Mitch McConnell Stalls Opioid Legislation To Hurt Democrats In Midterms - Duration: 3:34.At this point, you would be very hard-pressed to find a single person in this country who
would say that we do not have a problem with prescription opioid medications and the deaths
that are resulting from the over-prescribing of these opioid medications.
So, it makes you wonder, right, why we're not seeing any action whatsoever from Congress.
I mean, the House of Representatives a while back actually passed a measure to help the
opioid crisis.
They've just been waiting for weeks or months at this point for the Senate to do the same
thing, so that they can get a bill to the President of the United States.
Well, according to a recent report by the Washington Post, the consensus among health
experts here in the United States is that the reason the Senate has not put forth legislation
to address the opioid crisis is because Mitch McConnell doesn't want to, at least not yet.
You see, the general belief among reporters and experts and industry officials who have
dealings with the Senate is that Mitch McConnell is intentionally delaying and stalling any
Senate efforts to address the opioid crisis in the United States until after the midterm
elections.
Why?
Because he is afraid that if they do it now or if they do it before the midterms, it's
going to allow vulnerable Democratic senators to go back to their constituents with a win,
particularly the people he's afraid of getting a win to are Claire McCaskill from Missouri,
Joe Manchin of West Virginia, and Joe Donnelly in Indiana, and here's the thing about all
of those Democrats.
Not only are they very moderate Democrats, they also happen to reside in states that
have been hardest hit from the opioid crisis, especially Joe Manchin, the corporate Democrat
from the opioid-riddled West Virginia.
If he were to go back with a victory and say, "Look what I've done to my state, for my state,"
same thing with Claire McCaskill or Joe Donnelly, it would increase their chances of reelection
this year, thereby ending Republican hopes of getting a stronger majority in the Senate.
Mitch McConnell is playing with people's lives.
I think the latest number is about 170 people every day are dying from opioid overdoses
here in the United States, 170 people every single day.
So, every day that Mitch McConnell delays this legislation, another 170 people die Sunday
through Saturday.
It doesn't even take a break for holidays.
People are dying, and Mitch McConnell would rather play politics with it than do something
about the problem regardless of how it affects the 2018 midterms.
Some issues, McConnell, you need to understand this, are bigger than politics, and if you're
the kind of human being that wants to play with people's lives because you think it's
going to benefit your career personally, then you're the kind of human being that doesn't
deserve to be serving the American public because you've forgotten what that means.
170 people every single day, upwards of 42,000 people per year dying, and Mitch McConnell's
okay with that as long as it helps Republican keep a majority in the Senate.
I want everyone to remember that when they head to the polls this coming November.

Menudo Recipe (Filipino Food) - Duration: 3:27.Hey guys, today we're gonna show you how to cook Filipino menudo, not to be mistaken with Mexican menudo.
Unlike the Mexican soup, our menudo consists of pork that's cooked in a vinegar and tomato sauce stew.
To make our Filipino menudo
there are two parts. For the first part, start by taking two pounds of pork butt and cutting it into bite-size strips,
roughly one and a half to two inches long and half an inch wide.
When you're done slide your meat into a pan and
then add half a large diced onion,
2 cloves of minced garlic,
1/3 of a red bell pepper, 2 teaspoons of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
Afterwards mix everything together to evenly disperse all of the ingredients into the meat.
Next pour in 1/4 of a cup of vinegar. For our recipe we used the Datu Puti brand, which is a cane vinegar.
Then pour in half a cup of water.
Place a lid over your pan and bring everything to a soft boil.
Also, make sure not to mix the ingredients before it reaches a soft boil. Otherwise the dish might have a strong taste of vinegar.
Once at a soft boil set your stove to medium low heat and simmer everything for 30 to 40 minutes.
When it's done go ahead and zhoosh it up a bit and
set it aside. For
the second part of this recipe, in a new pan, pour in 2 to 3 tablespoons of oil over medium heat.
Then throw in half a large diced onion and
saute it until it becomes translucent.
Next add in 2 cloves of minced garlic and continue to saute everything until the garlic is fragrant.
Afterwards drop in 2 teaspoons of annatto powder and
dissolve it in the oil.
Then add 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce and mix it in as well.
Now take your saute and pour it into your previous pan and
lightly mix everything together.
Then throw in three peeled and sliced red potatoes, or as we like to call them, baby patats.
Submerge the potatoes as best you can.
Then add two sliced hot dogs.
We used the filipino red hot dogs with the cheese in the middle, but you can use any regular hot dog.
Simmer everything uncovered for about 15 to 20 minutes so that the stew thickens.
Afterwards fork your potatoes to check if they're cooked.
Once they're cooked, add half a cup of peas and
the other two-thirds of your red bell pepper from earlier.
Give everything a good stir.
Typically raisins are added to bring sweetness to this dish, but I'm a raisin hater, so we're sweetening it with sugar instead.
So now sprinkle in one teaspoon of sugar, but you can add more if you want.
Finally just stir everything together and you now have yourself a yummy menudo!
It's talagang tasty!
What's up guys?

Santa Rosa Home Survives Devastating Fire Storm. Surrounded by ashes, life endures - Duration: 4:17.(dramatic music)
The Byers family guarantee is
doing the right thing for a client.
Home is where the heart is and it's where we can
all feel safe.
We had known that there was a large catastrophe that
happened in the Santa Rosa Sonoma area with all the fires.
Knowing that we had some of our clients affected from that,
and I really wanted to get out there first hand
to see what that damage looked like.
(dramatic music)
The home is a home, its like, you know, where you come
after a day's work or after a vacation,
you're coming home and you can't wait to get there.
It is paradise.
You know after living here a while, it's just a wonderful
place and I wouldn't wanna live anywhere else.
I'm the last of my generation and my family, so I have,
you know, I have accumulated everybody else's memorabilia.
I've got boxes of pictures from probably 1880,
oh man, through the present time from relatives.
The night of the fire, maybe 8:30 or so, I stepped out the
door and there's about a 40 mile an hour wind or so,
and there was a lot of smoke in the air.
Went back in the home and turned on the news.
There was a fire in Calistoga, which is about 20 miles away.
I think we're just getting smoke.
I wasn't really worried about the fire.
So around two o'clock in the morning, was woken by a flash
of lights.
And I got up, looked out the window and the building next
door to me was on fire.
I pretty much panicked at that time,
But I believe anything else, this happened so quickly.
I woke my wife up, told her we had to get out of the house
right now, let's go.
So we had any thought of taking anything from that house.
We just, my thought was just get out
as quickly as possible.
There were fires on both sides of the street
as we were driving out, pretty scary.
Embers were coming down like snow.
The smoke was so thick you could hardly breathe.
The fire wiped out most of my neighborhood,
over 5000 houses were destroyed during the fire.
It was a really horrible incident.
Driving up through all the devastation,
I got probably two or three blocks from here
and I could see the house through the trees
and I almost cried when I saw it.
I couldn't believe it.
It was still standing.
I never thought about my belongings ever.
I never thought about that.
Just the home was still there.
It was unbelievable and a very emotional experience
seeing all that devastation and then seeing
my home still standing.
Of course we were still alive, and that was paramount
in my mind.
It wasn't until two or three days later
when I started to think why did my house survive
when all these others burned.
I started thinking about the stucco and the roof
and then other people that I met had been talking
about how their house burned because of leaves
in the gutter catching fire.
And it's a fact, I just don't think the house
would have survived if we hadn't had the leaf guard system.
This is why we do what we do, helping
to save the home and preserving those memories.
So thank you.
Thank you, thank you very much.

2018 Cyclone Scholar Summer Research Experience - service learning - Duration: 2:31.*background music*
Well service learning was incorporated into the Cyclone Scholar program in
order to expose the students not only to our objectives of, you know, food safety, food
security and the childhood obesity aspect, but to also to give them an
opportunity to you know be involved in the community and see on that side of
things to really have that interdisciplinary approach to the
program. So not only are we wanting them to get the experience on the research
side of things, but coming up as the next generation of researchers, we want them
to see, all the way from the farm to the table, how they can make an impact in
this field.
*background music*
We helped a local farmer sort of weed some of his pepper plants and then plant
them in spots, plant others in spots where they were devoid of pepper
plants. It felt good to help out, especially with such a big field, and
kind of as he took us along, it made me realize how big his field was because
I've never been on a farm, even though I like gardening and things like that, but
that's very small-scale compared to that.
*background music*
I worked the Bingo station. It was
actually nutrition Bingo, though, so the tiles had different like vegetables or like
fruits on them and then what we read were just like facts about it.
And it was just, for me, personally, I felt like I learned a lot doing that. And
also it was very fun interacting with the high school kids being able to talk
about the foods on there.
*background music*
I think it's important to take part in these
service learning projects because this is how we reach out to the community. I
never knew that I could go into food science or go into nutrition until I
was already in high school when people are looking at colleges and already kind
of have their track for life planned out, or at least an idea of it. So I think
it's cool from that point of view, and also because it allows us to give back
and have influence over the next generation and the people who, who could
do amazing things in their future.

Every America's Got Talent 2018 Audition Reviewed In 10 Words Or Less! - Duration: 7:03.Hey ladies and jellyfish, wumbos of all sizes, welcome back to A.S.K.
Air's videos!
Today I am taking a look at every single 2018 America's Got Talent audition, and reviewing
them all in 10 words or less.
If you haven't seen the show on my channel where I do the same but with SpongeBob episodes,
check those out.
If you don't know my system, I will rate every audition done this year in season 13
great, good, meh, bad or boo.
I will also give them a short review in 10 words or less.
By the way, I guess you could call this a yearly tradition, as last year I actually
fully reviewed every audition to make an hour-long video.
But, with this being a sparking growth on my channel, me loving this show, and this
being a fun way to express my thoughts without spending countless days working on an hour-long
video that will get 12 views, let's get into it.
By the way, check that video out too, I doubt it's better than this one, but I hope you
like both.
I also uploaded a video on why I personally think the AGT Judge Cuts are pointless, so
check that out as well!
Hopefully it's in the card above if I'm not lazy.
I'm also not talking about those filler acts that were 20 seconds long or acts that

Angel Garcia Great
He has quite the future ahead of him.
Oscar and Pam Bad
My old neighborhood dog did the same, big deal.
Makayla Phillips Meh
Heidi is so so so so so so naive.
Now, before we get into the stats, let's do a quick top and bottom 5.
Due to the time restraint in the making of this video, I won't go into much detail
like in my SpongeBob videos.
Anyway, let's do a top and bottom 5, revealing the season 13 Golden and Rotten Auditions.
The top 5 will also exclude the Golden Buzzers.
So let's get into it.
#5 Best: Mochi A hilarious man with a talent as huge as his
personality.
I know personally for a fact that Diabolo isn't something to be scoffed at, and this
man is truly talented when he can do it that well.
He is also a great guy who finally got his break.
#5 Worst: Oscar and Pam This act is so boring.
I swear I used to live somewhere where when I played piano, a dog across the street would
howl like this.
I hate how dogs are treated on these shows, and get an automatic pass most of the time.
It was also really boring and made me want to sleep.
#4 Best: Shin Lim Shin Lim is quite the act.
He is one of the only magicians on these shows where I really can't find how he did it,
me being the amateur card-shuffler noob I am.
His personality is also the final cherry on top.
#4 Worst: Annaliese Nock Oh boy, this is like the gift that keeps on
giving.
We had Bello Nock on last year, and now his stupid daughter decides to just blow herself
up.
Not only is there no pressure as she obviously won't die on TV, there's no twist to it
and it seems kind of phony and boring.
#3 Best: Daniel Emmet Man, whatever judge is stupid enough to not
give this guy their Golden Buzzer and give Makayla Phillips the Golden Buzzer instead,
must be a fricking supermodel.
Oh wait...
#3 Worst: Lilly Walker I hated this act from the minute it started.
To think others with actual talent have to have stress about not going through, and then
this stupid act comes on and it goes through, is so utterly insulting.
#2 Best: Angel City Chorale Now, I am aware in the making of this video
that this did get the Golden Buzzer in the Judge Cuts, and I couldn't agree more!
The talent in bringing 170 different people together, to make such a beautiful sound,
is honestly deserving of no less than the number 2 best act on this show, excluding
the Golden Buzzers.
#2 Worst: Bryan Kellen This guy should've stayed in his multi-million
dollar company from the start, because from this audition, I can safely say that this
man is not funny in the slightest.
Point-blank.
Golden Audition: Aaron Crow This was such an entertaining act!
This act is honestly WAY too underrated.
The lead-up, drama, creativity and tension this act created made it one of the most enjoyable
and awesome auditions to ever come out of one of these shows.
Rotten Audition: Sethward Oh God, this one.
This is my least favorite act from season 13.
I just think it speaks for itself so me explaining anything is completely pointless.
It's loud, uncomfortable, not funny, and a little unsettling.
JUST WHY?
So, now let's get right into the stats!
We had 59 total acts, which consisted of 16 greats, 22 goods, 16 mehs, 3 bads and 2 boos.
Clearly the goods and the positive side take the lead, so I consider season 13 a good season
in terms of quality of acts.
The greats and mehs being even very well even out to the good, and the bads and boos make
it a light good, as in it's closer to mediocre than great.
Anyway, that was that!
Please like if you enjoyed the video, tell me what you think of AGT in the comments down
