In the creative field, you may think your success
is determined by the big things.
By winning a great contest, befriending a giant business manager or whoever.
But actually, it's all about the small details.
Small things you must be constantly putting out into the world.
Now let's talk about how we, an independent band from the Czech Republic
came to play a show in Dubai and why we will play more
and bigger shows there in the future.
Hello Citizens. Few months ago we got a suspicious e-mail
from the Middle East, saying GAD Music Productions are offering us a gig in Dubai.
First we were like - it's a spam. But we answered:
"Fuck yeah we want to play a show in Dubai."
And they sent us an actual contract, we settled all the details
It was real. And we were excited.
So we planned the journey, packed our stuff, and on we went.
They're all chatting at the counter number one.
We are staying at our brother's place in Prague,
you know, staying the night.
And first thing in the morning we're heading to the plane.
When we were leaving our hometown in the Czech Republic,
it was very grim day.
So I can't wait what luxury awaits us in Dubai.
This is how Tinder looks in Dubai.
First we got to sign some CDs.
This is not signing the CDs.
This is where our manager's gonna be sleeping.
The best thing when we arrived to Dubai was the weather.
It looks like this here at our home
and there it was like twenty degrees Celsius at night.
In winter.
In January.
Omer, the promoter picked us up at the airport and drove us to the hotel.
Then we went for some food. And Premek, the travel nerd he is,
- Hi. - Picked some Iranian diner that
makes the best kebab in Dubai.
- Yeah, and it was incredible. Actually,
I'm putting together a written blog post about our journey.
There's gonna be a lot more details for those of you
who want to visit Dubai themselves.
After dinner, we went to sleep, and woke up to this.
This is the day of the show, this is around lunchtime.
We are on the roof of our hotel and it's really bright here.
The sun is just burning.
There's the skyline.

This is Rafael. This is Timmy.
Well, there's a pool.
There is Burj Al Arab and we are playing
- left... - right next to it, left...
Those high buildings. I think... these ones.
- Yeah, Dubai Marina. - That's where we have the show.
Alright, let's go, or we're gonna roast ourselves.
Ok, so we're in the car. We're gonna go to the show.
And this is show promoter's brother - this is Yousef!
- Hello. - Hi.
- How are you guys?
- He just told us he went back to Dubai
just because of our show. And that's sick.
- Yeah. I'm in love with you guys, like... Exit Empire is just amazing.
I'm in love with your music. Just keep the work up, guys.
- Thanks a lot.
This was the venue the concert took place.
And it looked a lot more different to what we are used to in Europe.
The club, Scarlet Cardinal, was located in a five star hotel
right on the Jumeirah beach. That's kinda not a typical place
where you would imagine a metal show happening, right.
- That's the thing. Dubai is a city that's been built
in just fourty years or so. There's construction everywhere.
And it's being build for rich people, businesses and tourists.
Not for the underground music scene. - But the scene is there.
We've talked to the local bands and we were moved by the incredible energy
they were showing off on stage.

So how did we ended up playing a show in United Arab Emirates anyway?
Well...
First of all, we aim high.
But the promotion company simply loved our music and invited us.
As I was saying earlier, it's all about the small details.
In our case, we give our album away for free.
That's how they got their hands onto it. Special thanks to Marcy.

That's the only way we can grow. That's the only way we can
builld our dream by playing shows like this.
