What's going on guys for Complex News, I'm Natasha Martinez.
//// Halloween turned out to be a huge day for new music, and Chris Brown did not miss
the opportunity to promote his new 45-track album Heartbreak on a Full Moon.
On Instagram, the singer posted a message telling his fans to go and buy the album,
which in itself is not unusual.
However Brown took promotion to another level, sharing specific guidelines on how to to buy,
how to download, and every other step in between.
Here are just a few of the instructions,
QUOTE CARD--TEAM BREEZY "Create a FREE Spotify or Apple Music Account
for 30 days, so if you are not buying the album on iTunes, help UNTIL you do.
You can cancel the account IF YOU WANT TO, once your trial expires.
I suggest everyone makes a 30 day free account and just streams, streams, and streams multiple
times and leave the album on repeat, we only have 3 days to make up for a full tracking
week."
In order to go along with the project's horror themed imagery, Heartbreak on a Full Moon's
Halloween release fell on a Tuesday rather than a Friday.
So, only the first three days of sales and streams will count towards the Billboard 200
album chart, which Brown reiterated over and over again on his post.
The post even suggests messing with record store displays to make sure Heartbreak on
a Full Moon is visible saying,
QUOTE CARD--TEAM BREEZY "We aren't playing nice.
We are here to get Chris the recognition and success he deserves."
Unsurprisingly, some fans did not take Chris's call to action well at all.
QUOTE TWEETS "Chris Brown be on IG showing off his bentley
truck and cars mansion and want us #pour people to buy multiple copies?!"
Just sad RT @realsarina: Chris Brown really posted this on his IG…

CHRIS BROWN IS BEGGING FOR ALBUM SALES ON IG IM SCREAMING
I mean, you can't blame the man for trying to make up for lost time, but maybe straight
up dictating exactly how your fans should listen to new music was a bit much.
Either way, we'll see how well they took directions once the Billboard 200 chart comes out.
