Youtube daily Dec 1 2017

The Hindenburg disaster will probably always be remembered as the singular event that killed

airship travel.

In truth, there were other events that occurred which also contributed, but none stand out

in the public consciousness more than the demise of the Hindenburg.

The image of that huge ship falling from the sky and erupting into flames before burning

to nothing in seconds was too jarring for the public to ever put their trust in these

giants of sky again.

However, few realise that the disaster, though terrible, wasn't as bad as it seemed at

first glance.

For example, more than half of the people involved in the crash actually survived it.

The final death toll for people on board was as follows: of the 97 people on board (36

passengers and 61 members of the crew) only 35 of them were killed.

(The actual death toll is logged as 36, since the crash also killed a crewman working on

the ground.

A German Shepherd dog, Ulla, aboard also lost her life, if you want to count the canine.)

This puts the survival rate for humans in the disaster at well over 60%, though 100%

of the dogs aboard were killed, which presumably had the effect of dogs the world over swearing

off airship travel.

So how did over 60% of the people travelling on an exploding ball of gas hundreds of feet

in the air survive when they had literally only seconds to react and escape?

The short answer is that most jumped out of the window before the Hindenburg hit the ground.

Yes, as unbelievable as it sounds, a good number of the passengers survived the disaster

by just waiting for the airship to be a split second from crashing into the ground before

escaping.

(In the video below, you can actually see a bunch of them running away from the ship.)

However, not all the passengers were as lucky, with some opting to leap from the craft when

it was still high in the air, sending them plummeting to their inevitable death.

Several passengers who didn't have a chance to escape before the ship hit the ground were

also later pulled out of the wreckage alive, meaning the people who leapt to their deaths

would have almost certainly been more likely to survive if they'd stayed on the giant

exploding airship.

So the ones who kept their heads and the ones who were deer in headlights seem to have had

the best survival strategy over the "OH MY GOD THE SHIPS EXPLODING!!" jumpers.

So at this point, you might be wondering, "What caused the Hindenburg disaster?"

On the evening of May the 3rd, 1937, the LZ 129 Hindenburg, now colloquially known as

"The Hindenburg" was preparing for its final and history changing flight from Frankfurt,

Germany.

The airship sailed for 3 days with no incident until around 7 PM on May 6th as it approached

the Lakehurst Naval Air Station which coincidentally is in Lakehurst, New Jersey.

It's noted that the airship went through its usual docking procedure for around 25

minutes before the very first signs that something terrible was about to happen presented themselves.

At approximately 7:25 PM, eyewitnesses at the time claimed that they saw a "glowing

aura" coming from the tail section of the ship.

This aura was later presumed to be either fire or static electricity.

Regardless of what the aura was, the entire ship was soon in flames and within seconds

it had burnt and crashed to the ground.

No one actually knows how long it took for the ship to burn; eyewitness accounts of the

time consistently indicate that the airship took between 30–40 seconds to burn off all

the hydrogen and the skin of the craft.

However, since no cameras present filmed the entire crash from start to finish, it has

been impossible to confirm these reports either way.

Perhaps due to this inconsistency in data, most sources use the phrase "within seconds",

like we just did in the last paragraph as it sounds more dramatic that way.

I mean, really, if it took 20 minutes, it's still technically within seconds as 20 minutes

is of course just 1200 seconds.

Literally "within seconds" has no bounds.

This how modern journalism works.

😉

As for what caused the fire, again, no one is entirely sure.

Airship crash investigation techniques weren't exactly top notch back in 1937 and even today,

the cause of the fire is a source of a significant amount of debate.

That being said, at the time of the disaster, many theories were put forward.

The two most enduring were that the fire was caused by sabotage, and another that claims

the fire was the result of static electricity igniting the hydrogen the Hindenburg used

to fly.

Not surprisingly, the sabotage theory has been largely debunked owing to the fact that

there was zero evidence of any sabotage at the time, and no one has managed to come up

with any tangible evidence since.

As such, most sources today agree that the fire and resulting crash was the result of

an accidental static spark of some kind.

This is also largely believed to be the cause of the mysterious "blue aura" eyewitnesses

claimed to have seen.

So what caused the static charge?

Originally it was believed that a static spark of some sort was perhaps caused by a build

up of electrical potential on the craft from friction between the Hindenburg and the ambient

air.

There was probably a difference of potential between the skin of the craft and the internal

frame, as the cords used as separators provided insufficient conductivity to keep the charge

equal; thus, a spark occurred igniting the hydrogen within the airship.

This is more or less what was concluded in the original investigation back in 1937.

Yet, modern investigators have come up with a slight twist on that theory.

This second theory, first put forward by NASA scientist and hydrogen expert, Addison Bain,

states that that spark that probably caused the fire most likely ignited the Hindenburg's

coating first, instead the hydrogen within it.

But in either case, the result was the same: zzzzzt -> Boom -> IT BURNS US!!!

-> OH THE HUMANITY!!!

Arguments have been thrown back and forth for both theories, culminating in a special

Mythbusters episode where it was concluded that it was indeed the hydrogen that originally

caused the fire.

Which of course just caused more arguments- proof if it was ever needed that people should

never try and prove things… or really try anything at all.

You know what

the first step towards failure is?

Trying to do something.

🔥 Thunder Show: Napalm in the morning - Duration: 6:53.

In this episode:

You won't regret this

Not enough room

Hey, i'm still here!

Napalm in the morning

Welcome to Thunder Show!

THE FUNNIEST VIDEO

In battle, once an enemy aircraft is registered as destroyed,

most AA players will stop firing and switch to a different target.

We all know that usually a downed aircraft is not likely to be a threat.

Usually is the word.

However, if the pilot manages to make a soft landing or at least crash land with his machine mostly intact,

his on-board gunners might still be active.

The commander of this Soviet GAZ truck has learned that the hard way,

as he was leaving behind the stricken foe, now wrecked on the ground.

But the German air crew will have none of it!

Twin MG-81s then quickly turned the departing truck into Swiss cheese,

while the Stuka's crew, now content that revenge is done, returns back to the hangar.

FALLTON sure sees opportunities, where others might see a problem.

Such an approach warrants a prize of 5000 Golden Eagles, nice one, buddy!

THE BEST FAIL

People often call the sky limitless, boundless

in reality - it's a space that can be clearly defined and many aviators find it a bit crowded sometimes.

How else do you explain this, then?

Three aircraft, three pilots and not a single chance of avoiding catastrophe.

Even in a space as large as the sky,

these aces could not avoid collision and smashed into each other full speed,

scattering pieces of their once glorious aircraft all around.

Oh well.

Next time you guys should exchange pre-determined flight plans or something.

It might be kinda hard to fight like that, but 'safety first'

especially in such a crowded environment as the sky.

Thank you Esgemart, enjoy your Eagles!

THE MOST EPIC VIDEO

German pilots have a special will to win, or so it seems.

Even when their machines are badly damaged, they try to land them as softly as possible

staying active and helping the team in any way they can.

Earlier in this very episode we had a dive bomber destroy an enemy, after crash landing.

But what about bigger craft?

Like the mighty colossus, the BV238.

An aircraft this big ought to do more damage in a similar situation.

After a not-so-graceful belly landing,

the flying boat fires relentlessly at everything it can reach out to and quite effectively, too!

One by one, much smaller enemy fighters go down,

at least until a particularly considerate pilot of a Wellington

drops a bomb on the downed German machine.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures.

David Reed sure did a number on the enemy and just made 5000 Golden Eagles!

Illegal Immigrant Accused of Kate Steinle Murder Has Now Learned His Fate - Duration: 2:10.

The trial of illegal immigrant Jose Ines Garcia Zarate, 54, who was charged in the 2015 murder

of 32-year-old Kate Steinle, has finally come to a close.

According to local station KGO, Zarate was acquitted of the second-degree murder charge

against him.

It was expected that Zarate would be deported, rather than released.

Kate and her father Jim were walking on San Francisco's Embarcadero on July 1, 2015,

when Steinle was struck by a bullet that ricocheted off of the pier.

"She was having trouble breathing and I couldn't figure out what happened," Steinle's

father recalled.

Steinle eventually died from her injuries.

Journalist Jessica Christian tweeted a video of the media frenzy outside of the courtroom

after it was announced that the jury of six women and six men had made its final verdict.

A firestorm of controversy over the potential danger of sanctuary cities was set off after

it was revealed that Zarate, who was accused of firing the fatal shot from a Sig Sauer

.40-caliber handgun that he allegedly stole, had also been living in the United States

illegally.

CBS News reported that prior to Steinle's death, Zarate had been deported five times.

As Fox News reported in October, San Francisco authorities freed Zarate, a homeless illegal

immigrant, despite requests by federal officials that he be detained.

Fox News reported that during opening statements of the trial, Zarate's attorney Matt Gonzalez

stated that Zarate hadn't stolen the firearm, but found it wrapped in a t-shirt on the pier.

President Donald Trump even weighed in on the incident two days after Steinle was fatally

shot.

"This senseless and totally preventable act of violence committed by an illegal immigrant

is yet another example of why we must secure our border immediately," Trump said.

"This is an absolutely disgraceful situation, and I am the only one that can fix it.

Nobody else has the guts to even talk about it.

That won't happen if I become president," he added.

Portable bluetooth 4.1 + NFC audio receiver "MPOW MPBH070AB" on AliExpress. - Duration: 5:26.

Hello! New package with the goods

with AliExpress. Ordered in the store with the name

"Patozon" bluetooth audio adapter

for $ 14.96. Currently,

it costs a little more than $ 15.47.

Look for the link in the description under the video.

The package arrived from Singapore to Belarus

very quickly in 2 weeks. The track number

was tracked. We estimated the package at $ 12.83.

But not much underestimated.

Unlike bluetooth receiver "Ugreen",

model 30445, the review of which I did

in the past my video. By the way here

is a link to it. This receiver

is equipped with a battery

with a declared capacity of 300 mAh,

and only one way to output analog

audio to an amplifier or active acoustics

is a miniJack 3.5 mm.

The device under the brand "MPOW" was packed

into a cardboard box, for which

some of its technical parameters and

model are presented, here is such a model.

The receiver has similar dimensions with "Ugreen", it is 60x60 and 23 mm thick.

Made of plastic with an upper glossy

surface. It has a protective film on it.

And here is

the only button to activate

this device. In principle, everything is very similar ...

On the lower edge of the 4 rubber feet

in order that it does not slip. And on one of the side faces there

is a microUSB for

charging the built-in battery and a miniJack

for outputting analog audio.

On the opposite side,

the Bluetooth music receiver is simply indicated.

The device itself contains

a miniJack-miniJack 3.5 mm cable.

There was one more cable,

it's now connected to the AV-receiver. Also

miniJack on one side, on the other side

two RCA-type connectors "tulip".

And the charging cable.

In the kit there is also an instruction for 5 European

and such hieroglyphs, but it was

not Chinese, but Japanese.

As you can see, here here is the "JP" - japan, well, with illustrations.

To charge

the built-in battery,

you need to connect any adapter

with a USB output voltage of 5V and

a current of up to 500 mA. The device

is designed to receive music

tracks digitally from a smartphone and

other similar source using

bluetooth version 4.1 + NFC, converting them

into an analog signal and transferring

a musical stereo signal

via a cable for playback

to an active speaker,

an external stereo amplifier,

an AV receiver or headphones. To activate

the device you need to hold down the button for 3 seconds

before the flicker of the label

with the brand name "MPOW" and the sound

invitation in the speaker system.

Well, after that we already standardly include

bluetooth in the smartphone and in the list of devices

we find this device "BT4807".

After connecting to the device, you can broadcast

music from your smartphone player

without wires to the speaker system.

Well, respectively in the music center,

AV-receiver or any other

playback device,

you need to select the external input "Aux".

(There are several musical fragments)

This device also allows you to turn

ordinary wired headphones by connecting

them to this connector, already in bluetooth headphones.

The sound quality is acceptable.

Radio interference is not audible. The range announced

by bluetooth-communication is 10 meters. To turn off

the device, also hold this

central button until the beep sounds

and the LED backlight

flashes.

This device I recommend to buy,

the more so it is portable,

there is a built-in battery,

and the connection is stable, good. The sound

quality is excellent. Link under the video in the description.

There will also be a link for registration in the ePN cash-partner

for someone who wants

to save a little. Rate this video,

subscribe to the channel.

Always glad to new subscribers. Good luck to all!

See you soon. Till.
