Alright, so that's probably not going to happen when you make one of these four

mistakes that we go through today but I'll tell you one thing it will kill

your chances of actually getting hired in this video we're going to go through

those four common mistakes that we see made tell you how to prevent them from

happening so you can give yourself the very best chance of getting hired the

next time that you're in an interview so let's kick off with number one the first

thing I want you to be aware of and I want you to be very realistic about is

what you're doing with your social media it is so easy to find people social

media profiles of a facebook Instagram snapchat so much easier than you think

people think oh there's no way they're going to find it these companies even

major corporations have HR teams and they are looking at these things on the

front lines of their investigation of who you are and whether they're going to

give you an interview or not you need to be careful that I remember when I was

interviewing back with a hedge fund that can Santa Barbara for an assistant it's

incredible you google their name I wasn't even doing any high tech research

I Google their name and go to images and it pulls all these different images from

their different profiles and Instagram and it's incredible it's just not

professional so you want to put your best foot forward so understand that all

the pictures and things that you put up on the social media that can be fun but

it's also going to be seen by a lot of people who are assessing you for a

professional position so please use a little discretion when you do this

otherwise what do you think I'm going to do is the higher manager if you imagine

you're hiring for a position and the first picture that comes up is someone

with a beer hat on in a bottle of Jack drinking half of it in 15 seconds it's

not a great look people may party on the weekends but you want to put your best

foot forward so be sure to do a little internal filtering on your social media

profile these next two shouldn't even have to be addressed I know hard to

believe believe it or not it happen all the time

number two bringing your kids to a job interview

you should never under any circumstance bring your child to an interview

it showed one they are unprepared to your unorganized and three what if your

child's out there throwing papers around the Secretary's desk exactly 19 exactly

yeah it shows it's not that important to you because you're going to this job I

don't know how many jobs you can bring your kid so if you can't get a

babysitter lined up for your interview for a job that you can't take your kid

it's giving off the wrong signal to the bat so I completely agree but like she

said it's surprising how often people try to do this don't bring your kid

number three arriving late you should never arrive late to an interview

because it shows that this isn't important to you about seven minutes is

a really good complete spot because it shows that you're on time you're there

you're ready for action but if you do any earlier than that it can be annoying

your exact word there was one time where we had a couple interviews come in

interns come in for an interview and one showed up almost an hour and a half

early I want to have we were in an interview with the other person yeah

well they showed us yeah that's so early you may have like a line of people

waiting in the waiting room right like talking to each other about so that's

not what you want you're kind of thinking would you not just sit in your

car I get you know to be traffic but things are currently yeah yeah that's

not good and then it becomes a hindrance on the employer to try to you know we

have the readings should I get this person early and insisted I agree and

the seven minutes is kind of a sweet spot if you show up maybe you're 15 it's

really go to the bathroom I don't you ever read about power poses but they

show when you form really strong confident poses before you go to

interview you're actually received a lot better kill a little time in the stall

in the bathroom doing a power pose it's not that hard

grab a cup of coffee walk around but don't trip earlier in seven minutes but

even more important never show up late what does that say to potential employer

no way it's the most important meeting you probably have over the months of

this interview can't even get that right that's not only indicative of promptness

bit of your work quality in the wedding organizers life so very important not to

show up late and don't show up too early either now this last one

a bit of a challenge if you're younger you're just getting out in the workforce

and that's who should you provide as your recommendation I see so many young

kids and they provide like their parents or their sister or their friend as the

recommendation that doesn't say the right thing

find the most value the highest level person that you know even if it's a

teacher or a principal at your school they'll be happy to write a letter of

recommendation to you it shows not only that you're not so out of social savvy

that you're willing to put your parents at the recommendation but then you can

get a letter of recommendation someone if you can't get in one person who's

outside of your friends or family to write some kind words about you well

then you need to build a little bit of that up before you're applying for a

position that requires recommendations so be sure that you put your very best

recommendations out there once you get a strong recommendation that can stay with

me for the rest of your life you don't put the age you're at or the age of the

person that or how long ago the recommendation was made so spend a

little time and energy getting a really strong recommendation that may be an

asset to you in your job search for the rest of your life

now all the stuff that we're talking about makes you a bit nervous just

social interaction in general maybe it's something you're trying to improve and

with their friends at a restaurant and there's all these things going on

speed with that social interaction so you can do things like show up to job

interviews or go out for a happy hour and feel confident you can put your best

Missed Opportunities - Duration: 5:16.

- Hi, I'm Jackson Bird and I am a trash human.

(upbeat groove)

For those of you who don't know,

earlier this year I spent four months as a TED Resident.

I got to work out of their headquarters in Manhattan,

I got a lot of mentorship and resources

to launch my podcast, Transmission,

and I gave a TED Talk

which will be live on TED.com November 14.

Mark your calendars.

Now, there were a lot of cool things in the TED offices,

but one thing I noticed early on was a button maker.

And it was just sitting on one of the hallway shelves

of books that people can take,

so I was pretty sure that I could use it sometime.

Now, I am a purveyor of button culture.

I make and sell these Will It Waffle? buttons sometimes,

sometimes I make other buttons,

I like to collect all my friends' buttons,

but I don't have my own button maker.

So I always had it in my mind that I would

use that one at TED at some point,

but I never did.

I just kept putting it off and putting it off,

and then the end of the residency came and went

and I never used the button maker.

And now, a couple months later,

I have a particular button set that I would like to make

to sell at LeakyCon in Dublin later this month.

So I asked if I could go visit TED, and they said cool.

So I went into TED this morning and the button maker,

which I had walked past every single day

when I went to get a coffee from the kitchen,

and which had never moved even a millimeter

the entire four months that I was there...

was gone.

Just disappeared.

I poked around a bit to try to find where it was

and I asked a couple of people and no one knew.

And not just did no one know;

in fact, everyone said that they never even

knew TED had a button maker.

No one knew what I was talking about.

I am 90% sure I did not make this up.

I know it might show up in time,

but I just got really frustrated with myself

for putting it off for so long.

I should have used it while I was there every day

and it was clearly available and existing.

And I know it's not a big deal,

it's a freaking button maker,

but I was just disappointed in myself

for my continual poor planning and procrastination.

And so I started spiraling into all the other times

that I've blown more serious real opportunities.

Like the recent speaking gig I missed out on

because I waited a few too many days to reply to the email

and by then it was too late.

Or the time a YouTube video of mine got picked up

by a legit Hollywood producer

who called me on the phone and asked what I wanted

and I said nothing.

I had nothing.

I didn't have a script in my back pocket,

I didn't have a short film for him to distribute.

I had no idea what I wanted to do

with my future or with my life,

so I just said nothing

and that relationship eventually withered away.

Or how when I was transferring colleges,

I never even applied to be a film major

because I didn't think my portfolio was good enough.

I had things to put in that portfolio

but I didn't believe in myself so I didn't even try.

And there's been a couple of times I've been

going out for a cool scholarship or something

and the application process has been going really well

but then I didn't prepare hardly at all for the interview

and so I totally blew it.

Or how about when I studied so little

for the written portion of my driver's permit test

that I failed it and had to wait six months

before I could take it again.

So not only was I already the youngest person in my grade,

I had to wait an additional six months

to get my driver's license because of my own

stupid, poor planning.

(sighs) I just get frustrated with myself

for doing stuff like this.

And some of it isn't my fault,

some of it is just the way the cookie crumbles,

just how life goes.

But I definitely need to work on some things.

But every time this happens

I definitely take it as a wake up call,

which I guess I just keep pressing "sleep" on that

because it's not working,

but maybe I will actually wake up this time.

Maybe the button maker has done it.

I try to learn and grow from these opportunities,

and I think I am a little bit more.

Whether it was me messing up

or just the way that things happened,

I try to find the silver lining or solutions.

You know, like, maybe it was good I didn't go to film school

because I actually really appreciate

the liberal arts degree that I got,

and in hindsight I don't think I would have wanted

to entirely be a film major.

And as for today, well, you know,

maybe the button maker will show up eventually,

but until then, I've already coordinated

with a friend who owns a button maker to help me out.

And you know once upon a time,

things like this would have really torn me up.

I think it's a combination of growing up

and being in a better mental health place

and having a better support system,

but I can kinda see the big picture better now

and see those opportunities to learn

and make solutions out of problems

and not feel totally defeated when I mess up.

Which is good, because I still mess up a lot.

But I am trying to be better.

I guess that's all any of us can do.

So today I want to hear your stories.

3 Quick and Easy Salad Recipes | Rice , Potato and Pasta (Spanish - Englis SUB) - Duration: 11:40.

Hello everyone how are you?

I'm looking forward to preparing Teach ye recipes today.

And yes, you heard right, today I'm going teach preparing recipes because

I have prepared a video with three salads different are very rich, are prepared

at a time and also you can leave the made overnight.

You'll see these salads are great to consume in summer, as in any

time of the year.

And I do not want to entertain more introduction because I want this video

not too long once you step with recipe:

And here you have all the ingredients for preparing the first of salads which

It will be a rice salad.

We started putting a pot on the fire abundant water.

We put a little salt and add the rice Basmati.

We give a few laps with the spoon and let the rice is cooked for 10 minutes.

5 FUN MINECRAFT MODS! - Top Minecraft Mods for 1.12 (#3) - Duration: 8:50.

Hey there!

What's going on guys?!

I'm back again, with another 5 Fun Minecraft Mods for 1.12 video.

You guys have seemed to enjoy these videos so I'm going to continue sharing

some mods with you guys for the time being.

I've been switching off between Fun mods and Useful mods but if you have any suggestions

for a category of mods, please feel free to suggest it in the comments and I may or

may not get to recording that for you!

To start off, I have a mod that has actually been featured on my channel in the past.

In a video featuring mods for 1.11, I added in the Parachute mod.

Well the Parachute mod, luckily for us, has been updated to Minecraft

versions 1.12 and 1.12.1.

I've liked the Parachute Mod for a long time.

The parachutes were almost like the elytra before

the elytra was actually added to vanilla Minecraft.

With some obvious differences between them but you get what I'm saying.

The parachute's crafting recipe is very easy to achieve if you're playing survival.

A simple collection of 3 wool, 2 pieces of string, and one piece of leather will be enough

for you to craft the parachute.

In previous versions, you need to craft an AAD and ripcord

but that has been changed since then.

Additionally added in the mod, for builds 324 and up, are waypoints.

There are a few waypoint commands that you can use in-game

if that interests you.

Overall, I just find the Parachute mod as a fun mod that allows you not only to move

around in the sky but allows you to do some interesting different

sky obstacle courses or similar things.

You can be creative with it.

It's a pretty fun mod.

Recently updated to include Minecraft version 1.12.1, the Doggy Talents Mod has a number

of different features for you to try out!

There are 19 unique talents you can give your dog, a dog leveling system, you can play fetch

with your dog, there are dyeable collars of any

color, you can care for your dog with beds, food bowls and more, you can track your dogs

on a radar, there's a new hunger system, and there's plenty of more features for you

to check out too.

So what I'm saying is, this mod adds a lot.

I mentioned that there are 19 talents for dogs in this mod...

Just a few of those talents are a Rescue Dog that

helps you heal if you're in critical health, a Creeper Sweeper which helps kill creppers

in the area, and a Hell Houndwhich lets your dog set things on fire when it attacks.

So this is a really interesting mod that really changes the way dogs function in Minecraft.

It's something that would be an interesting mod within a modpack and, I guess, even

just something to play around with in your free-time.

Like I said, this mod adds a lot and it's a really cool way to make dogs interesting

in Minecraft.

The Level Up Mod is a class and skills system for Minecraft.

It pretty much transforms Minecraft into an MMORPG type of game with it's features.

Level Up has 13 different classes that you can choose from as soon as

you meet the level requirements for them.

These classes include Miner, Spelunker, Archaelogist, Hermit, Warrior, Scout, Assassin,

Zealot, Artisan, Farmer, Lumberjack, Fisherman, and Freelancer.

Alongside classes, there are also 12 skills including Mining, Swords, Defense, Woodcutting,

Smelting, Archery, Athletics, Cooking, Sneaking, Farming, Fishing,

and Digging.

With a useful GUI system, this mod creates some more challenges within Minecraft for

you to try to achieve by leveling up in the game.

Simiilar to McMMO or similar plugins, this mod just adds in another aspect to Minecraft

for you to have fun with while playing survival.

So it sort of gives you that, like I said, MMORPG type of feel for

McMMO type of feel if you enjoy those types of servers.

AtomicStryker's Battle Towers mod has been a popular addition to mod-packs for a very

long time now.

It adds in another exploration aspect into Minecraft and a bit of a

challenge for you to attempt.

Battle Towers adds in a number of different types of towers to work towards getting to

the top, collecting loot, and defeating a boss.

With spawners featuring different mobs throughout

the spawner, there is a challenging aspect of this mod that is really fun and sometimes

can cause a bit of rage if you aren't actually prepared to take on the tower.

If you decide to keep the spawners, rather than destroying them, the battle towers in

this mod can also be useful as a mob farm or

an XP farm.

As I've already said, this mod adds in something that is worth exploring for.

It provides something new to come across while running around in Minecraft.

It's always nice to have new things to explore

and new challenges to complete while playing Minecraft.

Battle Towers adds that, like I said.

This mod has been popular for a very long time.

And I don't see it ever not being popular as long as it's updated.

Just the aspect of a tower to explore and try to defeat is something that is always

going to have it's place in Minecraft for a modded experience.

The final mod, on it's surface, doesn't look like anything too crazy.

In fact, the Tumbleweed mod, quite literally just adds tumbleweed into Minecraft.

However, what the tumbleweed itself actually adds into the game

is what's fun about this mod.

Tumbleweeds spawn around dead bushes in hot, dry biomes like the desert.

They will drop random goodies upon harvesting them.

Item drops are customizable through the config file but by default, you may recieve bones,

dead bushes, string, feathers, wheat, sticks, sugar cane, melon seeds, pumpkin seeds, gold

nuggets, name tags, saddles, emeralds, diamonds, iron ingots, or gold ingots.

So just by harvesting a tumbleweed in the desert,

you can end up recieving a diamond.

Like I said, it is customizable too, so you can really end up adding some more useful

items based on your mod-pack.

It's a really small addition to the game.

But the asthetics and just excitement of getting some good loot with the mod is what makes

this mod great.

I showed the Bird Nest mod in a previous video and this sort of has the same aspect

of getting something off of something small or a more realistic type of lucky block situation.

Not really the excitement of a lucky block but just the aspect of getting

something in Minecraft is cool, I guess.
