- I cannot believe we are here.
- Girl,
- [Both] The finale!
- Of season 10 of RuPaul's Drag Race.
- Yes, girl, we did it!
- I never in a million years, no, I did kinda think.
- Did you think, because I didn't think.
- I had an idea.
You thought too.
(laughs)
but how great is it to be here?
This is so cool.
- The theater's beautiful
and everybody's coming back together.
It's however many months later.
It's ridiculous.
- Los Angeles feels like home now.
- I know, it's like we never leave.
- Even though I'm still in Dallas.
You're still in Tennessee, right?
- I'm still a Tennessee girl.
- So yeah, but it's cool.
It's cool to be here.
It's so interesting 'cause my life has
in a sense kinda changed so much,
and in a sense it's still exactly the same.
I feel like I'm doing the same thing,
presenting the same art.
It's just on so much more of a grand scale,
and so many more people see it and have an opinion about it.
- Right.
- One day I'm like oh my god, my life is so different now,
and then one day it's like it's kinda the exact same thing.
It's just the audience is bigger.
- Exactly, everyone's watching you now.
I don't know mine is completely different,
because as you know I was a hair stylist before this.
I was not a full-time drag queen,
and now I'm traveling all over the world,
and I'm learning to live on four hours of sleep.
- Right?
- It's amazing.
I couldn't ask for anything better.
The fans are amazing.
I'm having such a good time and even though
it's a complete life career change for me,
I'm having a blast.
- So are you no longer doing hair at al?
- No, I don't have time.
I'm never home. - Oh, wow!
- I'm home for like 24 hours and then I'm back on the road,
so it's kind of ridiculous
and it's a whole new life for me,
but I'm having so much fun.
- Yeah, it's good.
You deserved it.
- Thank you.
- So did you see me as competition before today?
- Girl, I knew who you were
before we ever entered the workroom,
so I knew that you were a pageant girl.
I know that you've done this professionally for years.
I know that you're on your A-game at all times,
but definitely watching your drag progress through the show,
and especially when you walked out in the hat
and the gowns and the level of your drag,
I knew that you were competition.
I don't know if it ever made it into a confessional,
but I said from day one, day two,
that you were gonna be my competition the whole time.
Absolutely, because of the level of drag
that you brought to the competition.
- Thank you.
And I kinda felt the same way with you
about just how serious you were,
and some people read being serious
as not having fun with it,
but how serious you were with your craft,
I knew from day one.
- And I think that's the difference between you and I.
Both you and I are very professional
and very serious about the competition,
and you remembered to open up and be funny and I forgot.
(both laugh)
I feel like that's what happened.
Yeah, for sure.
- So what does it mean to you
to be here in this moment, in the top four?
- Well I think a lot of people, including myself,
didn't see me here and that is a learning experience for me.
I don't think that I had a lot of confidence going
into the competition or during the competition,
and I found it, and I think it means to me
that I'm a voice for everyone that's ever struggled
with self-confidence and struggled
with not thinking they're enough,
and I think that's something that people
can connect to me about is self-doubt,
and that just have a little confidence in yourself,
and know that you are enough,
and I'm a voice for the introverted extroverts in life,
and that's really important to me
that my personality speaks to a lot of people
that even though you're introverted and you are shy,
we can sit in the spotlight and have our moment,
and I think that's why I'm here.
- Yes, absolutely, but I found my sound.
That's my favorite thing you ever said.
- Exactly, I found my sound, yeah.
- Yes.
- So out of all 14 girls,
who do you think surprised you?
Who turned out different than you expected?
- I would probably say Monet X Change.
She was the one, among others,
but she was the main one that I remember
having distinct moments in the competition
where I would just look and be like okay,
I missed the mark with my perception of this.
I remember in Snatch Game,
looking down at her as Maya Angelou
and being like oh my gosh, is she serious?
I remember her in rehearsals singing
her part for the Cher Rusical,
and I was like is she serious?
And so I love those pleasant surprises,
because she really did surprise me with her level of talent.
Was there anybody for you in the competition
that turned out to be completely different
than what you thought at first?
- I would have to say that Aquaria really surprised me.
A lot of people have a perception of Aquaria that's wrong,
and I think in a sense Aquaria
and I are both a little misunderstood.
I'm a little quiet and I don't show enough personality,
and people think things about me that may be untrue,
and I think that's the same thing with Aquaria,
and she's actually really fun.
She's really funny.
- Absolutely.
- She won Snatch Game, girl.
(Asia laughs)
Would we ever peg Aquaria
to win Snatch Game? - No, I was like wait, what?
- [Kameron] What?
- [Asia] Exactly.
- So I think she all surprised us
with the level of personality that she brought,
and I think her and I are both a little misunderstood,
but that's what I love about Aquaria
is that once you get to know her she's an amazing person.
- Absoultely.
Girl.
- Keep countin', girl, keep countin.
How does it feel to have
to lip sync three times and survive?
- [Kameron] The surviving part feels great.
- [Asia] Great, what about in the moment?
- In the moment it sucks.
It's not a fun thing.
It's not a fun experience.
Now, did I say I was ready?
Yes, I'm a performer.
That's what I love to do.
The thing that was hard for me is the thought of
at the end I don't want to see anybody go,
and I think people misunderstood me
not wanting my sisters to go home
as me not wanting to be in the competition.
And no, I just feel bad.
I don't wanna see any of my sisters go home,
and then for me to be partly responsible
for that, it did suck, and it's not a good feeling,
but at the end of the day it's a competition.
So I mean, we have to do what we have to do to stay.
So now that we are bidding adieu to RuPaul's Drag Race,
season 11 will be Asia O'Hara's Drag Race.
- Yes.
- [Kameron] Because you had
physical contact from RuPaul, girl.
She hit you in the face.
- [Asia] Girl, she did.
You know, we've been in litigation for a long time,
and I have decided to let Ru keep her show.
I'm just gonna do a spin-off.
- [Kameron] Gotcha.
- [Asia] I'm just gonna be on The Animal Planet.
- [Kameron] Oh yeah?
- [Asia] But yeah, she assaulted me.
- [Kameron] I was there, I heard it.
- [Asia] I let her know that that is not okay,
and so our lawyers have been at it for a while.
I was gonna take World of Wonder but I decided not to.
- Just a little piece of the pie, not the whole pie.
- Just a little piece,
so I'm gonna let her keep her little show,
(Kameron laughs)
her competition, and mine will be on Animal Planet,
and we already won an Emmy just for existing.
- Oh, congratulations.
- Thank you very much.
You can come on as a guest judge.
- [Kameron] I would love to.
- You could come in and be the workout trainer
for the girls. - I would love that!
We'll run sprints with the cheetahs.
- Yes, and I'll drive by in my limo drinking a Fanta.
- Perfect.
- Done, you're hired.
(Kameron laughs)
Girl, well I am happy to be sharing
this experience with you.
We're here, top four, and we're gonna rock it out.
I know we are.
I'm so excited to see what you're gonna do.
You, again, are not fooling me.
You're not tricking me.
I know you're a ninja.
If you come out the ceiling in a helicopter,
I'm calling shade.
(Kameron laughs)
But you know, I'm so happy to be here
and win, lose, or draw, whatever happens,
I feel like we're all winners
because we have made it this far,
and prevailing in drag is a win.
So I'm so excited.
- I love you.
I am very excited to be here with you.
You were definitely the mother of the season,
and I think you are partly responsible
for bring me out of my shell, so thank you.
- You're welcome!
- I love you and I feel like all four
of us have such diverse drag
that we all represent a large chunk of the drag community,
and I think that's really important
that we all are bringing something to the finale,
and I'm excited to see what we do when we show the world.
- Perfect, okay.
I gotta go.
I gotta slash Aquaria's tires.
- Okay girl, well good luck.
Have fun. - You're welcome.
- Sabotage.
(upbeat music)
