Youtube daily Feb 19 2018

I talked last week about

connecting with your partner in my video blog, and how you really should be scheduling regular date nights.

So here is one of the ways

I encourage the couples I work with in my Sacramento office to do so. Hi, I'm Catherine O'brien, Licensed Marriage & Family

Therapist at HappyWithBaby.com. And honestly, it doesn't matter how you keep track.

I just have found with couples that I work with and also with my own partner, my own husband, is that it really makes

things much easier if you do. And one way is by using a shared calendar

So I'm currently using

Google Calendar personally,

but I know there's a lot of other great ones out there, and I'm sure if you ask your friends or

different family members that all have their own opinion.

But I'm suggesting that you find something that works and use it. And that can be anywhere from a paper calendar, a wall

calendar, or even just a whiteboard of upcoming events.

So I found that Google

Is the best one for me because we have-- I'm able to keep track of my work schedule on here as well.

And so it's pretty simple and simple it's good for me.

And it integrates well with that work calendar that I have, which is really key. So

things that you should be doing or managing on a weekly schedule check in [with your partner] is

like keeping track of doctor's appointments. And so, say you schedule a doctor's appointment.

You can use your app, you know, if you're out at the doctor's

and write it in there from like the little card they give you. But, you know, you write it in there.

I already have that one from the other day, but if I wanted to

invite my husband to it because he wasn't there at the appointment and maybe I wanted to make sure he came to the next

one, then I would just go ahead and

add guests. And for the heck of it, we will go ahead and just put my own in there. And I would

go ahead and do that, and then when I save it,

it goes ahead and invites him to that appointment as well, which is super helpful

for future events.

So, that's one thing. So I would make sure that you keep track of any upcoming doctor's appointments. Maybe you

have a tax appointment coming up.

I would make sure that that was scheduled and that it coordinates with both your calendars. And say my husband's--if

his calendar was connected to this one, it would have his appointments on there. And I could see

and making sure not to over schedule different events.

But one of the other things that

You can put in is like a birthday party, so maybe there's a birthday party this Saturday, and then you go ahead and put in

Joey's

4th birthday

Party.

And then it's from 10:00 to

12:00, but then I know that

it'll take time to get home, so I'll put

12:30 and I guess I should leave earlier so 9:30.

And then, more options.

Again, I might want to add a guest and invite my husband to go with me to that.

And maybe you go ahead and say, oh yeah, give me a ten-minute reminder

that the appointment is happening, and then it will also alert you.

Or maybe this isn't going to conflict with my schedule. I'm still free. So you can put free and it won't affect

your ability to have the other things on that schedule.

So here, it's asking, would you like to send invitations to guests? Yes.

So that way my

husband (but really it's just me) would be getting that invitation. And so the other thing I had mentioned in that last

video blog was that to do the regular daily check-ins, and so I like to put all my

date nights or check-ins with my husband or whatever in red for love, right. So you can change the color of that as well.

I'll show you how you do that, if you wanted to have different colors for different things.

So, I do the red or it's more like a pink.

Or you can do green or yellow or whatever, and then it saves all of that. So I know like, okay,

we got our daily check-in scheduled.

And then

our daily or weekly date night is in there.

Anything in blue currently is things for my kids, so they have

karate belt ceremonies, so we have that on the schedule.

I have my self-care time and then my husband has his self-care time.

So different things that you want to make sure that you have on there.

And then you can always make sure as you guys are

reviewing the schedule for the week that is it colorful enough that we have a good combination of

all the things that we want to make sure we're doing. So I like

to do it that way. Some people like to keep it more plain.

But whatever works for you is the best thing for you to do.

So, the things to remember is

weekly, you can you can set it up so maybe every

Sunday at 2 o'clock, maybe that's when the kids are taking a nap. We'll do our

schedule review. It would be helpful if I could spell.

Schedule review. We do it from 2:00 to 2:30. Save it.

Maybe I want that in a different color because, like I told you guys, I do those in different colors.

So that's part of, you know, our red. That's us connecting, so I'll go ahead and do that in pink

And then so we do our schedule review

for the week. And

we can make sure about all the appointments: Did he'd get the message?

Did I get the message? Does he have to work late?

Maybe he tells me he has to work late on Tuesday.

So I make sure that we either have extra child care if I'm working

late as well that evening. And so, we can just kind of double check all the appointments.

And then it's it's quick and easy during the week. Like maybe when we do our daily check-in, we'll

ask like, is there--Are you still coming home tonight at the same time?

Or is there anything else that popped up on your schedule that we need to be aware of? Like maybe

an appointment popped up that we weren't aware of was happening. So we can make sure we can check in on that. So making sure

that you have those doctors appointments down or any other kind of a coming appointments, any activities that are happening like

preschool or

karate practice or something,

and then any tasks that need to be done. And I think I'll be doing a little review of the ways

I like to keep track of different tasks that need to happen, whether they're big chore projects like

painting the bathroom, or you know,

changing out the baby's room or whatever it is. And we can talk about how how we manage those

in a later video.

And then also making sure, of course, always, a self-care.

How are you both getting self-care in? And maybe you include any exercise that you're doing as well on that calendar.

And those date nights for sure. And just maybe

other tasks and chores, like grocery shopping like I go every

Monday after drop-off typically. It was later this week because of a

doctor's appointment,

but usually I do it right after drop-off. And then I

usually do a Costco run like twice a month. And so, then I put that in there.

But doing things like that or maybe you'd have your housecleaning. This is when I clean the bathrooms. This is when

I mop the floors. And you put those in there.

And it kind of helps keep you accountable of the things that you want to make sure that you're getting done. But also when

you need any extra help or support, and how you guys can get that from each other.

I hope this was helpful.

And I'd love to hear what

Calendars or apps that you and your partner use to keep in sync with all your schedules in your family.

Until next time, take care.

Baby Monitor Protocol - Interrogation Mode (Scene) | Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) CLIP - Duration: 3:34.

May?

Hey, Karen. What's up?

KAREN: Hey, Peter. How was your Spanish quiz?

I was wondering if you could help me.

I'm trying to figure out who the guys under the bridge were that night...

...but I can only remember part of a license plate.

I can run facial recognition on the footage of that encounter.

- Footage? - Yes, Peter.

I record everything you see.

- Everything? - Everything.

- All the time? - It's called the Baby Monitor Protocol.

Yeah, of course it is. Um...

- Yeah, just roll it back to last Friday. - With pleasure.

PETER: Hey, everyone. Yeah, kick-ass party.

Hey, what's up, Liz? Peter's told me a lot about you.

No, no, no. This is just me messing around.

Go later in the day, later in the day.

It is I, Thor, son of Odin.

No, no, no. That's definitely...

That's definitely not what we wanted to watch.

KAREN: Your impressions are very funny. - Fast-forward to the arms deal.

Okay.

The two on the right, who are they?

KAREN: Searching law-enforcement databases.

No records found for two of the individuals.

- Nothing? - KAREN: One individual identified.

Aaron Davis, age 33.

He has a criminal record and an address here in Queens.

Let's pay him a visit.

KAREN: Would you like me to activate the Enhanced Interrogation Protocol?

Uh, yeah.

-(IN DEEP VOICE) Remember me? - Hey...

I need information. You'll give it to me now.

- All right, chill. - Come on!

- What happened to your voice? - What do you mean?

I heard you by the bridge. I know what a girl sound like.

I'm not a girl. I'm a boy. I mean, I'm a... I'm a man.

I don't care what you are, a boy, a girl...

I'm not a girl. I'm a man.

Come on, man. Look, who is selling these weapons?

I need to know. Give me names or else.

- You ain't ever done this before, huh? - Deactivate Interrogation Mode.

(IN NORMAL VOICE) Look, man.

These guys are selling weapons that are crazy dangerous.

They can't be out on the streets.

If one of them can cut Delmar's Bodega in half...

- You know Delmar's? - Yeah, best sandwich in Queens.

- Sub Haven's pretty good. - Eh, it's too much bread.

- I like bread. - Come on, man, please.

Stupid Interrogation Mode. Karen, don't ever do that again.

The other night, you told that dude, "If you shoot somebody, shoot me."

It's pretty ballsy.

I don't want those weapons in this neighborhood.

I got a nephew who live here.

Who are these guys?

What can you tell me about the guy with the wings?

Other than he's a psychopath dressed like a demon, nothing.

I don't know who he is or where he is.

( PETER SIGHS )

- I do know where he's gonna be. - Really?

Yeah, this crazy dude I used to work with...

...he's supposed to be doing a deal with him.

Yes! Yes.

- Thank... - Hey. Hey. Hey.

I didn't tell you where. You don't have a location.

Right, of course. Yeah, my bad. Silly. Just...

Yeah.

- Where is it? - Can I give you some advice?

- Hmm? - You gotta get better at this part of the job.

I don't understand.

I'm intimidating.

- Staten Island Ferry, 11. - Oh, that's soon.

That's gonna dissolve in two hours.

No, no, no. Come fix this.

- Two hours. You deserve that. - I got ice cream in here.

You deserve that. You're a criminal. Bye, Mr. Criminal.

Watch: Trey Gowdy Shut Down Nancy Cordes On CBS Sunday Morning !

Trey Gowdy stole a little bit of Nancy Cordes' thunder on CBS Sunday morning by curtly reminding

her that he is not in fact a member of the

Republican House leadership team. WATCH:

Gowdy and the "Face The Nation" guest host were discussing potential new legislation

to curb future mass shootings, like Wednesday's tragedy in Parkland, Florida.

Gowdy suggested implementing "a duty to disclose" for law enforcement to act when

certain individuals exhibit violent or concerning behavior.

"We have it in other categories of law," the South Carolina Republican explained.

"You could impose a lawful duty to disclose if you hear that someone is planning to do

something."

"The shooting in Florida," he continued, "you didn't need a duty to disclose.

People did come forward and put the FBI on notice."

Gowdy further added that he is "fine with doing away with any instrumentality that converts

a semi automatic to a fully automatic."

"So you're a member of leadership," Cordes incorrectly asserted.

"When will we see a vote on that?"

"I'm not a member of leadership," Gowdy corrected, "but I'm happy to ask them

when and if we're going to see a vote.

I don't know that it requires a vote of Congress.

I think ATF can regulate bump stocks tomorrow."

So sorry to see you leave Trey Gowdy, We Hoping you will be a Fox news contributor like Another

Supporting businesses in creating accessible workplaces & infrastructure | Innovative Practice 2018 - Duration: 5:14.

Presentation on "Workplace Accessibility in Pakistan" by Omair Ahmad from POWPDP, Pakistan

Video: NOWPDP was established in 2008 as a disability inclusion initiative. We operate in the areas of education and economic empowerment through our dedicated programs, Dastoor and

Yaqeeen, and other interventions, focusing on promoting an inclusive society through holistic and sustainable endeavors.

Understanding and witnessing the barriers to the built environment, NOWPDP along with Institute of Architects Pakistan began various projects and interventions that laid the foundation for the current

evolved practice.

The nominated practice uses the Accessibility code of Pakistan (2006) as its basis and NOWPDP's model accessible workplace as an example for its 4-pronged workplace accessibility practice. The

practice focuses on infrastructures, attitudes, employment and sustainability, each element going through a research, implementation and compliance phase.

The practice is a new concept for Pakistan and involves holistic changes focusing on creating infrastructural, attitudinal and policy changes and creating employment. Collaboration with Institute of

Architects Pakistan, NOWPDP incorporates creative, customized and unconventional accessibility solutions that are grounded with the focus of sustainability.

As of 2017, NOWPDP has: Reviewed 100+ locations for accessibility, Provided workshops to 250+ people with disabilities, Incubated 10 persons with disabilities to start their own businesses, Trained 750+

children and adults with disabilities in various skills, Placed 350+ persons with disabilities in jobs and internships

Success of accessibility is seen as the number of persons with have been able to employ, train and engage through special projects. Picture 1: Imran Ghanchi, wheelchair user, at his accessible work

station Picture 2: Atif Jilany, person with physical impairment, with his colleagues at his accessible workplace.

Finance remains an issue for non-profits with project based and corporate funding Sustainability is ensured through: 3- phase process, disability equality

trainings, policy recommendations, master trainers and creating a resource hubs Challenges include mindsets, building structures, ignorance of

accessible solutions and lack of knowledge of disability issues

NOWPDP will be focusing on creating taking on projects in tier 1 and tier 2 cities, advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities, raising awareness of Accessible Solutions, expanding NOWPDP's

Community Outreach and concentrating on accessibility of Public Spaces.

Effective laws for the construction of accessible school buildings | Innovative Policy 2018 - Duration: 7:50.

Presentation made by Mukasa Apollo, from Uganda National Action on Physical Disability(UNAPD), title of presentation; Binding and effective By-Law for construction of accessible schools in Uganda. Country :

Uganda, Name of the session: Accessibility in Low Income Countries(38 words)

UNAPD as the disabled peoples organisation in Uganda, in 2010 developed the Accessibility Standards in line with article 9 of UNCRPD, and in 2016, UNAPD worked with Mukono district, Nabaale

Sub-County to develop and By-Law on Accessibility (38 words)

Although Uganda is one of few countries in Africa with friendly disability laws, are not well implemented including the Accessibility Standards. UNAPD decided to develop a project aimed at translating

the national laws at local level with special focus on accessibility to buildings(43 words)

National laws are rarely priotised by local governments. Innovatively, UNAPD resorted to engage local governments themselves to develop their own by-laws at local level but which are inline with the national

laws on Accessibility to ease implementation(38 words)

The implementation of by-law on accessibility has made some impacts like; 7 newly constructed schools in the area are accessible, 2 old schools, 1 health center being modified to become accessible as

well. This has resulted into increased attendance of CWDs to schools.(44 words)

These memorable impacts in a short run were made possible by factors like; Availability of Accessibility Standards, positive attitude of policy makers and community, funding from DRF and UNAPD being a

specialized organization on accessibility(35 words)

The project was funded by Disability Rights Fund(DRF), However, this achievement was only in 1 district out of 126 district of Uganda. This calls for more funding from partners/donors to duplicate the project

successes in other more districts(39 words)

Sustainability is ensured because: it's a By-Law whose implementation will stay for generations, capacity built on interpretation/enforcement will spread the impact , several buildings

will be accessible to people with disabilities. more access to services by the vulnerable(38 words)

Challenges include; limited funding to duplicate to other districts, limited skills/knowledge on interpretation of accessibility details for people with disabilitiess by architects, Inclusive design is expensive

especially with modifications(28 words)

Way forward; documentation of project success stories, look for other partners/donors to duplicate the project to other areas, share success stories globally, continuous advocacy with policy makers &

implementers on accessibility needs of people with disabilitiess in construction industry(37 words)

Way forward continued: Further strengthen the capacity of UNAPD to be national center for advocacy, advice and monitoring for inclusive designs and lastly establish a regional coalition on advocacy for

inclusive designs/accessibility(east Africa level)

Making the cinema accessible for all throughout Colombia | Innovative Policy 2018 - Duration: 3:34.

Jaifa Margarita Mezher Arango from the Columbian Ministry of Information and Communication Technology speaking about their programme Cine Para Todos, translated as Cinema for All

The Ministry of ICT´s Cine Para Todos project, that literally means Cinema for Everyone, is a space of entertainment and inclusive culture that allows people with visual, auditory and/or cognitive

disability to enjoy accessible cinema functions for free in 12 cities throughout Columbia, thanks to audio technologies description, interpretation in Columbian sign language and special subtitling.

Cinema for Everyone has 4 pillars: regular functions, Functions in PVD (Puntos Vive Digital – Live Digital Points), Radiocine (Radio cinema) and inclusive SmarTIC. Regular functions: Projection of accessible

films for people with disabilities in the Cine Colombia´s cinemas and Functions in Puntos Vive Digital: Accessible functions in municipalities and cities where there are no cinemas.

Radio Cinema: Transmission of films with Audio description (modern version of the Radionovela), through the 51 frequencies of the Colombian National Radio, including holidays at 7:00 p.m. Inclusive

SmarTIC: Cinema creation workshops with mobile devices for people with visual, auditory and physical impairment. So far 96 film-makers with disabilities in Columbia were certified.

Impact of the project: Cinema for Everyone has benefited 80,32 people directly, having hosted 601 functions in 12 cities throughout the country and creating 79 accessible films.
