Hey guys its Sagar from Tecworkz.
The amazing guys at Zhiyun, sent me their Smooth 3 gimbal for smartphones.
So in this video, we will unbox and have a brief overview of it.
It comes in this white box, with name and picture of the Smooth 3 on top.
And at the back, the box indicates some of its functions, battery life that you can expect,
and the accessories which are included.
Alright now lets get to the unboxing.
Removing the outer sleeve, we have another box which contains the stabiliser and the
accessories.
Opening this box, we get to the carrying case which is holding the Smooth 3.
Its not a hard shell case, but it has a nice shape to it.
Lets put it aside for now, and look at other things i the box.
We get a User guide, with all the installation, setup and trouble shooting information.
Then there is this flat type USB type A to Micro USB cable for charging the gimbal.
And a strap to attach to the case, so you can carry it around easily.
Now, lets put these things aside, and get back to the Smooth 3.
In this case, is the gimbal and a silica gel package, which we will put aside.
Smooth 3 is very well designed and is completely made of metal.
It feels really robust and great when you are holding it.
I like the design on these dials and the attention to minute details, that make this gimbal look
so good.
It can hold big phones, and balance their weight very well.
Its maximum payload capacity is 260grams, which is really great for a gimbal of this
size.
On the handle, we get a smooth joystick to control the movement of the smartphone, a
Power button, a mode select button, and a dial on the left, which can be set to perform
various actions, through the app.
By default, it is set for zooming in and out.
You also get a LED status light.
On the left above the wheel, is a micro usb port for charging this gimbal.
At the bottom is a tripod thread, which makes it super easy to mount on a tripod.
The 4600mAh battery sits inside the lower part of the handle.
Once fully charged, it can last for upto 14 hours of continuous usage.
I haven't got a chance to test the battery out yet, but I haven't charged it since
it arrived.
I am not sure about 14 hours, but it definitely lasts for over 10hours.
To turn it on, you just have to press the power button for couple of seconds, and the
LED turns on, and it starts balancing the phone, and goes into bluetooth pairing mode.
Putting your phone in, is as easy as sliding it in the holder.
You can then adjust the knobs and balance the phone manually.
Don't worry too much about it, as the motors inside, are strong enough to balance the phone.
Once balanced and turned on, you can press the mode button to get to various functions,
and move the joystick around to control the movement of the phone.
If you feel that the gimbal is moving too fast or too slow, you can use Zhiyun Assistant
app, to fine tune the speed of motors to your liking.
I really like the versatility that the Smooth 3 gives you.
It is well built, has great battery, I have actually used it for a few days after making
this video, and I am really liking it so far.
I will be ready with my full review of the Smooth 3, in a few days.
I also have the DJI OSMO Mobile.
