AN ORWELLIAN GEORGE SOROS CALLS FACEBOOK AND GOOGLE A MENACE FOR HACKING OUR MINDS
Apparently forgetting that he owns stock in the megalithic corporations Facebook and Google,
billionaire George Soros called the companies a menace to society because they are
monopolistic and deliberately engineer their products to be addictive.
Soros is, of course, correct, and his statements come on the heels of comments recently made
by ex-Facenook executive, Chamath Palihapitiya, who made headlines with his scathing criticism
of the platform.
I feel tremendous guilt I think in the back deep, deep recesses of our minds, we
kind of knew something bad could happen It literally is a point now where I think
we have created tools that are ripping apart the social fabric of how society works.
That is truly where we are.
It is a point in time where people need to hard break from some of these tools, and the
things that you rely on.
The short-term, dopamine-driven feedback loops weve created are destroying how society
works No civil discourse, no cooperation, misinformation, mistruth.
And its not an American problem this is a global problem.
It is eroding the core foundations of how people behave by and between each other.
~Chamath Palihapitiya
Soros appearance at Davos is already being broadly criticized, as he went out of his
way to dramatize his personal opinions of the Trump administration, and because his
statements about Google and Facebook have an almost Orwellian quality as he talks about
the need to free peoples minds from certain information.
As reported by The Independent:
Mr Soros also turned his attentions to Google and Facebook and argued they were in need
of regulation.
Branding the companies a menace, he warned against the rise of ever more powerful
monopolies.
The power to shape peoples attention is increasingly concentrated in the hands
of a few companies, he said.
It takes a real effort to assert and defend what John Stuart Mill called the freedom
of mind.
There is a possibility that once lost, people who grow up in the digital age will have difficulty
in regaining it.
He added: People without the freedom of mind can be easily manipulated.
This danger does not loom only in the future; it already played an important role in the
2016 US presidential elections.
Soros is well-known for his fiscal support of social revolutionary movements around the
world include his support for Antifa, which serves as fifth-column agitators to foment
political instability and press for communism in the United States.
Soros continues:
They deliberately engineer addiction to the services they provide.
This can be very harmful, particularly for adolescents.
There is a similarity between internet platforms and gambling companies.
Casinos have developed techniques to hook gamblers to the point where they gamble away
all their money, even money they dont have.
Something very harmful and maybe irreversible is happening to human attention in the digital
age.
Not just distraction or addiction: social media companies are inducing people to give
up their autonomy.
Soros also said that giants like Facebook and Google should be looked at as public utilities,
calling for government regulation of the platforms, a move which would completely solidify political
control over the a vast majority of content on the internet.
As it is, the censorship we see emerging today is motivated by corporate elites, however
regulating these companies would introduce federal control over content as well.
An Orwellian nightmare.

War Thunder. Schräge Musik: a story of hesitation and confusion - Duration: 7:13.
Schräge Musik: a story of hesitation and confusion
As you are probably well aware, schrage musik, or "off-tune music",
is the name Germans gave to fighter-mounted upward-firing autocannons.
We have a few aircraft with that type of gun placement in our game as well,
like the Ki-45 tei and Do 217 J-2.
What considerably fewer people know is that the story of this design
is a story full of hesitation and confusion.
The Luftwaffe started to use schrage musik as early as the spring of 1943.
But it took the British a whole year to realize what was actually happening with their bombers.
When they finally connected the dots…
the top brass decided to withhold this information from the pilots
in order not to frighten them. Really.
That's a given that during WWI
both sides experimented heavily with different designs for upward-firing guns to fight bombers and airships.
It's also a given that the British themselves kept on tinkering with these designs even after WWI
Yet again, it's a given that Jack Northrop already showed his P-61 to the R.A.F.!
Yup, that P-61, where you could easily switch the four machine guns in the turret to the upward-firing position.
What's even crazier is that the British weren't the only ones suddenly baffled by schrage musik:
When American pilots started to suffer unsuspected losses on the Pacific front,
it somehow took them, also, quite a while to figure it out.
But you'd be wrong to think that at least Germans knew what they were doing. Uh-uh!
One of the German aces of WWI that went by the name of Thiede
suggested that the Luftwaffe should consider this design way before WW2
but nobody listened.
The Reich was getting its war machine ready for conquest.
Protecting German skies?
Who needs that when you bring war to the others' doorstep?
People kept mentioning schrage musik even after the start of the new big war.
But while Wehrmacht tanks were rolling over one European country after another
and aircraft with black crosses on their wings ruled the skies of Europe
the ears of the high command stayed deaf to these ideas.
Only after the failure of the Battle of Britain and the catastrophic losses of Moscow and Stalingrad,
the Germans started to sober up.
The desperately needed something — anything!
To try to stop the terror that was the night bombing raids of the Allied forces.
That's when this unconventional gun placement came in handy.
But even at this point it was a kind of grassroots thing — both in Germany and Japan.
The first to change the way guns were installed in the Luftwaffe was Oberleutnant Rudolf Schoenert
and only after his fellow pilots followed suit
the high command finally declared that night fighters should be outfitted with schrage musik right on the factory floor.
The aircraft that underwent this kind of modernization included the Do-217,
the Ju-88 and the Me-110
and even the newest Heinkel He-219.
At roughly the same time, on the other side of the world, in Rabaul, where bombs were falling practically 24/7
commander Yasuna Kozono decided to do the same with his Nakajima J1N1
which led to him being penalized for acting without an order.
Even though he shot down two B-17s during his very first night mission!
Keep in mind that German pilots were already using modern radar to find targets
while the Japanese still had to rely on their eyes.
Nevertheless, the potential of Kozono's modification was so obvious that the Navy took immediate notice.
Very soon all sorts of aircraft including the Nakajima C6N Saiun reconnaissance aircraft,
the Yokosuka P1Y Ginga bombers, even some Zeroes! were being refitted to carry upward-firing guns.
The Army followed in the Navy's footsteps, rearming the Ki-45
and even equipping Ki-46s with 37mm Ho-203 autocannons!
Why was schrage musik that devastatingly effective?
The first reason was that a night fighter with upward-firing guns
was almost invisible when flying against the background of the dark earth — even at an arm's reach.
What made the matters worse was that most bombers of the time rarely had effective ventral armaments
if any at all...which made them easy prey.
Number two. The element of surprise.
Even in late 1944
Allies were still not ready to believe that German pilots would really commit to this exotic way of mounting guns
which they did, coming up with special training methods and manuals.
Number three.
Schrage musik was relatively easy to set up — and use.
Almost any fighter aircraft was eligible for this kind of modernization
and it didn't take much skill for an experienced pilot to aim upward-firing guns at an aircraft in straight, level flight.
The hard part was to get close.
After that — the prize was yours for the taking.

My Favorite Books & Movies (Part 1) By: Beyond Transmission - Duration: 7:25.
hey what's up guys this week we've been
all over the Mediterranean we've been
through Italy and France and now we are
in Spain and we are in Barcelona check
it out the second F Emilia today is just
kind of a different episode I wanted to
talk a little bit about just kind of
real talk with you guys some of my
favorite books and movies and podcasts
and YouTube channels that really helped
me kind of transition from this whole
religious experience to more of a
spiritual experience and even if you are
religious I think you guys might really
enjoy a lot of this stuff anybody really
that's looking to you know to progress
personally and enhance their spiritual
life I think might really enjoy some of
this stuff but anyway I starting with
books I would highly recommend checking
out a book called chakra therapy by
Keith Sherwood that's probably been one
of my favorite books it's a lot more
than just chakra cleansing I you know I
picked it up thinking it would just be
teaching me about chakras but it's
basically like a guide to life and talks
a lot about different religions and how
they all coincide and just really kind
of understanding the big picture thing
so I'd highly recommend that one another
one that I've really enjoyed is Michael
singers the untethered soul that's a
great book just about not attaching and
kind of opening your mind to different
ideas and such another one would be
waking up by Sam Harris and that's kind
of like a guide to spirituality without
religion but again you're just really
great for anybody another thing that I
would I would recommend anybody read
that might seem a little overwhelming if
you're not familiar with it but it's the
daodejing you can actually just download
online just a PDF for free and read it
and I think I mean it's a real easy
read in the sense that it's pretty
shorts you could probably get through it
in a day or two but it's just so
beautiful and poetic that you know I
took a little more time reading it and
there's also a bunch of books about the
daodejing as well that kind of explain
it a little bit more so I would highly
recommend that and then the last two
books I would recommend would be
allusions by Richard Bach that is it's a
fiction but there is a lot of kind of
parables throughout it talks about this
reluctant Messiah and in Richard Bach
basically playing himself learning from
this this this Messiah and it's really
really interesting
yeah and lastly I would recommend a book
by David Lynch called catching the big
fish and really anything by David Lynch
is gonna be great he is a filmmaker
director and really big in
Transcendental Meditation so in ways of
movies one that I would really recommend
that I actually watched twice the first
time that I saw it it's called the shift
by Wayne Dyer this shift this movement
from the morning to the afternoon of
your life generally it's preceded by
what we call a quantum moment I would
highly recommend that movie it's so good
another another film well two films
actually that I would recommend is
samsara and Baraka not so there's no
message there's no narrative in it but
it's kind of like a guided meditation in
a sense because it's mostly it I mean
it's shot all over the world but just
really beautiful cinematography that
kind of opens your mind to different
cultures and different ways of seeing
things and so that that really opened my
mind as well I I would say most of what
I've been watching lately has been like
YouTube videos and so a couple YouTube
channels that I've really been following
is Sadhguru see if you believe that it's
gone or if you believe there is no god
you're in the same boat you believe
something that you do not know if you
see I do not know
the longing to know will arise within
you if the longing arises the seeking
and Isis is the seeking arises the
possibility of knowing exists it's
usually a crowd of people in a room that
are just kind of asking you know a bunch
of different questions anything and
that's really cool somebody very similar
to him if you like that would be mushi
from one candle you can light a million
candles if one common lights their own
candle right there you can let a million
souls so powerful is there and again
really great stuff especially if you're
trying to get a little bit more into
self-awareness living the moments also
anything by Eckhart Tolle it's really
good this is the most vital thing in
spirits alive is to be able to watch
your mind to be the observer of your
mind so that the mind is not controlling
you and that is how you eliminate stress
yes and suffering and and of course my
favorite who was a huge factor in in
basically introducing me to Eastern
philosophy and explaining in a way
that's understandable and interesting
would be Alan Watts is that each
individual experiences himself as a
peculiarly separate being in other words
every man thinks of this world as a
collection of objects and speaking of
Alan Watts even though he has passed on
there is a podcast of all of Alan Watts
is like speeches and discourses which is
really interesting and speaking of
podcasts a couple of my favorite
podcasts would be first of all the Joe
Rogan experience that podcast is
extremely interesting for me and very
insightful he has just awesome guests on
there some of my favorite episodes on
there is where he has Neil deGrasse
Tyson if there is really an infinity
there is not only a you and and I but
there's a you and I and everybody else
we've ever met and all the exact events
and the exact same order have gone down
an infinite number of time
including this conversation okay except
except there is I don't how many people
know this but often its mind-blowing
when you learn that some infinities are
bigger than others anyway you guys just
thought I'd share with you some some
insightful content and and media that
I've been into as a blade that had been
kind of inspirational to me and
educational as I've been creating this
channel as I've been transitioning from
religion spirituality but again anybody
can be spiritual whether you're
religious or not and I think I think you
know always expanding our mind being
open that's the best way to live you
know and so with that said you guys stay
curious and we'll see you next time

What You'll Be Creating.
A Mockup that creates Vector Art Effect in only 60 SECONDS
Welcome again, LIKE this video NOW to help us.
Let's start by creating a new document with the given details
In this tutorial, We'll create a paint effect and convert it to a vector art without using Pen Tool
You can download these assets from video description
After Importing your image
Right-click it and choose Rasterize Layer
Grab Crop Tool and hit ENTER key twice to crop the image with the same dimensions of the document dimensions
Convert to Smart Object
Rename it "Main"
Duplicate 3 times with CTRL+J
Double-click any smart object's thumbnail twice to open it
Now, we're going to create the paint effect action
After clicking Record keep an eye on the Actions Panel to see what you are recording
It's recording now
Filter>Sharpen>Smart Sharpen and enter these values
Note that, it's been recorded here
Now go to Stylize>Diffuse
Choose Anisotropic
Recorded!
Now Rotate your document 90°
Apply latest filter "Diffuse" from Filter>Diffuse
Rotate 90 again in the same direction which is clockwise
Repeat again
Rotating image lets you apply the Diffuse filter in different angles and prevent shearing lines**
This is the best technique to create the oil paint effect without using Oil Filter
We're done. Click Stop Recording icon
You can apply this action 2 or 3 times on any image to get this soft oil paint effect quickly and effectively
**Shearing Lines: By applying only Diffuse multiple times you'll notice a shearing lines in your image. This is why I've used image rotation.
Let's get back
We still inside the smart object. Let's apply the action again
Select the image, then select the action, and hit Play button
Wait a little bit
Click on Smart Sharpen twice to apply that command only
Technically we can say that we've applied this paint action twice and applied smart sharpen command at last
Hit CTRL+S to save what we've did for now in the smart object
Note that the changes is applied to all smart objects, Because we duplicated "Main" smart object twice So that they share the same root.
Select bottom smart object
Apply Cutout filter through Filter> Filter Gallery> Artistic> Cutout
Enter These values 8, 5, 1
Then apply Unsharp Mask filter
We've done here.
Select the second Smart Object to add details
Choose Cutout filter from Filter Gallery
Etner Values 8, 5, 1
Double click here to change filter opacity to 30%
Again, Apply cutout filter with different values to give different details
Again, Change opacity to 30%
Again, this is the last one I promise
Change opacity to 30%
Ok, Let's Sharpen our image
We've done here
Let's move to the 3rd Smart Object
Apply High Pass filter
a value between 2~3 would be OK
Change Blend Mode to Vivid Light
Select the top smart object
Then, Add Curves Adjustment Layer
Levels
Vibrance
Color Balance
Double-click any smart object's thumbnail to open it
Import your image and resize it
Rasterize it
Run the action 2~3 times.
Run again
Double click Smart Sharpen command to apply it
CTRL+S to save the smart object, Then, get back to your main document
Wow, That's pretty cool
Let's test again.
Double-click any smart object's thumbnail
Import your image
Resize it
Rasterize it
Run the action 2 times
Run again
With that technique you can get a realistic Vector Art Effect in almost 60 Seconds without using Pen tool.
Double click Smart Sharpen command.
CTRL+S to save the smart object.

How to Draw an Eye With Pen & Ink (old man) Narrated - Duration: 3:43.
Hello my friends and welcome to another Tuesday of tutorial!
I am Leonardo Pereznieto and today we will draw an eye.
We begin by marking a tilted guideline and then we will
make three short lines for the upper part.
One, two and three
and two lines for the bottom one.
We add the lacrimal, for the tears, and then round any corners
and lines.
Good!
Let´s sketch the iris the upper part of the circle will
be partially covered.
We round the lower line and draw the thickness
of the lid.
I make baggy eyes and wrinkles
because this will be the eye of an older person.
And now that we have the basic sketch in pencil, I will
go over the lines with a fountain pen.
I´m using a Justus 95 which is my favorite pen
for drawing.
The complete list of materials is in the description below the video.
We go over the lines and then we start shading.
The shading I will do it with the hatching
and crosshatching.
That is with parallel lines and then crossing them for
further darkness.
Remember that the white part of the eye is not really white,
especially due to its roundness and shading.
The upper part of the eye catches the shadow from the eyelid,
and so is darker.
We also draw and shade the foldings of the skin.
The eyes vary a lot, but some have the outer edge of the iris, darker.
WIth a shape like this.
I leave blank the space for small reflections, and then darken
the iris hatching and crosshatching.
Especially the upper part again.
Remember that this ink, cannot be erased, so it is better to go on
little by little, rather than risking going too dark.
I LOVE drawing with fountain pen so much!
I could do this all day.
It is such a pleasure!
Let´s increase the darkness of the foldings, and this lower part, and then give
a light tone to the skin.
Like so…
And we should also darken this upper part because it is inset slightly
and therefore, in shade.
By the way, soon I will hold a drawing contest, in which you
will be able to win a nice fountain pen.
So, stayed posted to this channel. I will give you the guidelines to participate
in a few weeks.
Let´s add some more wrinkles over here and over here.
I think it is important to leave a white reflection, on the eye.
It gives it a lot of life!
Don´t you think?
And finally, let´s add some capillaries
… to give it more reality.
And we give it the last touches, the last details… and it´s ready!
If you enjoyed, please give it a LIKE! share it to your friends and subscribe
to Fine Art-Tips.
And I will see you, on Tuesday ;)

An Exclusive Look Inside Writing Season 2 Of "The Quad" | The Quad - Duration: 3:21.
- A school is not made of its buildings.
A school is made of its people.
- [Crowd] Damn you Strong.
Damn you Strong.
Damn you Strong.
Damn you Strong.
Damn you Strong.
Damn you Strong.
- I'm so excited about this season's writing because
in every situation there is no easy answer.
We're taking a deeper dive into what it means
to have a show that is set on the campus of an HBCU.
We've treated the school more like a character this season.
- Georgia A and M is tradition, pride, excellence.
- We learn what's important about the school
through the people who're there.
Season one, we introduced you
to a lot of interesting characters.
Season two, we are going deeper
into the personal lives of all of our characters.
- Shall we begin?
- I think this season on "The Quad", the question we ask
ourselves is, "How far are you willing to go for what
"you believe in, or what you want".
- Georgia A and M's financially strapped.
And you are an Atlanta State alum who happens
to be a self-made billionaire.
Put you in a perfect position to save us from ourselves.
- One of the big themes of this season is conflict,
and not conflict for conflict sake.
But, as we look at the whole season arc,
we get to look at which characters go
from being just fun loving, freshmen, to activist
who will do anything to keep the school independent.
(drums)
- There's a moment when history's caught up with us,
and we right back where we started.
Some say it's a set back.
Dreamers believe this is a re-start.
I call this state pro law.
- So there's a lot of interesting dynamics,
a lot of wonderful conflict.
But, there's also fun.
They're, you know, they're after all college students.
So, there's fun to be had.
There are parties to be had.
There's hooking up to be done.
So, I'm excited about a lot of it.
And, mostly each character,
there's a new layer of depth to each character.
- [Crowd] Damn you Strong.
My schools better.
Damn you Strong.
- You got your up side down.
You got your ears in lock.
- We introduced the audience to the cast last season,
and now we get to learn who each and every person is.
The big question as the writers sat around the table was:
who do they say they are,
and who then do they prove themselves to be?

Kosine: "Grammy Nominated, Song Of Year, 'Anaconda,' Nicki Minaj…And Then We Lost" | BET's Mancave - Duration: 3:45.
- [Slick] Oh we behind the scenes of Man Cave,
where I'm here with such a prestigious media mogul,
Executive producer here, Jeff Johnson.
- [Jeff] Oh, that's me.
- [Slick] Yes, sir.
That's you. That's you. - [Jeff] Oh yeah, and I'm here
with the prestigious man about town.
- [Slick] Yes.
- [Jeff] Yes.
- [Slick] Yes, preferably the south side of town.
(laughs)
- [Jeff] It's Man Cave b*tches!
(upbeat hip hop)
- [Slick] Man Cave is all about realness.
Pure, unadulterated honesty.
You know, just a place where guys can feel free to speak,
and be guys, without being quote unquote P.C.
- [Tank] Man Cave is comprised of four gentleman
that aren't necessarily the same,
but kind of are.
- [Kosine] There's nothing on TV
with brothers having real conversations.
Sometimes there's issues that come about
and you don't know how to feel.
So you turn to the Man Cave
and see how brothers are feeling.
[Jeff] I want to hear about that moment when sh*t got real.
- [Kosine] Okay. - [Tank] Wow.
- [Kosine] That takes me right back to 2015,
being Grammy-nominated for the hit pop song of the year,
Anaconda: Nicki Minaj.
I knew I was about to win, and then we lost.
I didn't save no money,
and my ass was back in Chicago, at my Auntie house,
eating arroz con pollo.
- [Tank] Mm, arroz con pollo.
- [Slick] You talking about your auntie with the ass?
- [Kosine] Stop.
(group laughs)
- [Tank] Everybody has their own take on what's going on,
and it's very rare that you're able to speak,
you know what I mean,
and tell that perspective on national television.
You know what I mean?
Especially from a Black man's point of view.
- [Jeff] There are some stories, y'all...
That you just can't possibly believe that they're true,
but they are.
Dynamite on the dick.
- [Tank] What?
- [Slick] Wait... Come on.
- [Tank] Hell nah...
- [Jeff] What do you think about this video,
of this sister who got attacked by a store owner,
it's a pizza shop,
they wanted her to leave his job.
- [Slick] Oh man, oh. I'm livid.
(production noise)
I'm so upset. - [Kosine] Me too.
- [Slick] Whoever was filming that,
- [Kosine] That...
- [Slick] and didn't help that woman, he need his ass whooped
- [Joe] Folks think that Black men
are sort of, a monolithic thing,
when really, we are super diverse, right?
We come from different socio-economic backgrounds,
we come from different geographical areas,
different ages,
different education ranges,
from hoods, some people are hood.
Some people are more, you know, sophisticated.
But it all makes up the tapestry which is us,
as Black men.
There's really not a show or a piece of media,
that really speaks to that.
- [Steve] Man Cave is an exciting place.
It's interesting because it represents an opportunity
for Black men to come together.
To speak openly, passionately, honestly,
about the things that affect them.
That shape them.
You know, what's happening in their personal lives,
community, politics, pop culture, relationships.
We also as showrunners and co-creators,
want to create a space where Black men are free
to be themselves.
And to be honest.
And defy some of the traditional stereotypes
that we expect of who the Black man is.
That's what this show is.
- [Jeff] What brings me absolute joy
about being in this moment is that it is bigger than me.
And the greatest blessing
is that there are people working
because of an idea that we had.
There is a cast that came together because they're brothers.
And nobody is jocking to be the leader.
Everybody is appreciating.
The most fulfilling thing,
is to see a symphony of excellent Black folks,
and others,
making this show real for an audience
that frankly has never seen a show like this,
for Black men.
Ever.
