like, cleansing, purifying, softening effect on the skin.

So not only are you getting the physical scrub,

but just that little added benefit

from those natural ingredients, as well.

So first, I wanted to talk about

body butters and shower scrubs,

because I think there's a lot of

variety to be found just within a few products.

So, depending on the effects you want,

it might change your mind about what you want,

even day to day.

So I want to start off with Buffy.

This is, like, super OG.

This is a cocoa butter and shea butter base

that has ground rice, ground almonds

and ground azuki beans, ground red beans.

This was inspired by a trip to Brazil,

where they saw people on the beach, taking suntan lotion

and rubbing that into their legs,

and then scooping up sand

and rubbing it on, and thought,

"gosh, what a great combination of

the oil and the scrub together."

And so Buffy is gonna leave a feeling

like you have lotion left on the skin,

but you still get that beautiful scrub.

So when you're done, you don't need

to put lotion on afterwards, you are good to go.

It was my only bridezilla moment that I had

in an otherwise calm wedding, when I forgot

my Buffy was a problem.

You probably also know Scrubby.

If you haven't tried this one yet,

it has a really similar feel to Buffy,

so it has that nice, rich feeling when you're done.

But this one has that beautiful

honey-I-washed-the-kids fragrance,

so you're probably loving it for that,

and then this one has the little,

the little bumblebee stripes is actually

a coconut shell

and so that's gonna give a really

nice, vigorous polish to the skin.

Albeit again, you're still gonna feel really sexy

and smooth afterwards.

So if you're looking for a little bit of a lighter feel,

like your skin just feels soft

but like you don't have lotion on,

we've also got the trick for you.

So, let me show you a couple of shower scrubs.

Here I've got The Rough With The Smooth.

Now this one is a sugar scrub

and it's in a murumuru butter base,

so the sugar is a really nice, fine polish,

and then the murumuru butter is almost like

a glossy oil that just sinks right

into your skin, so you feel really nice

and soft, but it's a nice, light scrub.

If you're looking for something a little fruitier,

we have Cherryish,

and this one is made with,

got some murumuru butter in there, too.

Some cocoa butter, shea butter,

illipe butter, lots of butters.

And then the exfoliants in here,

is some sea salt

and some ground up cherry pits,

so hence the name Cherryish.

Also it does have some dried cherries in there, too.

So this one is gonna give kind of

a similar texture as The Rough With The Smooth,

that one had sugar

and this one has salt, so you can imagine

probably a similar texture there,

but just a little more of a texture

with those cherry pits,

and so that's just gonna give a little bit more

of a hardy scrub than The Rough With The Smooth.

But both of these are gonna feel nice

and light when you're done.

We definitely have stuff outside of the body butter

and shower scrub ranges, too, so I just

wanted to show you a few other things.

And our naked scrubs.

So in soaps there's a lot of texture

to be had, as well, so I just

wanted to show you a couple of those.

So here we have our sea vegetable soap

and this one actually has,

you can see the top of it,

when you have a big block of it,

it looks almost like if you are flying

in an airplane over a tropical area,

where there's a lot of underwater coral

and small islands and stuff,

it looks just like that.

It's, like, topographical map.

So this has a bed a seaweed in there

and then some sea salt.

So as you wear that bar down,

you're getting a really nice scrub

with the two of those things.

Sea salt, again, has a really softening,

cleansing effect on the skin

and seaweed actually has a nourishing effect,

so you're kind of getting the

best of the sea with this one,

and it has this really fresh, breezy scent

with some lavender and some lime

and it's a real summer favorite, for sure.

So this is a super cool one.

This is Sandstone, it has a really fresh,

breakfasty lemon scent from the

litsea cubeba oil that's in there.

And this one, like the name implies,

has sand to do the scrubbing.

So this one, I always feel like when I use this one,

if I'm scrubbing on my leg, I feel like

the part that's about to get scrubbed on my leg

is actively being like, "Oh, me next, me next!"

So it has that really satisfying feeling

of getting a really good back scratch.

Sandstone is really, really refreshing, lively soap.

So when they make this one in the factory,

the sand is quite heavy

and so while they pour it, the sand starts to settle

and they have to get in there

and scoop it up to make sure that the sand

is all throughout the soap.

They're doing it really fast 'cause it's really hot

but they're getting in there

and stirring it up really good so you get

a nice, even coating of sand all the way through.

So it's a really, really reviving scrub

that I would definitely recommend

in the summertime, especially.

One more that I wanted to show you is Pumice Power

and this is actually over in our foot care range.

And it is a foot soap, so this one has a really

yummy sweet orange fragrance to it

and it has pumice, so it's almost like

a powder-feel, but a really nice, tough polish

that's really good for your feet.

You could also use it on your elbows

or on a tough area like that,

but that's gonna give really nice polish

to that area, to feel really nice and soft.

And then, because it is a soap,

you've got nice, clean feet, too,

so you'll be smelling fresh.

So, in terms of taking care of these,

especially the body butters with that

kind of melty, buttery base, I would recommend

keeping them dry as much as you can.

So, if you're traveling or you have a small shower

where they water's really getting everywhere,

I would recommend getting a tin,

like a body butter tin like this,

and that way that'll keep it nice and dry

and will keep it lasting a lot longer.

If you don't, it's cool, just put it up

on your shower shelf or just out of the way

of the direct hit of that hot water

and that way it will last a lot longer for you.

So that's just a little bit about our naked scrubs.

I just showed you maybe a third

of the naked scrubs that we have

and we also do have some ones that come in pots

and bottles, as well, so there's a ton

of things to look at if you want really soft skin.

So come on into the shop

and we can help you pick one out

or give us a call

and we'll help you pick one out.

So this is, again, just a conversation

between me and you.

I want to hear what you have to say about it,

so tell us what you think about the scrubs

and then also comment down below

about what you want to hear next time.

And then we will talk about that next time, okay?

Samsung makes the Bixby speaker known as Galaxy Home ● Tech News ● #TECH - Duration: 1:31.

It wouldn't look out of place at an IKEA store, but it would certainly be more than

a piece of post-industrial furniture.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Home, a Bixby-powered speaker, at its Unpacked event today by essentially

having 160 units placed throughout the Barclays Center main stage.

The feat was impressive, the sound was pretty good.

The company is taking full advantage of its acquisition of Harman by utilizing subsidiary

AKG in tuning the product, which looks like a stool with a lampshade on it.

It's no HomePod, for sure.

Two treble units face from the narrower top end while a hefty subwoofer gives the legs

a good shaking.

Artificial intelligence service Bixby is the key user interface — something Samsung has

taken some pains to show that it has improved in both syntax and conviviality —

that allows users with multiple products on the Bixby platform to leap from one Galaxy

Watch to a refrigerator when it comes to playing music or dispensing information.

Eight far-field microphones will be used to gather vocal input.

The speaker was only previewed at the event, but we can expect more details "soon,"

presumably at the next Samsung Developers' Conference in November.

We should expect a full reboot of Bixby in the near future.

Talking to Your Teen About Safe Driving - Duration: 2:10.

The number one cause of death for teenagers is motor vehicle accidents.

Fortunately though, a lot of these accidents can be prevented and parents

play a critical role in this. The first month after a driver gets their license

is an especially risky time, because they're inexperienced. This is why

graduated licensing laws are actually so effective. It gives teens time to

practice with a permit first before getting their license down the road.

When it's time for your teen to start driving, what can you do to help keep

them safe? First, try to give your teen as much extra

practice time behind the wheel as you can.

Beyond driver's ed courses, any time you can ride with your teen and let them

practice driving with you there helping supervise them is very helpful

for them to gain experience. You also want to make clear rules with your

adolescent about what you expect when they have the privilege of driving a

vehicle. Some examples of these rules would include no more than one or two

passengers in the car with them. No driving in the dark when they first get

their license is another example. You want to make it very clear that they

should never drive after using alcohol, marijuana, or any other drugs. Marijuana,

in particular, has been found in the bloodstream of many drivers who caused

fatal accidents. Eliminating distractions altogether is an important rule. This

includes things like eating and drinking in the car, texting and driving of course,

but also even the use of hands-free devices can be dangerous for young drivers. In

addition to clearly setting expectations and rules, some parents and teens

actually write out a contract and both sign it, so that people are very clear

about what's expected and what the consequences would be if one of these

rules are broken. Teens should also expect that parents

will provide a ride home with no questions asked if a teen needs one.

Parents should model safe and appropriate driving behaviors themselves by

minimizing distractions and not being aggressive drivers. This is a case when

parents and teens have to work together as partners. Teens want to drive, you want

to let your teen drive, and we want everybody to come home safe.
