Hillsong United: Why Focusing On Your 'Ta-Da' Moment Is Wasting a Whole Lot of Time - Duration: 2:34.- I feel like in the process of making this album, I don't know,
there was over, like, the best part of a year
so there's so many moments we weren't all there for all of them,
but I do remember the very final night, slash morning.
- Yeah.
We were in a fight.
- I remember - She was in the booth
- Chapter 12 -It was the last night in Australia,
in seven months I've probably seen the sunrise definitely more times.
- I think for us, you know, we have our last album, "Wonder".
I look at the album and I love it,
but the only reason it exists is because of the process.
It is what will define,
I know it's kind of simple, but it's actually mind-blowing,
that the process, the journey,
will determine what the product is,
so I would measure the success by the journey.
- I would agree with JD that
the process, I think, is so much more important
than the actual
"ta-da"
like, here it is moment because I feel like,
- Like "ta-da". - The "ta-da" moment is so small
compared to, like, the process as a process,
and I feel like if you focus more on the "ta-da" moment then
I don't know, like, then you're wasting a whole lot of time.
- Because the outcome of a project like "Wonder" is,
it begins a year ago, conversations, thinking, dreaming.
It's hundreds of hours spent editing, like,
whole bunch of people in so many ways, like, figuring out, it comes together.
So the process ends, in some respects, with here is this product
and then that goes, and then once it's gone
we can't do anything about it anymore.
It's,
It's done, that part of it's done,
so you have to let go of it,
and if you attach now, all of our identity, and self-esteem, and sense of like,
you know, who we are,
to how that goes or how its interpreted
like you're setting yourself up for a fail whether it's
massive success or not, because if it's a massive success
come next time you sit and go: "How we're going to top it?"
And when it doesn't,
then what? Do you give up?
And if it doesn't do well,
do you go: "Okay maybe I'm not meant to do this,
you know because we gave it everything and it didn't go well."
You have to, like, anchor yourself to something
that is it got a longer view.

War Thunder: The Shooting Range | Episode 59 - Duration: 15:00.The Shooting Range
In this episode…
The story of the Republic P-43 Lancer
Just one step away from becoming the Thunderbolt
A new set of fantastic user-made scenarios that you can find at live.warthunder.com!
Hotline: the developers answer questions that you've left in the comments!
But first, let's start with…..
In defence of the Medium Tank M4 Sherman, the versatile veteran of armored warfare!
Pages of History The Soviet Shermans
The Medium Tank M4 Sherman…
It saw everything.
It fought almost everywhere, from the African deserts to the Russian snowy fields.
But, while it is adored in the West, it's not that popular in the former Soviet Republics
where it saw heavy use, thanks to the Lend-Lease Act.
It is often said that the tank was not very reliable, prone to catching fire
didn't perform well off-road; that the T-34 was better, more reliable
Russian women are prettier and my dad is cooler than your dad! Right…
Anyway, let's compare these two.
Tanks… not dads!
In fact, the Americans produced a few different modifications of the Sherman.
The main difference was in the type of the engine.
The one we are interested in, is the M4A2 tank
with a 410hp diesel engine, made by General Motors.
The American troops mostly fought on the Shermans, equipped with petrol engines
while the dieselones were shipped to the UK and the USSR.
All in all, the Allies sent the Soviet Army about four thousand Shermans
and half of them had a 76-mm gun.
Since those tanks fought alongside the T-34s, the obvious comparison comes to mind.
Let's start with the armament.
The 75mm M3 gun was, on the whole, better than the Soviet F-34.
For starters, it came with ammunition of a better quality
which allowed for higher penetrating power.
Also, it had really good HE-shells.
The three-man turret provided good observability.
It was sufficiently roomy... almost comfy.
The transmission allowed for somewhat smoother driving and the gun was equipped with a stabilizer,
both of which increased firing effectiveness.
If we look at the later Shermans, they came with a good 76mm gun
which was better at wrecking enemy tanks than the Soviet 85mm gun installed on the T-34-85
Once again, the quality of the ammo played a big part in that.
The Soviet tankers also appreciated the machine-gun mounted on the top of the turret.
So, the armament of the Shermans was pretty damned good.
The next factor we're going to consider is the mobility.
At first, you'd think the T-34 is a clear winner here, as it has a better power-weight ratio
but let's not forget that the Sherman has a better transmission and is easier to drive.
According to the actual reports, these tanks proved to be reliable, sufficiently fast and easy to maintain
and capable of covering thousands of kilometers without a single malfunction.
The armour.
Well, the front is a bit thicker, the sides are a bit thinner, but all in all
it's pretty much the same thing.
You might say, "What about those unfortunate ammo racks that can be found in the track shoulders?"
To be fair, that was a problem — but only on the early models of the tank.
The later ones, that were equipped with a 76mm gun,
saw their ammo racks put to the floor, near the universal shaft.
There aren't a lot of places that have better protection than that.
The last thing.
The Sherman has a little supplementary engine connected to a power unit.
It allows the tankers to charge vehicle batteries without starting the main engine.
This thing alone did wonders for engine life — and Soviet tankers loved it.
So… as it happens, the Sherman was actually quite a reliable, mobile and well armed machine.
Not surprisingly, it turned out to be the Soviet troops' favourite foreign tank.
So don't believe all the flak the Sherman sometimes receives:
it was a good vehicle for good soldiers.
Now let's get back to the treasure trove that is live.warthunder.com
and see what new exciting scenarios can be found there.
Special User-made missions
The first mission is a fantastic high speed race track created by the user called Kruggly
on the Pacific Hidden Base map.
It has a lot of vertical drops and sudden turns, so you'll have to be extra careful
(even though the track isn't that difficult on the whole).
What's nice is that the scenario can be used to race with your friends.
Just keepin mind that the spawns might be a little too close together
when you have multiple people on track!
Sonoda_Kotori did a fantastic job bringing Naval Battles closer to the community
by creating a huge sea range—with ships and everything!
Well, kind of.
You can't get on these beasts, but you can see how they look in the game — and even
shoot at them with your trusty tank.
Or park your PT-76 right next to any of them.
The flight version of the same mission is... a bit trickier.
All these vessels, from torpedo boats to destroyers, from submarine chasers to a sailboat
start firing at you, the very second you appear on the map.
A good exercise, we think… it takes a lot of skill to evade their shots.
Try it out!
The next scenario, created by the user called kololz
also lets you see all kinds of boats presented in War Thunder.
The difference is that...all these ships are hostile even if you're driving a tank!
They will attack you with everything they have.
How many of them can you sink under heavy fire?
Grab a couple of friends and see if you can survive the onslaught
Spoiler alert: you can't—but you can have loads of fun dying.
Goodness knows… we had.
What happens when a couple of immigrants set their sights on creating an ultimate
high altitude fighter aircraft?
Let's see...
Pages of History P-43A-1 Lancer
It looked almost as if Kartveli and Seversky were getting the laugh on their peers.
In 1935, when the whole world was busy designing sleek aircraft with slender liquid-cooled inline engines
These two guys built the huge blunt-nosed P-35 that came equipped with...
a radial engine.
Of course… and the worst part was that this fighter aircraft was still faster
than the ones with inline engines!
To add insult to injury, it also became a major movie star.
Do you remember?
"The Test Pilot" starring Clark Gable, Myrna Loy… and a P-35 as the Drake Bullet,
the main character's racer aircraft.
But international fame is one thing.
Using this plane in combat is another.
How could you pass it into service when it had next to no armour
and used a wet wing, for heaven's sake
which meant that fuel was stored literally within the wing?
The plane was too good to pass up, though.
Despite protests from Curtiss who developed the P-36,
the Air Forces decided to buy a number of Kartveli's aircraft
to use them as kind of 'fill-the-gap' fighters.
In the second half of the thirties, aeronautical science was advancing so quickly,
That a lot of machines were becoming obsolete by the time they left the factory floor.
Trying to seize the opportunity, Seversky and Kartveli decided to create not one
but two new aircraft designs that were competing with each other.
Kartveli built the P-41 — basically a reworked and modified P-35
with a better engine and new landing gear.
But Seversky stole the show with his P-43 Lancer.
It was a real marvel: a single-engine fighter with a turbo-supercharger.
What was so special about that?
Listen up!
As you know, at higher altitudes, the density of air gets progressively less
and engines, just like humans, need air to operate.
They burn a mixture of air and fuel — and where can you get all that air high in the sky?
The aircraft makers came up with a solution to this problem:
They outfitted the motor with an air pump that took air from the outside,
compressed it to a higher pressure and blew it into the engine.
There is a catch though: the higher you go, the more work this air pump has to do
which means that it uses more and more engine power to operate.
It's a catch 22 situation
You need the pump to get more power, but you need more power to operate the pump.
Okay, there was another way.
You could use a turbo-driven supercharger.
It is powered by a turbine driven by the engine's exhaust gas.
Neat, right?
There is no lack of exhaust gas even at the altitude of ten thousand metres.
Problem solved?
Not yet.
The gases were so hot that they could easily melt turbine blades.
Not to mention that the turbo superchargers of the era were heavy and bulky.
You could use them on big planes with multiple engines — after a fashion
but a single-engine fighter?
It was out of the question.
A plane with both an engine and a turbo-supercharger would simply be too heavy in the front to leave the ground.
Seversky found an elegant solution to this problem.
Instead of installing it in the front (which was standard practice at the time)
he put the turbo-supercharger behind the cockpit
and connected it to the engine with an external exhaust housing.
The initial exhaust gas temperature could be as high as 1400 degrees Celsius,
but by the time gases reached the turbine, the temperature dropped significantly
so the gases posed no hazard to the insides of the turbine
and also warmed the cockpit a little. Not a thing to sneeze at when it's minus forty Celsius outside.
With that system in place the new aircraft wasn't just able to get to the altitude
of ten thousand metres, it was in its element there.
Because of that fact, alone, the military were ready to put up with the plane's shortcomings
And it certainly had some
This fighter was on the heavy side, lacked self-sealing fuel tanks,
It's wet wing tanks were constantly leaking…
To be fair, though, the only real problem of the plane
was that in the late thirties, there were almost no planes that fought at those crazy altitudes.
When it came to flying at altitudes where all the action took place,
the Lancer failed to impress.
That's why in the end the military bought only a couple hundred of these beauties
mostly for training purposes.
Just in case, you know.
At that time, few people knew that the P-43, even for Seversky and Kartveli,
was just a step in a promising direction.
A fill-the-gap aircraft that paved the way for another, better fighter.
A fighter that would become one of the symbols of the USAAF
and allow American pilots to claim high altitudes as their own…
But that's a story for another time.

Developers answering questions from the comments!..
Hotline
The first message comes from DimitriEnerjak:
"Glorious Wehrmacht requires her Amerikabombers."
You will give me the Horten 18.
It is inevitable. It is your destiny".
Weeeeeell…
It didn't really work out for Wehrmacht, did it?
We do not plan to add this aircraft to the game
due to the fact that it has never left the blueprint stage.
Sorry, mate.
TheDataChip asks: "Will we ever see more armoured cars?"
Yes. A thousand times yes.
Armored cars are awesome.
Then there is a question coming from Ima Nonymou:
"Why does the KV-2... sorry, I meant the Blin Machine... takes 40 seconds to reload?
That doesn't seem reasonable in real life.
And will there be another way/event/tournament to get the BM-13N Katyusha Rocket Artillery?"
Hey, mate! You'll be surprised.
The М-10Т 152 mm was a real joy to reload.
As to the second question...
Well, we're not saying that there won't be.
Then there is a question from a user called Bluskey:
"Why don't you combine warships tanks and airplanes as one game mode or event?"
We've answered that one before, but we'll do it again for the sake of clarity.
This might happen as a special event of some sorts, but we do not plan to have it as a regular thing.
These kinds of engagements were very, very rare in real life
and quite awkward, to boot.
That's it for today, but feel free to write your questions in the comments below.
We do read them all, and you might see some of them answered in the next episode!
