DREA ALPHONSO: Hey, everyone.

Drea and Tim here with another EDU in 90.

Many of you requested episodes on computer science programs.

So in upcoming months, we'll be featuring

Google programs that can help bring

you coding into the classroom.

TIM ANDERSON: And to start, we'll

focus on CS First, a program that teaches kids

the fundamentals of coding.

And one of the best parts about the program

is that it requires no prior experience coding

for teachers or students.

DREA ALPHONSO: Google CS First is a free computer science

curriculum geared for students ages 9 to 14.

The program uses themes like music, art, and sports

to show students that coding can be a way

to explore their many passions.

TIM ANDERSON: That's right.

The CS First program highlights the role

that coding plays across a diverse set of industries

so that students can understand that it's

a skill that can be used in ways that they may not

have initially imagined.

With CS First, students use a programming language

called Scratch to build their own animated stories.

In Scratch, students code using blocks that snap together

like puzzle pieces.

For example, in the Code Your Own Google Logo activity,

students design their own version of Google's logo

by drawing and editing letters, adding animation, and more.

Teachers and volunteers do not need

to be familiar with coding in order

to guide students through the CS First activities.

Each activity and theme comes with tutorial videos

to help students understand the basics of computer science.

DREA ALPHONSO: In addition to instructional videos,

the program provides lesson plans, solution sheets

and other resources so that anyone

with a passion for helping students explore and create

has the tools they need to lead a CS First club.

When you sign up to start a CS First club,

you can download and print the materials in English, French,

German, and Italian.

In some countries, you can even receive a free kit

of printed materials, including stickers and passports,

for your students.

Hi there!

I'll go out and walk

From the middle to

the other side and...

I got a question why I've stopped vlogging a while ago

Yes, it was

I started to make music instead

the vlogging...

I stopped for a while

but when you get the question why you have stopped and

knowing that people actually watched then...

then it's a little different

then I think I might start vlogging again

so I'll do it a little while here today

What's going on then? It does not happen so much

I'm moving the recording studio

in Sandviken

It will be moved to Gavle from the first

of march so I'm

planning the move

We will end up at Norra Rådmansgatan 2 in

Gimlin's premises in Gavle

There is Gimlin on the wall

And they are an old

photo firm that has lasted for a long time

and we will start working with them

In this house I actually

grow up

at that time it was green but now it is

yellow with red knots

so

earlier green but now yellow

with red knots. This is the old premises of the telephone company

in Storvik

A giant high mast, I would love to climb there sometime and

see the view but

I don't think I have any chance to do that

The worst thing about being outside

filming and vlogging in the winter is that

you have gloves and...

the stuff have touchscreen so every time you press it

on or off or so

take off the gloves.

I'm the kind of person who shot videos with my cell phone most often, I have a DSLR too but

I think it's much easier

with the cell phone, it's in the pocket

and, although I have some

extra gadgets like a

microphone

and I also have a

selfiestick,

a gimbal and other stuff

Anyway

it's actually

Well, it's easier!

As I said before, I have a gimbal

to stabilize but I do not have it with me today

It does not work well outdoors

when it's cold, minus degrees and so on

and...

Then there's actually no idea

to bring that

gimbal

It is pretty hard to walk here

uphill in Storvik

I am on my way to my

old father

to give his cats food

and let them go outside

if they want to go out in this cold. I wonder ...

And later today

I'm going to get on the bus to Sandviken, then we will have a rehearsal

to the Live Carousel, which starts

with the Catapult on Sunday

Sunday 12 we will be in Gavle and

play at the old catholic church

What I know, there is no church anymore

It was a church before

There we will run the Live Carousel

Lots of

bands

and surely one or another solo artist to

Platina, we are a cover band otherwise but

in the Live Carousel we're going to play only orignal songs.

Four songs, as we know now

At least the first round, maybee five next round

It's not about we do not have more songs

We have lots of songs

but the playing time is only around 20 minutes

Four songs, we thought, it's about five minutes per song with talking between the songs...

So, now I will not let you follow any further

It will get very dark in just a few minutes, I've been here for about an hour and the dusk begins to come

This sunday, then we play

The Live Carousel in Gavle

at the old catholic church

We, that's Platina

that's, as standard, is me and Calle Gustafsson but

to the Live Carousel that

starts for 2018. The Catapult on

sunday

And then we have extra musicians, Erik Johansson on drums

and Christoffer Persson on bass

It will be really nice and

interesting to play with

four persons again

It was a couple of years ago

Then we called the band "Johan Bakke & Mosquera"

but now we will be named

Platina. And in the Live Carousel we

will not be playing cover songs, then we will

only play original songs.

Last year, we set up as a duo with cover songs

and backing tracks but we received such bad criticism so we

decided that this year

Either we set up with a live band

with our own songs or we will not put up at all

But now we will play on Sunday, and we will practise tonight

As I said, the evening begins to come over Storvik

It's getting really dark

but there is a lot of snow that lights up at least

and it's a little fun and interesting

The Stenback School in Storvik

I have not gone there

A pretty old school building as you can see

Yes, snow and cold

and not fun at all

No, I don't like this at all

Boring

but

I have to take it for

one, two

maybee two or three more months

Let's see, it's in the middle of january now. February, march

Two months, then I can expect it has begun to disappear

Then three, it's gone

in the middle of april

and then it's may and then it's

june, july and summer

june, july, august

Exact!

Then it will be autumn and then,

sometime in October or November,

I'm planning a trip to Thailand

I would prefer to be in Thailand now

Soon I will be home, I'm walking down

The Central Hill

But alright, it's in the middle of

maybee they have

it's just experience

I have played there a couple of times and I know that it's always lots of great bands in

hey no worries we have a 12-foot electrified fence surrounding the place

there's no way George could get past there

meanwhile on a little volcanic island up on the ocean a little island called

Skull Island we have a little monkey no one has come what is happening here

King Kong is mutating what this mean to the world

episode passes George first King Kong battle to the finish who will be our

victor okay guys back with another pitch the movie toy playset and it is totally

awesome this is canister contact genetic

containment division with subject and this does include Dwayne Johnson the

rock also here he is in the one of the other sets so they have him with

different clothes there and that's when George the gorilla is smaller so this

must be before he's mutated I believe well anyways like I showed you on the

other packages I love the packaging to I mean they did they laner did not skimp

anywhere guys not with the packaging not with the characters the detail

everything I love the work they did on these ah if you've seen the King Kong

toys these are even superior to the King Kong toys and the detail on the

characters are is awesome too so here we have George the gorilla I want to say

this is before he was mutated but I'm not really sure here we have a synopsis

of the whole story so this breaks down Dwayne Johnson rock is Davis Koya and

he's trying to save his buddy George because him and the wolf and the

alligator get mutated the huge size and the soldiers tried to kill them okay if

you guys watch my reviews of the other ones guys I cannot say enough of these

sets I mean they just did such a superb job if you're gonna buy any

should set this year by these ones because you're gonna love them I'm

telling you the smaller ones here they come with a bunch of weapons where the

bigger ones did not really have that many weapons so this is San Diego

Wildlife Sanctuary so this must be before Jorge mutated so anyways that's

what's in the package before I open it I will go ahead free them and we'll check

them out okay guys these smaller sets are totally

awesome to the smaller ones they focus more on destructive environments and

weapons for the characters which is cool so if you buy all the sets and combine

them you get some really cool like different stuff so here you've got

George George looks really nice and peaceful here and with the San Diego

Wildlife Sanctuary uh building like behind him which comes with the set I

believe this is before he gets mutated so with this guy there is no moving

parts though so you got to keep that in mind when you buy him

he does look really cool though but you are stuck with him in that pose where if

you buy the medium-size set that's this one here this one he does open and close

his mouth and he has a striking action so you could have him hit stop maybe

make have him break this environment apart or just rip it down or whatever so

that's the medium-sized one and then you've got the large George which is

guy's huge so I did review the other ones to go ahead and check those up okay

then with this one you also got like a destructible environment like I said

this is San Diego Wildlife Sanctuary and it looks like the gates connect to

something else I wonder in the future if maybe they'll have something or they

just want you to connect at all or wonder now

there they're not there's not enough room here to fasten them together

but anyways like I said destructible environment these break apart so you

could have like George like tear it apart so that's really cool but anyways

on this one too they did a great job with Dwayne Johnson

the rock art in this movie he is Davis Okoye so uh like I said I mean they did

give him a different outfit from the other set and with this one they gave

lots of weapons you got this big huge gun here shooting some type of canister

or something out of it he comes with a knife backpack I believe

this is a cell phone it fits into this slot on the backpack there then it comes

with this I'm not sure exactly what that is and this piece here which I haven't

figured this piece out yet either ba anyways detail wise I mean take a

look at his face I mean that looks exactly like him so I mean they really

did not skimp anywhere 360 degree movement on the arm his elbow bends 360

degree movement on the elbow very similar to GI Joe characters if you seen

them he's got like an empty holster here could probably squeeze something in

there ah his leg moves 360 it bends at the knee actually does it

yeah it moves 360 okay and he's got like brown khaki boots so really cool-looking

character too

okay that was awesome watch tomorrow's episode to see who will win George or

King Kong guys I love making these videos for you guys I do have over a
