I was getting worried about you agent Academy episode 9 recorded on January
2nd 2018 I'm agent Guney guy and I'm agent Soho
and welcome to a brand new year and a brand new podcast with a brand new host
we're getting rid of agents oh wait there's somebody to talk to you about so
uh 2018 and the house all right on the
planet I don't know so in the calendar in the
calendar today so what are we gonna see in 2018 Niantic wise thanks for i'm 2.0
that's my guess you know we're gonna see that we're gonna see some new pokemon go
stuff a new partnership all kinds of really cool stuff going on this year
it's gonna be a real big one for Niantic you know the Harry Potter stuff coming
up too and it's gonna be crazy it's gonna be awesome I just can't wait so
let's get right into sitrep shall we I don't know if you've been following the
circle-k crap at all mm-hmm I almost hate even talking about
this because you know first topic of the day negativity right I've been doing the
circle-k thing I wanted to do the new point stuff enough to get a gift card to
give away on the show and right around 7 points it just stopped giving me points
every time I go I do the same thing I do every single time I get a drink
scan the thing I even see on the register it says like it doesn't say
ingress code anymore that they changed it with the new stuff it just says like
app scanned or something stupid like that but it verifies that you've had the
thing scanned mm-hmm and but it stopped giving points so I was like well crap so
today I was like well I need to at least spend the seven points I have
because we only have to like the fifteenth to use the points from
December and that is now no longer a thing like you can't get points at all
anymore apparently even though it was supposed to not like it was supposed to
revert I guess to the other one but when I go into the app it just gives me an
error message that says basically this thing doesn't exist anymore so I have 7
points it even says it on the front screen but when I go in to use them I
can't so now even the 7 points that I have even though I should have more like
15 or 20 points I can even use those so it's just like and I and this I don't
blame Niantic on this because it's Circle K zap and it's really the app
developers who screwed up here right in there multiple things
maybe somebody miscommunicated somewhere but just the app itself does not seem to
be functioning as they said and I have screen caps of the date so I know the
dates right and it was from the app so they just screwed that up and so anyway
I sent them an email to see like hey what's going on how do I take care of
any one of these situations that your app has created in my life and one of
those is not getting codes to get cool ingress stuff no I'm waiting to hear
back from that so I'll report back to that but it's it's like this isn't how
these things should run right like yeah Niantic should be aware that this is not
working and they should get on Circle K who should then get on the app company
and get things working because even though it technically isn't Niantic
fault it makes them look bad you know the players who are trying to
participate are having a crappy time in it yeah it's also kind of a bad
impression for this this I don't know what you call it business model I guess
or whatever the mechanic I don't know partnership mechanic because you know I
was kind of hoping that they were gonna open this
to new places in circle-k was kind of you know the first attempt and a first
partnership as as far as getting together with a partner not just for
sponsorship but for like offering customers something you know because
like you know circle-k can offer their stuff to us at a discount rate or we get
codes or whatever you know everybody's happy so and a while ago about a year
ago maybe two years ago really I thought that they were gonna open this up to
Walmart because a lot of the different Walmart's around America are portals I
don't know why so at one point when I went on travel one time I stopped at
every Walmart probably about eight different Walmart's and I submitted all
of them as portals back then all them got denied and I thought well that's
funny because there's a lot of walmart portals and it's not like a you know
it's not like some art outside you know I like Target you know it's not like the
target balls outside it it's just walmart itself and I thought well what's
wrong with my Walmart's as opposed to the Walmart's that are already in the
system I don't know I think I don't know but
anyway it seemed like that was gonna be a partnership and I was like yes cuz
there's a ton of Walmart's everywhere in the you know all over the United States
so yeah I think I'll need to delete those Walmart's I guess so I it really
doesn't make any sense other than oh I see a partnership but I don't know it's
a place for the community to gather and promote physical fitness alright yeah
it's like so I don't know maybe do a treadmill in the back of the store
it could be something beautiful but even like when you go in to do the codes at
Circle K like they're so confused no one there has any clue what the hell's going
on to begin with like they're like what's this for and you're like it's for
a game and like the God help you if you try to like explain it any further than
that like multiple times and the same person will ask me every time what's
this and I'm like I told you like this is the third time that I've told you
about the game and the thing and really at this point we just
scanned the bar so I cannot get my code at least go through the motion of trying
to get this dort right but you know it's a porno if
there's a thing out there it's a portal and it's so confusing but they should
get on board and they should be promoting it and telling people hey come
get some free stuff with this game like we're giving it away free when you buy
our soda pops and in our Cracker Jacks and and all these other stuff and and so
they could make more money but I mean I've switched from map code to Circle K
whenever possible yes for this but I won't until this is fixed like there's
no point right yeah yeah it seems like it's in that it's in that middle space
of between working and not working it's like the frustration of kind of works
sometimes yeah you know and that's like that's worse than then just not working
at all I think cuz yeah it's giving you false hope you know lying to you they're
saying hey come to our place instead of theirs you normally go there but come to
ours because we're gonna give you this stuff so you go there when it first
started I actually bought extra stuff I was like well I'll try this combo cuz
you're supposed to eat like a very rare thing and like I can't even eat half the
crap because it's all crap like it's stuff that I don't even want to put my
body not that it doesn't taste good probably doesn't either but it's like
full of like a bunch of crap that it but I just wanted to see the code like do
you really get some super cool well I didn't even get the code like it didn't
work and then I spent like weeks talking to like the help support for like the
app saying no this doesn't work and you know they'd be like well did you get a
receipt and I'm like ok so I'm gonna go try again and get a receipt and show you
it doesn't work and make sure all the stuff worked well yeah then it should
work follow blog like they don't ever like fix it and they don't ever let go
well here's your code we see that it happened so I went there and I spent
more money at this store than I would have and you're just going to be like
Noel it worked we suckered you in here but we
can give you anything for it and it makes the game look bad anyway so I
think that should be fixed and it should be illegal but I leave it alone right
because they're taking my money and they're saying they're gonna give me
something for that money and then they don't give it to you that's theft yeah
all right fraud or something gas station and they said yeah get your gas here and
you're like filling up and the things counting up but no gas is going into
your car name like go drive off and it's empty and you're like what I just paid
for it and they go I don't know should have been in there so you like get some
more gas and you fill it up again spend another 20 bucks maybe the problem is me
like they say when you keep doing the same thing over and over again you're
crazy right yeah you're gonna get a different response and then you drive
off again you're like well it's empty and they go well it should have been
full that's crazy it's weird and that's that's crazy anyway
good stuff though for the year let's move on to something happy right happy
so did you get all the codes that were 10 days before the new year and then the
one for the new year you know yeah yeah so the new year so you have 10 right so
it counted down 10 9 8 7 6 all the way to 1 and it they got bigger and bigger
like the the items that you get for each code on day 1 the last day you got a ton
of stuff I kept having to empty my inventory because every time I pop a
code it's like um can't you always get the error message and I use the desktop
intel map and to put cuz and it's like XM exceeded it's a weird thing I should
just say something like inventory full but I don't know it's a weird error
message so then I'm like dumping stuff I'm like I don't need 300 power cubes
let me just let me just destroy half of these so anyway I was super geared up
and then like you said there's a what there's one last one that happened on
the first of the year and it's it's the 2018 code it gives you
mm 18 X M in 2008 team AP and a ton of stuff even a Lawson cube all kinds of
really good stuff big big package there so make sure you
get that also another funny little thing about these codes did you notice the
little hidden 2018 within the code you know we were talking about that because
of we noticed in our codes there was some special letters in there we know
what they were so yeah so there's like like you said there's like this five
digits before there's the what you call that identity
yeah yeah the code identifier and then another five digits after it mm-hmm
you'll always know kind of where you got codes from like these all say 2018 right
in the center of the code are say double-a like a a capital because it's
an Academy so if you see a AAA right in the center of your code you know it came
from us I hope that's really awesome I love it really cool yeah I love it I
love it a lot and let's see what else we got here we got some activity on
investigate ingress comm there's a bunch of stuff there for people who are into
the investigations summary redacted reports and there was they were talking
in our agent Academy telegram which if you're not a member just go join the at
agent Academy telegram on your telegram because that's where you join a telegram
or your Instagram cuz that's a different thing but we are there but that there we
have folks talking about but stuff and they talked about that there was
supposed to be codes or clues given out every hour for like 24 hours or
something after the leading up to and after or something anyway so that's a
lot of what the investigate dot ingress comm is is a lot of codes right but it's
like limited code so you got really be in the communities where you're using
the tools to actually figure out what's going on and basically find these codes
and then you get some stuff or you can solve it way
too late and not get anything don't do that don't do that yeah you'll feel like
it just go to Circle K and buy something if you want that
hey old China China okay so as you know or may not know ingress is blocked in
China by the the Great Firewall I don't know what it's really called but you
know it's some sort of firewall whatever they have kind of a closed Internet
there they are able to censor everything that comes in and goes they kind of have
their own internet their walled garden if you will so in order to have ingress
and Pokemon go and all this kind of stuff over there it says Chinese law
demands that foreign firms find a partner in China to launch digital
ventures Niantic recently struck a partnership deal with net E's which is a
Chinese internet tech company and so they're gonna bring Pokemon go there
this year sometime in 2018 this is a an article that that details that but you
know they didn't say anything about ingress but I can only assume because
they owned all the I mean you know this is my aunt ik partnering with the
company not just for one deal for one game I wouldn't I would think but anyway
short story long well we might see ingress in China this year well and I
wonder if it'll be on the same data in network because I know there were
companies that did this in the past I believe like wow did it with World of
Warcraft mm-hm it's might do it there was another kind
yeah but they beat five cent something ten cent yeah yeah yeah that was the
company 50 said no that's a rapper but there were different servers and stuff
and they were like you know different version like they were back a few
- that's right smite did it because we were talking about it at there they're
like world events that they have which is going on this weekend for smite that
the the people playing in the event were actually back further than everyone else
like the meta and everything that happened in the game because they were
on a whole different flavor of the game and so I wonder if that would happen
with Pokemon go as well because I said that company would actually be releasing
it and I guess they have to go in and make sure certain things aren't there
like probably blood and and some other gore things that I think they have to
keep out of the other games okay so I don't know if it would work the same
with ingress because you need all that outside well I guess I could do it just
within China right yeah I mean their own servers you know if Nettie's is is
willing to have some sort of another back-end duplicate or something I don't
know how they do it but you know and right now I like there are already a ton
of portals in China obviously and I mean you can play there you have to be on a
VPN to bypass their their wall but it's their firewall but it's you know
probably not it's probably frowned upon or whatever I don't know I'm not telling
you go to China on a VPN but I'm just saying that's how people are saying
they're playing in China now so I mean you can do it but it might just be like
officially supported here sometime this year
and technically everyone there is probably you know violating the tos
probably right come on so we had to after dark
right somebody had to have like you know make these portals and stuff at some
point in China and I don't know some crazy yeah alright well thing speaking
of crazy how was your how was your week what's your sitrep oh yeah so it's been
a really cold as you know as everybody in America knows even Florida is cold
right now everything is cold and so I didn't I didn't get out a lot
but I did some car grass which you know I'm even if it's nice and warm weather
I'm probably gonna Karger as anyway but so we're gonna have to we went to oh
okay so on New Year's Eve I did most of my ingress ingress in
and I thought you know this bowling alley is not a portal so I went ahead
and submitted it it's a bowling alley in Madison Alabama and so because all the
other bowling alleys are portals I figured hey hey why not
what's that reward not found Oh more Circle K woes still broke yeah
and so after that we went to drove up to Ardmore Tennessee and collect what's
Ardmore so half of the city is in Alabama half of the city is in Tennessee
so it's one of those weird split cities right on the border
splitsville yeah about 30 minutes 40 minutes drive from me not too bad but I
went up there and do some there's some long ugly sliver links to a nearby city
that we're kind of gross and blocking but hey whatever I didn't sense it
anybody in the area was you know doing an OP or anything but I just wanted to
grab a bunch of uniques and stuff and while we're there the reason we went to
Ardmore was not for uniques it was to play the lottery so about once a year in
January we we like to play Powerball and Tennessee you know so we live in Alabama
and there's no lottery here so it's a short drive up there and it's just kind
of a kind of a ritual walking so we do every year is this go up there grab some
lottery tickets and then come home we have like 40 chances to win or something
so we just watch you know and see if we win and you know who knows well maybe we
should make a deal that if y'all win that you split it with me oh that's a
good deal right everybody makes it like lottery deals you go in and I take
it's together so when y'all win we'll just split it sound good awesome
all right I got I won $13 on the scratch-offs always liked the little
scratch offs they have you know where's my 650 yeah you have for the earnings
yeah well I spent it on beer that's right so so yeah I had a little light
ingressing this week how about you little bud light ingressing but like you
said it was cold and I don't know if you can see this picture but this was this
morning 9 degrees here which is wait that's weird if I do this ahh mask on
okay let's see with a mask on I was trying to figure out what that is a
picture of what's going on 2nd ninja mask so like you said like it was so
cold this morning we are pipes to our hot water in in my shower we're frozen
so I had to deal with that and then I was like well you know since I'm already
cold let's go ingress and try it all this warm clothes in gear after like 10
minutes I couldn't feel my legs or my hands even with the ingress gloves on
like my hands are like frozen but I still you know did a nice mile around
Bridge Street and did some portals so I'll be really sick again so I got sick
again actually talked about that last episode
yeah when voices all deep and like trailer voice on it yeah you love it
when that happens and so there was that and then I took my daughter with me she
wanted to go get some books with some of her Christmas money so we went down to
the bookstore which happens to be at a local outdoor mall was a ton of portals
so I took her around and played ingress a little bit and she she she had fun and
got some portals and she made a field and she's like 40k into third and third
levels so I need to go is it okay to go power level my daughter I'm gonna go
power level her and like cuz go get hunter k AP right you're almost over
death or something well get give her all these coats - did she already redeem all
ten of these coat eleven thousand because that's a lot of AP right there
yeah I mean jump from three to four I don't know I don't remember break it
what about 30,000 from no not thirty thousand about twelve thousand probably
ten yeah and thousand or so so being that
much closer so that's a good idea I get and I'll have to even though my son and
wife don't play much I have to get them to do it just it maybe they'll get them
a level like my goal is to get them all to eight so then we can drive around and
you make some family la four goals yeah man I still have some portals around
that are still I'm not I shouldn't even say this really but I still have some
Osbourne's around me that are still level eight from you know from weeks ago
from whenever the five year was and I'm just like wow like no one ever really I
don't know I'm not trying to call out the resistance in my town but these guys
this it's this town's real green it's been a real green for a long time I'm
just saying it needs to might come through here well it's real weird it's
like the downtown area I think really actually stays blue more but everything
else pretty much stays green right yeah that's of everything and so we all dip
in downtown to destroy the blue and turn it green it's like the the people who
seem to play on resistance I think work downtown a few of them maybe that's the
reason yeah so that's how it's blue and it's nice for us to go down and just go
boom boom boom and blow it up and we can kind of count on that to people who like
but everything else is just so is green I don't know I think it goes in ways
though cuz blue is really awesome in this town like they're really on it
usually right now they're just not but I don't know I guess a Thames and flows
yeah alright well holdy have an option wait I don't know what that came from
please come and destroy our city we have some contest updates update so
that form that you uh made last week yeah
and let everybody know so people are filling it out yes they are and we don't
have the link in this dock but we'll put it in the show notes again and just to
reiterate and it may be saying it for the first time I might know if we did
you only get one guess so if the date passes by it you don't get to guess
again so you don't just feel like tomorrow and then when it passes through
the next day like you get one guess and so there are some people who have
already lost they are absolute complete losers and they might have been getting

he's doing I guess kind of like the AMA collection which I assume those are kind
of done and till he gets back to work maybe next week yeah probably so so give

give us your idea so let's start off with brand olefin our phonemic make
finger guess this is on Twitter had an ideal for a few said recharge friendly
portals with X and PS o Cu Cu recharge a friendly portal with a
burst er so do you think it would be a whole new charging burster basically or
do you think when you do the burst or it would charge a friendly portal as it was
trying to destroy an enemy well okay so so it's almost kind of like I think we
had talked about this a while ago kind of in the same idea is like a lifesteal
mechanic in a game where a lifesteal would be I do damage to you while while
transferring your health to me so I'm basically damaging you and healing me at
the same time so if you have an exome feed that has life steal I guess you
probably wouldn't call it that obviously but imagine a burster that you blow up
in downtown crowded area with greens and blues and say you are a green so all of
your greens are being healed and all the Blues are getting hurt it's basically
just transferring the damage and to healing your own portals so I could see
something like that it would have to probably be maybe less powerful since
it's kind of doing two things and it's kind of specialized but that'd be cool I
don't see a reason why not because you know that would be really nice during an
anomaly when you want to recharge and kill at the same time you know I don't
know that's interesting it's a cool idea go get I dig it
I'm a bigger and I guess we have some more from reddit but we'll get to those
I guess after hours so I'm for this week is grouping a grouping mechanic in the
game and so you'd be able to grew up with people and you couldn't do anything
with them unless you were almost like interacting with a portal they would
have to be in that general range to do any of these things but you'd be able to
see them on your map then so you'd be like oh hey I'm over here by this part
I'd be like okay well I could see you and I can go over there or I can nab to
you or things like that you could trade with them but again you have to be local
so yeah like people wouldn't be selling stuff online and then jumping in a group
and trading it with you and then I maybe some other group bonuses like like they
have this thing in a lot of MMOs that the more people you're grouped up with
you get more percentage bonus of experience points so they if you're
grouped up with two three four people you get a little more AP and maybe more
than two people like three or more something like that because it's really
try to get a full group whatever that would be would maximize that because you
also don't want to get people to you don't want to promote the you know
backpack accounts to sit there multiple accounts just to get that bonus either
so some way to you know right yeah at the same time yeah that would introduce
some possible cheating or something but and then I liked it is that you can only
use if you're grouped because it takes both of y'all
oh yeah that's pretty good but I like that to kind of entice people to go out
in groups and give you a little benefit of rolling around town the pet you know
your car packed with the people and that's really cool yeah take that idea
and massage it a little and to kind of get get rid of like people cheating or
whatever could because I can see like some dude he's got like five tablets in
his seat in his car these is like quickly
yeah and that's one thing we get a lot with with a lot of the ideas as well you
can't do this because you know ex cheater is going to do X cheating thing
it's like well that's pretty much everything so just imagine all the ideas
we say with the the added addendum of and figure out a way to make cheaters
nothing cheaters not be able to use it to cheat with that's their so yeah what
about you agent so hope I think this game might be primed and ready for the
mechanic that probably 99% of app games have which is daily login rewards this
is one of the few games that just doesn't have that even a lot of desktop
games have this now you know it was a big time ago in Pokemon go that's truth
so they already have experience with this and I think it was a big trending
thing in 2016 I noticed a lot of game or 2015 maybe a lot of games just kind of
all of a sudden adopted this thing but ingress has never adopted it not to say
they probably won't with you know the new ingress prime which they just might
but I would just like to see it because I login every day anyway and probably
most people that are hardcore enough to like listen to this podcast of probably
daily login or login or login ease well and I think they would have to do it
kind of like they knew a Pokemon go like a daily hack because everybody like I'm
logged in 24/7 so how do you like do I have to down log out to log back in or
everything I see but you have to do a push alert or something like push every
day at noon I don't know well you bet yeah that's it yeah or something yeah
they do the daily hack which is fine but you know just logging in and on that
seventh day maybe it resets like usual or a month right it the the rewards get
greater and at the end it's like a really nice little package it didn't
even have to be as much as a promo code or a passcode but you know just a little
something every day I think would be kind of fun so I like
then get on that okay thanks what's that and then you'll have to delete more
stuff to get more stuff I know people can't cheat with that - okay thanks
okay so we have ideas from users this one's from reddit did you find this one
yep yeah this is from reddit by a swordmaster 21 and this is cool
so imagine he's really good with a sword by the way not me imagine a neutral
portal is suddenly infected with a virus that turns it red and creates a
kilometer diameter circle this is an infected portal and needs loads of
bursters to defeat and it's damaging other portals enlightened and resistance
portals are decaying at twice the rate while in the radius as time goes on that
the infected portal isn't cleared the radius will expand and possibly infect
other neutral portals until some sort of timer probably a timer is reached when
everything reverts to normal but the damage is done whoa so infected
portals infecting ones around it so if one over if another neutral gets
infected then it would then keep going and it would it would spread throughout
the city until it reaches a place where there's no portals Elson range so I
don't see these really going too far or really going too crazy because what are
the chances of a string of neutral portals and if they are just neutrals
then they're probably just neutrals around that anyway and it doesn't matter
if there's any damage being done by a virus but the virus has a shelf life I
guess or half-life with whatever got where it just dies after you know 12
hours or 24 hours or something like that so in but as it portals decay twice as
fast they've become neutrals and then get infected down content
three strange more take over the world yeah I said well stride it or no life
right yeah until it dies or until you blow it up because it's like in a in an
area that you care about you know and that you need it down so it's kind of a
raid where you have a group of friends come in and just tear this thing to
shreds so does the spread but I could see this kind of as an event like you
know an anomaly an XM anomaly is an event held by Niantic but this could be
some sort of an event held by Niantic where they plant and maybe in in five
big cities or something viruses and they just watch them spread I don't know it's
kind of cool it could it could amount to something
yeah no I think that would be a really cool nice and change right and everybody
could get involved somehow especially if it was like spreading so maybe you'd
have to inoculate your your local area and so it wouldn't infect your stuff and
and kind of make a wall of portals without the neutrals you'd be going and
getting rid of all the neutrals to try to almost like a fire line right trying
to build it up so it would have to stop and couldn't find neutrals and then you
screw on the neutral and that starts destroying everything around it and more
yeah yeah that would be pretty cool actually to drive out and hurry up and
collect these neutral it's like a wildfire you would see it grow and
you're like get these neutrals before it's spreads to Huntsville and you're on
the outskirts like yeah that's that be fun that'd be some crazy stuff I mean
that leads to a man I should save this for the next one because we're always
like I can't think of an idea this week but like it just leads to a whole bunch
of cool ideas of almost catastrophes and and things going crazy in ingress like I
think we maybe even talked about like an XM storm or like things like that that
happened just randomly and in areas and maybe different times of the year
they'll be more prone to happen in different areas yeah and just some just
stuff to where you don't know what's gonna happen today in ingress like
now it's pretty you kind of know what's gonna happen when you when you open up
either you know you're covered with the other factions color or you're not and
you need to deal with that and then it's kind of like links and that but if
they're at least like just events that were randomly happening it would just
make the get more interesting so mm-hmm awesome ideas yeah it's like Sim City
and Godzilla appears you're like no if you're right you know yes I wanted to
rebuild my city anyway that point where you just start like launching Godzilla's
everywhere island fires and tornadoes and hurricanes you start cheating it
just all goes downhill from there just remember that oh man we know oh I'm
speaking of cheating I I used my scraper that you gave me for Christmas this
morning because my my windshield was completely frosted over so I did a

when it's super cold so you don't have both your hands exposed okay well that's
a pro that's a pro tip right there for the pro thumb summers and keep the other

tallying says I review portals in Beijing so great for quantity however
quality is terrible and that's not usually a problem except when one star
portals are getting approved duplicates using the same pics are getting improved
now my situation is that my rating is dropped to poor the counter stopped
ticking but I can't review anymore because this drops my percentage lower
and all the portal agreement agreements made while poor don't count so now I'm
waiting until the backlog catches up and I can get a bit of a buffer to start
reviewing again the biggest issue is I have to start reviewing like the locals
and only one star for the truly terrible I think I'm missing part of that yeah I
will have to 5 star rocks and restaurants and keep off the grass signs
just to stay in game very disappointed this issue is costing around 250
agreements this and you know it is a thing like there's a there's a problem
when you let opinions dictate the game mechanics because there's people with
opinions and they're wrong right because opinions can be wrong and they'll go
this should not be a portal but if you look at the guy
and you read the guide it says no it should be a portal because of this or
vice versa and the people who are doing it correctly are getting screwed by the
people who are doing it incorrectly if more than you know if too many people
are doing it incorrectly right right but it could also be happening the other way
like he he could be getting all the portals wrong and the people who are
doing it right and he's exactly where he should be so I don't know I know I've
seen some portals in the OPR where I like you almost got a fight for it like
you just know that everybody's gonna think it's a one star but you're like
it's but it's really a four star maybe even a five star because of this and
this and this and it's just like but do I want my rating to suffer right yeah
it's like do you skip it or do you go with what you think it should be and
I've just been going with what I think it should be just like I'll see what my
rating does mm-hmm and you know right now I'm still in the middle how's it
going down hasn't going up yeah same here I believe also he he's reviewing
portals in China so somebody let us know in the comments or whatever the story
with ingress in China I assume you're using a VPN to play in
China but Chinese portals are okay as far as you know you're there being
reviewed and actively being submitted and things like that so I don't know
it's weird and confusing it's like is China doesn't want ingress but Niantic
is like well we're gonna kind of sneak in some portals anyway you know I mean
like you know you can do it or you can't I don't know what this in-between stuff
is but also we have another guy from China who
comments on our stuff regularly too so I know there's some China Chinese players
there so let us know some deets so and and I had an idea to for the OPR like in
let think about this and if people give their opinions incentive to us but what
do you think about like taking it away from this like opinioned five star one
star kind of thing to just a specific here's a checklist of questions are
there people in the image you know is this one of these items you know is it
one of these items can you safely get to it because I think there's just like
there's confusion into like what is what and then there's just flat up like
missing something like I don't a lot of times I forget to look if there's you
know people in it like there's not supposed to be people in the in the
image unless it's like one of these like places that is like a train depot right
someplace that's like basically it's gonna be people grandfathered in because
of what it is it's a big yeah and it's gonna be hard to get it without people
in there anyway right so if you just specifically had this checklist of each
thing hey you wouldn't miss like looking for it cuz it'd be like oh yeah there's
someone in this know blah blah blah blah and then they can have their logic sit
there and just go okay well if it's one of these it's supposed to be
grandfathered in but if it has this or that then it doesn't and it's like sure
have an option for like should this really not be a portal or should it
really be a portal kind of thing maybe the star 1 star 5 star rating at the end
but you know they only take it into account if it needs to be kind of thing
and then that's when they look at it and like read the comments to figure out
what's going on with those special cases and I think things would get approved a
lot faster and and you wouldn't have to worry about people's opinions so anyway
right III agree with all that I don't know why they chose the path of training
and then having someone have to memorize all the stuff so they literally put us
through training with a video and a questionnaire and a
quiz but how about instead you just go to the page and you're presented with
all the the data as if you're you've never done this before and if if some1
for the first time can be a hundred percent accurate each time that means
the that means the questions are are fine-tuned and to perfection right now
you're leaving it to too much human error and memory and and emotion even
sometimes so just think like a robot like a robot came to this site and and
clicked buttons and asked we're answering the questions logically would
they pass it yes so you know I think it's it's it's too human right you know
well and even better like throw this when you submit a portal have it go
thanks for submitting the portal we're gonna email you a basically a survey for
this portal if you take the survey the porter will get activated much quicker
so you don't have to take it but if you do you go there and it basically goes
through the OPR and asked is it this is it that and you basically are the first
person to you know basically OPR it and I know you're not in the right level yet
you're not twelve possibly you might be only eleven but at least then you go oh
well no I I now I know why this shouldn't be a portal and it should tell
you like when you're filling out oh well this shouldn't be a portal because of
this and it should tell the people in the OPR the same thing because I think
there's some education that needs to be done on the back end and it can be done
computerized like it doesn't take a bunch of like you know live people I go
on a yacht yeah I need to talk to you about this so PR portal submission it
should just be a computer Tony well this is why you're wrong and yeah and then
they would have so many fewer bad submissions even getting in there in the
first place that then everything would just happen so much quicker and people
would know what they're supposed to submit because like before as an OPR
like I hadn't looked at the stuff and you kind of get an idea of what things
are but then there's some stuff you're like oh no no okay I get I get it now
why this shouldn't be here should be a portal
mmm-hmm that well that's like a whole episode itself well yeah that's good
because I don't think we really ever mentioned that before in a previous
episode okay well good good good good so let's redesign the OPR hit her face

directly transfer items ever in ingress due to how quickly the item sellers for
cash would owe the item sellers for cash would abuse it looking locking a capsule
with the intended agent name would be a good idea though okay so this is
referring to our previous episode when we talked about you know just being able
to trade freely yeah I mean you know that's one of those things that's like
exploits you know the the farmers or whatever you call it the gold farmers
whatever item sellers spammers well yeah I mean think about it that would
actually catch them much faster right because they'd be sitting there with
these these private capitals shipping off a bunch of crap and it would be that
sent into that same account sitting into a bunch of random people all over the
world and they would be able to go uh we see what you're doing dude
it's a honeypot yeah it's basically a honeypot first though so it may actually
work in the paper but also they have to hand them off somehow would might be
able to fix that as well yeah but I still like the locking capsule with the
name because that's literally the your account can only unlock it that's that's

is the more people hear that the more less likely they'll do it the more you
know it just becomes kind of taboo to do and so at least they it'll won't be as
widespread right is people kind of shut the doors on it and and and just don't
do it yourself have that or or ass kicked
timestamps would be useful on topics you mentioned sometimes I find myself
surfing the web and thus listening with one ear so I guess each topic that we
put in the description find it in the show and put a timestamp in the
description to it I mean you can do that on YouTube definitely and if the time
was there you could fast-forward a podcast to it honestly I don't know if
we it's a kind of a time issue I think coming out with that if someone comes up
with the times we'll be glad to put them in there yeah source it people write
that in in notes and in comments in YouTube I will be yeah copy and paste we
used to do that long ago with our minecraft podcast the shaft and it was
very time-consuming because we had to literally scan our own file and find
when each segment was but we would put timestamps for each segment each you
know a segment of the show so you could just do right to it but yeah we're
talking a lot of time and then we could start allotting times two segments and
just keep a rigid clock to like up nope we got to move on and then it would be
the same every week that's true I wouldn't be used to that so much if we
had no specific segments but then there's some times when like you want to
talk long like we are today or talk shorter because there wasn't an AMA or
you know things like that so then you'd have to and you'd forget and you'd make
someone mad because you forgot not you but you but yeah well well think about
this in the future though we're not just you know forgetting about it but this is
it's a great idea I'd love to have that in every show I I agree yeah if it's
recording the times as we record the episodes into the dock or something you
know some way of automating it I think is key here and so we don't have to hand
do it every time so alright and then lastly on the Twitter's la7 three to

all that sort of stuff so send those to us as well all the same ways is you send
everything else I mean comments or Twitter's or speak pipes would be great
too we can play those specific questions working on the show yeah and we'll say

I mean don't ask that obviously but you know and we'll say okay Andrew and we'll
ask him a question this comes from you know swordmaster and then we'll ask the

lot of times we're just spitting out the YouTube names or the Twitter names and
it may not be the same as your agent name so if you ever want us to use your
agent name instead of those just throw it in the comment you can do it in
parenthesis agent whatever and we'll know to use that instead of your other
