Early morning start for us.
What's the deal. We booked a 3 island tour
It is suppose to start at 9 o'clock for most people
For us it starts...well, we booked it for 8 o'clock
For a couple of reasons. One being
We wanna miss the rush hour traffic
so, everybody leaves at nine, we try to leave a bit earlier
Look at this scene, it's beautiful
This time of the morning is probably the best time
It's just a pity that everybody is still asleep
or perhaps that's why it's so nice, because everybody is sleeping
About 10, 11
it gets quite hot and you wanna be out of the sun
by then. We had a quick McDonald's
I know, I know, McDonald's, but you're limited on options
early in the morning other than pasta
and rice to eat
So, McDonald's it is
and it's not bad, coffee is nice
Megan!
Megan!
You had a good start this morning but it
turns out to be
not so good anymore
Southern side of Langkawi, three islands there
It includes the pregnant
mermaid lake
Eagle feeding and watching
and then a nice
secluded beach, I won't say private, but secluded
Go Megal
This is the pregnant maiden, sleeping
and on the inside, the fresh water lake
That's where we're going
First people on the
island. We left at eight and the
normal times for the tourists to leave is
9am
Put down the camera
Megan is ... lost
Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park
We're about to enter, I think it's RM8
per person or something like that
There you go, six adult
Unless you're Malaysian, I'm gonna try for that
I'm Malaysian, Rm3?
So, here in Asia
everything is about being the largest so this is
the largest fresh water lake
They don't say if it's from... in this island
or for Langkawi
or for Malaysia
I can only imagine it's for this island
because it's not that a huge lake
but we will find out soon. It's about 200m walk
10 minutes
Seems like they had a massive rockfall here not too long ago
Leaving this huge gap in the forest
and exposing the open cliffs
which is actually nice
This is fresh water. Right behind that little
edge there is the sea
And they call this the largest fresh water lake
I don't know why, becuase it's not very big. If this is the largest
I think, this country has issues
If you look to that side,
right behind the bridge, that's a very very narrow piece of rock that's dividing
this fresh water lake from the ocean
We're trying our hardest to get there, but this boat
is almost impossible to steer
It goes, it's so lagging in the direction
so if you turn left it takes about half a minute
before it starts to turn left
and then you have to
turn back already
otherwise you just go on turning left
There's our first customers
So, if you ever come here
Don't use these boats, they just don't work
The batteries don't work, the steering
is so lagged
that you can't steer it
You go nowhere slowly
It's not a big lake
but with that boat, it might be the biggest
There's a nice walkway next to the lake
that takes you to a
edge where the
ocean and the lake is separated
and it's very nice
there's no challenging
trails or whatsoever to reach there. It's really accessible
by anyone
We're approaching the
the rock edge between the lake
and the ocean
This is really spectacular to think this was once
a cave
the complete top was
covered
by the roof of the cave and it just collapsed
and now today you have this fresh water
lake, the biggest
fresh water lake in
Malaysia
This is the
ocean, beautiful here
and it's just islands all over the place which
makes it even more exotic
and amazing. It's really just truly
such a beauty to witness
and then obviously this is
not so nice, but
literally, about five meters or rock
that separates the ocean from
this fresh water lake which makes it quite unique
and very nice to visit
Amazing lake, we
really enjoyed it. It was such a nice
experience even just driving here
between all the islands, it's beautiful
It's amazing, we really enjoyed it
It is worth doing if you come to Langkawi
and you wanna see more
and just something different from the
general island lifestyle. This is just quiet
There's nobody on this island. I can see it's getting busy
now. There's a couple of boats that came in
and that's why we tried to get a head start so
since we were here, there was nobody
for the first half an hour and then slowly the
tourists started coming in, but we really enjoyed it
So, off to the next adventure which will be
the eagle's. Swimming in this lake
is absolutely amazing as well
It's not cold, it's not hot, it's probably
the same as the ocean. Probably around 30 degrees
but it's fresh water
and it's clear and it's clean which is quite nice
We really enjoyed it, the kids also had a bit of a
a dive. This is why we come early
The rush has arrived
We missed all of that just because we decided to come
early
Well, hopefully when we get to
the eagles, we will still be the first people there
A very useful tip,
if you wanna miss all of this
and experience nature and it's beauty,
come early
Don't go 9 o'clock like the rest
Come 8 o' clock
Your boat driver won't be pleased with you
but surely
skipping all these queues will be nice. You can go up here
we have a monkey in the way
This is the eagle feeding ground
They feed them with fish, I guess
Look at that. Amazing!
I was still thinking about seeing... whether we
we're gonna see an eagle or not and the next moment there was an eagle
Two species
White bellied sea eagle and then
the brown one is a bit smaller
From what I understand, it's native to the
Langkawi area
You can come to this beach here, which is not much of a beach, but it might be nicer
then it's like a private beach for you and your family
Immediately in the ocean
Crystal clear waters, this is actually very nice
Beautiful
This is the last part of our three
island tour
This is the beach they take you to
For a swim and a cool off and relaxing
Very nice beach, probably some
of the clearest water I have seen around here
Thank you for watching our video. We hope
you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed making it
Believe it or not, but our time
in Langkawi has come to an end and we have one more
surprise in store for you so please hit the subscribe
button to make sure you don't miss this. You have to
see it. Until next time. Happy Wanderlusting!
