Hey everyone!

JAYSTEPHER with the first haul for October 2017.

Let's take bets.

Is this going to be another botched up Lego haul?

Well this open this up.

I could use the little ted pull tab,

but I'm going to brave it and use scissors.

Why?

Because scissors are cool.

Do I feel those receipts?

Yes I do!

Okay.

I should have eight lots.

Well let's see.

Oh yeah.

This is mainly a tile haul this time.

I like these Ziploc bags.

I got some of the light purple.

A few 1 by 3 olive green bricks.

I think this is the bright green 1 by 1 flat tiles.

Medium nougat 1 by 1 flat tiles.

I got some dark orange 1 by 1 flat tiles.

I'm taking it this is azure.

Regular azure.

And I believe this is dark pink.

Alright. So I'm already going to be an unhappy camper.

Wait!

They did put the 1 by 1s in the same package as the 1 by 3s.

So never mind. Scratch that.

But we can't hold our breath yet,

because I still have to count everything up.

So I'm suppose to have 100 of each of the tiles

and 25 of the 1 by 3s

and 1 by 1 olive green bricks.

Let me get a counting.

Let's see if everything is in the order.

Well this is not a botched up haul.

Everything is here

including a few extra 1 by 1 flat tiles

and a 1 by 3 brick.

So I did get 100 of each color of the 1 by 1 flat tiles

as well as 25 of the 1 by 3

and 25 of the 1 by 1 olive green bricks.

I'm going to use these for a large mosaic.

I still need to find the 1 by 3 bricks in sand green.

I'm still on the hunt for those.

I have a few questions I need to answer.

One of them is where do I buy my Lego?

[Laughs] Anywhere where it's cheap.

I usually shop form the official Lego shop

as well as big box stores.

I've even been lucky to find some polybags at grocery stores.

So that's where I get my Lego.

Pretty much where ever you find toys,

you will find a Lego product.

So that's where I get them.

Another question I get is

what if you don't have a part to complete a tutorial that I have made?

Substitute it.

I always tell my viewers to substitute parts

if you don't have one in the tutorial.

So let's say you do not have this 1 by 3 olive green brick,

but you do have three 1 by 1 sand green bricks.

Replace them.

Who cares if it's multi colored right?

As long as you have fun building the projects,

that's all that matters.

See you don't even have to follow my tutorials brick by brick.

I always recommend that.

I've seen a lot of ideas that people have submitted to me

on alternative builds for my tutorials,

and they turn out really good!

So you don't ever have to have all those parts.

So that wraps up the haul.

Not a whole lot.

Just tiles and bricks.

Nothing too exciting.

Traffic volume on Korea's expressways to reach peak on day of Chuseok - Duration: 0:47.

Let's start with a brief look at the nation's roads...

The volume of traffic will likely peak today,... the day of Chuseok, as families go to... and

from... their hometowns.

The Korea Expressway Corporation says more than five-point-eight million cars are expected

to be on the move on north and southbound lanes,... marking the highest daily volume

of traffic in Korean history.

As of 11 am, Korea time, a trip to the southern city of Busan from Seoul, and vice versa,...

will take about eight hours; under normal circumstances the drive would take about four-and-a-half

hours.

The congestion will be heaviest around four to five pm, Korea time, and continue to be

busy through Thursday morning.

Three Americans win Nobel Prize for physics for discovery of gravitational waves - Duration: 2:42.

The Nobel Prize

in physics has been awarded to three American scientists

for the discovery of gravitational waves... first predicted

by Albert Einstein a century ago.

The Nobel committee recognized Rainer Weiss, Barry Barish and Kip Thorne for their "decisive

contributions to the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave

Observatory, or LIGO, detector and the observation of gravitational waves."

The first observation was made in September 2015... of a collision between two black holes

more than a billion years ago.

Studying gravitational waves will allow astronomers to observe the inner workings of objects that

don't emit light, such as helping to answer questions of how black holes are formed.

Catalan leader says region will declare independence from Spain within days - Duration: 0:49.

Tense times in Spain as the leader of Catalonia's devolved administration says his

region will seek independence from Spain "within days."

Speaking to the BBC in his first interview since Sunday's disputed referendum,... Carles

(pudge-dae-mon) Puigdemont said Catalonia is going to declare independence 48 hours

after the official result is released.

King Felipe of Spain has accused the Catalan authorities of disloyalty and said the organizers

of the referendum had acted illegally.

In a rare televised address to the nation on Tuesday,... Felipe said that, without respect

for the law, there could be no peace and freedom.

The latest developments come as a general strike was held across Catalonia on Tuesday

to protest the violent police crackdown on voters during the referendum, during which

close to a thousand people were injured.

Mattis confirms U.S. seeking 'opportunities' to talk with North Korea - Duration: 0:43.

More mixed messages on North Korea at the very top level of the Trump administration.

U.S. Defense Secretary, Jim Mattis, now says Washington is looking into ways to open talks

with Pyongyang.

With President Trump tweeting earlier this week that such efforts would be a "waste of

time," it seems they aren't seeing eye-to-eye on the best approach.

Kwon Jang-ho reports.

U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis has reaffirmed the U.S. is* working towards talks with North

Korea.

He came to the defense of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, at a Senate Armed Services

Committee hearing on Tuesday, explaining that President Trump and his top diplomat were

on the same page and looking for a diplomatic solution.

(English) "I believe that Secretary Tillerson is accurately

stating that we are probing for opportunities to talk with the North.

All we're doing is probing; we're not talking with them...

At the same time, the President, I think, has a responsibility to ensure that we go

into this with our eyes wide open."

He added that President Trump had guided Tillerson and himself to pursue diplomatic efforts,

including initiatives with China, and that Tillerson's trip to China last week showed

that 'integrated effort'.

It was during this trip to Beijing that Tillerson made the comments that sparked this current

controversy.

He said the U.S. was in direct communication with North Korea, the first admission of its

kind for the Trump administration,... but that so far Pyongyang had shown no interest

in talks.

A day later, President Trump tweeted that Tillerson was "wasting his time trying to

negotiate with the little Rocketman", the moniker Trump has given North Korean leader,

Kim Jong-un.

He also pointed out that "being nice" hadn't work for 25 years during three administrations.

The White House also stressed on Monday that there had been no talks with Pyongyang over

its nuclear program, but that the only conversations to have taken place are on bringing back American

detainees.

It's not the first time the White House and State Department have made conflicting statements,

and Mattis said that he "does not see the divergence as strongly as some have interpreted"...

but there does seem to be a divergence nonetheless.

Meanwhile, North Korea has condemned Washington's move last month to impose its own unilateral

sanctions, on top of the recent UN ones.

In statement released on state media, Pyongyang called it a "heinous criminal act" and pledged

to make the U.S. pay with its own "miserable extinction."

Scrubbing the Floor on Your Hands and Knees - Duration: 5:12.

Is scrubbing floors on your hands and knees even still a thing?

We're going to talk about that today.

Hi there, I'm Angela Brown and this is Ask a House Cleaner.

This is a show where you get to ask a house cleaning question

and I get to help you find an answer.

Now today's question comes from a house cleaner who went to bid a job at a customer's house.

When she got there, the customer asked her if she would scrub the hardwood floors on

her hands and knees?

And the housekeeper wants to know: "Is this still a thing and am I supposed to say yes?"

you have hands and you have knees.

you have hands and you have knees.

So if you choose to scrub hardwood floors on your hands

and knees, then yes, it's a thing.

you do not have to get down on your hands and knees.

Now I've been in this business a very long time and I don't scrub floors

Because I'm 5'8", I'm all the way up here and the floor is all the way down there.

There's a huge distance between me and the floor, and so if I can use a mop or a steamer

or something that's a little bit more conducive to less tear-and-wear on the body, I'm going

to do that, right?

That just makes sense to me.

Now, switch the script for a minute and let's pretend that you're going to go to the car

dealership to have your oil changed.

As the customer, you don't get to walk in and say, "Oh, I'd like to have my oil changed

but only if the guy will get on one of those little wheelie carts and wheel himself underneath

my car to change the oil."

You don't get to decide that, right?

The car dealership decides.

Thank goodness there is new technology.

They have what's called a lift.

You drive your car in and it lifts your car up in the air.

When you get up in the air, the guy walks underneath your car, he unplugs it, he replaces

the oil filter, plugs it back up, lowers your car and you drive away.

Boom!

It costs the same amount of money.

It took less time.

You have people that can just wander under and do it very quickly.

You didn't have to wait in line for six hours or something because the guy could only get

under one car at a time.

They make steamers now that get up dog slobber and spider nests

Boom, you're out the door.

The reality is technology has changed also for hardwood floors.

and mice poo and all kinds of stuff.

It cleans all that stuff up and you don't have to scrub hardwood floors anymore on your

hands and knees.

They make these steamers for hardwood floors.

It's awesome.

What are they really asking?

Are they asking you to replace a technique that is the only technique that gets their floors clean?

It's new technology.

So, if a customer is asking you, "Will you scrub the floors on your hands and knees?"

hands and knees, that now no longer works for them.

Are they asking you to replace a technique that is the only technique that gets their floors clean?

Or is the result of having the floors completely cleaned by hands and knees?

or is it something completely different?

It could be a house cleaner that they fell in love with that did the floors on their

hands and knees, that now no longer works for them.

And they're trying to bring that house

cleaner back by hiring someone else that does the same techniques.

Could it be any of those three things?

Then you have to ask the customer, "Would you be open to a new technique that provides

your floors just as clean?

If the person says, "Well yeah, I mean I guess so."

only when the floors were scrubbed on their hands and knees?

Or number three, will you be open to a new house cleaner that has new methods and new

techniques and new technology that can provide the same results but with different methods?"

It's kind of the same question but asked three different ways.

Would you be open to that?

If the person says, "Well yeah, I mean I guess so."

The result is the same.

Because if you're in business for a long period of time, I promise you this:

It doesn't need somebody on a little wheelie cart underneath the car.

If the oil gets changed, the result is the same whether it's on a lift or whether the

guy bangs his head going underneath your car to change the oil.

The result is the same, but it's less wear-and-tear on your body than for you to get down on the

floor on your hands and knees and scrubs the floors.

Until we meet again,

and I get to help you find an answer.

So if you choose to scrub hardwood floors on your hands

on my hands and knees. Guess why?

Your body will take a toll. And you have to protect yourself at every move.
