Youtube daily Aug 2 2017

-You started here and got your big start in New York

because it was in the kind of cabaret alt-comedy scene.

But, I mean, all my friends know you

and like, "Oh, Bridgett Everett's the best!"

-Aw, that's really sweet. -How did you start doing those?

-Well, I actually started doing karaoke.

[ Laughs ]

-It started with karaoke? -Yeah.

-All good things start with karaoke.

-Well, a lot of people don't know --

That's true. A lot people think karaoke's sad

but I think it's wonderful.

[ Laughter ]

-I love it, man, I love it.

-I mean, if you don't see a mental healthcare professional

like I do, like, that's where you're gonna work it out.

[ Laughter ]

-It's fun! So, you just started there

and then people were like, "Hey, you got a good voice"?

-Yeah, basically. It was like from there to here.

Two weeks ago, I was singing karaoke

on the Lower East Side, and now I'm here.

[ Laughter and applause ] -I love Sing Sing!

I know that! -It's so good, right?

-Absolutely, yeah, yeah. So, you just go

and you do your jams, and then you ended up, like...

I know you did a lot of shows at Joe's Pub.

-Yeah, I work at Joe's Pub a lot, and I'm a cabaret singer.

And I know that "cabaret" is a very cool,

almost like a hot buzz word right now. [ Laughs ]

-[ Laughing ] Yeah, exactly.

-I remember I was at this comedy festival

with my friend Adam,

who happens to be Ad-Rock of the Beastie Boys.

I'm just dropping that right now.

But we're riding around, and everybody's like, "Oh!

What are you guys here for?" And he's like, "Oh, she's

a cabaret singer." I was like, "Shut up!"

[ Laughter ]

-"Come on! Please don't tell anybody."

He's so cool. He can do cabaret.

People are like, "Yeah! Ad-Rock does cabaret, man!

It's cool," you know?

But when I do it, they're like, "That's that waitress from

the Upper West Side, right?"

[ Laughter ]

-But you have a motto which is "DDHD" or something like that?

What is that? -Well, actually,

I'm sure you've heard of LL Cool J before, right?

-Absolutely, yeah. I love him.

-He told me -- Well, he didn't tell me,

he told Oprah. [ Laughter ]

He told Oprah...

-So many names are dropping right now.

I'm freaking out right now.

He told Oprah? Where were you with LL Cool J and Oprah?

-I was at home watching "Lifeclass."

-Oh. [ Laughter ]

Interesting. That's where Oprah airs, yes.

-And basically, she's like, "LL, how do you do it?

Your empire -- You got your fragrance empire

and you're on these television shows

and you're a rapper and you're a mogul."

And he's like, "Oprah, DDHD."

And I was like, "What just happened?"

-I love that you licked your lips, yeah.

-And he has the best lips in the world.

If I saw them, I would just touch them.

[ Laughter ]

But "DDHD" stands for "Dreams Don't Have Deadlines."

-Oh!

-It's so tired, right? But it's true.

When you're 42 years old waiting tables, you're like,

"DDHD." I got tattoo, tattoo, tattoo, tattoo, tattoo.

[ Laughter ]

-But man, oh, man, you've been crushing it.

What a great summer! You have two giant movies out.

-Giant! -Well, they are!

I mean, you got "Fun Mom Dinner,"

which is Molly Shannon, Toni Collette.

I mean, it is super fun.

Adam Levine, Adam Scott, all kinds of people.

-Yeah, and moms should have fun!

That's the way it's -- Yeah. It's what you want it to be.

-It's so much fun. -Oh, it's ridiculous.

It's great. And then you have "Patti Cake$."

-Yeah, "Patti Cake$" is --

Oh, you were gonna say something.

I interrupted you. It's your show.

It's like I'm at your house and I'm telling you what to say.

I'm sorry! -No, what are you talking about?

-I didn't even bring you a gift. -No, I want you to talk!

-I didn't bring you anything! I didn't know, I'm sorry.

-You don't bring me a gift.

-No, no, Quest told me, he's like, "Bring Jimmy nuts

or chocolate bars."

-"Bring Jimmy nuts"?

[ Laughter and applause ]

-I'm kidding. -What are you talking about?

[ Laughter ]

"Bring Jimmy nuts"? Don't bring Jimmy nuts!

I don't want any nuts!

-I don't want any nuts. I'm very happy that you're here.

I don't need nuts. [ Laughter ]

-Everybody likes nuts. I love nuts!

-I know you love nuts. -I love nuts.

[ Laughter and applause ]

Oh, my God. I'm single.

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

[ Funky music plays ]

-All right. Hey! Ho! Hey!

[ Both laugh ]

-Oh, my God.

-Let's talk about -- So, you have "Fun Mom..."

[ Laughter ]

-The Roots just played for me while I danced!

-"Fun Mom Dinner." -Yeah, bring me back.

-You have "Patti Cake$." -Okay, I'm back.

-"Patti Cake$," but this is about a rapper --

Patti Cake$, and that's your daughter in the movie,

and you play the mom.

-Yeah, I totally don't have a daughter in real life,

but if I did, it would be Patti Cake$

because she's --

She's, like, a -- She's a rapper.

She lives in New Jersey, she's got big dreams,

and it's kind of like

if you took, like, "Rudy" and "8 Mile" and you made like a --

And "Rocky" and you made a movie, that's what you get.

-Yeah. Because you really do root for her.

-You root for her. It's a -- I think it's a great movie.

And I'm really proud to be a part of it.

-I want to show a clip.

Here's Bridget Everett in "Patti Cake$."

Take a look at this.

-Come on. -There you go.

-Come on. Drink up.

-[ Laughs ]

-One more. -Yeah. Hey.

It's a marathon, not a sprint.

-No?

No. -Mnh-mnh.

-What you got? Your [bleep] period or something?

-Whoa! -Whoa!

-Oh, my God, sweetheart.

-Oh!

I didn't even know it. -[ Laughs ] Exactly.

Well, you're getting great reviews for this.

Thanks for doing that.

You know, I always say all good nights begin with karaoke

and they also end with karaoke.

Alexis Bledel Acted Her Upper Face Off in The Handmaid's Tale - Duration: 5:39.

-It's very lovely to see you here,

to see you looking so lovely,

because the show is very -- it's a very dark show.

-It's very dark. It's very intense, yeah.

-And for those who don't know, it's sort of set

in the dystopian future, sort of the near future,

which makes it even a little bit harder.

And this is sort of a male dominated society.

Uh, is it -- like, did it take so much out of you to do it?

-Oddly, no. It was, like, a great working experience.

I mean, it didn't feel the way it feels to watch it.

I have a really hard time watching it.

I feel very tortured at the end of an episode.

I have to, like, watch something else, like take a break.

But filming it was an incredible creative experience.

I mean, it was just so satisfying and lovely.

-That's great, and it's a fantastic cast, obviously.

-Yes. -You did have a --

I feel like you had a limitation on your character

that no one else did, because your character

is a gender traitor.

And for those who don't know,

gender traitors then have to wear these masks

over their mouth, which I would imagine

as an actor, is a bit -- a little bit limiting.

-Yeah, don't have the lower half of your face there.

-Yeah!

-It was an incredible challenge, actually.

I was so excited about it, oddly.

And I don't know, it was really freeing in a way, just to have,

you know, movement and just your, you know, eyes and looks

and -- to work with. -Yeah.

It looked like the top half of your face had been waiting

your whole life for that, because --

-I think it was the fear of being the weakest link

on such an amazing show. -Oh, that's interesting.

I never thought about that, but when you're watching

everybody else crush it, you must -- yeah, you --

-Yeah, you're kind of charged with that like,

"Don't mess this up." Like, you gotta --

-Yeah, 'cause someone -- look, on any cast,

someone's going to be the worst ones.

-I don't know, I mean, yeah, I think everyone on the show

is amazing, luckily, but, yeah,

it's definitely a very real fear.

-The other thing which I think helped your face acting,

which was so exceptional -- -[ Laughs ]

-For real, there are extreme close-ups on this show.

-The camera gets so close, it's not even a foot away

from your face sometimes.

I think I was looking at my lines once,

kind of just getting the lines just right, and I look up

and the camera's right there.

I'm like, whoa!

But he was like, "This -- yeah, this is what we're going to do."

I was like, "All right, all right,

"I love the look of the show.

Whatever you need to do, I'm going to be fine."

-And on that -- you know, obviously, the show

is hard to watch because of the subject matter.

When you watch it, is an extreme close-up as an actor

even harder to watch of yourself?

-Whew! I mean, yeah, it's an intense show

to watch anyway, so then, yeah, I think I'm glad

I'm not in every scene, because my scenes kind of come and go

and I can watch the rest of the narrative,

and I can enjoy everyone else's story line.

Especially, you know, toward the end of the first season,

I wasn't in a lot of it, and I was just dying

to know what happened, 'cause I didn't have those scripts.

-Of course.

-So, I really enjoyed those episodes.

-And this is really exciting, we were talking backstage.

You are going to be a season regular for season two...

-Yes. -...which is great.

[ Cheers and applause ] -I'm so excited.

-And...

it's especially great

not only because I was so invested in your character,

but a lot of characters on this show don't --

well, they're not going to make it to season two.

-Ooh, I know, it's so rough.

I can't believe I get to come back

because my character, um... -Yeah.

-...does not make it in the book.

So it's -- it's -- yeah, it's incredibly exciting.

Unexpected. So I'm -- yeah.

I can't wait to get back to work.

-When Elisabeth Moss was here, she was saying that

sort of the hat -- what do you guys call 'em?

-Bonnets. -Yeah, the bonnets.

That's a normal word that I should've known.

-Totally everyday thing, yes.

-Now, what does the future call those? Bonnets.

-[ Laughing ] -Interesting.

But she said one of the things --

it was actually difficult to find the other actors,

because it does -- unless you're straight on --

Was that true?

-It's completely true. We had a --

we had a scene where we had to kind of merge

with a bunch of other handmaids going to the Salvaging.

This really brutal scene.

And I had to find Lizzie as she walked up.

And you can't, yeah, you can't kind of sneak around that thing.

It's like a full covered -- -[ Laughs ] Yeah.

-So I had to make a very deliberate head movement

to find her. I had to time it out just right.

I was like, it was almost like a song.

I was just counting it off in my head.

I was like, "Lizzie --" and I messed it up like one time.

I was like, "no!" -[ Laughs ]

-I had to go back. -Yeah, 'cause they're so --

They're less like bonnets, and more like the things

dogs wear after a surgery. -They really are.

-Like they really are, like, limiting.

-Yeah, they're very extreme.

Just like a cone, actually. Yeah.

-So this show, obviously, is very different

from "Gilmore Girls."

Thankfully, because... I think.

[ Cheers and applause ] -It would have been --

It would have been such a bummer if,

when "Gilmore Girls" finally came back, it was like this.

And we'd have been like, "Oh, no!"

-Like, what happened? -What happened?

So much went wrong for these "Gilmore Girls."

But when you auditioned for the show,

which obviously was such a fantastic part,

such an important part of your career,

was it true that you had the flu when you auditioned

for "Gilmore Girls"?

-For "Gilmore Girls"? Yeah, I was very sick.

I was a student at NYU, and they kept calling me back

up to audition.

I think I went, like, six times.

And oddly, I wasn't, you know, a very seasoned actor at all.

I didn't know the process.

But this was actually unusual anyway.

And they -- I grew a tad bit impatient.

I was like -- I got a little --

I had a little attitude. -Uh-huh.

-And our boss really liked that a lot.

-[ Laughs ] -She's like, "That's our girl."

I was like, "Are you guys going to hire --

Are you going to bring me back again or..."

And she was like, "I like that, that's perfect."

I was like, "Okay." -That's great.

I do think that's probably not a lesson to teach other actors.

Like, you've got to go in there and be like,

"Tick tock, everybody,

I've got places to be." -Yeah.

-My career is highly unusual.

If anything, I've learned it's very, very strange.

-All right. Well, I'm glad it's worked out for you,

both on that show and this.

Holiday Scoop 8: Hand Luggage Hacks & a Mixology Challenge - Duration: 12:14.

What's happening guys? We're Craig and Aimee and you are watching icelolly.com's Holiday Scoop!

So today we will be revealing some of our most useful hand luggage hacks

and also trying our hand at mixology in a cocktail making challenge!

You're going down, I'm going to win every single challenge.

You guys can also win a night out at The Alchemist. I've never been, but I've heard really good things.

So here it is. Here are our most helpful hand luggage tips and tricks.

OK, so the first one I am coming at you with, is those small plastic bottles.

You don't want to take away loads of liquids, like shampoo is really heavy

and you know you can probably get it out there, but you've got a special brand you like

put them in all little plastic bottles and they come usually in a nice little clear package

And then just tuck it away. Nice, sorted - clean and tidy.

What's the limit, though?

100 milliliters. Don't forget that, because if it is over you're going to lose your shampoo

and you're going to be fuming.

What if I lose all really expensive conditioner? I was like, but you can't take that though, cause it was like 15 quid!

Who pays 15, you paid 15 quid for conditioner? No, it was really cheap.

Next hand luggage packing tip and this should be a no-brainer, but you have to roll your clothes.

There's no other way of packing, don't be doing any of this flat stuff.

Roll everything as small as it will go, and you will get more in your bag.

Don't do what this kid does and just pile it up and then stamp on it.

If you are rolling, what I tend to do to separate my stuff,

is I'll roll up all my t-shirts and then I have a cotton bag.You can get packing cubes, but I tend to

they like, morph into your bag,

Hold it there. Craig, what did you buy me for my birthday this year?

I don't know. What did I buy you?

You bought me a clothing bag, to put my dirty washing in.

Yeah.. So what?

Who wants that for their birthday?

Unbelievably ungrateful. You used it every day on your trip.

And you left the price on, 99p..

Such a cheapskate.

Roll your t-shirts up and then you can keep all your t-shirts in one bag.

and all your pants in one bag, so instead of being like

looking through it all and being all messy, you can pull out your t-shirt bag and be like here's my t-shirts.

and if you're really creative, get one of those tip-ex pens and just write t-shirt on it and keep them all in there

Don't write on a cotton bag with tip-ex because it will come right off or you'll write on your t-shirts..

Probably my best advice for listening to advice is don't take any advice Aimee gives you.

So, save your underwear and your swimsuits and your gadgets and cables and all that

for the end, so that's there always like little holes and you can just shove them in there.

An obvious tip is, make sure you check the dimensions of whomever you're flying with

because they can be really brutal and overcharge you or just not let you take your bag on

so make sure you know who you're flying with and what size your bag can be.

Because there's nothing worse than taking a bag that's too big

and they're like mate you've got to pay like 600 pounds to get that there and back.

Do you know my mum had to snap the wheels off hers

to get it in? She wasn't having any of it. She's Irish, she was going to fight people.

She had to snap the wheels off and she jammed it and she was like, so there.

There you go. Listen to Helen Bannister - if you can't get your bag in, just snap it.

Top tip.

Another one for packing or just luggage in general is

if you're going to buy like, a hand luggage bag, chances are there might be ten other people with the same one.

So I always mark mine, like I draw a big crown on it or a big bandanna or a ribbon or something like that.

Just so you know what's yours.

And write your name on it as well. You'd be surprised, you might lose your hand luggage

and if then your address and number is on there, happy days.

For this week's challenge, we've been joined by Yanis from The Alchemist Cocktail bar

and he's gonna give us a crash course in mixing drinks.

So we're going to try our best to recreate his cocktails and the best effort will be the winner!

You're going down mate. Probably.

Welcome, Yanis!

Yay! Hi guys, thanks for having me.

First off, what we're going to do

And we're going to make a screwball

What we're going to use is two counts of apple juice and two counts of lime juice.

Absolute raspberry and blue curacao, which is orange liqueur

Nice, nice.

Bubblegum syrup, with white chocolate cream

Grab our shakers.

Yeah? On top of your shoulder.

Ice.

Get the strainer, hold it like that.

Wow.

again white chocolate cream

little bit on one side

nice cherry on top

I thought that was marmite when you first brought it out

Enjoy.

Aimee can't drink this, because she doesn't eat chocolate, so I'm trying it for you. I'll smell it.

Terrible. Can I smell it?

So good. So delicious. It smells amazing. It smells really sweet as well, doesn't it?

Let us begin. So, ice.

It's alright, no? OK, calm down, calm down.

Just move out of the way, I need to be able to move freely.

So lime juice, and the other thing.

Pour, one - two - three.

And then the vodka and the blue, ah, what was it?

OK, release. One - two - three. And the vodka, one - two - three - four.

Did you use to drink in a park?

I think we all used to drink in a park. It came out of my nose that one time, not too keen on that one.

Cream, okay, It's not cream, it's white chocolate. It's white chocolate cream.

Put the ice in.

Oh, hey! Wonderful.

Okay. Oh, the strainer.

Ehhh, ahhh! No, it's good.

Looks a bit.. Oh, there's bits in it, though..

It's a bit lumpy. That's about half a glass, isn't it? Where's the rest of it?

That's all that's coming out. Cream. Looks like a ..., doesn't it?

Definitely going to break something soon.

All down the side.

Yeah, yeah.

Taa-daaa!

There we go. How about that, then?

How am I going to drink it?

Here's a straw for you, ok?

Come on, do the taste test.

Is it strong?

That is actually really good. Better than Yanis'?

A little bit better, yeah.

There's a job in here for me somewhere.

OK, so now I'm going to make the Battenberg cocktail and it's going to be better than Aimee's Screwball.

Take the Battenberg Air and we're going to put around 50 – 100ml in this glass.

What is that?

That's Battenberg Air, you will see what's going on.

Does it smell real sweet? Yeah.

Oh, like marzipan you know. Woah!

Oh yeah you could get high of that, couldn't you?

You stick this in here, What's that?!

This creates oxygen.

As soon as I press this button, it will start to make bubbles and you will see a foam coming up.

Right.

So you could make the drink, strain it into the glass and then scoop out the bubbles and lay them on the top.

The actual drink doesn't take like Battenberg but the foam does

Oh really. Well, this is posh!

So, lime two, yeah? One - two.

Rum and Passion fruit, four. One - two - three - four.

Then we have orange juice, a double dab.

Grenadine

And that's your actual drink. And then you press this button.

So while that is making the foam, put some ice in your glass.

Put it in the shaker.

Nice. Take this one out. Put a scoop in.

That's great. Go on then Craig, you go.

Is it good? It's really good, yeah.

It's weird having it through that foam.

You never really usually drink a cocktail through foam, but that's really good.

Oh, that's lovely. That's probably the type of thing that I would order.

Yeah? That's good that, isn't it?

It's quite fruity and fresh for the summer.

I do my little Battenberg first. This is the right one, isn't it?

50 to 100ml.

You make it look a bit special?

One thousand, two thousand. One - two - three - four.

One count grenadine, yeah? Just on the side a little bit.

I'm doing the best cocktail you've ever had.

Don't let you're foamy thing overflow, bro.

I'll just try this one again, so that I can make sure I can tell the difference.

It's the same colour. I'm doing alright, I think.

Come on, give it a bit of a whirl.

And that's that, no straws.

Test taste? It does look good.

It's pretty decent.

It's quite strong.

That's going to wet my nose though, you'll have a point deducted for that.

Uch, oof, Craig!

Wow. That's a little bit stronger than the last one.

Let me try.

Out of 10? It's good. Out of 10?

I can give you, 7 out of 10. 7? That's alright, I'll take that.

Yanis, did you try mine when I did it?

You probably don't want to try it now, though, it's a bit curdled!

Give it a little mix, it'll be alright. You reckon?

OK, moment of truth! Who'se is going to be better?

Out of ten. Out of ten? I can give you an eight.

[Celebrates] She's only gone and done it!

Take a bow, thank you very much!

香港 趴趴走 part 1 | HONG KONG TRIP with Angeline - Duration: 5:28.

Every school holiday/semester break

I will definitely go travelling

And this time,

I went Hong Kong

this trip is special because of their company

The first thing to do after landing is, of course, rushing to mc donald

I have ordered

A signature Garden Breeze Grilled Chicken Burger

It was so juicy and tender!!

Even though the place that I stayed in

looked dirty and messy on the outside

when you enter the studio, it looks completely different.

I rented this studio room through airbnb

and it's located in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The first day,

we just strolled around Tsim Sha Tsui area

due to time constraint. We dropped by a restaurant

named Australia Dairy Co.

The white bread served

is thick but it's so soft

Also not forgetting my favourite

milk tea without sugar

They say, you get to experience Hong Kong culture

including fast-paced of life and table sharing

And I

can absolutely feel it

Travelling with my brother is all about food

and more food!!!

This squid ball noodle soup

is super delicious

How delicious is it?

the noodle is thin, chewy, not too soft and doesn't have the taste of flour at all

Most importantly, the squid ball is

bouncy, chewy, not too salty and fresh!

I strongly recommend Green Tea Lava Cake with Ice cream served here

When people come to Wong Tai Sin temple,

they will usually pray and draw divination sticks.

And I

am not exception

For me, Nan Lian Garden is a must-visit place

it is also my mum's favourite visited place

We spent almost 2 hours

to finish visiting this place

I guess, now you can imagine how big the place is

The stuff there told us that,

you can see chi-lin nunnery and

the bridge on the pond are arranged in a straight line

symbolising we, as a human, should be a loyal, honest person

So why whould i say like here very much?

The main reason is because

of its location, situated in the middle of tall buidings

it's like in the busy city,

you are still able to seek peace.
