In the previous episode you saw the scare we got and the wonderful waterfalls we visited.

But we had to move on.

In addition to installing the solar panels, we had to pack the things the wind took.

Before traveling, we need to thank you for the amount of likes in the last video.

You have understood that this is important and it's helping the channel a lot.

So, like this video now.

But there were people who asked how to like a video.

So let's have a quick explanation.

If you are on the computer or on the cell phone, just below the video there's a thumbs up.

Click the thumbs up and you're done: you liked the video.

From Sibenik to Rijeka are 120 miles, however we were stopping along the way.

Now we are driving to reach a more open sea.

Because the forecast is giving a weak wind.

A better one is coming tomorrow, so there's still plenty miles left, we'll try to catch some wind today

and tomorrow we'll try to get another wind.

It was a nice thing that it's been a week since we left Montenegro.

And then I ask myself, "What do you guys do in a week?"

We leave Montenegro in a week, we enter another country, we go to Dubrovnik,

we leave Dubrovnik, we make another stop in other places, we go through a bad rain,

we get out of this rain, we go to a marina, we leave the marina, we go somewhere else ...

When we realize that we are already on the boat, living on board for more than a year,

it seems like a lifetime, and it's true, because a year on land, it seems like you do

the same things, you will probably continue in the same job, will do the same things.

A year in a boat ... It's a lot, a lot of different, a lot of new things.

So it's very cool. Think about what you do in a week.

It's good to think about it sometimes, you know?

I think this insight came from Beto, that insight of what was happening to his life.

He would continue the rest of his life working, doing the same thing, nine years in the same job.

So sometimes we need to reflect a little ... What are we doing? What's the point, you know?

Are we living for us? Are you living for yourself? Or are you living for others?

♫ Music ♫

We traveled about 18 miles.

Most part with the balloon, we started the motor just now.

We're getting in Kornati, where we're going to stop.

It was slow, we've been sailing for more than 6 hours, because we stayed in the three, four, two, three knots...

And now we decided to start the engine because we are arriving.

Arriving near the park, the wind was over.

We started the engine and went inside.

It really is a different look.

In the middle of the Adriatic Sea, the waters become shallow and clear.

The surrounding islands form a large swimming pool in the inner part, great for sailing and sleeping.

However, to stay in the park you have to pay a fee and we need to save a lot,

due to the expenses we are having.

♫ Music ♫

So we decided to move forward looking for an anchorage site.

Lunch time over here.

It is very hot, you can't have high gastronomy, because the best thing is some salad

something cool because 33 degrees is pretty intense.

It's really easy to cook, you can even make a cake, a pudding, because it's so calm ...

The sea is like this, total flat.

♫ Music ♫

At the end of the day we found a well-sheltered place to sleep, and spent a quiet night.

We left our anchor a half hour ago. We've sail nearly a mile.

Just with the sails. There is a crosswind.

We are about 3.5, 4 knots, with the balloon.

With the gennaker, actually. I always missed this.

It's still about 15 hours before we get to Rijeka.

Let's see how much we do today.

That sailboat there is using the engine.

And we're right there with them. We're good, Betinho.

♫ Music ♫

I'm talking to Helio, sending some photos. He's giving us some advice.

Then he told me "Send me a video now so I can feel embarked, so I can understand how I can help".

Then I sent a video of the sail, the direction of the wind, a video of the whole boat.

Then he said, "Look, go up 10 degrees that you're going to walk more."

So I did it and we went from 4.1 to 5.1 knots.

Just doing that. And he from there, huh?

Look, Helio, I think you should sell this.

Because it helps a lot.

Betinho's going to be like this, folks. We are fighting, we are learning.

And it's sailing that you learn how to do it, right?

How many years of experience does Hélio have? Must have 30, 40 years of experience.

We're only at the second, but we'll get there.

♫ Music ♫

And as it is sailing that one learns, we sent Helio what we were doing.

That we took the master sail and he said that in theory it is easier, but that with the master sail you walk more.

Then we put it on again.

And now we're at 5.5 knots, Beto?

6.5! Beautifully improved.

Because when we gave the angle that he said it was +10, it has already risen to 5.5

and now that we opened the master sail, it was 6.5.

Small things that will make a big difference, especially when the road is long.

♫ Music ♫

Wind has increased here, we are almost at 7 knots.

We are using the genoa and the master sail.

We're just a little worried about the weather, it looks like it's changing a bit.

It's getting a little darker, the sun is not so strong anymore ...

We finished our delicious lunch.

With such a wonderful view. And now we've completed 30 miles.

Just with the sails.

Even Beto was saying, I think it's our general record, because usually we have to start the engine a little bit,

even in Brazil, we almost never managed to got the whole trip 100% in the sail.

We're sailing at the speed of the wave, look at this.

♫ Music ♫

We turned the engine on, because deep down there, look ... It's all dark.

The forecast is bad and the wind is coming from there, so that's probably coming from here.

Let's wait and see, right?

♫ Music ♫

We arrived here on the island of Cres.

We are very close to Rijeka, we did 50 nautical miles today.

Most of it was with the wind, thank God.

Now it was going to get dark, so we started the engine so we would not arrive at night,

because we don't know anything about the place.

We went through two anchorages, the two are paid, you have to pay 13 kunas per boat feet.

so we came to find a place that was sheltered and that did not have to pay.

It's beautiful. The place is empty, there is absolutely nothing here, but it is a nice place, very quiet.

♫ Music ♫

This anchorage wasn't bad at all, right?

Six feet deep, nice.

It's like a pool here. There are more sailboats, which is also good, a sign that ...

One even came to talk to us. There are one, two, three, four, plus four boats.

♫ Music ♫

Time to get out of the paradise we anchored, we slept super nicely.

I'm already preparing a potato salad, something to eat in the middle of the way.

And now we will arrive at the final destination that is Rijeka, we are close, 40, 30 miles left.

So I guess in 5 hours we'll be there.

God willing, there'll be a wind in the middle of the way.

♫ Music ♫

We wanted wind, right?

We asked so much that it came in double.

We continue with a speed of almost 7 knots.

This boat hits 7 knots very easily.

But now we are using the master sail and we also reduced the genoa.

And we kept the same speed.

So we're just kind of cautious because we don't know everything about the whole ship.

And the weather is not very good arriving in Rijeka, it's a bit closed.

So we're slow, not slow, the speed is great, but we're paying close attention,

because if anything happens, we'll have to be very quickly.

We continue here, the idea is not to start the engine.

I even said to Beto "let's try to use only the sail, tighten, lower the cloths and start the engine."

But for the moment everything is ok.

♫ Music ♫

We reduced the genoa a little more and now Beto is going to put the cart a little further.

If you look, right there next to Rijeka, which is right here on our prow, it's very dark, look.

So that was what scared us a little bit in that sense.

- Still six knots. - Still six knots?

And it's clear here.

Well, what we were afraid of happened.

That is the moment the winds were going to meet, we already imagined that.

And then, of course, we began to tilt a lot.

Then we had to get everything quickly, things were beating from side to side, we got everything.

♫ Music ♫

It's turning. We had wind here and the storm was announced here.

So they're probably getting together and here's where they're escaping to.

There's the storm.

[wind]

♫ Music ♫

We are scared, because the weather here is very crazy indeed,

even now because of the summer, these summer rains ...

My heart is on the test here.

And Beto is also being very cautious. He started to see the forecast and said, "Thais, let's do it."

I said "Are you sure?". And in fact, he was totally correct in that, you have to be cautious, you have to be calm.

So you don't have any problems, you know?

Now let's see how it's going to be ... It's blowing a lot out there, and we're up against the wind.

[wind]

I started the engine and went downwind towards the island of Plavnik.

The idea was to stay behind it hidden from the wind.

As we approached, the wind dropped.

As it was still early, we figured we could stop closer to Rijeka

and we saw anchor points in Opatija.

We're here, turning and seeing if we can find some place to anchor tonight.

But either we can't anchor or it's 25 meters deep ...

Either it's marina or it's poita ...

Or we don't know where we're going.

Here was a place that we thought about stopping but we couldn't.

It has an anchor right here, turned upside down, which means we can't anchor here.

There, for example, where we could anchor, is 38 meters deep.

Closer, where the depth decreases, is where poita is.

One more fiasco here in this place.

And now we're going to a marina that's another mile ahead.

The night arrived and I found it safer to stop at a marina.

The only problem was the price: 80 euros.

And then we went down to take a walk in the city, when we noticed that the city is ...

A luxury! Full of italians, casinos, five stars hotel, expensive brands.

- The city is kind ... - Monaco.

♫ Music ♫

Jeep Wrangler JK Rugged Ridge Spartan Front Bumper w/ Standard Ends (2007-2018) Review & Install - Duration: 15:42.

This Rugged Ridge Spartan front bumper is going to be for those of you who that have

a 2007 to 2018 JK that are looking for a bumper that's going to add some protection, change

up the style of your Jeep and also add some additional off-road functionality that you

just don't get from your factory front bumper.

This bumper in particular is going to be a little bit less expensive than some of the

other ones that you can find.

It is a multiple piece bumper, doesn't have all the gusseting and the strength built into

it that some of the other bumpers do have.

So if you really plan to punish your bumper, you plan on bouncing off rocks and off-road

obstacles, you may want to find one that's a little beefier than this one is but if you

don't plan on smashing your bumper into a bunch of stuff, this is still going to be

plenty strong and still offer some really nice off-road features that we'll talk about

in just a second.

This is going to be a pretty easy one out of three wrench installation.

Again, it is a multiple piece bumper, so there's a little bit more assembly to do but it's

still going to bolt right in place, everything just attaches with nut and bolt hardware.

So it's still very simple and we'll talk more about that in just a second.

So when you are searching for bumpers, you are going to find ones that are various widths,

various designs, so aesthetically different and then also, different functionality.

And again, I've mentioned a couple of times now, I really do like the fact that this has

a lot of off-road features built into it, all at a lower price than some of the other

choices.

Rugged Ridge does offer quite a few different modular front bumpers and those are going

to be a bumper base with a bunch of pieces that you can add on to really build a custom

bumper.

This is not going to be that.

This does come in a couple of pieces but this isn't customizable in that way.

This is going to come as the main bumper piece, then there's also a section in the center

here, that's going to be your winch plate and then of course, you have your tube over

here that gets mounted up top, giving you a couple of additional light mounts.

So I said that this bumper doesn't have all of the gusseting and all of the strength pieces

built into it that you'll find in some of the other bumpers and part of the reason for

that is the fact that this is modular.

So you have your winch plate that gets bolted directly to the frame, that's the part that

really needs to be very, very strong.

You mount your winch on that, that's for recovery purposes, again, that needs a ton of strength.

Then you have your D-Ring mounts on the front here and they bolt through the bumper to the

frame horn.

So again, you need a ton of strength there, they get bolted directly to the frame as well.

So there's really nothing about the bumper itself that needs to be structural.

It's really more of an aesthetic piece, really more of a cover than anything else at that

point because of the way that this is designed.

So the fact that it doesn't have a lot of those additional pieces built into it isn't

really a knock on this bumper.

It's just the different type of design that this has versus some of the other choices

out there.

So getting back into some of the features that this has that I do like.

Again, a winch plate, that's going to be great for recoveries, two D-Ring mounts, again,

awesome for recoveries.

This does allow you to mount your factory fog lights in the front bumper.

So if you have a factory plastic front bumper on your JK, you can bolt those fog lights

right into this bumper.

That's something I really, really like.

You all ready have the wiring, you all ready have the lights, the switch is there, why

not be able to use your factory lights?

This bumper will allow you to do that and then of course, you have the hoop up on top

here.

That's not really for any kind of additional protection, really.

It's more of an aesthetic piece but it does have two light mount tabs here and here.

So as that pieces up on top here, you have a spot for a couple of additional auxiliary

lights.

So overall, I like the features that this bumper has.

I think you're still going to get a ton of strength where it's necessary, the winch plate

and recovery point and I think you're going to be able to save yourself some money by

going with this bumper over some of the other options out there.

As I said, this bumper is going to be a little bit less expensive than some of the other

choices that you can find.

This comes in at $350.

So this isn't going to be a bargain basement bumper that doesn't have any sort strength,

has a horrible coating, that's not this.

This is still a very well built, very well thought out bumper.

As I said, it has all the strength that it needs where it needs it, in those D-Ring mounts

and in that winch mount.

Has some nice features, has a good coating on it.

Overall, I think it's a very good bumper for the cost.

Now I'll have a member of the install team show you how you get this bolted up.

First thing we're going to do is open the hood and remove the grille.

To do so, you're going to need a pry tool and there are six push pins on the top of

the grille to pull out and we'll get the grille out.

We can go ahead and use our pry tool and remove the six push pins on the top of our grille.

All right.

We're going to remove our grille now.

We can pull straight out on this to release the mount clips on the bottom.

Once we've got the grille out, we can disconnect our turn signals.

Next, we're going to remove the closeout panel.

There's two pushpins that we need to remove.

We'll be using our pry tool again.

There are eight nuts on the inside of the bumper that we need to remove to uninstall

our bumper.

I have an 18 millimeter socket on my ratchet.

Now the next two are going to be on the inside of the frame rail.

Once you've got all eight nuts off of your bumper, you can remove it.

We'll just slide it off of the studs and we'll set this aside.

Now that we've got our stock bumper off, we're going to take this time to remove our factory

fog lights because we are going to use these in our new bumper.

So all you're going to need is a Phillips head screw driver or a Phillips head tip on

your drill and we'll come in and unscrew the four screws that hold our factory fog lights

in our factory bumper.

Once you've got them unscrewed, go ahead and just pull them right out.

So once we've got everything uninstalled, we're going to go ahead and reinstall our

grille.

It's going to go back on the same way it came off.

We'll start off by putting our turn signal bulbs back in.

We got our bottom clip in place and we'll put our six pushpins back in the top.

Next thing we're going to do is loosely install our winch plate.

What we need to do is take a nut plate here, slide it in the front of the frame horn and

grab an M10 bolt and washer.

And once you have your winch plate on top of the frame rail, stick your nut plate through

the hole here and we'll get one of these bolts started.

All right.

We have our new bumper on the table here.

We're ready to put our factory fog lights into the new bumper.

So we'll just drop them in place using the supplied hardware.

We can drop a screw right down and we will get a nut on the back side of this.

So this stuff is really small, so have some patience.

We're now ready to install our bumper.

Once you've got your new bumper in place, we need to get it bolted up now.

So take the D-Ring mounting plate and the supplied hardware and on the two outside holes,

we're going to get a bolt started.

The two outside holes get nuts, the two inside holes get a nut plate that I'll show you in

a little bit.

So once you've got them started, we can crawl underneath now and get two nuts started.

We're not going to tighten them up, we're just going to get them started.

So for the two inside holes, we're going to utilize this nut plate here.

You need to slide the nut plate up behind the bumper, get one of your bolts in and started.

So what I'm going to do is get my holes lined up first.

So with one bolt in, I'm going to try and get my nut plate started.

All right.

We can do the same thing on this side of the jeep now.

We'll put our D-Ring plate up and we're going to get our two outside bolts started first.

I'm going to go reach under and get a nut started.

Next up is the nut plate.

So I'm going to get one of these started and I'm going to go underneath now and try and

get the nut plate started.

Next thing we're going to do is bolt our bumper to the winch plate.

We're going to use the supplied hardware with a washer.

We're going to get all these started loosely first and then we'll go back here and tighten

them all up.

And I have a 5-millimeter Allen wrench here.

Rugged Ridge does supply you with an Allen wrench.

I'm using my own, it's going to make it a little bit easier.

With all four of these bolts started on the bumper-to-winch plate here, I'm going to now

tighten them all down.

I have a 5-millimeter Allen wrench on my impact gun.

I'm going to get these snugged up.

We can now tighten up our bumper bolts.

I have a 19-millimeter socket for the outside bolt and a 19-millimeter wrench for the inside

nut.

Since we have a nut plate on the inside of these two, we don't need to hold the back

side.

The last step of this install is going to be to install our overrider.

So we're going to place this on top of the bumper.

We will take the supplied nut plate, we're going to stick it underneath and we're going

to get some bolts started in this.

It'll be a little bit of a balancing act.

I'm going to get one started and that's going to hold my nut plate up for me.

So what we want to do is get all six of these started loosely first before we tighten one

side down.

Once we get all six started, we can go through and tighten them all down at once.

We're going to do the same thing on the other side of the Jeep now.

I'll get this nut plate started.

All right.

We're going to put our Rugged Ridge emblem on the bumper now.

You guys can put this wherever you would like.

I'm going to place it right under the left side of the overrider.

And again, you can put this wherever you desire.

That's where I'm going to place ours.

That's going to wrap up our review on install.

Be sure to check this bumper out and more at extremeterrain.com.
