Youtube daily Sep 4 2018

how many times do we say google it when

we don't find the answers we are looking for.

People believe that if something

doesn't exist on Google it doesn't exist at all.

today almost everyone uses Google

from its search engine and YouTube to

the Android smartphones that use them.

apart from being a massively successful

company Google has its own simple style

of keeping itself apart from the crowd.

google has always done things a little

bit differently and that works to keep

things fresh, immersive and consistently progressive.

it has collected digitized

arranged and presented more information

than any company in history.

today it has a market value of 739 billion US dollars

Google's revenue amounted to one hundred

and nine point six five billion US

dollars in 2017 which is more than

combined revenue of Disney and Facebook

according to Fortune 500 list.

let's dive deeper into how big it is and how

it all began. the story of Google begins

in 1995 at Stanford University.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin met at Stanford

when Brin was asked to show page who was

a new student around the school. by some

accounts they disagreed about nearly

everything during that first meeting but

by the following year they struck a

partnership. working from their dorm

rooms they built a search engine that

used PageRank algorithm to determine the

importance of individual pages on the

World Wide Web. their mission was to

organize the world's information and

make it universally accessible and

useful. they called this search engine

back rub. Larry and Sergey later decided

the name of their search engine needed

to change and decided upon Google which

is inspired from the term

Googol which means one with a hundred

zeros following it. in August 1998 sun

co-founder Andy Bechtolsheim wrote Larry

and Sergey a check for a hundred

thousand and Google Inc was officially

born. with this investment the newly

incorporated team made the upgrade from

the dorms to their first office a garage

in suburban Menlo Park California owned

by Susan Wojcicki who was the

sixteenth employee of Google and now CEO

of YouTube. the picture shown here is a

capture of the site from the Internet

Archive of what Google looked like in

1998. in February 1999 Google got its

first real office in Palo Alto

California. later in the year they moved

to Mountain View California. in July 2001

Google Images launched with 250 million

searchable images. after that in August

2001 Eric Schmidt becomes CEO while page

became president of products and Brin

became president of Technology. the early

days of Google were not super glamorous

Schmidt told LinkedIn co-founder Reed

Hoffman

during an interview that the former CEOs

first office at the company was an 8 by

12 foot space that he shared with the

companies then VP of engineering Amit

Singhal. an interesting thing to know is

that since the founders Larry and Sergey

weren't looking to start their own

business, they tried to sell their search

engine system to Yahoo. Yahoo originally

said no but in 2002 offered to buy

Google for 3 billion but this time

Google said no. later in the year 2003

Google acquired pyra Labs creators of

blogger. after that in March 2004 Google

moved its headquarters in to the

Googleplex Mountain View California.

in the same year Gmail launched on April

Fool's Day despite it being a real email service.

in the years that followed the company

expanded rapidly hiring engineers

building a sales team and much more.

the spirit of doing things differently made the move.

we encourage our employees to

spend 20% of their time working on

whatever they're interested in not what

their boss wants them to work on. out of

that most of our great new products have come.

in August 19 2004 Google conducted

an initial public offering on NASDAQ the

offering raised about 1.2 billion for

the company. when it went public Google

was valued as much as General Motors.

later in February 2005 Google Maps

launched. in the same year they also

released Google Earth allowing users to

view satellite imagery of any place in

the world.

in October 2006 Google acquired YouTube

for 1.65 billion and launched Google

Docs- an online application for creating

documents. after that in November 2007

Google launched Android OS an

open-source mobile device platform.

later in September 2008 the g1 the first

Android phone was unveiled by t-mobile (htc)

in the same year in September second

Google Chrome was launched. after that in

April 4th 2011 page resumed CEO title

after ten years away while Schmidt

became executive chairman on April 4th

2012 Google unveils Project Glass an

initiative to develop a wearable device

the device later debuts as Google glass.

in August 10th 2015 google announces a

corporate restructuring forming an

umbrella company called alphabet and

naming sundar pichai as the new CEO to

the core business of Google. co-founders

page and Brin will run alphabet with

page as CEO and brain as president.

In october 2nd 2015 the company announces

that its restructuring will happen at

the end of the day, alphabet will become

the parent company of separate smaller

companies one of which is Google.

today with more than 85,000 plus

employees in 50 different countries

Google currently owns more than 250 plus

companies which includes nest labs

deepmind

AdMob and Motorola. an interesting thing

to know is Google's acquiring on an

average one company every week.

the relentless search for better answers

continues to be at the core of

everything Google does. in 2017 Google

earned one of the highest tech company

revenues with roughly 110 billion u.s.

dollars. the advertising revenue was

ninety five point four billion dollars

which is more than combined prime-time

advertising revenues of Fox ABC, NBC and

CBS. as of May 2018 search market leader

Google had a market value of 739 billion

US dollars. despite the vast scope of

Google products the company still

collects the majority of its revenue

through online advertising on Google

Sites and Google Network websites.

google is the undisputed champion when

it comes to discovering risks associated

with their core business and

neutralizing them either by acquisition

or their own development or both.

for example different browsers could block

you from searching on Google com or make

it more difficult to overcome that they

created their own web browser and made

it fast reliable and user-friendly. their

browser now accounts for 60 to 70%

market share in 2017. a second example

Google realized that smartphones are

changing our lives so they acquired

Android inx for 50 million US dollars

early on in 2005. a third example AI and

smarthome is another rising trend

with the potential to change our lives

forever

so they created Google assistant and

smart home concept. they made Google

assistant available for everyone to

implement. it starts with phones and TVs

and will continue to roll out to your

car, fridge, oven, toaster, light bulbs

speakers whatever you can name that's

technologically related.

as such a powerful and ubiquitous company

Google's influence cannot be denied. through web

searches and the usage of its products

Google is able to track the global arms

trade, the spread of disease, censorship

and local crisis successfully. a study

performed shows that a political

candidates ranking and search results

could affect an undecided voters

opinions. with such great power

supposedly comes great responsibility

if information is power in the digital

age then Google has a fair claim to

being the most powerful company in the

world.

August Greene Shares the Inspiration Behind Their Cover of "Optimistic" - Duration: 4:15.

-What's up, y'all? My name is Robert Glasper.

I'm 1/3 of August Greene. -What up?

My name is Karriem Riggins,

part of the group -- classic -- August Greene.

-What's up, y'all?

My name is common, one other third of August Greene.

-[ Laughs ]

-And we're gonna let y'all know

how the song "Optimistic" got created.

Well, first of all, "Optimistic" --

the version we did was inspired by an original version,

which was done by Sounds of Blackness,

written by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, right?

-Yeah. -They both wrote that.

It was a powerful song that came out in the '90s, early '90s,

and, one day, we were just in the studio,

cooking up some August Greene stuff.

And we were sitting in the live room,

and I remember Rob saying something about

how much he loved that song, "Optimistic."

And then, kind of, I started talking about how I loved it.

And Karriem was like, "Man, that's one of

my favorite songs."

And we just was like, "Man, we should do a remake of it."

And, for me, it was really a new thought,

because being a hip-hop artist, you never attempt remakes.

But with August Greene, like, you know,

because we're a band and just can do whatever we choose,

it just was -- Yeah, it was like the heavens opened.

Like, "Damn, we can do a remake."

So, then Rob suggested somebody.

-And I suggested Brandy to sing it,

'cause the thing about that song -- it transcends --

kind of transcends genre, in a way, because when it came out,

everybody loved the song.

You know what I mean?

It's kind of this -- kind of a gospel song, but not really.

It's just inspirational. You know what I mean?

So everybody from hip-hop to R&B to gospel --

you know, they all loved the song.

So, I had thought of getting Brandy to sing it --

you know what I mean? -- 'cause she's one of

those voices that everybody loves.

She has a timeless voice.

And, you know, I thought people would appreciate her.

So, you know, we hit her up, and she --

Did she fly down the next day?

-Yeah. -Yeah.

To be honest, at one point, we was thinking, like,

having Brandy be one of the singers.

-Right. -That's right.

-But then once she sang it -- She just came in the studio.

We was at Electric Lady, and she started doing her thing.

Like, she was just king of vibing before we got to it.

And then once she started recording, it was like, "No.

She can do the whole --" -Yeah, it was a wrap.

'Cause we were gonna try to have different vocalists --

person do a verse here, chorus, you know, kind of mix it up.

"We Are the World" fashion, something like that.

But, yeah, once she started, it was a wrap.

-Yeah. -For sure.

-So, and then, the next process of

making a remix of the remake.

[ Laughter ]

We started -- We did a remix of the song

and we added Kierra Sheard, from Detroit, incredible singer,

BJ The Chicago Kid.

We wanted to add something to --

You know, it's, like, our ode to the song,

so this is like a tribute to the brothers that made the song.

And we did that.

We talked about recording Kierra in Detroit?

-Yeah. Well, so, when we talked about it --

'Cause it's funny when we talk about things

and watching them come true.

'Cause we're in Electric Lady, we were talking about,

"We should do a remix of this."

And then I was like, "We should get Kierra Sheard."

And everyone was like, "Let's get BJ the Chicago Kid."

I think he was even like, "Well, I can call Kirk Franklin."

And you called him. -Yeah, yeah. We called him.

-In that moment, it was like, "Yo, can you get on this?"

And, so, everybody ended up getting on the joint,

you know, getting on the song.

So it features all of them.

And, so, what happened was -- I happened to be in Chicago.

Kierra happened to be in Detroit.

So I flew from Chicago to Detroit to record her vocal.

And that was, like, the only day she could do it.

-She smashed it.

-The timing worked out perfectly.

You know what I mean?

Yeah, so, I flew to Detroit so she could do her vocal there.

And then I came back, and BJ came to New York

for a few hours and got back on the plane.

-Yeah.

-And then Kirk Franklin was like, "Yeah."

He was just down to do it.

He laid it down in his studio and gave his vibe.

And that's the story of "Optimistic,"

August Greene's "Optimistic,"

and then the remix of "Optimistic."

Giant Squid 'IF' These Monsters Attack!? - Duration: 7:28.

The giant squid is a creature that has gone from myth and legend to fact.

The old sea tales of krakens and sailors being dragged to the bottom of the ocean were once

scoffed at but now we know that they were probably true.

The giant squid still remains enigmatic the behemoth rarely being seen, and science still

has a lot to learn about these highly intelligent super predators.

This knowledge improves little by little each time there is a sighting or the discovery

of a dead animal.

This is something that has just occurred with Divers Finding an Enormous, Squid on a New

Zealand Beach Welcome to if…………………………………………

The recent finding of this underwater giant may

help scientist gain more understanding of the underwater 8 legged monsters found on

Saturday 25th of August by spear fisherman on the Wellington beach in New Zealand.

The pictures show how these men are dwarfed by the cephalopod.

At a length of 13 feet or 4.2 meters this is a large animal but at its biggest, it is

said that these creatures could get as big as 16 feet.

This creature is said to be a smaller 'Architeuthis dux' not the beast which most likely inspired

the legends of the Kraken 'Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni.'

This large slab of calamari would have been made to look small if it had been a colossal

squid as they can break 30 feet in size.

This information is highly speculative as gather any kind of data on these animals is

notoriously difficult.

Most of what we do know has been gleaned from accidental captures and specimens washing

ashore.

So with these legends of the deadly Kraken attacking boats, sailors and creatures as

large as whales do we see these behaviors playing out in the real world with these two

species of giants?

The short answer is yes!

And here are three tales of frightening squid attack they may well have you staying out

of the water!

In this clip, we can see a monstrous squid attacking a diver in the ocean depths.

We can see the diver is just taking footage of the elusive creature when from the murky

depths a squid decides to go on the attack.

Wrapping the diver in its tentacles the man is almost powerless to fight back.

This smaller species of squid-like other large squid has hooks running along each of its

tentacles, these grabbing the diver with ferocious strength.

We can see the animal attempting to pull the man toward its mouth a beak like an apparatus

that would have easily torn through the man and crushed his bones, probably being able

to tear the man limb from limb.

This sounds just like the old sea tales to me.

Luckily the diver manages to break free and heads for the surface no serious injuries

thankfully

Incredibly, though, it's not the first time the elusive sea monsters have attacked visitors

to their Scott Cassell diver and filmmaker was also

attacked by the angry eight armed underwater terror.

He tells of how the creatures dragged him underwater at ridiculous speed breaking his

wrist and dislocated his shoulder.

If attacking a diver is not close enough to the legends of the Kraken and its attacks

on the sailing ships of old.

How about an attack on a submarine.

Two green peace workers were using submersible in one of their projects, this is when a giant

Humbolt squid decide to attack them.

Spraying ink as they swarmed the small submarine containing the two people.

The Humbolt squid may not be the size of the cephalopods we have already mentioned but

they more than make up for that size difference with an aggressiveness that is legendary,

it's even earned them the nickname red devils.

The bright red color coming from their ability to manipulate and change the shades and color

of their skin.

This is thought to be a method of communication but it also adds to the terror when they attack.

Flashing through an array of colors and back to bright blood red, they become a colliderscope

of terror.

These tentacled menaces have killed.

Reports coming out of Mexico document how a pack of squid capsized a fishing and attacked

the fisherman in a gruesome spectacle witnessed by many from the beach.

One of these witnesses talks about seeing bodies washing ashore.

He said these unlucky souls were black and blue all over and covered in circular lesions

from the squid's suckers.

One survivor washed up with the bodies this unfortunate man was almost unrecognizable.

Biologists commented on this horrific incident, they think that the attack was from a coordinated

group of female squid.

This attack was so bad it had the local government creating a cordoned off area of the sea, this

so no one else would fall victim to the locally known 'diablos rojos"

One scary fact of this incident is that it is likely to happen again, dwindling fish

stocks will put man and beast at odds in the future.

This giant squid will make an unmatchable advisory for anyone who takes to the water

with them.

Their size, the gang mentality, eight strong flexible arms and two longer tentacles with

large pads to grab prey, all covered in suction cups lined with small teeth.

Cardio would not be an issue, with their three hearts.

Eyes the size of soccer balls mean they can easily spot anything even in the darkest of

ocean waters.

All of this would be enough to keep me out of the water.

How about you?

Would you like to see this squid up close?

Do you think the stories of the Kraken pulling down whole ships could be true?

Let me know in the comments below.

N. Korea adds more Beijing-Pyongyang flights for Foundation Day - Duration: 0:45.

As North Korea celebrates the 70th anniversary of its founding, Air Koryo, temporarily added

more flights between Pyongyang and Beijing.

According to sources from the Chinese aviation industry, between Thursday and Saturday, the

regime's airline will be operating six extra flights between the two cities.

The North will be holding a massive military parade and other events this Sunday.

Ahead of that, on Thursday, Air Koryo is reportedly operating three more flights -- one each at

noon, 4 PM and 7 PM, in addition to the one it already has at 2 PM.

The extra flights are indicative of how the September 9th event will be the largest to

date.

There were, in fact, double the number of passengers today checking in for Pyongyang-bound

flights from the Chinese capital, and notably more foreigners.

Trung Quốc Thâu Tóm Philippines bằng Hứa Hẹn Đầu Tư Suông? | Trung Quốc Không Kiểm Duyệt - Duration: 8:57.

On this episode of China Uncensored,

the Chinese regime promised the Philippines

that they'd totally give them billions of dollars.

How'd that turn out?

Hi, Welcome back to China Uncensored.

I'm your host, Chris Chappell.

Rodrigo Duterte.

President of the Philippines,

and Vladimir Putin wannabe.

When he ran for office,

he was so outspoken against China's

territorial claims in the South China Sea,

that he pledged to stop them with a move

even Putin would have admired:

He promised to ride a jetski to disputed islands

and plant the Philippines' flag.

Of course it would have really impressed Putin if Duterte

had pledged to ride the jetski while shirtless.

And on a horse.

But after taking office in mid-2016,

Duterte did a full 180, but not on a jetski.

In fact, he put that jetski back in the shed to gather dust.

In Duterte's first official meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping,

he didn't even bring up the territorial disputes—

even though an international court had just ruled in the Philippines' favor.

Duterte even turned his back on long-time ally the United States

as he jumped into Xi Jinping's loving arms.

"'I announce my separation from the United States,'

those are the words of Rodrigo Duterte in Beijing on Thursday,

capping off a trip to China where he's won a whopping

13 billion dollars in business deals."

Duterte saw Chinese investment as key

to his "Build, Build, Build" strategy.

He wants to usher in a golden age of infrastructure development

through a six-year, 180 billion dollar spending spree.

And when the dust settled from Duterte's charm offensive in Beijing,

China pledged to provide the Philippines with 24 billion dollars.

That would include 15 billion in foreign direct investment,

plus 9 billion dollars in aid.

That aid alone would be 20 times more than what

the Philippines got from the United States in 2016.

So, sure the US has been an ally of the Philippines for decades,

but, I mean...billions of dollars?

For billions of dollars,

who wouldn't cuddle up with China?

But you know what?

Sometimes, China can be so forgetful!

See, when the South China Morning Post did a spot check

on China's investment commitments earlier this month,

they asked,

"What happened to the billions China pledged the Philippines?"

And it turns out the answer is…not a whole lot.

Of its 24 billion dollar pledge, China so far has made good on

only one billion worth of Foreign Direct Investment.

Add to that just a single finalized loan agreement of $73 million dollars.

And China gave the Philippines 75 million dollars in direct aid.

That was in the form of grants to build two bridges in the capital of Manila.

Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua

was at the groundbreaking ceremony last month,

holding a golden shovel alongside other men,

also dressed inappropriately for construction.

Ambassador Zhao said that "the bridge projects will further add

strength to the 'Build, Build, Build' initiative of the Philippines."

And he tried to assure everybody that "China's loans

to finance infrastructure projects will not make the Philippines

fall into a debt trap."

And you know what?

I believe him.

At least for now.

Because for the Philippines to fall into a debt trap,

China would actually have to lend them lots of money.

And so far, that tap's been pretty dry.

They've only received less than 5% of what China promised.

It's like they ordered a hamburger,

and the waiter brought them a shriveled piece of lettuce.

Now to be fair, the holdups on the money

weren't all from the Chinese Communist Party.

As the South China Morning Post points out,

some projects were delayed by the Philippines or cancelled.

And more may be coming soon.

Now on the one hand, the slowdown in investment

is actually good news for the Philippines.

It means they haven't fallen into

the Chinese Communist Party's debt trap.

Like Sri Lanka, or Pakistan, or Djibouti,

or Laos, or Cambodia, or...

well, the list goes on.

But on the other hand, in order to get the promise

of Chinese aid and investment—

even though it's unfulfilled so far—

Duterte has already made a lot of concessions

that have angered Filipinos.

At a February meeting of the Chinese Business Club,

Duterte complained that China was pinching its pennies.

So to get China to loosen its purse strings,

he joked that China should just annex the Philippines

and turn the country into a Chinese province.

"Why are you so sparing?

If you want, just make us a province, like Fujian:

Province of Philippines, Republic of China.

Problem solved.

Everything will be for free."

Everything will be free?

Maybe someone should tell Duterte

that's not how communism actually works.

Now while Duterte's joke seemed to make

the Chinese ambassador smile,

it didn't go over so well with the citizens of the Philippines.

A few months later, banners calling the Philippines

a "province of China" started popping up on bridges in Manila.

And I've got to give them props.

No, I mean, Filipinos are using lots of props

to express their anger at Duterte.

The Philippines, province of China banners

are slightly more subtle

than the guy with the "China Out" hat.

Or this effigy of the president's head tied to a makeshift train.

Which was then set on fire.

That happened on the day of Duterte's

state of the nation address in July,

when thousands took to the streets,

and not exactly to show their support.

Meanwhile, Duterte blamed bloodsucking bureaucrats

for the lack of money for his infrastructure dream.

"Corruption is like a leech that bleeds the government of funds,

programs and infrastructure and social development projects."

To be fair, people are angry at Duterte for a lot of things.

But among those things,

he's blamed for making one-sided concessions to China on sovereignty,

with nothing to show for it in return.

And it's not just Duterte's refusal to plant his flag in the South China Sea.

Which—let's be honest—even I've done that.

Duterte also proposed a highly controversial sharing deal

with China on a planned joint exploration of resources

in a part of the South China Sea that the Philippines claims.

Under the agreement,

the Philippines would get 60% and China 40%.

But critics say this is a bad deal because

it solidifies China's claim there.

But don't worry!

Duterte isn't giving up on enforcing

the Philippine's claim to the South China Sea.

He's fully committed to imposing it...

in the year 4001.

When he'll ride to the Scarborough Shoal

and plant the Philippines flag...

on a space jetski.

While shirtless.

And on a horse.

A space horse.

And before you go, it's time for me to answer another question

from a fan who supports China Uncensored

on the crowdfunding website Patreon.

David Michael White asks,

"Among your many overseas adventures,

which hotel did you like the most?"

Why, it was the Jia Jia Hotel in Taiwan!

They were super friendly and had interesting rooms,

and they were in good locations in Taipei and Tainan.

Also, I can't say no to free breakfast!

Now on one hand, I am saying that because the Jia Jia hotel

was a sponsor of China Uncensored—

and I have a lot of love and respect for

the companies that support us.

But on the other hand, I don't have much to compare it to.

The truth is,

I don't usually stay in hotels while traveling.

China Uncensored doesn't exactly have a big travel budget.

For most of our trips,

the crew and I save money by staying in people's homes,

or in AirBNBs.

But for all the hotel owners out there watching this episode,

if you have a five-star hotel and want to sponsor our crew

next time we travel,

I'm very open to updating my answer to this question.

And for everyone else watching,

what do you think about China's investment

commitments to the Philippines coming up short?

Leave your comments below.

Once again, I'm Chris Chappell.

See you next time.

Remember: China Uncensored is supported mainly through support from viewers like you.

If you can, check out our website, patreon.com/chinauncensored

and contribute a dollar or more per episode.

You'll get some neat perks, and maybe we'll answer your question on the next episode.

3 Easy Steps to Getting More Coaching Clients - Duration: 2:37.

Hi!

I'm Sharon Jurd and welcome to my Biz Blitz video and today I want to share with you three

easy steps to get more coaching clients.

As coaches, we do want more clients but we want to make sure that we get the right clients

for us and be the right coach for them as well.

Firstly, create a free offer and what I mean by that is have an eBook or some videos or

some email sequences, share some things out with these potential clients so they get to

know a little bit more about you, who you are, what you stand for, your values and how

you help people.

You want them to get to know you a bit.

Secondly, what I want you to do is offer them a free coaching session.

In my Grow Your Coaching Biz workshop, a three-day workshop I run here on the Gold Coast, I share

with you how you can do a Discovery Session.

If you don't have that training, at least offer them a free coaching session so they

get to know how it feels in your coaching sessions.

Does it suit them?

Do they feel comfortable?

Do you connect?

This makes your potential clients more relaxed, more comfortable with you to sign up and do

further work with you.

Thirdly, once you're talking to these people, know exactly what you can offer them.

And that is, what is your coaching system?

Are you going to sign them up for six months, twelve months?

Is it weekly, is it monthly, is it fortnightly?

What is it?

What is your coaching package?

And if you are very clear on that then your potential client will be very clear on what

they're getting from you once they've made the decision to work with you further.

So there are my three tips today.

Create a free offer.

South Korea, U.S. disclose revised clauses of KORUS FTA - Duration: 2:31.

The revision clauses of the South Korea-U.S. free trade deal is now made public.

All that's left is for parliament to ratify the changes, which the government wants done

by early next year.

The big question is... how will the latest result impact the local economy.

To delve deeper our Ko Roon-hee turned to an expert on the matter.

The full text of the KORUS FTA amendment that was agreed upon by Seoul and Washington in

March has been disclosed online.

South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy explained that no changes have

been made to the negotiation results that were previously revealed.

Under the revised agreement,... the U.S. will extend the length of tariffs on imports of

Korean pickup trucks by another 20 years to the year 2041.

The agreement also increases the number of vehicles that American carmakers can export

to 50-thousand vehicles per year, up from 25-thousand vehicles.

Those vehicles do not have to meet Korean safety standards as long as they meet U.S.

safety standards

An economic expert says this will not only hurt the automakers but also the overall industry...because

many firms had been preparing to enter the profitable pickup truck market.

"There are many subcontractors in the auto industry.

Some companies make components that go inside the cars.

Many will shoulder a heavy financial burden and some might even need to stop factory operations."

The two sides also agreed to make revisions to the investor-state dispute settlement system...

under which investors can sue countries for alleged discriminatory practices.

The changes will prevent the overuse of suits and protect the governments' authority.

It also includes clauses to improve the transparency of anti-dumping and countervailing duties

imposed by the U.S.

Although some believe this won't change the trade pattern between the two countries because

the revision applies to only few sectors, the expert says there are other things to

look out for.

"We should all remember that FTA does not protect South Korea from Section 232 Investigations...or

any other U.S. trade protectionist measures.

Local authorities should come up with solutions to protect local industries."

"Meanwhile..

South Korea's trade ministry said it will collect public opinion on the revised clauses

until next Monday…. before sending the revisions to parliament for approval.

Ko Roon-hee, Arirang News."

South Korea's ruling party chair says income-led growth strategies will change economic paradigm - Duration: 2:23.

As the legislature's 100-day regular session begins, the leaders of South Korea's three

main political parties will be taking turns addressing the parliament.

First to step up to the podium was the chair of the ruling bloc.

Kim Min-ji has the highlights from the National Assembly.

Achieving gross national income of over 40-thousand U.S. dollars per capita... through inclusive

growth.

Lee Hae-chan -- the chair of the ruling Democratic Party of Korea -- said the country needs new

tailored strategies for that goal -- vowing to support the government's drive for growth

led by rising incomes and innovation.

"The Moon Jae-in administration's inclusive growth model, based on rising incomes, innovation

and a fairer economy -- will be a new paradigm for the country and will open the era of 40-thousand

dollars GNI per capita."

Lee also highlighted the need for next year's record budget of 420 billion dollars -- in

order to better the quality of people's lives,... boost job growth,... improve income distribution

and expand the social safety net.

His comments come amid fierce criticism from the opposition bloc -- who claim the government's

policies are hurting job growth and burdening low-income households.

The ruling party chair, however, called for understanding that in periods of transition,

there are hard times,... and that those must be overcome through social understanding and

cooperation.

He went on to say that sustainable growth in the country will be achieved by the government's

inclusive growth model,... coupled with a peace economy on the peninsula through improved

relations with North Korea.

Along the same lines, the ruling party chair brought up the need to ratify the joint summit

declaration reached by the leaders of the two Koreas in April.

"We will do our best to get the understanding of the opposition and the people, to carry

out inter-Korean economic cooperation, and to push for North Korea's denuclearization.

The ratification of the Panmunjom Declaration can ensure that North Korea does not change

its behavior, and it can strengthen our negotiation position."

Lee also urged all parties to work together,... suggesting regular talks between their leaders.

He said he's willing to talk at any time and be flexible if it's for the good of the people.

Kim Min-ji, Arirang News.
