10 Best Neck Pain Stretches - Ask Doctor Jo - Duration: 8:18.

Hey everybody its Doctor Jo and Kali and Bear, and today we're gonna show you the

top ten neck stretches. So let's get started.

So these 10 best neck stretches are in my opinion the best. They're not any kind

of scientific research behind it, it's just my favorites the ones that I've

found work best for me as well as my patients, so let's start out with a

cervical rotation. So with cervical rotation exercises, what we're doing is

we're just stretching out the muscles all around the neck here, so make sure

that you keep your head in a neutral position to do these rotational

stretches, so let's take a look. For cervical rotation range of motion, you're

just going to turn your head to the side almost like you're looking over your

shoulder and then back the other way.

Number two is going to be a cervical Sidebend or a neck sidebend, so those

are just working the muscles on the side to get those stretch out, so let's take a

look at that one. For a cervical side bending range of motion, you're going to

bring your ear towards your shoulder, but don't bring your shoulder up to your ear.

Number three is cervical extension where you're bringing your head back, and

that's gonna stretch those front muscles, so let's take a look at that. For a

cervical extension range of motion, you're just going to be looking up

towards the ceiling and then coming back down.

And number four is cervical flexion or neck flexion, so then you're going to be

stretching those muscles in the back as you bend forward, so let's check that one.

For a cervical flexion range of motion, you're just going to bring your

chin towards your chest and then come back up.

Number five is a chin tuck. Chin tuck is kind of a mix between a stretch and an

exercise and is one of my favorite stretches because it's super easy to do and it

really helps reset your neck if you're getting into bad posture, so you can do

it several times a day. And when you work at a computer a lot or when you're focusing

on something and you tend to get that forward neck posture, doing some simple

chin tucks are really effective to kind of help reset those muscles. So let's

take a look at that one. For chin tucks in sitting, you're going to actually

move your chin back, it's not tucking it forward, so place your finger on your

chin and leave your finger in one spot, and then tuck it in and hold it.

Number six a chest stretch. The reason it's important to stretch out these

chest muscles even though you don't always associate them with your neck, is

they really are. If these chest muscles are tight, it

tends to pull us forward and then again our head comes forward, and we get really

really tight muscles, so when you stretch out those chest muscles it helps open

you up and get you back into better posture, so let's check out that one. For

a corner chest stretch, place a hand on each side of the corner, and one foot in

the corner ,then push in and hold the stretch.

Number seven is an anterior scalene stretch. The scalene muscles, especially the

anterior ones, come through here right in through here, and so when those are tight,

it can put a lot of pressure here and pull our head down and forward and that

can cause a lot of pain, so let's check out that stretch. For a scaling stretch,

place your hand above your collarbone on the muscle, turn your head towards the

side you want to stretch, and then look up.

Number eight upper trap stretch. The upper traps are big-time ones that cause

pain in our neck. They're the ones up here that go right all the way up into

our neck here and then down into the shoulder, sometimes they have trigger

points, those muscles get really tight often when we're focused on something

for a long time when we have a lot of stress, so it's really important to

stretch those out, so let's take a look. For an upper trap stretch, take the arm

of the side that you want to stretch and either push it downwards or sit on it to

hold that shoulder down, then take the other hand on the side, and just pull it

over towards your shoulder, holding that stretch.

Number nine a levator scapulae stretch. The levator SCAP is again another one of

those muscles. I sits right here, it elevates or lifts our shoulder blades

that scapula, and the reason that's so important with our neck is because it

holds our stress the most. When we're stressed out, we get like this and it can

cause a lot of tension and pain, sometimes it gives people headaches

because it gives you a lot of pain here at the base of the skull down into the

neck, and sometimes even out into the shoulders, so that one's really important

to stretch, so let's take a look. For a levator scapulae stretch, the side that

you want to stretch, you're going to take your arm and put it up over your

shoulder and that's to stabilize that scapula, then you're going to take your

head down towards an angle almost like you're looking towards the opposite knee,

take your other hand and put it behind your head and give it a little extra

stretch.

Number ten is going to be a cervical rotation or a neck rotation with a towel.

Sometimes they're called snags and the reason the towel is so important is

because it helps kind of stabilize the spine, so if we want to rotate our neck

but only rotate it at certain vertebrae, you can use the towel to kind of

stabilize one and then move the rest, so it's a really good way to kind of get

some movement in the spine to help open up those joints there. If the facets are

kind of stuck, this is a great way to loosen that up and stretch everything

else, so let's take a look at that. For a neck rotation stretch with the towel,

take the towel and put it behind your neck, grab one side to anchor it down and

keep it there, then take the opposite hand put the towel up over your chin

across your ear and you're going to pull upwards in a way when you rotate your

neck to the side.

So there you have it, those are your 10 best neck stretches. If you have any

Set up & Exchange a U-verse Wired Receiver | AT&T U-verse - Duration: 3:31.

This video will guide you through some easy steps

to help you replace your current U-verse TV wired receiver

with your replacement receiver.

Note that your replacement make and model

may differ slightly from the images shown in the video.

You can pause this video or go forward or backward

using the navigation bar below the video.

Step 1. Let's get started.

First, unplug your existing receiver,

and remove the power cord.

Next, set the power cord aside.

You will not need to use this cord anymore.

Step 2

Next, carefully stack your new receiver

on top of your existing receiver,

this will allow you to reconnect the cables one at a time,

keeping them all in the right place.

Remove one cable at a time from the old receiver

and reconnect each cable one at a time to the new receiver.

If the back of your new receiver

looks different than your old receiver,

just follow the names, shapes, and colors of the connectors

because they will all be the same.

You'll need only one of these cable connections

from the example shown here.

We'll show the HDMI cable since it's the preferred connection,

but any of these cables will work.

Now, pause this video

until you have completed all the necessary connections.

Step 3

After you have successfully completed

your receiver connections,

plug your new power cord into your new receiver first,

and then plug in your power cord to a working electrical outlet.

Do not reuse the power cord from your old receiver.

Step 4. Your new receiver will power up automatically.

It may take several minutes for this process to complete.

Do not turn off the TV or receiver during this process.

When the process is finished, the "Link" light will turn green.

If the light doesn't turn green,

unplug the receiver from the electrical outlet,

wait 15 seconds, and try again.

Press your guide button on your remote control

to start enjoying your favorite programming.

Congratulations!

You have now connected your U-verse TV receiver.

And great news:

You can continue to use your existing remote

without reprogramming it to operate your new receiver.

Step 5

An important part of the equipment replacement process

is to return your old equipment.

Return the AT&T U-verse TV receiver you replaced

with the old power cord, as is, to your nearest The UPS Store.

No special packaging is required.

For your convenience, please bring the return instructions

that were emailed or mailed to you.

This will expedite your return process at the UPS Store.

If you do not have the return instructions, don't worry.

You just need to provide the billing account number,

which can be found on your bill as shown on the screen.

Advise the UPS representative

that you're returning an AT&T U-verse TV receiver.

Do not return your remote control.

10 Warning Signs of Colon Cancer You Shouldn't Ignore

According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 20 people are at a risk of developing colorectal cancer during their lifetime.

The exact cause of colorectal or bowel cancer is not known.

However, it is believed to develop when healthy cells become abnormal and start growing in number and accumulate in the lining of the colon,

forming polyps. Left untreated, polyps may become cancerous.

As it can be difficult to treat colon cancer after it spreads to nearby areas, it is important to know what the early symptoms are.

This can help you seek early treatment and give you a better chance in recovery.

Here are the top 10 warning signs of colon cancer you shouldn't ignore.

1. Constipation

Constipation is an important sign of cancer in the colon. A 2011 study published in the Asian Pacific

Journal of Cancer Prevention highlights the link between constipation and colorectal cancer risk.

An earlier 2004 study published in the European Journal of Cancer supported the hypothesis

that constipation or laxative use increases the risk of colon cancer.

A tumor present at the far end of the colon can make it very difficult to eliminate waste products, thereby causing constipation.

If you persistently have fewer bowel movements per week, without any prior problem of constipation,

consult your doctor to find out the exact cause.

2. Diarrhea. If you suffer from diarrhea for more than a couple of weeks, it may be an early symptom of colon cancer.

When a tumor partially obstructs the bowel, it can cause alternating constipation and diarrhea due to leakage of liquid stool.

You may also experience frequent gas, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.

Plus, a tumor may irritate or narrow the lining of the intestine.

It is important to consult your doctor when you have diarrhea that lasts more than a few days, as it can lead to dehydration,

drain your body of nutrients and signal other serious problems, such as cancer.

3. Blood in Stools. Most often, blood in the stool is due to piles (hemorrhoids),

where the veins in the back passage become fragile and cause a little bleeding during a bowel movement.

This type of bleeding is generally red.

However, if you notice dark red or black blood in your stool, it can be a sign of cancer,

such as bowel, rectal or colon cancer. It can also be due to a stomach ulcer.

Whether bleeding is due to piles, a stomach ulcer or cancer, it's important to get it checked by a doctor.

Proper diagnosis is essential for appropriate treatment.

4. Constant Feeling of a Bowel Movement

If you have a constant feeling of urgently needing to have a bowel movement or to strain but no stool is passed,

it is not a good sign. This feeling can occur even after having a bowel movement.

Changes in your pattern of bowel movements can be a sign of colon cancer.

It can occur when a tumor blocks the bowel and prevents you from completely emptying your bowels.

If you persistently have the sensation of incomplete evacuation after a bowel movement, discuss the problem with your doctor.

5. Narrow Stools. Thin, narrow stools are also a warning of possible colon cancer.

A tumor present in the left side of the colon obstructs the passageway and often leads to narrow stools.

Do not delay discussing any change in your stools with your doctor.

Diverticulitis and anal cancer can also cause narrowing of the stools.
