How did you get involved -- Aviation Gin?

What is going on? This is, like --

This is an American-made gin.

-It's an American gin.

Little smoother than our -- its British counterparts,

little more drinkable.

Uh, wow. I sound like a pro.

-Yeah, you're actually good at this.

-I really know nothing about gin.

If I ran the company for real, it would be on fire.

[ Laughter ]

-No. It was -- I was in Vancouver,

and I had been -- I was shooting.

And I was shooting a film out there.

And I went to this one restaurant.

I ordered a Negroni. And then I was --

It was the best Negroni I had ever had in my life.

And I went back there about eight more times

before I finally asked the guy, "What's in this?"

And he said it was Aviation Gin.

So, I did a little research, and it won --

got, like, a 97 for wine --

It was, like, the highest-rated gin ever

for that particular company.

And it was tiny.

So, I was able to meet some of the owners

and weasel my way in as an owner.

And I love it. It's amazing.

-Where is this based out of? -It's based out of Portland.

Portland, Oregon. -Cheers.

Was this just gin and soda?

-Mine's just straight gin.

Yours has lots of soda right there.

-Wow. [ Laughter ]

I love it. -Yeah.

-Dude, it's fantastic. -Pretty great.

-Refreshing. -I know.

So, it's been fun.

It's been fun learning kind of the ropes.

You know, the liquor industry's kind of not unlike the --

Yeah, there you go. Kicking right in, huh?

Yeah. I put a little something extra in there.

-[ Slurring ] You're my best friend.

You're my best friend. -No, you hang up.

No, you hang up. -No, you hang up.

It is tasty, man. -I know. Pretty good, right?

-Refreshing. I love it.

But now, dude, now you go to meetings now?

Are you, like -- -Loaded?

Yeah, pretty much. -No, no, no. I mean, no.

Do you go into meetings and, like, talk about the company?

-Yeah. I kind of travel all over the country.

I meet buyers, that sort of stuff.

It's, like, it's a real, genuine responsibility.

But it's not -- it's not too dissimilar to the film industry.

I mean, it's all sort of based on relationships and handshakes.

You know, but what's weird and I found so ironic

was that it's the liquor industry

where you actually have to be accountable.

Like, in the -- in the film business, you can, you know --

If you're working on a movie,

you can go out for a night of drinking and then, you know,

miss work because you fell asleep on a stove.

And no one's gonna really do much about it.

But the liquor industry, it's hardcore.

Yeah, you can't -- You don't mess up with those guys.

Yeah. No. -No, you can't.

But you said it's like just jumping into everything.

Like, even jumping into "Deadpool,"

you didn't know what -- what it was.

-No. It was sort of --

The whole thing's been an amazing learning experience.

But you gotta trust your gut on this kind of stuff.

I mean, 11 years ago, I remember reading a "Deadpool" comic

and feeling like this is a once-in-a-lifetime connection.

And then a few years later, I met my wife, and I was like,

"Oh, I guess a once-in-a-lifetime connection

can happen twice."

And then -- And then we had our children.

And that's when I realized that I love gin.

[ Laughter and applause ]

I just...

I took the passion...

-Of course. Of course. -I went deep with the passion.

Right?

So, that's when I bought -- I bought Aviation Gin.

-That's fantastic, dude. -Yeah.

-I know that if you do go on vacation,

you have to have an out-of-office e-mail reply

that people do.

And you're not really used to those type of --

-No. It's all so formal. Yeah.

Suddenly, I have, like, a pseudo-cyber office

when I have to be -- again, I have to be accountable.

So when I'm away, I have to send out out-of-office e-mails.

So, if you e-mail me at the company,

you get a response back, at least.

And it's, yeah, been fun.

-And some people told you to, you know,

just keep it short and sweet.

-Keep it short and sweet. -Out of the office.

-Nothing personal. -Not checking my e-mail.

-Be back -- Yeah. -Yeah.

-So, I went deep. -This is six paragraphs long.

It's just -- -Yeah, yeah.

-This is your out-of-office e-mail reply.

We highlighted some stuff.

-Yeah. It was -- It was fun. -In case you want to just --

-It was a bit of an overshare. I enjoyed it.

Yeah, so this is only my second out-of-office reply.

And from what I'm told,

it should be short, sweet, never personal.

I said, "This Father's --" This is for Father's Day.

I said, "This is the perfect time

to give your dad the best Aviation American Gin."

I said, "While my own father may be gone,

the unspoken tension we shared is alive and well.

This Father's Day,

you may not be able to give Dad a second chance,

but you can give him a bottle of Aviation American Gin.

Or if he died before either of you

could even begin to comprehend the importance of closure,

just get yourself a bottle.

to just look at the cover of a book

and know everything about it without having to read it.

a scheduling mystery.

and they get it exactly opposite wrong.

You're like, "Yeah." What was it?

You didn't go with it. -Oh, it was -- no, no, no.

At the time, we were -- well, my first pitch

to the studio was not met very well.

I pitched them that Deadpool -- this is for the sequel --

that Deadpool would -- the whole story of the movie

would be Deadpool trying to steal the big red chair

from "The Voice." -That's right.

[ Laughter ] -And they were like...

-"No."

-"That's just the dumbest thing ever, so no."

-That was the whole idea of the movie.

-Yeah. But the second one, it was great.

'Cause, like, it was always fun to pitch to the studio,

'cause we have a whole sequence in the movie with --

with this team.

Deadpool builds a team, the X-Force.

And the studio was like, "Yes! Like, synergy, 'Avengers'!

"Like, that's what we're gonna get out of this.

It's gonna be great."

And I was like, "Yeah, they're all amazing.

"They're all, like, super huge stars.

"It's gonna be -- it's gonna be awesome.

Brad Pitt's going to do it."

And they were like, "Wait. Hold on. Back up.

Brad Pitt's gonna do this?" I was like, "Yeah.

Yeah, he's playing one of the characters."

They're like, "Which character?"

I was like, "He's gonna play -- he's gonna play Vanisher."

And they're like, "What's Vanisher's power?"

And I was like, "Well, he doesn't speak

and he's invisible." [ Laughter ]

And they were like...

-They're like, "Okay."

-"But why is Brad Pitt doing it?"

Oh, no. I was, I was like, "'Cause you see him," you know.

And they were like, "When do you see him?"

I was like, "You see him for a quarter of a second

when he's electrocuted to death."

ADJECTIVES #2 | Prefixes & Suffixes | Basic English Grammar Course - Duration: 10:15.

Hello, guys. Welcome to this English course on adjectives.

In today's video, I'm going to talk about prefixes and suffixes that are commonly added

to adjectives in English.

A prefix is a few letters added to a beginning

of a word to change the meaning of that word.

And a suffix is a few letters added to the

end of the word to change the meaning.

We'll get more into detail.

Let's get started.

Let's take a look at a few adjectives with

prefixes. Again a 'prefix' is a few letters added

to the beginning of the adjective. Mostly to make it negative.

Let's take a look at a few examples.

First we have the prefix 'un'. U, n.

For example, if we take the word, 'fair', and want to make it negative, we can add u

– n to have the word 'unfair' which is the opposite of fair.

Same goes for 'happy'. 'unhappy'

'sure' become 'unsure'. Another prefix is i –n , 'in'.

To make the adjective negative, again, For example, 'active' – 'inactive'.

'appropriate' 'inappropriate'

'complete' 'incomplete'

The prefix i –r now, 'ir'. For example,

'responsible' 'irresponsible'

'regular' 'irregular'

'rational' 'irrational'

Then we have the prefix i –m, 'im'. For example,

'balance' 'imbalance'

'polite' 'impolite'

'possible' 'impossible'

And finally, the prefix, 'il'. I – l.

Like, 'legal' 'illegal'

'literate' 'illiterate'

'logical' 'illogical'

These are just a few examples, guys. There are so many other prefixes in English.

But I hope you now have a better understanding. Let's move on.

Let's now talk about suffixes. In English, you can add a few letters to a

noun or a verb to make it into an adjective.

Not necessarily a negative adjective.

It's not like prefixes.

There are so many suffixes in English, but

here is a list of very common ones.

We can find a suffix 'able'.

Like, 'adorable'. 'comfortable'

Also the suffix 'en', e – n. Like, 'broken'.

'golden'

'ese'

Like, 'Chinese'. 'Japanese'

'ful' Like, 'wonderful'.

'powerful'

'ative'

Like, 'informative'. 'talkative'

'ous' 'dangerous'

'enormous'

Or 'some'.

Like, 'awesome'. 'handsome'

Again, these are just a few examples. There are so many suffixes.

But I hope you now have a good idea of how to use suffixes in English.

Let's now move on to practice.

Okay, guys.

Let's practice finding adjectives in the following sentences.

And prefixes or suffixes.

Let's have a look.

"I have an uncomfortable seat."

Now, can you spot the adjective, first?

Of course, the adjective here is 'uncomfortable'.

Can you see any prefix or suffix?

I do.

There is a prefix, which is 'un'.

And there is a suffix as well. The suffix, 'able'.

Okay, so look at how we transformed the word.

The first word was 'comfort' in English.

First, we added a suffix to make it into an adjective, which is 'comfortable'.

And then we added a prefix, 'un', to make it negative.

So the seat is not comfortable, it is uncomfortable.

That's how prefixes and suffixes can be

used in English.

The second sentence, "She has a black car."

Can you spot the adjective, first.

Of course, it's the adjective 'black'.

Is there a suffix or a prefix?

No, there isn't.

Next sentence. "His father was unhelpful."

What's the adjective? 'unhelpful'

Of course.

Any prefix, suffix?

Yes, there is a prefix. Again, which is 'un'.

To make the adjective negative. And there is a suffix, 'ful'.

To make the noun 'help' into an adjective.

'unhelpful'

Next sentence. "The actor is handsome."

The adjective, of course, is 'handsome'.

Is there a prefix?

No, there isn't.

Is there a suffix?

Of course, 'some'.

'handsome'

"I hate oily food."

The adjective is 'oily'. Of course.

Is there a prefix?

There isn't.

Is there a suffix?

Of course.

The 'y' is a suffix. You have the word, the noun, 'oil'.

And to make it into an adjective you add the suffix 'y'.

And finally, "She is a dishonest woman."

The adjective is 'dishonest', of course.

Do you have a prefix?

We do. Yes. We have the prefix, 'dis'.

It shows this woman is not honest, she is dishonest.

Okay, so that's how with prefixes and suffixes we can really transform words in English.

It's wonderful isn't it?

There are thousands of prefixes and suffixes.

Again, these are just a few examples. But I hope you now understand how it works

in English and how you can really transform and play with the different words and kinds

of words.

Okay, guys. Let's now review the sentences

together and focus on pronunciation.

Repeat after me, please.

"I have an uncomfortable seat." "I have an uncomfortable seat."

Good job. Second sentence.

"She has a black car." "She has a black car."

Good. Keep repeating.

"His father was unhelpful." "His father was unhelpful."

"The actor is handsome." "The actor is handsome."

Good. Moving on.

"I hate oily food." "I hate oily food."

And finally. "She is a dishonest woman."

"She is a dishonest woman."

alrighty lets get cookin'

These are the ingredients And on this package there is onion and shimeji shrooms

pictured on the package so I'll copy those things

I'll be making 8 portions of these

And inside these are noodles and 3 packets

starting with the topping and soup and...

The soup looks spicy AF doesn't it

and boil the noodles

After the noodles have been cooked according to direction Transfer to a Bowl

And add your desired toppings shimeji and onion

and the last packet of powder

This is cheese it smells so much like cheese

I put the toppings in before the powder... I don't have an eye for A E S T H E T I C S

tadaa its done It looks spicy but.... spicy things go nicely with cheese

I think it'll be yummy itadakimasu

I'm really digging the fact that The powdered cheese melts into the soup

its rather spicy its spicy but..... yup its spicy

this powdered cheese.... the cheezy powder is real rich tasting and gives it lots of depth

this soup is super spicy Maybe if I mix the cheese in better

gah.... this red looking soup

Please instant noodles from Korea usually get you to make the soup before adding the noodles making

giving the noodles so much extra flavor its so yummy

Spicy Ramen like this are blisteringly spicy the first few mouthfuls

And as you gradually get used to it it gets better

but the first little while is super spicy It's so spicy that my mouth is watering like crazy

and I have this ginger ale here

I think I feel a bit better its a stongly flavored ginger ale

this strongly flavored extra spicy ginger ale is here to help me with this extra spicy ramen

.... or so that's what I hope will happen

Another thing about this is that still piping hot I should have cooled these off

the shimeji shrooms are so yummy

The first little while is super spicy Best get used to it.... it does get better

and you can start to enjoy the flavors
