Al Gore has been in the news a lot over the past couple of months.
He has been doing his usual speaking events and even has a new movie out.
Now, he is in the news for all the wrong reasons.
Gore's new movie, "An Inconvenient Sequel," is bombing at the box office.
Besides the horrible reviews coming in, one climatologist, Roy W. Spencer, principal research
scientist at the University of Alabama, took his critique of the film to the next level.
According to The Washington Times, Spencer just released an eBook on Amazon titled, An
Inconvenient Deception: How Al Gore Distorts Climate Science and Energy Policy.
On Spencer's blog, he relayed his thoughts on the film in the most straightforward way
possible: "The new movie and book are chock-full of bad science, bad policy, and factual errors."
The scientist went on to point out some glaring logic fallacies in Gore's new film.
He noted that Gore says again and again that naturally occurring weather episodes are directly
tied to human interaction, though that has never been proven.
As an example, Spencer pointed out the rising sea level myth is bogus for two reasons.
He stated that there has been no increased rise of the sea level — aside from what
was already happening in the 1800s.
Spencer's second rebuttal to Gore's claim is the "satellite-measured sinking of the
reclaimed swamps that have been built upon for over 100 years in Miami Beach."
In other words, if you build your house on a swamp foundation, it is going to sink slowly,
but not because of global warming.
Some would argue that the most thought-provoking part of Spencer's dismantling of Gore are
Spencer's credentials.
Besides his education, and working for a college, he is also an award-winning NASA scientist.
He has looked over all of the available documentation and finds it lacking, something that Gore
probably didn't do because it would have made his movie impossible to film.
Despite the angry cries from the Left, Spencer remains a climate skeptic.
Spencer has also written three books on climate change, so it can be argued with confidence
that he knows what he is talking about.
Especially when you consider that he has the documentation to back up his argument.
One of the most embarrassing aspects of this situation for Gore was Spencer's point-by-point
rebuttal, which he released two weeks after the film came out.
After the release of his rebuttal to "An Inconvenient Sequel," sales plummeted.
The movie only managed to earn a meager $333,007 on opening weekend.
Considering that this is a 59 percent drop over the first film, one can see Gore's
agenda crumbling.
People are becoming more privy to the signs that climate change needs to be examined further.
When Gore tries to demonize people who ask questions, it only turns those away who may
have been willing to adopt his ideology.
Mr. Spencer may have put the icing on the cake, but at the end of the day, Al Gore has
managed to do the most damage to himself.
