It's Cappy Time! Why Mario Needs Cappy in Super Smash Bros. Switch (Moveset Speculation) - Duration: 7:32.Super Smash Bros. Switch is getting closer and closer and even though we know next to
nothing about it, it's already clear there are some changes on the way.
Inkling's joining the cast and Link's getting a Breath of the Wild makeover that
could completely change the way he plays.
And while we've already made moveset speculation videos for both of them, there is a 3rd character
featured prominently in the reveal trailer that we haven't touched on yet: The Plumber
boy himself, Mario--and we can't help but wonder if he might be due for some changes
too.
Especially because while Link has kept up with the times in most of the Smash games,
with new looks and updated moves to match his more recent appearance, Mario has remained
relatively static, adding only the cape in Melee and Fludd in Brawl.
And we think now's the perfect time to Switch him up a bit more.
Because let's face it.
Mario's old hat.
So let's give him a new one: Cappy!
After all, with Link being updated to his most recent appearance, wouldn't it make
sense for Mario to be too--bouncy nose physics and all?
And while the Smash Bros. trailer didn't technically tease anything of the sort--it
didn't exactly not tease it either.
Mario appears only in silhouette so who knows what it's hiding--and while there's no
sign of Cappy per se, there wouldn't need to be since Cappy's eyes are often hidden
anyway, so there's absolutely a chance he could be revealed later.
But the main question is--how the hell would he work?
Cappy is all about possessing other creatures and giving Mario full control of their faculties--and
that very well could break Smash Bros. almost as much as Meta Knight.
But I think we have we have a perfect solution.
Because every character in Smash Bros already has a move that essentially imobilies--or
takes control--of their opponent.
Yep, Cappy should be Mario's grab!
Simply tap the Grab Button to throw Cappy at a distance similar to Link's hookshot,
and if it hits anyone along the way, Mario would instantly be sucked into their body,
immobilizing the opponent.
But how does Mario attack someone during a grab if he's inside them?
Simple--he makes them them punch themselves!
Which is really going to suck for Captain Falcon
And once you're ready to actually throw the opponent, just press a direction on the
control stick like usual to have Mario punch them in that direction as he exits their body.
Otherwise, the usual Grab rules apply--with captured players able to fight Mario's grasp
by hammering on the buttons and control stick to eventually force him out.
Also, even though Mario isn't technically on the battlefield, if a captured player gets
attacked, it would break the possession--forcefully Mario out of the body as he takes damage
But what if Mario uses Cappy mid-air?
Well, since you can't grab someone in the air, it would instead work as an attack, just
like Link's Hookshot or Samus's grapple beam.
However, because Mario isn't holding onto it, it wouldn't be able to tether to a ledge--BUT
it's for that exact reason it could still assist with Mario's recovery, by allowing
Mario to bounce off of Cappy for additional distance, just like in Super Mario Odyssey.
Adding Cappy as Mario's grab is the perfect way to freshen up Mario.
It pays tribute to Super Mario Odyssey with a potentially game-breaking character--without
actually breaking the game.
Plus, don't you really want to see what Bayonetta would look like with a stache?
Okay, so we've freshened up Mario's grab, but what about the rest of his moves?
Well, with how much Cappy already changes the game--we think Mario can slide by with
minimal changes otherwise, with the rest of his moves can largely remain the same.
Sure, even though Mario's basic attacks haven't ever been used in a mainline game
since Super Mario 64--the punches and kicks really are a perfect fit for Super Smash Bros--especially
since they are a tribute to Mario's 3D debut.
But what about his specials?
Well, the neutral Special, the Fireball is iconic, useful, and perpetually relevant,
so that can stay.
Mario's Side Special, the cape, however, is feeling a little more dated--it hasn't
even reappeared in a mainline Mario game since its 1991 debut, unless you count Super Mario
Maker--okay, and technically the e-Reader levels in Super Mario Advance 4.
And no, Yoshi's Island isn't a mainline Mario game dammit!
Granted, there's nothing inherently wrong with that--it's fun when a move references
a character's ancient history--but in this case, the been paying tribute to an outdated
ability for nearly 20 years across three quarters of the Smash Bros. franchise and it could
probably stand to be swapped out for something that's a little more relevant--while retaining
the same basic function.
Yep, we're talking about the Raccoon suit?
Sure, there was once a time where it was neglected just as much as the Cape, but it's had a
major comeback in recent years, having reappeared in Super Mario 3D Land AND New Super Mario
Bros. 2.
And it could serve the same fundamental purpose as the cape, allowing Mario to deflect attacks
with a swing of his tail.
Plus Raccoon Mario is way cuter than a boring cape anyway.
And yes, I realize the Super Leaf item already exists in Smash Bros 4, but that item technically
works entirely differently--and for all we know, might not be back in the Switch version.
Of course, my same "outdated" complaint could apply to Mario's Down Special: Fludd.
But regardless of my personal feelings on Fludd, it is a generation newer to Smash and
also serves a unique purpose that, for better or worse, I have nothing better to replace
it with--plus Super Mario Sunshine probably deserves a nod of some kind, even if it is
in the form of an annoying talking Super Soaker.
And that brings us to Mario's final Special: his
Recovery: the Super Jump Punch--and hey, this one's totally fine too.
I mean, jumping is sort of Mario's thing and the Super Jump Punch is iconic at this
point--buuuut it's also remained entirely unchanged from the begining in Smash Bros
64--and since it's practically identical to both Luigi's AND Dr. Mario's own Super
Jump Punches--it doesn't quite stand out these days.
Mario deserves something better.
And one way to freshen it would be by referencing a more modern equivalent: the spin jump from
Super Mario Galaxy--which would give you an aerial boost while damaging anyone who gets
hit by it.
Oh, and you'd better believe that Baby Luma would still pop out from underneath Mario's
Cap.
Come on, Cappy PLUS Baby Luma--it can't get much better than that!
Or can it?
Because, what about Mario's Final Smash?
I always thought a massive fireball felt a little--uninspired--especially for Smash Bros's
most well-known character . So let's bring it back to what inspired this video in the
first place: Cappy.
And what's the biggest thing he could possess in Super Mario Odyssey?
"A T-Rex?
You Have a t-rex" Heck yeah Mario should be able to run around
as a T-Rex!
Not only would it be a ton of fun, but it really would tie his entire moveset together
in a way that makes Mario more modern and relevant than he's ever been before in Super
Smash Bros.
And beyond just moves, Odyssey's vast array of costumes are perfect fodder for Mario's
alts in Smash Bros--plus Naked Shulk vs Naked Link vs Naked Mario absolutely needs to happen.
And there you have it--our ideas for how Mario's moveset could be updated in Super Smash Bros.
Switch?

BREAKING: $1.8 BIL Of Soros' Money Just Intercepted, He Could Officially Go To Prison For Years - Duration: 5:40.BREAKING: $1.8 BIL Of Soros' Money Just Intercepted, He Could Officially Go To Prison
For Years.
George Soros is at it again throwing his money around and trying to manipulate political
races.
This time he's trying to reshape the nation's criminal justice system.
Soros thinks he can do this by dumping $1.8 billion into four of the 56 district, attorney
positions in California up for grabs June 5th.
This is the same kind of tactic he used to grab control of attorney generals in varying
states.
Soros isn't the only one either.
Wealthy progressive liberal donors are also pouring millions of dollars into these races.
Liberal groups are offering their support to would-be prosecutors who favor lower incarceration
rates, crackdowns on police misconduct and changes in a bail system that they argue discriminates
against the poor, the Los Angeles Times reported.
"These people who want to create their own social policy are not worthy of the office,"
former Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley told the newspaper.
"If they win in San Diego or Sacramento, L.A. is next."
You mean the city where the Mexican mafia runs the prisons?
That city?
Soros headlines a consortium of private funders, the American Civil Liberties Union and other
social justice groups and Democratic activists who are willing to put their money where their
Marxism is.
Take for instance San Diego County.
A deputy public defender is being financially backed after doing all he could to keep the
accused out of jail.
In Sacramento and Alameda counties, candidates are challenging the incumbents.
In Contra Costa County, a district attorney earned the support of the consortium of wealthy
donors and liberal groups.
Marxists are literally lining up with their checkbooks to get a piece of the DA's office.
Five more candidates in Marin, Riverside, San Bernardino, Stanislaus and Yolo counties
are also getting donations.
They are much smaller ones though, but still from liberal donors.
Noah Phillips, who's running in Sacramento County, attacked his boss, who is also his
opponent.
He says that he failed to ever charge a police officer who shot a civilian.
Here's the kicker, he flatly admits that Soros' team scripted and paid for his ad
on television, while his fundraising efforts were assisted by Cari Tuna, senior adviser
to Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign.
Socialists of the world unite!
Fox News said this about Soros in California:
"Soros reportedly spent over $1.5 million on a political action committee to prop up
the San Diego County candidacy of Geneviéve Jones-Wright, who attacked policies "criminalizing
poverty" and pledged to form a police misconduct unity.
"In total, Soros' spending reached nearly $3 million this week on races for district
attorney positions.
Such large cash infusions and support for liberal groups are crucial for contenders
as most elections are limited by the $800 individual contribution limit, leaving most
campaigns scrambling for cash and relying on unpaid volunteers."
"The flows of money remain unclear as federal laws allow nonprofit advocacy groups hide
the source of their funding and are required to provide only a summary of their spending."
"Jones-Wright's opponent, career prosecutor Summer Stephan, has yet to match the money
donors spent against her campaign.
Her $1.1 million support came mostly from police unions and other prosecutors, the Times
reported."
"Stephan slammed Soros' backing for her opponent, declaring it a public safety threat.
But Jones-Wright dismissed the alarmist tone, saying the funding merely gives voice to minorities
and poor people who are left behind in prosecutor races."
"I love it!" she said at a recent fundraiser, according to the Times.
"If he didn't take an interest in this campaign, it would be an even more uneven
playing field."
Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O'Malley is up for re-election this time around.
She was shocked to find out that she was on Soros' hit list to be ousted.
Especially since she's a registered Democrat and has earned endorsements from U.S. Sen.
Kamala Harris, D-CA and other organized labor and Democratic groups.
For some reason, she's being savaged by the left in California.
The Soros PAC is accusing her of implementing "racist" stop-and-frisk policies.
Her opponent, civil rights lawyer Pamela Price, promises to end such policies and blasted
O'Malley for being supported by law enforcement groups.
Cops are the bad guys in the world of Soros.
Wealthy progressive donors are also backing Diana Becton in Contra Costa County.
She was appointed district attorney of the county after her predecessor was forced to
resign amid a political corruption scandal.
Her challenger, a veteran prosecutor, slammed the support from the wealthy, saying "billionaires
who apparently think Contra Costa's public safety is for sale."
That about sums it up, don't you think?
As the Los Angeles Times pointed out, in most district attorney elections, the campaign
playbook is clear: Win over the local cops and talk tough on crime.
But in California this year, the strategy is being turned on its head.
Support the police and they want you gone.
It's a direct slap at President Trump and the rule of law and George Soros is in the
thick of it.
What do you think about this?
