Youtube daily Feb 13 2018

Hello everybody, so first video I've been wanting to do this for a bit I just want

to do a quick quick video about how I got started in making apps which I

probably don't have the same traditional route that other people have taken or

would even want to take maybe so I'd say early on if you have the desire to want

to learn and actually make something and make an app or something you feel like

is missing that's I mean that's what I decided I

always had an itch that I wanted to create something or do something with an

app it wasn't until I was actually in in Mexico spending time with my father and

reading a ton of books about about happiness and other things one of them

was the happiness advantage and I really liked the concept of three good things

and I was doing it every day in a note app and I found that kind of annoying

and I just wanted a very simple app where just one two three I could just

plug it in and then save it and then have it all for me to look back on and

then back it up every once in a while so I went out and seeked out when I got

back from Mexico this is actually a time a transition point in my life where I

actually had quit my job so in that case I did have some money and I also had

some family to help help me even thanks to my brother and his wife putting up

with me for a year during some time I so I think this is really for young people

that do have the time right now so I do because I wish I would have had someone

to tell me early on because I strangely enough I actually made my very very

first step that I published and created an Android developer account back in my

senior year of college using the old Android err Google App Inventor before

they handed it off to MIT many years ago so I made my first app doing that and it

felt good and it felt good when I my brother also encouraged me

and said you know I really appreciate that you took so much time as much as it

was just clicking and dragging boxes to create the logic of the app that's kind

of my initial story but actually getting the.. creating real

program real programs I kind of shied away from programming because I didn't

think I could do it or it didn't it wasn't I just maybe didn't have the

patience for it at the time but I know someone would have pushed me and said I

know you can do this and learn Java whatever I maybe I would have gotten an

early start I got a little bit of a head start but look you know can't can't

look back gotta just keep continue looking forward

so with that I think that's you know there's always got to be a time it's got

to be for people that do have the willingness and ability to either

build on top of something you know their free time, devote the time and the

schedule or to actually take like a break from work or a very young person

during summer breaks I think it's highly effective to actually go and build

something and learn even if you don't maybe yet are making your own app you

could at least learn how to do that and become a really good developer to be

able to do cool things into the future because I think programming is the future

or at least the current being able to live freely and move around and do

things if you have that dream as well and so for me I went out and I think I

you know I I really had to go find somewhere where I felt comfortable

actually learning and I stumbled upon a team treehouse and used their their

Android courses went through all of it got to the end did every single thing

follow the guys line by line and then I went to go make this app that I'd been

thinking about for a month or two and I had no idea where to start I was

completely lost I, I just didn't know I stared at it for

about a week straight I'd look at it I'd do some other stuff and then I just

kept coming back to and just didn't know where to start at all even though having

some little bit of an idea so even though I spent all the time learning it

wasn't until I did my own project and I had to stumble through that that I actually

started building on top of what it means to be a developer be a programmer and so

from there you know that maybe it was just some focus with fueled by a lot

of caffeine but I went and got some I went to Starbucks sat there and and just

all of a sudden things started clicking I was like this file interacts with this file

okay this does this I can use this file from this other project that I that I

did and one of the test projects because it it is an example of how the database

works this does this this interacts with that and my old early versions of my app

are incredibly ugly but once I figured that out I started just building on top

of that trying to understand all the all the different things that go into

building an Android app and the same goes for an iOS app as well I just never

really dove too far into making an iOS app but that is initially

my story of how I got started why I made an app and then through the years I've

had my app out for three some years now I'd only update it every so often and I'd

always tell myself I didn't know how to do some feature build something and I'd

have a user email me about it and I'd be like oh I don't know if I can do that

and I you know tell them set expectations but then like when I was

bored one time and I'd go and do it and it'd take me three four hours because

you once you have the ability to find the answers someone has already done it

already so you can just as long as you have an idea what to make in your head

someone has already done it and then you ask the right questions and go find it

by googling going to stack overflow finding example projects there's a lot

of people with open source projects digging into their file structures and

trying to understand how are their other stuff is interacting there's always a

little thing called libraries when it comes to developing apps frameworks that

allows you to kind of not recreate the wheel so like you could be a really

stellar developer and I know I'm not to that level where people are just creating all

the supporter classes and helper classes and all these different things

to help other things work and I just use other people's frameworks you plug

it in to your app one line of code and makes it much much faster to develop and

then there's always examples and people that have if you which I could talk

about it in a later video but.. Github.. and finding other excellent resources to

be able to to build to build off of and build from so that's my story of getting

started so really just if you want to make something you have that desire go

find somewhere where to learn Udacity Team Treehouse right now Udemy has a

really good deal for $12 classes I actually signed up for a bunch and for

the next four or five days this this week when the video is out and then just

start doing it following it and then when you as you're doing it think about

other things think about little ideas simple ideas don't don't think you want

to create Uber or Instagram or whatever because you'll just tire yourself out

and you'll never make it think about a really simple idea that you want to

create that does one or one or two things very easily and simple and then

just go start making that and think about where you can all the example

projects you use think about what you can pull from those projects to make the

idea that you want to make and then from there hopefully you can have a basis

that you've already you've already sparked something in your brain to want

to keep going and keep learning and and building it because I know I'm kind of

at that point now that I'm working on my app again where I'm learning stuff that

I know it gives me tools where I'm like okay if I make this app what can I

actually do with this and maybe turn it into something else or tweak it or or do

something else with it in the future so that's my my advice to you is just start

go find somewhere to learn go go look at the initial documentation on the

go Google Android get started and go find the documentation download

Android Studio for developing Android or for developing iOS if you have

a Mac to do iOS apps go download Xcode to get started and find some

coursework to go start doing example projects so that's my advice and getting

started with mobile developments

Which Amendments Could Cancel The Daily Trump Show For Good? - Duration: 4:27.

Right now, I am taking questions from Twitter I've got one here from Adjepatat @adswee,

who asks, "Is there any other amendment in the constitution than #25 to get rid of

the daily Trump show for good?"

Unfortunately, no.

The 25th Amendment is the only one that deals with any kind of succession, or I guess removal

of the President of the United States.

I wouldn't give up on the 25th Amendment though.

I still haven't given up on the 25th Amendment.

I don't think we need another one.

I think what we need are Republicans in Washington, D.C., who are smart enough to understand not

only the damage that Donald Trump is doing to our country, but the damage that he is

doing to their party.

Look, I know a lot of people have probably thrown parties at their house, and how many

times have you had a party, especially in your younger days, maybe sorority or frat

days where you've got a really good friend, but maybe they've just had a little too much

to drink, and so they start destroying things in your house, or wherever they are.

And as much as you like that friend, you've got to say, "Look, you gotta get outta here

because you're destroying everything."

That's what's happening with Donald Trump and the Republican Party, right now.

The Republican Party is hosting this nice little party, and Donald Trump is the drunk

friend who shows up and starting breaking TVs, and trying to steal your silverware.

If they had the courage to stand up and say, "Okay, look.

Here is all the evidence we have.

We have all of these psychiatrists, all of these mental health experts telling us that

Donald Trump is mentally unfit for office."

Let's invoke the 25th Amendment, not just to save the country, but to save our party.

We get Mike Pence, a guy who is easily controlled by the Koch Brothers.

He is a pushover.

He will do whatever Paul Ryan and Mitchell McConnell want.

It's a win-win for the Republicans at that point, but they are so terrified of this bully

that we have in the White House that they won't even stand up for their own party.

Instead, they're resigning.

They're not running for office.

"We're retiring!

Yeah, we're outta here!

Enjoy the Trump Show, ladies and gentlemen, good luck with that.

We're gonna go retire with all of our money, maybe become lobbyists, and make even more

money.

Sorry that this orange buffoon has ruined everything for everyone."

If they had any courage, whatsoever, any scruples, any form of integrity, they would be invoking

the 25th Amendment right now.

It would be happening right now based only on Donald Trump's mental fitness to hold office.

The evidence that this guy is unstable is overwhelming.

We have experts all over the country, ready and willing to testify that there is something

wrong with him, with his personality, but they won't do it.

But that could change in November, and so that's why I am holding out hope for the 25th

Amendment because I know.

I know that these Republicans are not going to do it.

There is no way in hell any of these folks in D.C. on the Republican side have enough

conviction to go up there and say, "Donald, your time is up.

You're not good for the country.

You're not good for the party.

You're not good for anything.

It's time for you to go, and we're putting Pence in there, and he's going to be our new

little puppet."

No one get me wrong.

Pence is bad.

He is not as bad as Donald Trump.

I don't buy that argument one bit.

Pence is as bad as George W. Bush, and yeah, that's bad.

Bad!

But nothing, nothing is as bad as Donald Trump.

The racism, the sexism, the bullying.

Mike Pence at least doesn't have all of that.

He's got a lot of it.

He's got some bad policies waiting in the wings as well.

But as it pointed out earlier, those policies, those can be undone.

The damage that Donald Trump is doing, it's going to take a lot longer for that to be

undone.

Gollum 'Smeagol Hates Nasty Hobbitses' | The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) CLIP - Duration: 4:09.

Too risky. Too risky.

Thieves.

They stole it from us.

Kill them. Kill them. Kill them both.

Quiet! Mustn't wake them.

Mustn't ruin it now.

But they knows.

They knows.

They suspects us.

What's it saying, my precious, my love?

Is Smeagol losing his nerve?

No. Not.

Never. Smeagol hates nasty Hobbitses.

Smeagol wants to see them dead.

And we will.

Smeagol did it once. He can do it again.

It's ours!

Ours!

We must get the precious. We must get it back.

Patience! Patience, my love.

First we must lead them to her.

We lead them to the Winding Stair.

Yes, the stairs. And then?

Up, up, up, up, up the stairs we go...

until we come to the tunnel.

And when they go in...

there's no coming out.

She's always hungry.

She always needs to feed.

She must eat.

All she gets is filthy Orcses.

And they doesn't taste very nice, does they, precious?

No.

Not very nice at all, my love.

She hungers for sweeter meats.

Hobbit meat.

And when she throws away the bones and the empty clothes...

then we will find it.

And take it for me!

For us.

Yes. We meant "for us."

Gollum. Gollum.

The precious will be ours...

once the Hobbitses are dead!

You treacherous little toad!

No! No! Master!

No, Sam! Leave him alone!

I heard it from his own mouth. He means to murder us.

Never! Smeagol wouldn't hurt a fly.

He's a horrid, fat Hobbit...

who hates Smeagol...

and who makes up nasty lies.

You miserable little maggot! I'll stove your head in!

Sam!

Call me a liar? You're a liar!

- You scare him off, we're lost! - I don't care! I can't do it, Mr. Frodo.

- I won't wait around for him to kill us! - I'm not sending him away.

You don't see it, do you?

He's a villain.

We can't do this by ourselves, Sam. Not without a guide.

I need you on my side.

I'm on your side, Mr. Frodo.

I know, Sam. I know.

Trust me.

Come, Smeagol.

Best Mac Apps 2018: Top 9 Free MacOS Apps - Duration: 5:23.

Hey friends my name's Tasia and this video features my top 9 free apps for

Mac. If you're a Mac user and you're not using these apps yet I don't even know

what's wrong with you?Just kidding go ahead and hit that

subscribe button for more content just like this and come on let's get after it!

As to not discriminate against my favorite Mac apps I'm gonna run through

this top 9 list in alphabetical order. That means first up is amphetamine. no

not the drug the Mac app. Amphetamine lives in your menu bar and easily allows

you to temporarily override the Energy Saver settings on your Mac in order to

keep it awake. There's a lot of customization options too like keeping

your Mac awake when specific apps are running or setting a schedule or

activating it when connected to a certain Wi-Fi network. You can even keep

your drives awake and you can change the icon too. The customizations go on and on.

Amphetamine, the Mac app is really helpful when I'm cooking in the kitchen

and following a recipe and I don't want my Mac to go to sleep as quickly as it

normally would. Next up is appcleaner, all one word. As a Mac user you're

probably familiar with just dragging and dropping an app into the trash but that

doesn't necessarily delete the associated files.

That's where app cleaner comes in. All you have to do is open app cleaner and

then open your Applications folder and drag over the app you want to remove. Now

you'll see the app and its associated files and you just have to click the

Remove button. You can also tap the menu button in the top right to search

through your apps to find the one you want to remove. Third on the list is an

oldie but a goodie, Audacity, an Audio Editor and recorder. With audacity you

can edit multitrack projects and add in effects to your tracks. I use audacity a

lot to record and edit all kinds of voice over projects. It's a simple but powerful

tool great for podcasts, recording audio books, or any other v/o work you might be

doing. Next up is the chrome app. Guys if you're not using the chrome app as your

go-to browser I seriously need to know why. No really I do! Leave the reasoning

in the comments below. Chrome integrates perfectly with my

gmail accounts plus its visually more appealing. It sounds silly but it

saves me a lot of time since I'm able to see the icons of all the tabs I have

open, I can quickly navigate between pages. Coming in at number 5 on the list

is dr. cleaner not to be confused with mr. clean.

Now even though Mac's are pretty good at stating off viruses and spyware they can

still get bogged down with things like temporary files and logs. Just like

amphetamine, this app lives in your menu bar for easy access.

Dr. cleaner gives you a snapshot of your CPU usage, network usage, junk files and

memory usage. The app allows you to remove the junk with just a click,

helping to optimize your Mac. The next app on the list finds and removes

duplicate files on your Mac and wait for it,

the name is super original: duplicate file finder remover. Now I'll give credit

where credit is due, the name of this Mac app does exactly what it says,. It finds

duplicate files hiding on your Mac and allows you to remove them. All you have

to do is drag and drop a folder in the duplicate file finder remover window or

click the plus button to add folders and then have it scan for duplicates. From

there you can review and remove any or all duplicate files. The next app to make

the list is KeePassX spelt as one word. This is my go-to password manager. Though

not the prettiest app KeePassX is reliable and gets the job done. It's a

great password protected password manager. You can sort entries by group

and easily add new entries. KeePassX allows you to add a title, so the name of

the site you're saving, you can add the URL so you have quick access to the site,

you can add any necessary comments, and then of course you add your username and

your password. Ok next up is for all you emoji lovers out there. If you want to

use emojis all the time anywhere on your Mac without having to search that

annoying emoji finder then rocket is for you! With this menu bar app installed you

can easily access any emoji by just typing a colon and then the first letter

of what you want to find. It's like a slack style emoji picker for your Mac. So

if I'm writing a YouTube video script then I can write that the rocket app

rocks and then add the rocket emoji. Using the preferences you can set your

skin tone and themes too. Last but

certainly not least is the Shazam app and I know what you're thinking: lady the

Shazam app is a mobile app and you'd partially be right, but I'm not talking

about the Shazam mobile app. I'm talking about the Shazam app for Mac. The Shazam

app for Mac lives in your menu bar and does well the exact same thing that the

Shazam mobile app does. It'll automatically recognize music played on

your Mac, but cooler yet Shazam for Mac will recognize any music playing around

you too. How neat is that? If you don't want it

running all the time in the background you have the option to toggle it on or

off. So those are my 9 favorite free apps for

Mac, now I want to hear from you. Let me know in the comments below what your

favorite mac apps are and hey look what's this? Hit that button right there

to subscribe to my channel. As always thank you so much for watching. If you
